Moving all contacts from my Kaizer to my Rhodium, kiazer usb port broke. - General Questions and Answers

Anyone know how I can do this via storage card? Tried sprite backup, buts its giving me issues.

PIM Backup save to storage card and run restore on other phone is the norm.
I don't use PIM Backup so have attached NS Contacts Backup same principle as above.

Thanks! I actually downloaded a program shortly afterword that exported them to CSV and then re-imported them! Thank you though!

PIM Backup
Hey,
if you have an SD card slot you can use PIM Backup to create a local backup file. Just were looking for something like this yesterday and this prog was the best and it is freeware. Just look here in this forum...

P.S.: Do not install Interkey except you like to hard reset your PPC

PIM Organizer restore?

PIM Organizer latest version is free. I had to hard-reset my TD2, so I thought: lets make a backup of my messages (sms and mail).
After some lines running over my screen, I found in the progfiles/pimorganizer/smsbackup files. Must be safe, I thought.
So, I did the hard reset and installed everything after that. However, starting PIM Organizer and pressing Messages/Restore didn't restore a single sms or mail...
Anyone some ideas? Do I have to move some folders so P.O. can find it perhaps?
Hello,
I use PIM Organizer all the time and it works great. I store my backup file on my SD card, so when I flash my phone with a new rom or do a hard-reset I can restore all my contacts etc with PIM Organizer.
You've probably stored your backup file on your phones harddrive (progfiles/pimorganizer) and so it has been deleted with the hard-reset.
Store the backup file on your SD for future use, as for now...I'm afraid that you've lost all your contacts etc.
Cheers!

Help! I installed a new rom but my Contacts are gone!?

I went through Windows Mobile Device Center, synced all my settings before I installed a new Rom, but now it's all gone!?
Please help, I had over 200 contacts and important events!
I also did a "Microsoft my phone", and I can access it, but I have no idea what do to with it.
Thank you.
Install and run My Phone on the new rom, and sync it.
Your contacts should Sync again from your PC when it sees the new ROM. You might have to delete and re-establish the partnership.
For the future, use Sprite Backup. It has a great Restore Merge Feature that will re-install all your apps and settings to a new ROM. They even claim it will move them to a different phone.
Sprite also keeps self-executing backups on your SD Card. If you botch up something, you can quickly put it back the way it was at the last Backup. It will also backup to your your PC for another level of protection. Don't forget to periodically copy the contents of your SD Card to your PC and another safe place. I'd be more concerned about loosing that then anything on my phone.
I don't know if MS cloud backup works but I certainly wouldn't rely on it. Just ask the Sidekick users. I guess if your house burned down it might be helpful. You can do the same thing by just copying your Sprite Backups to another form of online storage. Most email providers provide some for free.
If it is important. BACKUP. BACKUP. BACKUP. BACKUP.

But they should still be somewhere on the computer. It synced on the last ROM.

Once you run myphone and login on the new ROM, sync it and your contacts should be there.
Also when you first plug in your phone to WMC you have to setup the phone and choose which items to sync(Contacs, Outlook, Music, etc) make sure that's setup correctly.

1) It didn't do anything except update the sync date on the Myphone site.
2) I can't check "contacts, events, etc", because there are none on the phone.
Ah, here we go.
It didn't connect properly. Thanks for the help!
You should have a fail-safe or two. I back up my contacts 3 different ways-Pimbackup (you should get this), SK tools backup, and I also copy pim.vol onto my storage card (this is not hard-you should do this). Weird things can happen. I mainly use sk tools to restore, because pimbackup has issues with 6.5 in my experience, but it's good to have multiple options (and doesn't take much effort). I also save a copy every so often on my pc, in case my card crashes.

Lost all contacts?

I wanted to flash a new ROM and wanted to backup my SMS and contacts. I used an app on the market (Super Backup : SMS & Contacts) and backed up. I don't know where the saved backup is now because its not in the folder where it usually saves in. Is it hidden? Deleted?
Thanks.
If it's not in the directory the application usually saves into, then it is probable that it was deleting during flashing for whatever reason. Try using Recuva by Piriform or another data retrieval tool to recovery them.
I've never heard of Recuva but I'll have a look at it now. Thanks!
Hi,
for sms backup you can test the free app from market "sms backup and restore". After backup your sms you can find the data on sdcard in folder SMSBackupRestore.
For backup Contacts the easiest way is to have a gmail account
Yeah it should of saved into that folder but it doesn't seem to be in that folder.
if there is really such backup process, that would be really great. i'll try it.
Next time save contacts to sim card then transfer contacts to phone from sim card.
