Hi everyone,
I know there's a fair few of these popping up, but I'd like to announce the publication of my text based clock widget.
I used to use Tajm, but wanted to tidy up the layout a little and add some customisation options. I figured there would be demand for this in the big world as well, so here it is.
It has a 2x1, 2x2 and 4x1 widget sizes. It currently only uses the default system font, but I intend to integrate the font packs that are abundant on the market.
I've also got it written to neatly support additional languages, which I will be adding as and when I can find a handy volunteer translator for a language!
I'm attaching the apk for you to try out. It will lock down configuration without a purchase, but you can still see how the default layout looks and works. If you like it and want more options and future versions then hopefully you'll buy it. It only costs 50p/79c
I can't post outside links yet, but if you search for 'Text Clock' somewhere like AppBrain I'm sure it'll come up. It also has a purchase link inside the attached apk.
Enjoy!

i just buy your clock widget there is no languages yet. thats not good find another for free with langues:-( :-( want my money back!!!!!
I've been playing around in the sdk for a while now and I'm not so good at programing or anything, but I did manage to make a few clock widgets that I would consider very nice looking (I'm somewhat decent at photoshop).
Now, I know how make an apk with the widget, and I'm pretty sure I know how to put multiple widgets in a single apk (although I haven't tried yet)
I have noticed that some apps that have more than one widget (like google voice, or twitter) will say "(2 widgets)" underneath the name and allow me to choose which one I want after click the name.
How would I implement this in my own app?
summary:
I want to create a pack of clocks (4 clocks). on the widget menu it'll be called "clock pack" (I haven't thought of the name yet) and when you click on that it'll give you a choice of which clock you want, each clock with a unique name and possible a unique icon; would it be possible to give each a unique icon?
thank you in advance
Did you ever get an answer to this? I have been attempting to include several clock faces with my clock widget also but can not come up with any workable solutions to allow the user to select the clock face.
hello expert forum, I've been modifying android apps but so far I've only managed to change the icons ... well I want is to rename an application (the name that comes to install it) ... not to edit file devo use tools and devo ... any opinion or answer is welcome thanks
yer
yes
I'm not much into developing apps. Mostly basic ROM stuff but changing the apk name should be possible. I'll look around and see.

If you just want to get different names with icons on your homescreens there are other options available as well.
Some launchers allow you to modify the app name and icon when you add it to your homescreen. Or allow you to rename a shortcut when you long press it (Go Launcher)
My current (AOSP) launcher does not have that feature. But I worked around it by using one of the many features of Tasker. Just create a task that launches a particular app. Give the task your preferred name and icon. And drag a "Task cut" widget to your homescreen for that particular task.
Another benefit of these approaches is that whenever you update the app through the Play Store you will not have to reapply you custom naming and icons. That can save a lot of time with many app updates each week! What may not be nice is that the apps will still show their native name/icon in the app drawer.
Hi,
The Halo multiwindow feature from ParanoidAndroid allows the System to open up any app in a floating window. However there are few alternative ways to launch an app in the multiwindow except for the original Halo bubble.
For people using tools like sidebars or similar applications, there's no option to do that.
That's why I developed the app HaloShortcut. My app allows you to create a shortcut that opens every app in the floating window provided by the Halo feature.
There's an app with similar functions called HaloShortcuts, which you should definitely try out. It comes with an additional search feature and most importantly, it's open source,
HaloShortcuts:
Provides a shortcut for every app/activity that will then start in a multiwindow
The Blacklist feature allows you to control whether an app starts in multi window depending on the currently used app
Doesn't appear in your home launcher nor does it run in the background at any moment
NEW Feature:
(Also works with the XHaloFloatingWindow XPosed extension)

Changelog;
Version 3.2: Fixed Blacklist
Version 3.0: Complete new UI and added Blacklist Feature
Version 2.1: Shortcut labels now show correct name
Version 2.0: Shortcut support
Version 1.0: First release

Very cool, very handy. Thank you.
Good good , thanks

Is it possible to update this app to create shortcuts that point to "Shortcuts" in Android as well instead of just app shortcuts?
You know, the screen when u long press on the launcher and you get this page to create direct shortcuts to contacts, bookmarks, gmail labels etc.
Because it would be handy to create shortcuts that link to specific functions inside apps instead of having to launch the apps in windows mode and then navigating to the required functions i.e. shortcut to a specific whatsapp contact, specific settings screen.
Do consider it, or if anyone has a solution do let me know, thanks!

Hey, I implemented the requested feature, thanks for the support :good:
Hi , this app somehow is not working on my Xperia Z, running android 4.3
i cant see the app icon ANYWHERE in the phone, so cannot create a halo shortcut.
i tried the other halo shortcut you suggested at #1, that one only creates a shortcut on the home screen, so that's not too useful (i want to create a halo shortcut on notification bar)
Thanks
Works great! Thank you!
I like it! Great app

Hey, this app won't show up in any launcher, because that wouldn't make sense at all. But you should be able to access it from a popup dialog whenever you want to add a shortcut to something.
So in your app that makes the notification bar shortcuts, you have to select shortcuts and than select "HaloShortcut".
If you still have problems, tell me the name of the app that you are using and i'll see how to get it done

Hi,I've finally found the option, it is under "Bookmark" (not "App") when creating the halo shortcuts.
It is working if i create a desktop shortcut to open app with halo, but currently it doesn't work with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.nicolai.buch.andersen.ns&hl=en
which i try to add the halo shortcut to the notification bar, the app opens as normal.
Thanks
sorry

Hey, I tried the app and for me it worked flawlessly, so I can't tell you what the problem is
(I use the xposed halo module)
great work:good::good::good::good:
Works good for me so far with xHalo. All the possibilities are great. Thanks for the app.
Thanks fot your app.
But it doesnt work with XHFW3. (Xhalofloating window 3.16)
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.zst.xposed.halo.floatingwindow3
XHFW3 works with Android6.
Could you make it suitable with XHFW3?
Thank you.
Hi all.
I'm looking for an app where I can load/show a webpage or rss feed and also (preferably in the same view/page) add shortcuts to other installed apps. I want to be able to create the shortcuts and choose which of my installed apps to shortcut to. I would also like to be able to place the shortcuts free/arrange the shortcuts my self.
Does an app like this exist?

Kim
