disable call function - General Questions and Answers

good day masters!
is there a way to completely disabling the phone funtion (outgoing incoming call) and just keeping only the SMS Messaging funtion only? just like sending messages using Broadband USB Modem.
ive tried some call blocking and filtering function programs (magicall, smartsms, etch) but i preferred not to use them. all of them doesnt completely block call.
honestly, im just avoiding a call but i still want to send/recieve messages.
thanks

Any Apps that Block Incoming Calls?

Are there any apps that can block incoming calls from certain numbers? Blacklisting numbers I guess.
Spb Phone Suite has this and a few other features, but not free, and is worth the money. You can always try it free for 15 days.
There is a free version, I used to use it, DANG I don't remember the name! I remember you had to manually start it, the interface was green, I want to say v1.4 for some reason. It had the blacklist feaure, add phone calls to calendar, and had a phone block too, to prevent calling certain numbers.
EDIT: I want to say it was Call Firewall v1.4
I also put my vote in for spb Phone Suite....does great at blocking calls...as well as setting phone profiles...
I agree, i also vote for SPB Phone Suite.
You can also try this.

Call Blocking / Screening Program?

I've heard about the trick in the contacts screen to send the call to voicemail, but don't have that option on my phone.
Does anybody know of a good call blocking program that'll work? It's hard to believe that we don't have something like iBlackList...
You can block calls via the auto-reject (under call settings in the settings menu I believe).
Also, after someone calls you can select the number in the recent calls list and add them to the reject list.
download call filter from the market. It works very well.
Ah, the auto reject feature is nice. I'll also check out call filter

Real call blocker?

Every blocker ive tried just hangs up after connecting. But I have urgent need of an actual call blocker that will send straight to voicemail or an app that will block all voice calls as if the phone is off.
Also, is there a way to block voice but keep SMS?
Thanks in advance.

try Gblocker
Its just like all the others - connects then blocks. Perhaps theres a root app to do what i require?
If you have the number saved as a contact you can edit contact details and there is an option to send straight to voicemail

Th only one which is working perfct for me including the feature you are asking is CallFilter Pro. Try the free version first to check.
Yep, the two best ones are made by the same company:
Root Call Blocker (for general use):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.rootcallblocker.beta
Call Master (for advanced users):
https://market.android.com/details?id=fahrbot.apps.blacklist
These are the only blockers that completely block everything without turning the screen on. Need to be rooted though.

Android App to Block Unknown Callers?

So I keep getting calls from auto-dialers coming as "Unknown" on Caller ID.. I answer and it's that 5 second delay then someone in a foreign country asking me to sign up for a newspaper or refinance. I want to ELIMINATE these calls. I have a block list that works good in Android, but it doesn't allow me to ass Unknown to blocked calls... I saw some posts from several years back, but nothing recent. Is there anything good out there today that I can install to block unknown\unavailable calls from coming through to my phone?
Thanks!

Yeah I saw that but the screen still flashes on and shows the missed call, even when I click delete it from call log. I wish there was one what didn't even process the call, like the built in blocker.
This should be an advanced feature of Google Voice as well. Anyone been getting calls from 0000123456 recently? Haven't been able to pick up yet, but I have missed two calls from this number now. Saw somewhere it might be skype caller. Wonder what could be done by porting Asterik into the Android kernel and having some nifty virtual PBX features built in!

The one that drives me nuts is the calls from Indian telemarketers.... US telemarketers are required by law to send ANI with their calls, but calls coming from outside the US don't have to comply, or aren't able to be enforced. I say if someone doesn't present their #, I ought to be able to reject them from getting through to my phone.
We in India are also facing major trouble with telemarketing calls & after being put to notice by the supreme court they have now started sending text sms, the best defense I have found against this is "Extreme Call Blocker Droid" this can block all private numbers or you can specify a list of starting numbers eg. block all numbers starting with 800
*Hangup mode block voice mail
*Block anonymous/private/unknown/blacklist calls
*Block unknown/blacklist SMS,
*Built-in private SMS mail box hide private txt msg
*Schedule on Google calendar to decide when to block.
*Hide private number calls in/out, no call log.

You can customize it to your hearts content & have a peace full day.
To trace the callers we have a site in India which you can use for tracking all kinds of numbers & text IDs.
http://www.indiatrace.com/index.php
then there are free apps too like blacklist-free & many other with similar features.

The one I use is called Easy Filter Call blocker. It can block calls and sms messages, including unknown numbers. You can set it to block them without notifying you if you want it to.

Block unknown Callers
You can block unknown callers by using some advanced phones.
in these phones you can either blacklist some selected numbers or reject all unknown mobile numbers (numbers which are not added in your SIM / phone's phonebook will get rejected).
Root call blocker pro. Its in the market.. Works great and doesnt show the caller, it just rejects it right away in the background and you can have notification of when calls are blocked. Also has sms block

Internet Calling on ICS

Hi, I have a Rogers i727R Skyrocket
The phone works great, when I setup my SIP accounts all works well, I can make outgoing calls on the LTE network, but incoming calls do not work, I have enabled allow incoming calls.
If I go on wi-fi, everything works, incoming and outgoing calls, but once I change it to the mobile data, I can only make calls, but not receive them.
I don't want to forward to my cell phone, I want them to come in directly to my SIP account.
Again, If I go on wi-fi, incoming calls work, if I disconnect wifi, incoming calls do not work, but I can make outgoing calls.
Thanks anyone for your help.
Ive had this post for days and yet no one responds, does no one have a solution.

I don't think you have that option unless you use a 3rd party app. Know that this will eat battery having inbound active full time.
Here's what I do; I have my VoIP number set to a ring group. It will ring my ATA house phone, the work VoIP phone, and my cell number. I pickup on the deskphone if I'm there otherwise I take it on the cell. I then use the droid VoIP for outgoing only. I never have to give out my cell number yet I have it handy.
