MS Voice Command SMS Reading and the new HTC Messaging System...... - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

This threas is meant for discussions and ideas.....
Any chance to make the famous Microsoft Voice Command reads SMS Messages without disabling HTC Messaging system via Zeynee cab ???
Any ideas ?
MSVC now reads emails on ROMs using HTC Messaging and the reason behind that is that the email handling application is still the old Microsoft System unlike the SMSs...
I used to disable HTC Messaging to get MSVC works, but in the latest 1.8 version of HTC Messaging Applications, it seems that Zeynee cab disables the MMS messages too, I just can not send or receive MMS messages EVEN AFTER INSTALLING ARCSOFT APPLICATION and that's why I have raised this thread...
Thanks for all.........

MMS and threaded SMS inbox

Hi folks. Can someone let me know what happens with MMSs in WM6.1 with the threaded SMS inbox?
I've got an emulator up and running with 6.1. I've also installed Arcsoft MMS 4.0.40.1 for Tornado. This puts the MMS inbox as part of the SMS inbox.
I've also written a tool to backup and restore your entire MAPI contents, including MMS. This is currently working great for SMS, and works when restoring an MMS to drafts, but I'm not sure what's supposed to happen in the threaded inbox view - so I can't tell if it's working or not.
So, my question is: what happens to an mms you receive? Does it live inline with threaded view, or do most people use a version of Arcsoft that has a separate message store?
Cheers
Matt

[solved] Text message account cannot be used to send email messages?

I recently upgraded my HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) from Windows mobile 5 to Windows Mobile 6.1.
Everything is working OK, but I just learned of this... on WM5, I could send an SMS text message to an email address. On Wm6.1, I get the error message "Text Message account cannot be used to send email messages". Is there another way to send SMS messages to an email address? Or, is there a setting somewhere (in the registry) that will allow me to select an email address as a SMS text recipient?
Thanks!
sms is std only a thing you can send to a telefone number
but an network can offer the service to pass on sms's to email address
so i suspect you need to get what ever 3th party program did it on your
wm5 rom and install that and it should work
if the program is not there you cant do anything with the reg as it's not std wm functionality

hmmmm... thanks for the hint. I'm not really sure what program I had under WM5 -- like I said, I have a Cingular 8125 and the WM5 was the "factory" installation.... does that give you any clues?
As far as I know I'm not running any special 3rd-party messaging client -- I assumed that the SMS stuff on my WM5 was the default Windows Mobile Messaging client... the interface on my new Windows Mobile 6.1 looks pretty much the same (except I can't select an email address as a recipient for an SMS message).
thanks

I found my answer... the HTC Diamond ROM that I had downloaded, was missing some registry settings to allow SMS-to-SMTP thru the AT&T phone network.
the answer was already on this site, sorry I didn't find it sooner!

VITO SMS chat 1.25 problem on HD2

i cannot not send out my sms using above program
anyone can help?
anyone hv tis problem pls help
no it wont' work with HTC Messaging Client active. You must disable HTC Messaging Client (and lose some Manila features) to get WinMo's SMS client re-activated. Then apps based on WinMo's SMS client like VITO SMS-Chat will work.
The way to do it - check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614&highlight=disable+HTC+Messaging

u means just install the cab will solve my problem??
The cab works great, only problem is it wipes mms off completely. Any advice on how to get mms back without bringing back HTC messaging?

alternative SMS Software

is there good SMS software for windows mobile, I dont mind paying for it. as long as its good to use.
have threaded sms conversations, etc.
245 view and not a single reply?
Havent used it on the HD2 yet however used it on my Touch. Vito SMS Chat is a great program. Loads fast, threaded convo, many skins available, scrolls fast etc. Overall i think its a great app to use for sms.
Unlike resco contact manager etc which is a great app as well containing threaded messaging, Vito purley is sms, it allows you to use your standard dialler etc.
yes vito sms chat is the best alternative to htc message, but....
if you don't disable htc sense (or at least htc message with this cab ) you can use alternative sms programs just to see incoming and outgoing messages, 'cause htc message "rules" over any other related program, so you can't send anything with the alternative program.
However, I've tried vito sms chat after disabling htc message and it works fine on my HD2
Last thing: if you disable htc message, you need also another app for mms (vito sms chat doesn't manage them)...arcsoft mms is the most recommended on this forum
Greetings

Vito SMS-Chat

Using 1.25 and having following problem: messages didn´t send and the orange icon is always displayed. Receiving messages works. With HTC messaging i can send and receive sms messages without any problem. Does some have the same problem and fix it?
HTC HD2 6.5

Moved as not software release.
