[APP] Theme your rom to your own liking - Nexus One Themes and Apps

Using ANDROID COMMANDER Anyone from the brand spankin new android user to even the most seasoned of us android folks can take bits and pieces from your favorite roms and make them fit together as if you cooked your own. For example i am a HUGE fan of cyanogen and his custom live wallpaper but didnt want to wait for a stable CM6, so i took the apk's and pushed them to a kango/leofroyo mix added spare parts and a few things i like from other roms......then using ANDROID COMMANDER one can even (if you know where to look) customize the notification bar(along with EVERYTHING ELSE) by again shredding your favorite roms...taking the files and pretty much cutting and pasting...modding the image files to your own liking and making your phone as unique as your style !!!!!!!!!

More Pics
here is the status bar photos pieces from leofroyo 1.1.1 i didnt like then 1.2 i liked so i stuck the parts i liked together into my own rom by modding the framekwork.apk file and the layout status bar.xmls

ROM Kitchen/tweaks

I'm coming from a Captivate, and on the Captivate I was able to package & download a bunch of little tweaks like different battery icons, themed market, etc.
Can I do that on the Inspire? I'm running CM7 & I love it, but there are a couple small UI things like that (circle battery, etc.) I'd like to change, but can't find on the forum anywhere.
yeah you can package your own update.zip or any other zip file just like on other android phones. i'm sure online kitchen is still available too, for example modaco ROMs used to have the online kitchen where you pick each component of the ROM you want, and it bakes it all together for you to download and flash. brilliant!

[Looking For] All the UI png files

One thing I don't care for in WebOS is the bubbly (rounded edges). I want to go through and clean that all up with a custom theme. Assuming one doesn't exist already, I can make one pretty quickly - if someone can get me all those files.
Thanks

[Q] Minimalistic Theme(s)?

Hi everyone.
I come from a Motorola Backflip, that although was a POS device, and didn't get root until ~6 months after release, I used to run CM6/CM7 on it and enjoyed using custom themes. In particular, I really enjoyed those slick, minimalistic themes. I know that there is a popular theme being developed (BlueICS or something) and I don't really dig the extravagant graphics and shading and everything, and much prefer a simple, minimalistic approach to theming. I know that once we get CyanogenMod fully ported to this device, a big number of options will open up for us, but as of right now, is anyone working on any other themes for the existing ROMs we have for this device? Such as a minimalistic theme? Sorry that I don't have any examples of what I'm looking for but I'm sure if you search for some you'll find some good ones around XDA. I'm sure some other people also prefer a similar look to their device and I was just wondering if anyone more capable than myself had considered working on such a theme.
Nova
I know its not the same, but have you tried using Nova?
I am on cleanROM 2.5 SE and I found the Sense a bit to "busy", I flashed the blueICS theme, and I liked the blue icons in notification as well as some of the other changes that were made it it, but I found using the free version of Nova was more then enough to simplify the general feel of the app drawer and desktop. This takes a little work and would be easier to just flash a theme, but its working great for me, and no theme would make it feel perfect for me?
If that makes sense?
or I could be completely off topic...
Hi, yeah, I'm currently running CleanROM DE and using Apex Launcher and I agree that the launcher does make a difference in the overall look/feel of the device but I'm talking about a full, complete themeing of the device (including stock HTC Sense apps. Here, I included some links of some kinds of themes that I'm talking about (yes, I know that some are for Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread). I also took some screenshots of them in case you don't feel like opening the links.

Got it, currently I have a stack of paps that allow me to get a similar appearance to the dark theme above. It would be nice if a gracious themer would create such a wonderful

[Q] Beginner to customizing tablets

I'm coming straight from an iPhone user that loves to customize on my phone everything including keyboard layouts, icons, themes, and anything that's UI related that I can just download and install with simple instructions.
Can anyone tell/teach me how I can do the same with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 that is currently using CM10 Nightlies. I know there's themes from various launchers but all of the themes offered don't suit my needs for building a minimalistic UI, much like the ones users submit on Screenlicious.com. There's also ROMs and Kernels but all of this is relatively new terms to me and I would like to learn it all and if possible, become a theme maker myself if it's not out of my reach. Comprehensive tutorial links would help. Thank you and sorry for being a big newbie.

Well if you are from iPhone then I suggest learning the Android related things
custom kernel=> better performance, battery, overclocking CPU
custom rom=> customized stock rom I.e deleted crappy apps, themed stock rom and added tweaks
if you are planning on making themes then you should know that CM has an inbuilt theme changer app. To change themes you have to install a theme apk and then change the ttheme from theme manager app. To make themes apk u have to change mainly framework.apk and SystemUi.apk
Or else you can make a flashable zip and pack your themed apps inside that zip

[Needed] Custom Dark Themes for Stock Roms

I wanted to know if anyone out there has got a custom theme installed for stock roms.
I seen some for CM..
I want my menu's to be dark background based but not after have a custom rom to do it.
I looked through this sub forum and seen nothing related..
Thanks if anyone has any suggestions or ideas on how i can start patching it myself.
If i knew where the stuff is controlled form that would help.
I have experience doing all kinds of thing such as making a Rockbox Theme.
I don't think anyone has done any yet, I've done AOSP signal cluster and navbar mods but haven't touched the theme yet. If you use xposed "lollipop themer" seems to be popular for theming stock ROMs.
Here's a great guide and its always evolving and improving...

[Guide][How to theme lollipop roms with ease]
Interesting thanks.. 230 pages on that link wow LOL
Sadly it seems you would have to decompile a lot of apk's.
I wasn't sure if there was just some settings somewhere (in 1 place)
You would think the Android dev's would at least support some basic color theme changes right ?
I am surprised there is no built in support for this idea.
I have no doubt a lot of people out there want dark backgrounds like me.

The majority of the system can be pretty easily themed. Its framework, systemui, settings, dialer and phone. Then there's guys like team black out who do a lot of 3rd party apps and gapps. If there were more interest from the stock ROM users I'd do a dark system theme but I've done a few mods here and people don't seem to interested because of all the custom ROMs we have.
thanks for more info.. never heard of Team Black no idea what that is about but i love it already LOL
i am bonkers for patching everything i can so it's black
i'm an Android noob and getting my crash course done ahha
i had a Samsung Galaxy S3 way back for a while then broke it..
i pulled up and broke the digitizer under the glass and had to sell it for parts on ebay.
listed honestly as broken i still got $60 though
I even threw in the unused glass repair kit i had ready.
So my interests are cracking, modding / patching software usually on windows.
i have experience going back 15 years on linux but i drop it and forget lots by the time i go back to Nix.
i also have a passion for graphics modding.. i am good at editing graphic UI's and pic's etc
I did a popular Rockbox theme for the Fuze+ PMP too called Carbon.
I have the same theme on that as my Windows desktop theme and WMC theme and even on my phone. (on my old 2008 phone and wallpaper on my Moto-E)
A whole suite of digital devices that all have a theme i made
But hey guy of you get motivated and have the time go for it i bet many of us would like some black'ness
Projects can eat up a lot of time.. my Fuze+ Rockbox theme took me months.
I created icon sets and statusbar icons many i made by drawing out 1 pixel at a time with Fireworks.
anyway lol
yeah many of us use the stock rom (often with Squid's custom kernel + TWRP)
I have looked at CM and others and felt it was just too much.
i appreciate their work though even if i choose not to use it.
A lot of people do a lot on the web and share it all for nothing in return.. respect for them !
i found this place hacking an old phone back in 2008 and recently came back for Android..
Check this out...
