Forgive me, i searched and searched and found nothing.
I have a Sprint HTC Touch Pro, on Boost mobile. Everything works great (sprint picture mail sucks and is very slow, but whatever) anyhow, you guessed it, teh slide out keyboard dumped on me after 2 months of use.
I have tried all the tutorials, taped the ribbon cables, and i am on the stock rom. It wont work.
Aside form being a PITA, i cant use the web browser. I can't find a way to get Opera or IE or Skyfire to allow me to start an on screen keyboard so i can type an address. if i click an email or text link it works fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

I have been playing with Pocket PC for years and yet there is one issue that I really don't understand.
With WM5, Why would the custom installed SIP input methods such as T9 Phone pad would not load sometimes? Only the standard keyboard would load when I select the phone pad. I have to reset a couple of times and sometimes it loads.
WHY?
Anyone please give me an idea... Thanks...
Any news on this?
I encountered the same problem. The custom keyboard I use (which is signed and worked fine on WM 2003) some times stops working. It can be fine for a day or two, but then I can't select it (or any other custom keyboard) only the default English keyboard comes up until I reset the device. A few other people I know have observed the same problem on different WM5 devices.
P.S. I used no other 3rd party software, the apps that ran were mainly Excel, Messaging and Internet Explorer so I can only guess it is an OS related bug.

Thanks hanmin, but both of these threads just deal with another way of changing the SIP provided the one you want can load.
The problem I am facing is that at some point the keyboard will stop loading completely until I reset the device.
Unfortunately, because it usually takes quite a bit of use before this happens, and it seems to be somewhat random occurrence I haven't been able to trace the exact circumstances of the failure.
Oh.
I have the similar problem too. Some customized input just do not load correctly. I had a few input methods installed, and I've noticed that, upon a soft reset, if I were to use SIP-A first, it will be 'dead' unless I do another soft reset. However, if I were to use SIP-B first, then load SIP-A, it will be fine throughout the session. See if you are having the same problem.
Hmm, that's a bit different from my problem, where all custom SIPs first works then don't but here is a question:
Are SIP-A and SIP-B from the same company? Perhaps they are using some shared component which one fails to load but other succeeds?
Just a thought...
Hi folks,
As I have locked out my SPV-M2000 and can't figure out the keys for the keyboard (see here), I need to try and track down some of the SMS/MMS messages stored on the device.
I can still browse via my PC, but I don't know where they will be stored or if I can retrieve them.
Any ideas?
Well, changes are, if you were to copy everything off your phone, and copy them all over back to them, chances are the stuff will remain.
However, I think it ought to be best if you can solve your keyboard problem.
For your keyboard, I'm not sure how a BA works, but default a Wizard keyboard starts without Cap, and a CAP will be on until you off it. And Shift and Fn will only function while you are holding it (kinda like the Shift key on your PC keyboard). I'm not sure, probably you've got your number wrong? As I guess, you will need to use the Fn key for typing a number (not sure how your keyboard goes).
ANYWAY, I guess you aren't getting much of a respond because you've not got your info out as much as you should. First of all, it may be not as "generally" as you think. And, not all people know what a M2000 is and they don't borther to look for it. Although I hate people with multiple posts, I guess it would be good if you could repost this on the BlueAngel forum and try your luck there, eps the keyboard issue seems very easy to solve.
for you IM+ users out there...i'm having a big problem getting this to run properly on my Touch. I've used it before on my MDA and Wing with no issues at all, except the ocassional disconnect. Here's the problem: when i pull up the soft keyboard to type, the screen does not format correctly (i.e., the chat box is behind the keyboard) and when I attempt to close the keyboard, part of it stays open and i'm not still not able to see the chat window. It's basically nonfunctional like this. I've tried older versions and have had the same issue. Is this a problem with non-sliding keyboard phones? any help would be appreciated as I really love this program and want to continue using it.
the only program i've found that can compete with IM+ is Palringo..but I have a problem with getting disconnected and getting the error message "you've been connecting and disconnecting." anyone know a fix for this as well?
yea i have the same problem with IM+
it touchflo breaking it i built my own rom to fix it pm me if u need it
So, I've recently gone from using an AT&T 8525, to a BlackJack II, and now to the HTC Touch Cruise. The 8525 was a great phone, and I'd modded it to be nearly identical to the Touch Cruise but with the option of the slide-out keyboard when I needed it. Then the unit started "white screening" on Christmas day, so I purchased a BlackJack II a few days later. When I realized how much I missed wireless and the touch screen, I finally broke down and bought the Touch Cruise I'd REALLY wanted in the first place.
So, having joined the Skyfire Beta VERY early on... and having downloaded the beta browser on my BlackJack II, I was anxious to try it on my HTC Touch Cruise. But, after instaling the program, I've hit an early snag. The browser requires my Skyfire username and password to run, but when I go to enter than info, the "touch keyboard" mode only enters numbers. It's ignoring the letters and not letting me enter my info!
I tried going into settings, changing to the "regular" keyboard, and restarting Skyfire, but it starts back up with the Touch Keyboard everytime. So the only thing I can do is click Exit.
Guess I'll try the NON-touchscreen version on my Touch Cruise, but it just SUCKS that I can't try a single web page after installing the program. Have e-mailed Skyfire and waiting to hear from them.
You could try remote screen software like pocket controller to use your desktop keyboard to enter your details.

Crazy I was just about to say the same thing. Search for MyMobiler if you don't already have it.
This is a little bizarre. I've been using both TAEL's and Energy's ROMs since I've had my Fuze. I decided to try Energy's latest ROM and re-flashed. When I try to use the hardware keyboard now, it stops working. After I type a character, a different character typically gets inserted - usually with a colon after it. Then, when I go to something like Resco explorer, the "@" character keeps getting entered non-stop. After hitting a few buttons, the keyboard stops responding altogether.
I re-flashed the same TAEL ROM I was previously using - with a working hardware keyboard - and I get the same thing! (And, yes, I selected the Fuze keyboard in the Settings function.)
This is NOT a hardware issue - and I don't believe it has anything to do with the custom ROMS. The reason I believe this is that when I load Android 2.2 from my SD card, the hardware keyboard works perfectly.
I'm bewildered. Is there something I can do to clear the memory...like when you reformat at hard drive on a PC. Just a thought. Or is it possible that there's some setting that isn't getting cleared when I re-flash?
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
Try to replace keyboard drivers via Resco Explorer

Sounds like a good idea. If I was in Windows on my desktop, I'd know exactly how to go into Device Manager to uninstall, reinstall or update my drivers. I've never done so in Windows Mobile. Any help in replacing the drivers would be greatly appreciated - even if you were able to point me to an existing link.
Thanks,
Dave
