all i have is the genie widget...a google search usually comes up with tons of stuff though. Just search for "_________ .apk"
EDIT: not sure why thats .zip-ed....it works on my phone though
Sorry to bump such an old thread but this is exactly what I was looking for. Can someone advise me on how to install this on a rooted Captivate. I'm familiar with apk's and odex's but after downloading the file above I'm a little lost. Please help a semi-noob
Just unzip it and put the apk on the root of your sd card and install it through astro

Thanks, I tried that. I cant find an .apk file any where in that download.
You probably just have to rename the file by taking the .zip off and it should be an apk

Hi, I have downloaded Youlu phone book replacement for my HTC Hero and I really like the app but not the widget.
I have been playing round with .apk and .png files over the last few day I decided to try and customise the widget by making the background transparent and changing the icons.
With the .png's changed and the apk zipped and signed I install the app, apply the widget and there it is my first customised widget on my home screen.
But when I try to open the app either via the widget or the app draw get a message asking me update my settings file and a link to download the original apk. And I am unable to use the app.
Any help anyone could give regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Cjward23
P.S. I have highlighted the custom Youlu widget on Screenshot, the badly drawn red line is not part of the widget
Anyone?

see for APK Manager 4.9 - here you can find information about manipulating apk's
I used APK manager to modify the .png files. But the app seems to know that I have modified the .png files and won't let me open it.

Why are you modifying the framework-res.apk. Shouldn't you modify the apk of the Yolulu app?
If you really need to make the changes in framework-res, don't resign it. Never resign system apks. Just make the changes, and zip it back up.

Thanks for pointing out my mistake. I have modified the Youlu APK not the framework-res.apk. got framework-res on the brain at the moment.
I have corrected my mistake in the first post.

I have this Gallery and dont like the 3d gallerys.
**** MIUI APPS IF THEY DONT INSTALL, Use ADB or Root Explorer and push the files to the ( system/app/ ) folder then restart. ****
I DONT TAKE CREDIT FOR THE APPS THEY ARE ALL FREE APPS, AND I LOVE THEM AND JUST WANT TO SHARE THEM!!

Here it is, straight from the newest ROM. If there are any changes in this week's release (which happens tomorrow, March 11, btw), I'll post it here. Usually, there aren't. But on this one, if it works (it might depend on a custom MIUI lib file for mediascanner) has some neat transition animations.

Enjoy.

You might have to push it to /system/app.
I was just wondering why the miui music app doesn't show the equalizer. Is that feauture just not supported with cm7? I know its also part of the lockscren in the miui rom and that also uses the framework so I guess it may be the same right? Just a qurstion. Thanks

I've been running a stripped down sense rom for awhile and have no desire to ever go back, however I do love some of the wallpapers from the HTC hub. I've searched and searched, but can't find the storage location for the wallpapers after you download them?
I want to delete the hub altogether, especially since it is Sense dependant, but want to keep the pictures..

Hello,
The pictures are store on your /sdcard/downloads/wallpaper. They are encrypted. I used a program like picsay to open them, then saved them somewhere else on my sdcard.

would you mind downloading a picture called "Peaquin Music Vortex" or something similar. i really like that wallpaper, really miss it. i had it on my Desire Z, and it would just be ace if i could have it on my One S. thanks in advance
Downloaded files at /sdcard/downloads/wallpaper are NOT encrypted. Just rename them with JPG file extension and open or move to any directory.
I have some great widgets on my kings shooter rom, but I want to put them on another phone. I can probably try pulling them off my rom, but I tried on the calendar app and I couldn't get that to work. If someone knows where I can download them and then install on another phone that would be awesome. I want the HTC Stocks widget, HTC Weather widget, HTC Task Manager. Thanks in advance

You can't do that...they're made for the htc launcher, so its impossible, I've never seen it happen...the closest thing I've seen is a mock up clock from fancy Widgets or beautiful Widgets...
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah, if they're from a different sense version, they won't work. (i.e., if you're trying to put sense 3.0 Widgets on a sense 1.0 rom). If you're trying to add them to another sense 3.0 rom that that doesn't already have them, then download Merge rom and it'll move them to your SD and from there move them (manually) to /system/app and set permissions to rw-r-r and reboot. Should work.

Hi guys
Does anyone know what clock widget this is?
Wow that looks amazing. I hope somebody for somebody to know the answer

Its probably from the Xoom2....
Hope someone can extract it for us
It is one of the Motorola clock widgets in the xyboard factory OS.
Here is the apk for the widget. I don't know if there are other apps needed for it to work or not, but you can try it.

It probably needs the odex file also, but I haven't spent the time to learn how to combine them. I will post it in a couple of minutes if someone can deodex the files it might make it installable.

That would be cool?
What program will you use fot it?
The original widget is on the left (came stock on my xyboard)
My moto skinned version of the miui-animated clock widget is on the right.
It's a bit smaller due to the size of the miui clock widget, but I tried to make it as authentic looking as possible.
the steps I went through were roughly done in this order:
1. open the original apk with 7-zip and extract the folders.
2. opened the images for the clock background and hands
3. cut as much as I could out of them and reformatted them to fit the miui clock widget images corresponding with the appropriate object as well as doing a lot of image editing to get them back into stock moto clock looking shape. I could only use the clock face and hands. I had to recreate some of the shading and the glass outer ring.
4 Opened a copy of the base miui clock widget and deleted the corresponding images
5 added the new images to the apk
6 resigned the apk
after this I installed it and added the "animated anilog clock" widget to my homescreen and resized.
