Restoring from Titanium Backup - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

I did a full System and App backup with Titanium and that went fine.
I deleted a couple of Apps from the X10 and then tried to retore them with TB, I couldn't. In the list of TB Apps the ones I want to restore show as "not installed" and when I click on one of them the only option is "delete". If I click on an App that is still on the X10 them I have an option to "restore".
I think it would be better to be able to restore the apps that I've deleted and not so much the ones that are still on the X10, no?
Install Unknown and Debugging are set properally.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks

Nope same issue here.. its usually I think the ones you download that are available for restoring rather than the stock apps..

Titanium Backup does not backup automatically ?

Ok, I have the latest version installed, app is on ignore list in my Task Manager and still it does not make automatic backup on given time ? What is the problem ? Does anyone else have this problem ? I want it to make silent backup on Monday while I am sleeping but nothing happened. Actually it was 02:00 on Monday, it should be last night then.
Cheers
Anyone has done scheduled backup in this app ?

Working fine for me ?
Just tested this and worked fine for me ?
Am on rooted handset, running on the R2BA023 firmware (rooted).
Sheet, mine is 020 rooted. Will try again, dont know what could be the problem. I am talking about nackup when the screen is off and the phone is on sleep, over night. Hope you have tried that and that it works.
Wait, does TB backup phonebook, SMS etc ? I have just read that it doesnt backup that !?!?!? What else TB doesnt backup ?
It doesn't really backup stock apps. I mean it says its backed up but if u try to reinstall any if them the option for restore is blacked out!! although some sortof file its backed up within the folders but no apks.. I think they were .tar files or something! hope it helps!!

No, I dont need it to backup stock apps, I need it to backup data from those stock apps, such as phonebook entries, received/sent SMS etc. Can it do that ? Hope it can...
Erm I don't think it does!! Never has for me anyway
However for both, either use mybackup from the market
Or
the inbuilt backup & restore app (unles uve removed it)
http://db.tt/DlNSuy
the backup data option is usually the settings backed up for that app!

Backup stock apps and during restore it prompts you whether you want to restore app, app data or both.

titanium backup

wouldnt it be good idea to make a sticky about the fact that titanium backup causes more problems than its good for, most of the posts i have read about probs have one thing in common they all tried to restore a titanium back up now this wont work and that fc's or it just wont stop rebooting, factory reset and flash seems to always work and if ya.want a different kernel let it boot one time then install the kernel, naturally after you wiped cache and delvik again. those two ways always seem to work

Never, ever restore system data. I bet if everyone that had a problem only hit "restore missing user apps" there wouldn't be a problem.

Titanium backup rarely causes problems unless you restore system apps. Tibu is one of the most useful apps in the market, I would never discourage anyone from using it. It's especially helpful to have backups of an app that gets updated & then you find out the update breaks something or removes a good feature.

No problems here. You just have to be smart about what you restore. There is no "one click" method.
I think we are looking at user error ... but blame the software if you must.
As others have pointed out, I've never had an issue with Titanium Backup. Great software! Just do not restore system apps + data.

Ha, ditto.
Can we ditch rom manager or do you have to have it installed for CWR?
now if only there was something for unrooted phones to backup before they root so they could avoid that initial loss

I have had a problem with titanium backup, but it might be a setting. I restored using Titanium Backup from my Droid Incredible with no apparent issues to my 1st Thunderbolt. I did a backup w/ both Titanium and MybackupPro before swapping out my Thunderbolts. I always backup twice on my phones in case something goes wrong. Oh FYI it did go wrong before I returned the Thunderbolt I copied the MyBackup, but forgot the Titanium data. This is why i always double my efforts as I always forget something.
On my 2nd Thunderbolt I started to restore MyBackupPro data after unchecking everything that was a system app. I never looked into how to have MyBackupPro only copy user apps+data since I discovered Titanium. As soon as I went into Market Place multiple app updates downloaded.
For reasons that I am not sure why I decided to do it I did a hard reset to factory defaults. I copied my incredible data back over to the 2nd Thunderbolt and did a restore. None of the apps required updating from an older backup. I'm just wondering if something didn't restore correctly to market?

Thats funny because I was just reading that thread thinking "where the hell did my post go"?
This may be a dumb question, but should you let apps download automatically after a wipe / new Rom install, and then have TB restore some apps with user data I need? Or is it better the skip the automatic download altogether and restore everything through TB? Thanks!

I'm stock and rooted. Used ROM manager to install CWR, then Titanium Pro to uninstall ROM.

The only issue I have had with titanium backup is that when I went to restore my apps and their data it did not seem to restore any of the data, just the apps. I was a little discouraged at first but then figured maybe the original location on my old droid X might have been different then where it is on the Thunderbolt. I doubt it but that's what I keep telling myself since the app data won't restore.
Recently had problems with restoring app data as well...hmmm... In my case it is probably user error.
Without Titanium Backup, I would not be as willing to try new ROMs. As with all things relating to rooting and flashing custom ROMs, you have to learn how to use the tools and understand their limitations.

I've had the same problem when moving to a GB-based ROM. So what is this "user error" that we're committing?

It's up to you really but that's how I do it. Just restore the data to apps that need that data and you can restore apps that didn't D/l from market and Ti will link them to the market so you'll still get updates.
I have no problem with TiBackup restoring data. When I move to GB ROMs (maybe that's just coincidence) Ti 'forgets' my settings so I have to setup my custom labels and scheduled backups again. I used to backup and restore texts (which is system data) but since switching between Froyo and Gingerbread ROMs I've gotten a separate app to do that if I want to take my SMS/MMS to my new ROM. Never backup/restore system data. I wish there was a way to exclude system data in TiBackup without also excluding uninstalled.

How do you guys restore apps and settings from switching between roms!!

I know this is a noob question, but how does everyone reinstall there settings and apps after superwipes? Do you guys use titanium? Cause I thought titanium restores like that made crashes. I'm going from HD 3.6.11 to 6.0.1..

Yes titanium is the way most here restore and back up apps. The trick is to restore apps with data only and NOT system data. Restoring system data from another rom to a new different rom will conflict and cause force closes. Kinda self explanatory if you think about it a bit. But bottom line titanium is the way to go when traveling from rom to rom. Titanium is good, but nandroid backups is THE way to back up your set up prior to flashing new stuff. Happy flashing.
But you don't need to restore your system settings other than bt profiles and wifi access points.
When I was using my Desire I used to use mybackup pro. It is a great app. Try it. It will restore your apk's as well as data.

Download titanium backup. Click on the backup/restore tab. Then tap your menu button on your phone. Hit batch. Backup user apps. That will put a folder in your sdcard called TitaniumBackup with your backups in it. After flashing a new rom, download titanium backup again and go to batch. And hit restore user apps with data

+1 for titianium.
as far as contacts go, you have these backed up automatically to your gmail account when you set it up, or do a manual export to your sd card from within the 'people' app.
how about the green system info
My question is similar and having learnt the hard way when installing the system apps and data causing new ROM to FC often.
However, other than the "missing app and data" do you restore anything else? which is safe to do? I assume the account info, access point, MMS is ok? How about the desktop? Is there a way to restore how the apps were organized (i.e. the folders they are placed)?
Also, when you reinstall titanium backup after a new ROM, will it automatically know you can download the pro version if it's bought in market place? Or else, how can one avoid having to pay again to reinstall?
Thx.
You can restore SMS & MMS with the stock Messaging-Program.
Thats the way I do it: Save Apps with Titanium, Store Messages & Contacts to SD-Card and make Screenshots from my desktop´s.
When you change the OS, you can´t restore Systemsettings. Like the Desktop as well.
The Titanium Pro can be activated on a different OS Version. Just download the free one and activate it by the given Key from the paied Version.
Use Titanium Backup its the best one out for android os
So take a screen shots of the folders the apps r in and just reorganized it all over? There's no way to do it automatically then?
Thx

There is a system setting for allowing you to backup the Sense desktop. I forget exactly whatever its called in titanium but it does work after you flash a new Rom and need to restore.

Titanium Backup problem

Hi, before you claim re-post I have searched all over the forums for this but haven't found any to fit my situation. Right now, I have a myTouch Q from Tmobile and when I rooted my phone a while back, I installed titanium backup to backup all my system apps before I uninstalled the unnecessary ones. I want to unroot my phone now, but before I do I wanted to restore all my system apps (browser, music, calculator...I used things like dolphin, songbird, and realcalc). When I try to individually restore the backups it just spins endlessly attempting to restore the app. I have tried checking/unchecking USB debugging mode. Any ideas as to why this is happening?
Go to Preference-->App Processing mode
And change it there is three modes choose the best
