Caller Groups

Hi. I'm having problems finding an Imate application that could sort groups and contacts by ring tones. It's like te Caller Groups option in nokia phone. I would like to assign a ringtone to groups or individual callers. The phone extension application did not work properly on the version I have, Any suggestions? I'd be glad to receive more than one, thanks

It's not free, but with this app, silence call without rejecting function will not work.

How to have groups with sound

Is there a way to set up a group list and have everyone in that group have the same ring tone? I use pocketcm and would like to still be able to use that program. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. By the way I use Touch No Evil Rom WM6 THANKS!!!!!

i use the app "ringo", it can play most types of tones, and the best part you can assign different tones for your contacts or groups, and it also has support to have individual tones for your sms, so you know who is calling you, or who has sent yopu an sms message

but with ringo silencing the call without rejecting don't works...

Text Message Alerts

I added some ringtones to my phone and I can't assign them to text messages. The songs only appear under incoming calls. How do I get them to show up under text messages and e-mail alerts and stuff like that?

Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications>Event>Messaging: New text message - then pick your sound (any ringtone that is in \Windows should show up)
Edit: Also any ringtone in \Storage Card\My Documents shows up for me also.

It doesn't show up under there...they only show up under incoming calls.

You need to store the ring tone in the \windows directory on your phone.

what format are the tones you put on?

The ringtones are in .mp3 format. I put them under /windows in the rings folder and they still do not show up.

Try putting them in \APPLICATION DATA\SOUNDS
This is where I have mine, and they always show up in the default lists that WM5 reads from.

I'm running WM6 and I have an AppData folder (no Application Data Folder) but there isn't a sounds folder in there. I tried making one but that didn't work either.

Anyone have an answer for this? It's bugging me pretty bad that I can't have my own text message alerts.

I just copied a SMALL mp3 file into the Windows directory in my Hermes, it WORKS, it allows me to choose the file for a text message alert. I just did it with a bigger file and it worked also (3 MB mp3 file).

What phone are you using? wm6 from who? Which rom?

Different ringtone for different contacts?

Is there a way to assign different ringtone sounds to different contacts?
Or any recommendation of a program that does that?
I read that Photo Contacts Pro is a bit buggy,

Open a contact...
Choose "Edit Contact"...
Choose "Ringtone"...
Et voila!
Not sure about the exact wording of the sequence, as I have the danish ROM.

You should also mention that the above method does not work for simcontacts, Only for contacts stored on the device.

[Q] How to set unique ringtone to different contacts

I actually meant notification sound. So when I receive a txt fro Bob, my phone will play one sound. When I receive a txt from George, my phone will play a different sound. How do I do that?

[Solved] I downloaded Handcent SMS app for free from the market, it allows you to set different notification sound to different contacts.

simple u go on contacts,click Bob or George.Menu,edit,scroll down to ring tone and choose whatever u want.This doesn't work with imported contacts thou

Thanks for the reply. I have just tried that. But I found out that only works with phone calls, but not receiving SMS.
BTW, what do you mean it doesn't work with imported contacts?
