Please, please, please can someone talk me through exactly how to add the amazing clocks you can get for the HD2 on here?
I've downloaded but they just don't appear and it's driving me absolutely crazy!!!
I'm a beginner and want to learn
in the same boat, cant get anything to change!
Which clocks? Analog or digital? You will need Co0kies Home Tab installed to use the analog clocks.
God, why do these hi-tec people have to make things so difficult for us beginners!
You'd think they'd have like a beginners section where you can read 'walk-throughs' to get these clocks on your phone along with great wallpapers.
They do full 'walk-throughs' for games etc that must take weeks to make, but none for how to sort your HTC HD2 out!
What's cookies home tab???
Analogue clocks, like watches you'd wear etc, etc!
There's just no detailed info for beginners, I haven't got a clue what to do once downloaded onto my phone.
(now I have to wait 5 minutes between each post on here! This just gets harder and harder!)

Its all in here somewhere you just have to dig for it............
Analogue clock - You need Cookies home tab installed (click the cookiemonster link in my signature)
Install the clock cab file
Reboot your phone.......
Flip clock - Install cab, restart your phone......
ALWAYS INSTALL TO DEVICE MEMORY!!!!
My device memory is always too full (with what I do not know) but I have lots of memory card storage available.
Can I not download to memory card?
So I download and install something called cookies home tab?
Then download clocks.............
But what next please?
Just about every clock thread on this forum will tell you what you need if you read the original post all the way thru. Did you read the first sticky post in this forum before you started posting? The one that says read before posting? It has a link in it that will take you to the Co0kies Home Tab thread in the regular Windows Mobile development forum.

Chill mate, no need to get wound up! why would you wonna post every 5 minutes anyway?
In case you didn't know this is a developers forum, wich means that the everage member allready has some nowkledge about these things. But we where all beginners here and so was I. Nobody will help you if you're complaining, find out for yourself how to get these clocks to work, make a detailed walkthrough and post it here and help others!
These clocks and almost every other modd isn't easy to make and people who make them are doing it for free and you asking them to make a manual escpeccially for you?
This forum is all about trying, learning and doing and testing things yourself, do a search foor cookie hometab or maxmanilla, that is what you need for these clocks,
Man, some people.........
Clear out your device memory........
Get CHT......
Tweak your phone how you want it.....
Its all trial and error...................
Thought people might, just might, be helpful, which a few are being......Thanks anyway!
installing cabs is similar to installing software on your pc or laptop. you put in your storage card, then install it (tab on it) from there and then restart your phone. just start with any of this clocks (cabs) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=654098 to familiarise with the process
hi all,
I have all the CHT etc... installed.
I cant install a new clock cause I have [StarView] Fall out clock installed, but I cannot install it. I guess cause its in use.
How do you uninstall old clocks?
Go to your settings tab and select applications>remove applications then scroll thru the list and select what you want to uninstall. Then hit Remove. You may have to soft reset to complete the uninstall.
Tried that, says not fully uninstalled but do you want to remove from the list anyway.
Will try again with a soft reset though and see what happens.

When this has happened to me I have found that if I try to reinstall the program again, it will actually uninstall it. Try that too.
I am one of the "guilty" guys. Actually, I did not include a specific description
on how to install a clock.
Why?
Because I have the feeling that you *must* learn what a cab is, but *before*
you do special things like mods and tweaks. I don´t have the time to write
complete user and interface instructions, my stuff is done in my free time,
and it´s available for free. Nobody is obliged to use that stuff, but I am
happy and proud if many do.
The title of my thread says "clocks for CHT". If anybody doesn´t know what
CHT means, the search function will quickly deliver the information.
Maybe because I kind of expect from buyers of a €500 device that they do have
some basic knowledge, I don´t include a description about how a cab works.
Also, I am surprised to see that many users don´t even read the original I/B
which is available on HTC´s homepage - it delivers a lot of basic information.
The xda forum itself is the best source I can imagine to get any information
anybody needs. You just have to take a little effort and search.
Even the instructions which are in my thread are not read correctly. In some
cases, I added a small "ReadMe" file, which is also not read - when I consider
the questions which come.
And this is where we finally end up: Even beginner´s questions are gently
answered in my thread. Some people ask questions through PM, which is
fine, too - but you have to ask.
nope, cannot uninstall it!
very bizzare, reinstalled again and reset, and now its gone!! lol
nevermind, I have the result I want!

Can anyone here remember what it was called and where I can find it again.? I'v searched but cant seem to find it!
Only down side is it now has to WM5 Compatible.
Thanks for your help guys, look forward to hearing from someone soon.

njcoussell - you might want to change the topic title to show that the problem has been solved.
There are a few other apps that do this as well... but the MS one is good enough I think.

ok, I've had my fuze since the day it came out and didn't do a thing right, I didn't even install a .cab until about a week ago because I didn't know how. I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to this type of stuff, so I'm here now asking for help. I just did a hard reset so I was back to factory settings, logged into here and starting posting this, I came here because you all seem really kind and genuinely willing to help morons like me. So I'm here asking: what should I do? Would someone be willing to write a list of all the things I should install (preferable in order) and even give a link to the thread where it was made (so we can read about it and properly thank the creators) because no joke, I messed something up and I would get a message popping up every minute or so, I couldn't download anything or do much, so I figured I'd restart the thing have have some people who actually know what they're doing help me out and give me a list of things to do, I'm sure I'm not the only one this would help
special thanks to those that've helped:
none yet, be the first =]
honestly all i can say is, read this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410159
follow those links, which will help u out tremendously..and u should be good to go.
if theres anything else u cant seem to find in those links..use the search funtion it HELPS SO MUCH!
Late,
Jstar
thanks, also, I remember hearing that advanced configuration tool 3.3 is a great thing to download, however when I tried to find it I came up short, is this something I have to download via comp, then transfer? Or can I download it straight to the phone? because I'm on a road trip right now just sitting here trying to get my phone awesome
Advanced Config Link
I searched on "Advanced Config" and this link was the first hit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317070
You should be able to download the cab to your phone (or storage card) and just execute it.
Another good link for really getting your phone "right" is this one (which also has many of the CAB's you'll want/need): http://fuze.cassiebaby.com/
I'll note again, however, that you really need to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the search functions...most of the questions you'll have are answered (and you'll not draw ire of folks). And, per above post, spend some time reading the wiki's...
Fav Apps
Hi All,
Just got a phone from korea Which is very cool!
I was wondering if there any cool or new app that can run on my phone.
My phone is a LG KS20........touch screen.
Any advice really appricated!
Thanks,
i heard there is a free app called google search. It is fun, painless, and most of all free!!!!
I found some free apps for your phone see HERE
Now you can search and find some too
You've got yourself a Windows Mobile phone - congratulations.
There's a plethora of free apps for WM out there, and Google will indeed point them out for you. You need to read around (a lot) and try them out (a lot). Always remember to note the forum rules.
Most of the apps from this site should work on your KS20 - should, because a) this is an XDA site after all and some apps & mods will be XDA-specific, and b) the KS20 doesn't support all WM apps as well as it should. Look out for dedicated LG or KS20 forums - I know there are a few.
Btw, I gave my KS20 back six months ago because of a battery bug, because audio output in satnav apps doesn't work and because support for a few important other WM apps is poor. These bugs have turned up all around the planet - it's all there in the forums, but I didn't know that before I bought mine. It's a nice sleek device with a good touch screen, but it just didn't work for me. If they haven't managed to put that right yet, and if you can still give it back to the vendor, you might consider getting - well, an XDA.
N.
This belongs in the Questions and Answers thread. Almost everything should work on your phone if its running WM6. Might wanna check the resolution on the programs before you download them and any other prerequisites
Lgks20
Lol oppsss......i sorry
i am new to this site
Yeah.....OMG this site is the man

i have an iphone theme on my phone already and i am trying to find more app to put on my phone
i want GAlarm on my phone, but i trying to find one,but i can't (help)
And a website would be helpful guys Thx
i just new to this website and having trouble finding what i need
I have the same phone... its windows mobile, that means there are thousands of apps
But you should check out fingermenu that's great...
i can give you a few tips though... dont expect to run too many graphics heavy apps like PointUI Home 2 or winterface it just cant handle them, LG forgot the drivers
it can handle SPB shell and PointUI Home 2 though so some works...
also keep you proof of purchase near might just be me unlucky but ive had mine on service two times in less than six months, on time i got a battery bug the status wouldnt update always 100% and the battery time was very short too... and now the screen got yellow spots on it so service again

[App][31-07-09] Small,fast,reliable Soft Reset/Suspend and Shutdown w & w/o TD2 icons
[Click here fo my all in one application SoftReset/Shutdown/Standby/Dim Light/Screen Off check]
TD2 SoftReset is a small (17 KB) program I wrote in native C++ to be able to soft reset the HTC Touch Diamond2 without having to fiddle with the backcover or wait ages for the device to turn off when using the power on/off button.
A soft reset is usually advised when the device starts to get slower or if significant changes were made like editing the registry, sometimes even after installing new software.
So this little tool comes in handy for that.
Of course there are already other "soft reset" tools out there, but I wasn't sure which method they use to accomplish the task (there are quite a few different ways). As some of them might even cause loss of data I wanted to be on the safe side and wrote my own. Plus it now has this nice little icon (hope you like it too) representing the TD2
HOWEVER: use at your own risk - I am putting it into public domain and thus will not take any responsibility.
TD2 SoftReset will work on all windows mobile devices starting from 2003SE.
To uninstall pick "HTC TD2 SoftReset" from the software removal. I've added 2 flavours of the program TD2SoftReset.CAB and TD2SoftReset_Suspend.CAB. Clicking "No" in the latter version will put the device to sleep aka standby mode. You don't need both CABs, just decide if you want the additional suspend function.
TD2 ShutDown
This program utilizes the HTC internal Shutdown method. It completely shuts down the device. Same way as if you'd hold the power on/off button for longer.
As there were more and more people (with other HTC devices) asking for versions with neutral icons, I have attached those too.
TD2SoftReset.CAB - Simple Soft Reset Program with TD2 icon (TD2 icon w 2 blue arrows)
SoftReset.CAB - Same as TD2SoftReset.CAB with neutral icon (2 blue arrows)
TD2SoftReset_Suspend.CAB - Same as TD2SoftReset.CAB, but clicking "No" will suspend device
SoftReset_Suspend.CAB - Same as TD2SoftReset_Suspend.CAB with neutral icon.
TD2ShutDown.CAB - Adds a program to safely shut down your device with TD2 icon.
ShutDown.CAB - Same as TD2ShutDown.CAB with neutral icon
Enjoy and visit my Blog if you like http://mytd2.blogspot.com (it's in german however)
.
Many thanks TinTin! Got it installed, and it works fine, and it's also nice to replace my programs shortcut from a 'HD Soft Reset' now to a 'TD2 SoftReset' icon. Thanks again.
Thank you! Glad you like it - at least 1 out of 100 *lol
Good work; appreciate you sharing this utility. Many thanks.
Good job, TinTin!!!
Is it possible to make another .cab without "Softreset?", that i don't need to confirm? I am testing a lot of things ant that would save me a lot of "Clicks"
I would appreciate it a lot. Danke im Voraus!
Hi TinTin, Thanks man! This, and your other great utility are now listed in the Rollup thread ;-) many thanks!

Check TD2SoftReset_No_Warning.CAB which is attached - this version will not ask for confirmation before a softreset is executed, clicking the program icon will immediately soft reset your device I encourage everyone to rather download and install the version in the first posting in case of accidental misclicks.

Rollup thread? Where is that?
TinTin, if you're not using KernelIO, what are you using?
Are you causing a purge of file buffers etc first?
There's also the Windows API method, or the HTC specific methods...
I can't remember what VJEschaton uses, but I specifically DON'T make special efforts to close file handles etc IIRC, as frankly, with a flash based filesystem, it shouldn't be able to cause a great deal of damage.
But either way, I'd be interested to know what technique you're using.
PM if that's better.
V
Hi vijay, ltnh
No secret - I'm using ExitWindowsEx , recommended as per msdn. It stops all running processes and flushes the buffers, which KernelIO doesn't. It's not a personal experience that there may occur data loss in using KernelIO, but I've read about it being a possible issue on several different sites.
Ah, that's the one. Yeah, I think I use that on some devices...
Wow, it's been a long time since I wrote that one, I feel my APIs slipping away Gotta start reading them again.

Do a full backup first. You'll be glad when you eff everything up (which is guaranteed, judging by your post, lol).
Just download the cabs directly to your phone over PIE or opera and click them. Try reading the install instructions first. This may come as a surprise, but reading won't kill you.
