Music player for HD2 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I've searched the forum but haven't found anything worth using.
What I'm lookin' for is a free music player for HD2...a player that's really good to use and also a fast one...anyone got a link?

Too tired for now to help you search, but sure that you will find something in the Forum... You don't like the original player that comes with the HD2 ?

No, I don't like the original player, it's stops the music almost all the time and it takes forever to load the songs...

with other programs (photo shoot / video recording or game playing etc)
at the same time.
2nd choice S2P
s2p.ac-s2 com

Or..
Or If your interested in spending a little dollar, you can kill two birds with one stone and get the best media player in town, Coreplayer.
Not that pretty but loads of good settings, plays music and Video, I love it!
Highly practical for me

aiight, thanks for the tips...I'm gonna check out pocket music player
*edit*

thanks, I'll try it out...

Have a look at S2P also -it isn't freeware anymore since v1.0, but it is really worth the money!! (~3 bucks).

Check the Mort-Player: Skinnable, lots of features, imho the best (Freeware) Music-Player!

I second Nitrogen! Great player love the fact you can change the track by just shaking it!

I prefer S2P and you can also change track by shaking.

smartphone alternative to mortplayer

hello,
i'm looking for a smartphone alternative to mortplayer - since mortplayer without touchscreen is not usable.
it should at least have a wake and sleep feature - like mortplayer.
does anybody know one ?
thanx.
The best Smartphone MP3 player is Conduits' Pocket Player :
http://www.conduits.com/products/player/
I don't know if it does everything you're looking for but you can check out the features on the product homepage.
MortPlayer based on GSPlayer.
You can try the GSPlayer version for Windows Mobile 6 Standard devices.

Best Media player for stock fimware

i am currently sitting on stock firmware and dont feel comfortable flashing my phone. I like that i can watch movies and videos on my device but windows media player is really laggy and jumps a lot. what other suggestions do you guys have for media players for 6.1 pro...
coreplayer is not free but its really great. plays divx better than divx player for wm. though it doesnt do tv out very well sadly. but its good enough to watch movies on my phone full framerate.
yea i have been looking at that. I just cant justify spending like 30 bucks for it. Thanks for the suggestion though.
roush611, consider for one moment getting comfortable flashing, it is very fun! I was very hesitant too but now I flash weekly!
On to your question...I wonder if S2P would remedy the issues you would are having? It uses WMP as it's 'engine' but maybe it would solve these issues.
Search for TCMP, free version of Core Player.
well i flashed my g1 and it was cool for a bit but then i could never get it back to stock fimware. So i dont really wanna mess with that again.
I tried to download TCMP but it just crashes everytime i open it... I am kinda at a loss.
You can try Kinoma play free version. It worked wonderfully on mine, and s2p was previously mentioned by someone. Nitrogen is another if the other 2 dont wor for you but kinoma imorts your media library while the other 2 dont.
The free version of kinoma play doesnt let you use the equalizer but it was never a problem for me because htc includeds audio booster with its phones.
You could try Pocket Player http://www.conduits.com/products/player/
I have only used it for podcast and audio myself but I'm very impressed with it. You should be able to download a 30 free trial version.
I've started a thread about this, but Pocket Player is probably the best player out there. However, every app that I've found does one thing really good, and another important thing really poorly. YMMV, though.
Search for "TCPMP Tech1 PRO7 Digital Play HD StandAlone Version.cab". It's really great. It does flash videos better than anything I've tried. I think the forum is everythingdiamond.info, or something like that. Read and follow the setup info.

Best alternative music player.

I like the music player in Sense and I also quite like the look of S2P (although the lack of any treble and bass controls means it's a non-starter for me) but I'm looking for a decent alternative with a good finger-friendly UI. I have tried numerous other media players but hardly any have a suitable interface for non-stylus use. In these I include PocketPlayer and PocketTunes. I tried Nitrogen but for some reason the slightest adjustment on any of the frequencies results in distortion.
Any suggestions?
I'm just up to my neck in suggestions here!
I use on an everyday basis Pocketplayer from conduit. It's very good and full of options: podcast, equalizer, internet radio, media guide. It's not free but it worth it.
I tried that out but it's clearly designed for a stylus. It also didn't look right on 6.5.x and the bottom of it's window sat over the bottom toolbar. I was thinking more along the lines of a music application specific to the HD2 or suitable for WVGA capacitive devices at least.
I was looking at Nemo player on the Android. Something like that would be ideal.
I'd also like a good music player that has an ecxellent equalizer because the audiobooster keeps being buggy
I remember seeing something somewhere about SRS WOW or something like that, i don't know if that's just an equalizer or a media player, some clarification would be nice.
I would strongly recommend SRS WOW as an alternative to Audiobooster. This would allow you to use S2P (or any other stand alone player) and maintain high end equalization.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584626&highlight=srs
Why don't you try the finger-friendly version of TCPMP?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=634951
Worked great when I tried it on the floor model HD2 at T-Mobile.

I don't rate SRS WOW at all, I have used it previously on the HD2 and other Windows Mobile devices in times past. I'm quite an audiophile and, despite tinkering with it for hours, I couldn't get a sound I liked with it, eventually getting one frequency sounding good resulted in other frequencies becoming overpowering or near silent. I also think the 3d effect is ridiculous.
Without any hesitation... Kinoma Play
It's really the best music player. Sound quality is perfect and the interface is absolutely amazing.

It's a paying soft, but it's worth the price.

I tried Kinoma Player, it seems to be a jack of all trades master of none to me. It also looks a bit crap and blurry on the HD2 as they have no WVGA skins for it. Not overly impressed and not what I'm looking for.

This has no sense. You are saying that you are looking for a decent alternative with a good finger-friendly UI.
Obviously Kinoma has probably the most finger-friendly interface of all. You may not love it for some reasons but I'm pretty sure it's better than S2P for instance.
Very difficult to understand what you are looking for exactly. Finally I don(t understand the purpose of your thread. Just test all the audio players available on the market and chose the one you like. It does not deserve a specific thread. That's all mate.
I use Nitrogen
Hi there really interesting post!
I need a good player too, cause 70% of time spent with Hd2 is for play music
but it's difficult to find a serious and stable solution, they seem all to young software..
htc audiomanger
+beautiful and default
-no alphabet scrolling bar, difficult to import playlist without wmp11-12, it search for all mp3 on storage, ringtones too (solved with reg twaek)
Pocket Player
+the best in general,scrolling ,playlist,nowplaying,albumart.. (haven't tryed with 10 gigas jet)
-some bug-now fixed skin on 6.5.x-, i can't open my mediamonkey playlist after sync!!i'm trying to solve but.. damn. and waiting 4.2!
S2p
+overall, best free alternative, good extended options with S2U2, it read mediamonkey imported playlist with no problem
-false now playing list, too laggy interface on hd2..
Nitrogen
+so nice..
-but so young too , no playlist, buggy excution ...
Kinoma Play
+ it seems to have a really good a stable base system
- but music it's only part of too many services, already installed on hd2..
This is my experience, there are also other player but i think the upper are the best. The problem is that i still not have a definitive solution for mp3...
An mp3player must be able to import playlists from pc for me, i have too music and it's unusefull play all the imported tracks toghether..or recreating them manually on device..
Solving sync for PP playlist could be for me the perfect solution, but i 'm not finding ways ..I there someone that can help?
When i sync playlists with media monkey, it transfer playlists written with wrong addresses info. The player read welll all titles but when it try to open a track, PP search for playlist addresses with 'Storage Card\artist\album....' while the imported playlists from MM have just 'artist\album....' written in . Anyone experieced and solve that?

The purpose of the thread is obvious but I will point it out anyway for your benefit. I was hoping people would make suggestions regarding music players I hadn't used, for example you suggested Kinoma and I tried it out and found it to be wanting. Just because my opinion of it differs from yours it doesn't equate to it making no sense. You said it's interface was 'absolutely amazing'. I disagree with that.
Your comment on this not deserving a specific thread is somewhat unusual given the type of forum this is. Perhaps you would like to specify exactly what subjects deserve to have threads and what doesn't? I'd say this thread is perfectly valid for the reasons pointed out above.

What surprises me is that there seems to be no need for Bookmark or a similar function. I know that Pocketplayer has this option. For me that is certainly a must. As for the quality of playback whatever the player it will never be like a stereo set.
The most ideal for me is a mediaplayer what can play all the formats, music, video, photo and E-books. is completely configurable. Has an excellent equalizer and Bookmark function. But like all good things in life, they are not within reach
regards, fred
I find Pocket Player to be the best music player for WM. It was certainly not developed with finger friendliness in mind, but it can certainly be very easily used on the HD2. It has great features and despite some bugs (related to WM 6.5) it is certainly better than S2P (which I believe to be just an iPhone copy - I don't like that).

The best is pocket player (just use a skin for wvga - surch for it at xda)
much more options tna anyother, much better sound quallity (you don't need srs wow to simulate surround or bass boost)
it playes everything... and best of all, It works very well whit my bluetooth phones (witch, by the way, for it's price, I recomend - phillyps shb7110 - it can be used in the car also, and with any hi-fi or anyother apparatus with sound output) nitrogen doesn't work with the keys of forward or rewind of this phones.

I agree: Pocket Player: It has hundreds of features!
My favourite is S2P - it´s for sure not as overloaded with features as pocket player is - but with a few ticks you listen music. And it integrates well with S2U2 (at least when you use it).
Pocket Player hangs on my phone when it goes to sleep, or the playback stutters. Maybe there´s an option somewhere - but until now I didn´t found it.

in pocket player go to options advanced and search under power. Theres something related to that problem of going to sleep... (if can't find say again and I will see, can't do it now)
s2p is good but the author left its developmnt in favor of only s2u2. it lacks somethings important - can't bind buttons and doens't work landscape... for instance

Nevermind ... I wouldn´t use it anyway. And it has some problems with the 6.5.5 Button-Bar, at least the version I once had.
I don´t use landscape on my phone, but for what you want to bind buttons? Switching songs? I do this with my BT-Headset, so it´s enough for me. The only thing I miss is the album scrolling from the earlier releases, but from time to time there are updates for S2P - so I haven´t stop hoping it will come back some day

Which music player are you using?

I've tried different music players and to me there's no clear winner as all seem to have some good qualities but also some drawbacks. So I'm wondering what music player you have been using and why.
Lately I've been using mixzing which has most of the features I want. There aren't many drawbacks, except I wish there was a skin option (I would like to have bigger buttons while playing in portrait mode) and the possibility of launching it and have the music that was playing last start immediately (like an ipod). I also wish it would somehow integrate with the stock lock screen showing the music currently playing.
s2p
The best I have seen is the s2p. It is ipod style.

I haven't yet found any player with really big buttons, but I just tried btunes like some people suggested and it has gesture support, which is pretty good too and integrates somewhat with the screen lock. The only problem is the ugly iphone skin.

Me, i'm using cube... It's new, it's great, it's beautiful...
Hi!
I`ve had my Desire for a couple of weeks now and,I started using the built in musicplayer..And after a while I downloaded Meridian since I did hear a lot of good things about the app.But for a couple of days ago,I was out walking (exersicing.. !! ",) ).It was raining an ocean,so I pluged in some earbuds started up Meridian an started playing some downloaded podcasts. After I have drayned I went online and found out that 3 Cubed was recomended for a nice 3D-effect cube (some sort of eyecandy..)But that wasnt the thing that made me switch,it was that the widget was smaller then Meridian and that I was able to change musictracks just by pressing the ON/off key on my cellphone and unlock. That was handy becouse I have an lockpattern on my cell. That means I could save me some toutches
As a multimedia-player (videoplayer and steamingplayer) they olso play music but Ive started using 3 as the prefferd player. If I have recorded videoes with my cell I often just use the built in or Meridain (I havent uninstalled it yet..Even thou Im running out off storrage on the "inernal".Since I havent rooted my cellphone and the OFFICIAL 2.2 ROM adjustments to Desire is HTC christmaspresent too me).The same goes when Im watching streams from TED or other sites.
I know that Meridian allow me too set "always on while playing"-setting but I found out that 3 solution was so nice that I might just uninstall Meridian since I need all the space I can get on Deisre
Just my 2 cents.
EDIT:Some letters had dissapeard and some of them was changing places on my reply
bTunes
After being disappointed with the built in player for HTC Legend, i tried many free music apps, like doubleTwist, 3, zimly, TuneWiki, meridian, Music Player etc etc. Everyone had one or two cool features and one or two drawbacks. Design, function, bugs, etc.
i finally found bTunes and went ahead and bought it.
It does look exactly like the player in iphone, but it has loads of features and settings, like for podcast/audiobooks, a lock screen (on top of the regular), cover art downloads automatically, lots of sorting options, etc. To sum it up, it feels more robust and one feels that a lot of thought as been put into it.
Although i must admit this is the only paid player i have tested, but all my needs are satisfied with this one, so i neednt look any further.
MixZing is the only one I've tried that I like more than the stock player. The lock screen and widget choices are what sold me. Well worth the seven dollars. I agree with the OP that skins would be a welcomed feature, but isn't a dealbreaker for me as long as the interface looks refined (which it is).
FOr now Im using Museek. Its not perfect, but its free, has pretty solid sound quality, and has a few nifty features with no real drawbacks.
Subsonic for music streaming. I keep almost nothing on my phone anymore and it works great.
Ambling for audio books.
Dog catcher for podcasts. Older program but works great.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Spotify is the best music player I've used.
doubleTwist all the way, works great, looks great, sync great with its partner PC/Mac app.
