[REQ] Native IM application - Droid Incredible Themes and Apps

This is a wonderful app because it uses a push service rather than constantly having to recheck for new messages. Unfortunately, it Force Closes when trying to sign on. Could this be ported?

[Q] Do apps use Push at all?

I'm wondering if any apps out there actually use Push for updates. I prefer to use the simple Mail client I have with Infused 2.1 instead of the Gmail app as I also get email from a MobileMe account. I also use Facebook a good deal.
I've noticed that neither of these two apps have a Push option, unless I'm missing it somewhere. Not a fan of the current polling options every 30mins, 1hr, etc. Is there a way around this that someone would care to clarify?
Thanks!

applications with services...

Is there a way to manually manage applications that have their own services... for example:
I like the weather channel and like to use their app, however, i dont want the service running on boot/after i close the app..
same with:
facebook
speaktoit
and im sure there are more lol
ideally, these applications will only run when i open them and close when i close them..

[Q] [APP][WANTED] custom Google Voice SMS Notifications - per user

Is there an app out there that would allow custom notifications for SMS\phone\gmail for users of google voice? There are several that work outside of google voice, but not so much with it.
Only app I found that mostly worked was Whoisit lite. Lite version works fine, except any new email cause it to stop responding & force close. Tried the pro version & got my refund. It didn't crash on email notification, but initially it would only play the default sound, not the custom, then it wouldn't allow anything to play when an email arrived. (The dev on this app has disappeared, so contacting him to fix it isn't going to work.)
I like having all my stuff in one easy to access location, that syncs everything with my voice account, so not using google voice isn't really a consideration.
Ideas or suggested apps?

[Q] Any reason NOT to change the default messaging app?

Ok so I am coming from iPhone so excuse me for this question:
any reason NOT to change the default SMS app? I was browsing the app store and realized there are MANY out there.
Isn't it bad/bloat/slower to install an additional messaging app? The more I have the more running, no? The more running, the more I use battery, using resources, and so on....
Help
Thanks

No real reason why not, you can set the default to the new one you install and so it will become the main SMS app in use, the other one wont cause any resource usage. With one you install from the play store you get the benefit of getting more features and updates. I use the Google messenger SMS app on the store but have used textra before which has a lot of customisation options and features.
Thanks a lot for the help!!

Background Apps Force Close

Hello, So Im Using An Oppo Mirror 5s that is running ColourOs Version 2.1.0i based on Android 5.1.1. My Enquiry Is That Everytime i clear an app from my recent tasks tray, The Following Apps Will Be Forced Closed By The System. This is frustrating because my messaging app such as Whatsapp will not deliver messages until i manually open the app. The option of locking the app in my recent tasks is possible but it makes it sooo cluttered. I really need help. Thanks
