Best Apps with Camera/for pictures - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

I've recently discovered how cool having an 8 MP camera with me all the time is, and I wanted to know if people knew of cool apps that added something to the phones picture taking ability (editing pictures, taking them, etc).
Also, my friend and I are kind of in a battle of who can take better pictures. He has an iphone, so I kind of don't want to lose this one haha. He's actually good at photography, so I'm already starting behind the 8 ball...but I'm determined!

fx camera is nice for pre-made filters.

I agree, fx Camera and another one is PicSay Pro but it's more on the lines of after effects.

PicSay Pro is actually really useful. I've used it to show off the capabilities of Android a lot, and I really like it

I'm really liking the toy camera feature in fx camera. Is it me, or do the shots seem to have a slightly lower resolution than the standard camera?

if you want full rez with a bunch of really cool filters try vignette, frankly i think its the best camera app out there

FX is amazing, but you might want to try out vignette.
it can get complex with all of the filters and effects, but it's pretty cool

Ha nice PicSay work there. I was at a wedding the other day and there were little hats on the table, so of course I got creative with my fingers, the hats, and my Evo
Here's the results lol
Tiny finger man coulda been better, but the mob one worked out really well lol

The one with the bloodshot eyes. LOL

+1 for Vignette. A good camera/pic app was the one thing I was missing coming from the iPhone - where I loved Hipstamatic.
Vignette is awesome.

Try "Camera 360". It's great, has a refined UI that really makes it feel like a full featured camera and not just some app. Works great.

Really? I tried it and wasn't super impressed. Maybe I missed something though; what do you really like about it? (although I might go back just because it does seem to be able to take high resolution shots)

well the fact that its full rez, and the fact that certain filters need to have certain subjects in order to look good like this for example:
this is another
one i did while messing around with the london filter
anyway i think the default camera does a good job by itself,

Frelancerx, you have a great eye for photography, those pics look amazing.

+1 for vignette. Its has some really nice presets as well as custom features. Better than iphones hipstamatic imho.

Best camera app?

Would love to know what you guys think is the best camera app. (I would also like it to work with the front facing camera)
The only app I know of that can use the front facing camera is Tango. Tango is for video calling, works like Qik.
Fx camera is free and really nice IMHO

vinnette seems to be the best at the moment
but i'm pretty happy with the Stock camera app, it does what i need, abeit not has HQ as vinnette, but is good enough for a quick snap shot

That app turned my crappy Milestone 2 camera into a quite decent one. So much I paid for it and I don't even use the effects you get when you buy the app.
Om my friend's SGS he didn't think it made much of a difference tho.
I really can't spot any difference between the stock camera app and the 3rd party ones. The only app that has made a difference for me was HDR camera, but you have to keep the phone steady (absolutely steady, not in your hands, it has to be on a support or something) for like 7 seconds. Its not very practical but if you're looking for the best qualitty it is for you.

[APP] FX UI

I very rarely post, I'm just here for ROMs and apps and what not but I thought I would post this. http://www.digitalaria.com/
They have a creative UI called FX UI for Android and I have no clue if its ever been released but with MIUI out there now, I'm curious if this will ever see the light of day. Also here's the YouTube video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr7x7zDYRzI
And if this has already been post I apologize...and I just realized I linked the wrong YouTube video.
Thread moved to Themes/Apps. Nice find, though for me, the UI looks a bit too cumbersome. This may be useful for others though!
It's pretty good looking, but it seems like TAT Home, a really good UI that will never be published.
Always good to have another UI. Looks intersting...but might be just too much for me.
The picture widget is total WIN!! all I can say about it... Who's porting it? Lmao
When is a port coming out???

hahahahahahahaa
I didn't mean to be so blunt (was drinking when I posted)... but I'm a noob and I can tell just by looking at the video that this would take a ton of work from the ground up... This has got to be highly entangled with framework....
this and TAT, why are they just showboating?!? They do look great tho, wonder how the battery holds up with em

Alternate Camera App for Play

hey guys i just noticed that our camera doesnt support zoom -.-
is there anyway by how we can port some custom app or somthing by which we can enable zoom and hopefully HD video recording(assuming that its possible bcuz many phones having 5mp cameras have it)
and also it would be good if we could use the "R" button for taking pics
I've tried LOADS of camera apps for this exact reason, and most of them come up saying that the camera does not support zoom, so i guess it is the actual hardware, not the program that is to blame its a same really, the only thing letting this phone down so far, that i have found, is the camera on it, tho i was used to my Nokie N82 8mp, with its AMAZING camera!!
i know its sad why why SE doesnt make devices perfect!! all of the devices have some or the other thing missing
I see no point in digital zoom az its like cropping the full size picture!
There must be an app somewhere that allows zoom. Anyone tried to get the xperia x10 app?
I can't believe this a lot pf people complained how the iphone didn't have zoom now Sony does this?

+1 on that! Quality seriously degrades
Yea, digital zoom is mostly pointless.
All it does is degrade the picture quality by cropping it, which you can do on your PC after you have taken it.
I have another question.
Is there zoom during video?
Nope :S

Camera Zoom FX and Vignette support zoom and work ok after playing with settings. I think camera zoom FX compresses even unzoomed images to look worse than with stock camera. Vignette does not open right at default but after going through some setting I could fix it. Hope it helps.
I must say I was very surprised that SE haven't made a bespoke camera app for the XPlay, bit naff to have the basic GB one only
Guys, our camera hardware doesn't support any sort of zoom what so ever, disappointing I know. But quite honestly, zoom on a phones camera(unless its a pretty high megapixel camera), usually sucks.

I'm not bothered about having zoom in the app, as digital zoom is pointless and is less effective than zooming in to a full size pic with Photoshop or similar. What I would like is a fully fledged camera app though, with filters, proper settings, panorama/HDR mode etc which is all software so is perfectly possible.
Likewise, I have no interest in the zoom but is there any way to get a camera app with the interface like that on the Arc? I realise we can't have the 3D stuff/sweep etc. but just the interface would be good...can't stand the stock android app.

[Q] App Suggestions

Hey guys!
I've finally taken the plunge and done the whole ordeal to my HTC One S, installed a new rom and all. Not that i haven't done it before though.
I really enjoy that i have the freedom to choose my own apps now, that i haven't really got any bloat anymore. But on the other hand it's proven to
be a challenge to find fitting apps to fill in the gaps.
Can anyone recommend a good facebook client? i'm currently using flipster, and honestly it's decent. but i'd like something more in line with the material guidelines. there's no way i'm returning to the official facebook client.
and how about a camera app? i've searched everywhere, and it seems borderline impossible to find a camera that's lightweight, is capable of taking photos with a 16:9 aspect ratio and not be a total mess.
So what do you guys use?
Thanks in advance!

Google camera app?

Anyone else using the Google camera app on their s8 or s8 plus, specifically the snap dragon models? If so what is your opinion of it versus stock camera?
So far from my brief usage of the app I think it far surpasses the galaxy camera app.
Hold on, Getting Google Camera right now.
I have it with a pixel hdr mod and it's great here's some sample photos
Way worse than stock imo. Poor processing, less detail, worse colors. I think it's terrible honestly

Wow. I've taken several photos and compared them side by side and each time the Google camera app has better colors and all around looks better, even my wife and kids think so. I guess since they look so different it's throwing you off, but it is by far not terrible at all, at least in my experience.

Hardly. Are you saying it from the point of view of someone with photography experience? If not, I respectfully disagree entirely to put it lightly. From someone very into photography, it pales in comparison.

Photography experience or not I think it's safe to say and widely agreed upon that Samsungs camera oversaturates images and leaves them far too bright. In my experience tons of details are missing from the s8 stock camera app as opposed to the Google camera app. Perhaps your experience is different for whatever the reason may be. I can't speak on that.

Argue all you want, or go ask someone else with experience. Regardless of your opinion on color saturation, examine more than just that. Blow up an image and zoom in. Fine detail is slaughtered in the Google camera app. You're neutering your camera in order to avoid color saturation lol
