Don't know how I double posted place close

I think "new" is a little misleading. Try this. Theres a newly kanged rom based off cyan by kingclixx.

[REQ] screen off animation old tube television

I have read some other forums about this and i was curious if anyone knew for sure if the screen off animation "old tube tv animation" would not work with any other version of android OS except gingerbread and the reason had something to do with the framework in gingerbread.
i would really like to see this available for the thunderbolt but as far as i have read through the forums a gingerbread OS is not available as of yet for the thunderbolt.
also would like to see a mod that would allow me to change the default picture that is assigned to everyone without a picture in my contact list. ive seen it done when i was running infectedrom's virus rom but switched to perfect storm rom.
and is there anywhere that i can just look to see links to different mods without having to search through endless forums? i mean like one thread in a forum where someone has searched out everything thunderbolt or epic and posted all available links to roms. mods, and apps specifically for that phone.
i know i sound like an idiot but i really am spending a lot more time reading the forums than posting stupid questions like these. im trying to catch up lol
Maybe you should create a thread with a link to every mod ever created?? Would be nice huh
I have seen this on my wifes DInc and its awesome, I would love to see it for TB

What dirty was saying is that you should in fact make that thread, search out the mods ans create the thread.

It should look something like this one I made for the HD2 which eventually became a sticky. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=663845

MIUI Ported ETA

I´ve been looking for a MIUI ported rom for Our Lovely Galaxy 3 for like a Year or so.
Seems like June,2011 a group started trying to port it,they even posted some threads about it (what was working, and what wasn´t) but suddenly, people stopped talking about it.
Is there any ingoing project to Port MIUI ROM (COMPLETE,not just the ClockWidget,Launcher or w.e), including notification bar and animations ?
Let me know,
Sorry if its not at the right forum, but since it is a forum about development...
Thanks in advance
EDIT : This is the "PORT" im talking about, but seems like its not MIUI,its just another launcher that looks like it.
You really had to ask this in development? You couldn't have just posted this in the actual thread?
Wrong sub-section to post in.
Development = Actual work that progresses our phone. Even in the smallest aspect.
This doesn't do anything for us much.
In other words, you could just message them about it. Either way, you should find your answer.

Jazux and his team is porting MIUI but is having a break. (Because Jazux' phone is at the setvice center..) they will continue when he gets it back I guess?

Thanks, and sorry posting at the wrong thread.
Thanks Styloo aswell.
I hope they manage to do it right.
@haree Please close this thread. It is not development and it doesn't even mention in the title '[Q]' so the title is very misleading.

Exactly what I thought.
I was thinking there would be an ETA for it.
i believe they are waiting for the marcellusbe's Gingerbread AOSP port...but since he's busy with the CM7 currently, the MIUI port would take a little time
EDIT : NOT DEVELOPMENT

[Q] Similar NS4G thread?

I've looked high and low and cannot find the NS4G thread that is similar to this one for the Nexus S :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13556812&postcount=2
Am I missing something or is there none? I keep coming back here trying to get and idea of the newest roms and just get confused with the wall of text in the NS4G dev forums.
Pretty sure that's the only one, it even says that most of those are compatible with our 4G's.
PS: All of those aren't really "new" anymore, most of the new ROMS are on page 1&2 of the development section, after that most of the pages have been abandoned . Trust me at first its really confusing to look at every thread but once you flash most of them you find which ones you like and just stick with those few

Newest skyrocket ROM?

Hello, im moving over from my Xperia X10a over to a Skyrocket. It should come in the mail tomorrow or friday. I'm looking to get up to speed on what is the latest official and latest stable ROMs?
Im guessing the latest (international version not ATT) is ICS, right?
and probably the latest stable build out there is Jellybean?
I'm also looking for suggestions, I've always gone with latest official International versions, but if there is a stable jellybean rom with everything that works, im game. I'm looking at CM9 Stable right now, what prog do you guys use to flash? can someone point me in the right direction?
im trying to fast-track so I know what's what when the phone gets here.
Asking for suggestions as to which ROM you should use is a great way to get your post locked. Might want to edit your OP. Also, this should be in Q&A, not General.
There are several new ROMs that have come out in the last couple of weeks. I suggest you look at thread titles in the dev section, as almost everyone dates their latest release. Virtually everyone here uses CWM Touch or TWRP to flash. A few hate their phones and therefore use non-touch CWM.
Read the stickys I can tell you clearly have done no research at all which is a direct violation of rule one of xda's rules

I guess im not on the same track, I'll edit my post but im not sure what to take out...or what I said wrong?
I'm just looking for a simple "hey man everything has a particular issue right now besides ICS" I mean, I don't even know if there IS an unbranded U.S. ICS rom right now. I guess that's part of what im asking.

"I'm also looking for suggestions." One of prbassplayer's rules is no "best" threads. Saying, "I'm also looking for suggestions," is a pretty solid invitation for people to come in here and say use X or use Y or whatever and basically promote a specific dev's work, which is something that is typically frowned upon.
There are numerous ICS and JB ROMs out there for the Skyrocket. I'll again recommend you have a look through the Skyrocket dev forum, because the only way for you to decide on a ROM is to read up on what each one offers and decide which works best for you as a starter.
JB is not stable in any SR ROM that I'm aware of, by the way.

We can't suggest roms as we feel it's unfair and creates trolling and other issues the rest you can read up on and research for yourself

gotcha! thanks. now I see how I could have worded it differently. now that I know there are no stable JB roms out yet, I know where to look. I appreciate it.
This thread is very close to a "whats best" thread and will be locking. Also posting int he correct forum will also help like this should have been in Q&A.

Nexus 5 dev vs nexus 5 original dev?

I'm probably missing something obvious and will be hounded for it, But what is the difference between these two subforums?

Heh, yeah, threads like this are usually looked down upon, so I'll answer your question before someone comes in and is rude to you. Just some advice, you might try the search function next time, or if you already did, try broadening the search to other sub-forums on XDA.
Original Development is for when the developer creates something new and unique. A new ROM or kernel that they built is a good example.
Development is for tweaks or additions to things already in existence. Maybe a UI tweak in a ROM, or a ROM built by taking bits and pieces of different ROMs and combining them. Maybe slight kernel tweaks to someone else's kernel.
Also, not sure if you noticed, but the forums have a sticky at the top (forum rules) - that usually helps figure out what goes where.
that makes sense. thanks. it's the first i've noticed seperate dev subforums like that. I looked in the stickies and did catch anything that explained an differences.
