So I am new to android and have been trying out some sports scores apps and wanted to know what everyone thought. Here are my griefs with each...
ESPN App - The next morning, it defaults to the next game and doesnt show the scores from the night before. Kinda annoying that you cant just flip it open and see if your team won last night, but when it does show the score, it shows the next game right there on the widget. No notifications afaik too, kinda sucks.
Tap Scores - Seems to be behind on live scores and it scrolls to the next game so to see you have to scroll back. kinda annoying. But it only shows your fav the teams that have active scores (see scoreboard)
Scoreboard - Seems to be sporadic in its updates like tap scores (sometimes the notification and widget arent even the same!) and it shows all the teams you have listed even when there are no games. Plus when its showing a score, it only says "Now: score." It doesnt say what inning/period so you have no idea where the game is.
What Id like, show the score the next morning, show the next game and dont show teams that arent in season all with simple notificaitons! seems so simple, wish I could combine them all.
So does everyone use, anyone have any other apps or opinions? Love to hear. Thanks!
The best MLB app is "at bat '10" it's not free but it's the best. Live audio streaming of all games from both teams announcers. Scores, stats....

Yea that is def the best for baseball, but Im going to want NFL, NHL and NBA too...sticking with scoreboard for now...

Do these scores apps affect battery life dramatically, or can you fully quit them? I don't want it running in the background polling for scores every minute after I'm done paying attention to a game.
ScoreMobile and ESPN Scorecenter are the two best in my opinion.

I am currently putting together an app that will change your lockscreen to vanilla, puzzle (Samsung-like), thin sheet (acer-ish), big slider (miui-type) or bar slider (sense-ed).
This app will allow music controls from default music player along with poweramp and doubletwist. There will also be weather ,displayed along with battery %. Lastly there will be icons for sms, missed calls, and gmail thay show unread/missed count and can be slide up at any time to view the associated application.
I am working on this now, but want to see if there is a demand for this??

i think there is an app similar to what u doing btw... flockscreen... its not on the market yet i think.
but yeah... good stuff especially if u get the music control on it.

There are some lock screen customizing apps out there, but this one sounds nice.
It sounds like something that Google/Android/Sense should already include.
My only issue is I'm not willing to pay a lot for something like this. I'll certainly try a beta or give a trial a shot- and I'm willing to change my mind for a reasonable price. I've bought a few things for a few dollars each...
This app sounds like LockBot + music controls. LockBot allows individual icon customizations between the many lockscreens you can use, including iPhone, Froyo, Rotary, X10, and Liquid. There's another lockscreen, but the type escapes me.

the main (and only) reason that I'd buy this over Widgetlocker is if you make it VERY light on my processor and make that Galaxy S puzzle unlock PERFECT. That being said, if you do both of those things, I'll buy.

If I didn't use the Sense lock screen I would be interested. The weather part intrigues me.
Quoted this because you need to get rid of the last "s" in Chuck Norris' name! You wouldn't want Chuck's rath upon you, HA! I think I can hear the them song now... "Whenever you're in Texas look behind you..."
I would buy it. Not a lot of lock screen weather apps work half the time anyway.
I have noticed a few people saying that there are already a few apps that do this. Don't let that stop you. Obviously, if there are already apps that do the same, then there is a demand for it, and if there is a demand, there are going to be people who like one app over another. My advice- make it as customizable as possible- people like being able to make their phone look exactly how they want it to, and the majority of liking one over another comes down to how it looks, not so much how it acts. Good job and good luck.

I've been learning about live wallpaper for a while, and recently built a live wallpaper themed from the KungFu Panda movie. I tried to make the character movement look majestic, strong and lively, and the aurora revolving to increase the majestic look.

Yes, a while ago; however, not on this (SGS4) phone.

There was a dot view xposed module which had new features and a game on it (snake). BUT since we now are getting Lollipop, no more xposed for now. So I decided to make simple dot view game (flappy bird) that doesn't require xposed. I have a beta apk for anyone who wants to test it. The trick is to turn off dot view in the dot view app then launch this game and then close the phone to play. I wander if anyone else thought of doing something like this because I haven't seen any besides the xposed module I mentioned. Anyway if you want to try it out, the apk is attached. If this goes well I might make some other game (Tetris, or something Idk).

Just played with it for 10 mins and like all those types of games it's very addictive!
I see now it doesn't utilise the dot view app just the case itself... Think you could be on to a winner here as anyone with the case wants to show off its capabilities.
I'll be playing this game every time I'm bored! (Actually it's the only game I have installed atm and it'll be staying)
Installed, it's awesome. I agree with the guy above too. Maybe space out the pipes a little bit, other than that it's really fun :thumbup:

Hard to find the right font for the score but I got it to look better.

Dot Mario would be nice but that would take a while and who knows after I finish adding features to dot bird and upload to Google Play, I might try a very simple 3-4 level dot Mario. If it goes well I'll finish it, if not I'll scrap it.

My new game for the dot case is space invaders. Actually called Dot Invaders . It is my own version of it. So it is not as easy or exactly the same as the original space invaders. I just uploaded it but hasn't shown in play store yet.
