[BOOT ANIMATION] My first Boot Animation! - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

It's VERY basic right now but I'd like to add some more spice to it (like audio, haha). It's a play on the movie Jurassic Park when they're attempting to access the computer system.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfiQYRn7fBg
Feel free to try it out if you want.
I pushed it to the /system/media/bootanimation.zip location from adb.

lol works fine

This is awesome! I'm using this on my Evo

I really like this boot animation!
But, is there anyway we can get a pause for a few seconds in the beginning of the audio track in order for it to match up with when the screen is saying 'You didnt say the magic word"?
That would make it perfect, IMO.

pretty sure anything running an"droid" os can be considered a droid right?

Request for new animation
Looks great i like it a lot but i have to agree with the last post. Can i make suggestion? Instead of droid at the end how about root! So it would read Permission denied.... ROOT....Permission Granted. As that seems a little more appropriate. Can you make one with and with out audio. Otherwise great work!

Here is a GIF preview of the boot animation. Feel free to use this OP.

could anyone help me out with this.
I am having issues getting it to work. Ive downloaded the signed zips and flashed it using Anon_rA. it says that its successful, but next time it boots up its the regular cm7 animation.
not sure what i could be doing wrong. thanks

Yes its because the zip created is for roms with bootanimation located in system/customize/resource. Because your on CM7 your bootanimation is located in system/media. Better off using adb to push it there.
adb commands
1. adb remount
2. adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
3. adb reboot
Hope this helps you out man!

Not at all. Common misconceptions. Droid is a Motorola phone. Android is the operating system. If your being technical say u have an android phone. People always ask if i got a Droid and my evo is WAY BETTEr.
The boot animation is slick and funny as hell. Lol

Yes was using it before i uploaded it; you can too. LOOK HERE. i dont ul anything i dont test myself. you need a root access file explorer like root explorer. sometimes that doesnt even work though. if pushing doesnt work, just flash my mod. i install while im putting everything together, thats why i know it works, cus i never have a problem that way. any problems and ill help you get it going.

yeah...i wasn't wanting the whole mod. i just thought your version of swype is more fitting than the red droid incredible version i'm currently using. i tried the download and an install from andexplorer. no go. i didn't bother with a push install. i can try again.
nope. didn't work again. could you please confirm that you've managed to install this, and how you did it? i've tried installing over my own version, and after removing my version and wiping all data and cache then installing, and i've tried pushing to /system/app. i even tried pushing to /data/app.
all fail. installation failed is the message i get.
bump. mag, can you remove uninstall the copy of swype you have try the upload you put here on your own phone? still no worky.
and, why is the apk so much bigger than stock swype? my red swype apk is like half the size
Thanks for keyboard
P.S download is spelled wrong 'dowload' is what you said
I've tried every way possible and get the same. Great looking keyboard mod, would just love a way to install it. I will keep my eye on this thread, hopefully a working apk will be posted soon. Love your work, and thanks for your dedication.
yeah, i'm pretty sure it's borked, jeff.
I figured it out, with root explorer, move the apk to system/app and rename input 2 and match the permissions. It will then be in language and keyboard as a default. Enjoy.

@Davidukfl
here is your framework man! Make sure that you rename the files to just framework-res.apk. I just renamed them for your convenience!
Take the following steps to put it back on your phone:
USUAL DISCLAIMER: I'm not responsible if you brick your phone...blah blah blah
Connect your phone to your pc in charge only usb mode. Make sure the phone is recognized by your computer. Place the .apk file in the location of your choice.
Command prompt 1:
1) type adb devices (make sure your phone shows up)
2) type adb shell
3) type adb remount
4) type adb push <location of framework-res.apk> /system/framework/framework-res.apk
5) type adb remount
Your phone should reboot, and then be good to go.
I dont use fission, and haven't tested this, but it has worked for me when I have ported ROM's.
Enjoy!
alright thanks, works great.
What i did was remove the old framwork from the original theme file, re-zipped it and then applied the theme like normal.
then I followed your instructions and applied the framework seperately

[REQ-BOOTANIMATION] Droid X with Sound

Hi all.
I'm looking the bootanimation of Droid X with the sound and in 1080p. Unfortunately, the link in the description no longer works (megaupload link) and I search try desperately another link.
Someone could share this bootanimation with the sound please ?
Thanks.
I don't know about other boot animators, but I haven't been able to get boot sounds working. Supposedly, they have to be supported by the kernel, and the Nexus 5 stock kernel doesn't do it.
Even if the sound does not work, I would like the bootanimation.

Thats your boot animation. You may have to modify the desc.txt to fit the nexus screen, though.
I wasn't able to find the audio file :/

Make sure when you zip it back up, you aren't compressing it by setting compression level to "store".
Also, if your rom currently supports sound in boot animations, I put together a quick sound thats kinda similar. Feel free to use it if you like it.

If not, try google searching for sounds like "startup", "robotic", "initializing", that kinda thing. Maybe you'll find something that fits.

Ive been trying for a good portion of the day to get boot sounds working, and apparently it's a feature that has to be supported by the kernel. Also, the CM team hates it, and would rather boot audio never exist in CM at all. Some users have tried reaching out to the team members for help (and gotten pretty far), but ultimately it looks as though we aren't going to have boot audio in CyanogenMod. Bug report responded to by the man himself here: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-218
Of course this can change with different ROMs (possibly even Kernels), but i've already tried a couple new kernels as well, and had no luck.
Let me know if you find anything in the future that works for you!
After several searches, I have found for CM11 :/
Yeah I'd love for this boot animation to have sound and run on cm 11
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
hi,i read this thread to add a boot sound with cm11 base rom..
and problem was, as you write, that cm team hates boot sound so it's impossible to add it..
but there was some tricks,as example using /system/bin/stagefright command to start a boot sound creating a simple sh to add in init.d folder (stagefright -a -o powernon.mp3)..with last android 4.3 base seems that stagefright there was in /system/bin
But with my surprise in last cm base roms kk 4.4.2 8 (but also stock roms) stagefright command was deleted by /system/bin so it's impossible use this command to enable boot sound, and i don't know why was removed stagefright..Maybe now in KK roms there is another command that has substitued stagefright command?
PS the only system/bin command that i try to start a boot sound is "media dispatch play" that launch a media player automatically playing last song that you listen to..(try in terminal emulator)
teorically if you create a simple script with this command at boot should be playing last song..
you can try using an app boot shell (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kislay.bootshellcommand&hl=it)
but for me don't work
if you want you can search on Google some sh script (bootsnd.sh) or zip package (CM4DX-Bootsound.zip) where there is this trick..
Maybe someone can explain stagefright command on KK 4.4.2?

[Boot/Shutdown Animation] + EXTRAS - Doctor Who with sound!

Doctor Who Boot/Shutdown animation for the LG G3 with sound!
WARNING
This is a disclaimer: While this has been tested I am not responsible for ANY damage done to your device. I take no responsibility for bootloops, soft bricks, hard bricks, living brick monsters, your phone proving an omnipotent being fallible(thus negating all existence), your great aunt smoking bath salts, flying monkeys, hot pockets, obamacare, dingleberries, carnivorous dingleberries or Sundays. Use at your own risk!!
Secondary disclaimer: If you have carnivorous dingleberries then you have bigger problems to worry about - but for any phone related questions feel free to message me on here either privately or in the thread.
This is my personal bootanimation for the Sprint LG G3 and I thought I would share it with any other Doctor Who fans out there. The original video is not my work, I simply did the leg work to turn it into a bootanimation. Doctor Who and the Tardis are registered trademarks of the BBC. If using the flashable zips, make sure you make a nandroid in TWRP before flashing these just in case. If you want to revert back to your original bootanimation you will have to restore your backup. I hope to make flashable stock zips eventually but until then, restoring your backup is your best option.
*NEW!* FLASHABLE ZIPS!!
Requires root access and TWRP recovery!
Google Drive
Download:LG G3 Bootanimation with sound!
Download:Sprint G3 Bootanimation with sound!
THESE FILES BELOW ARE NOT FLASHABLE ZIPS! Requires root access!! You have to manually put it into your system/media folder and change permissions(-rw-r--r-- aka 644). Also, you will want to delete your old boot animation(make a backup!). The G3 has two bootanimations on Sprint so if you have the same model I do you will want to replace both bootanimation.zip and bootanimation_sprint.zip(Just rename this file and have two copies in system/media). Then manually put Power_On.ogg(Sprint also has two copies of the boot sound so rename a copy of this to PowerOn_Sprint.ogg as well) into system/media/audio/ui for working sound! You ALSO need to either replace the files in carrier/cust/poweron or just delete that folder altogether(That's what I did).
For the shutdown animation it's the same. Replace shutdownanimation.zip(and shutdownanimation_sprint.zip if you are on sprint) and PowerOff.ogg(PowerOff_Sprint.ogg) to have a new shutdown animation with sound.
I believe At&t, Verizon and Tmobile would be easier but have no way of testing. If anyone wants to give detailed directions for the other carriers, it would be greatly appreciated.
Again, make sure you have backups of your original files saved to your computer. For me if something didnt work I would get a black screen but it would still boot. Other phones can soft brick but it looks like the G3 isn't one of em - still, better safe than sorry! I never ask for donations but if you like/use it, you could always hit that thank button!

TARDIS LOCK/UNLOCK SOUNDS!
Below you will find two flashable zip files - one to change your lock sounds to the Tardis, another to change them back to stock. As always my disclaimer is in full effect - make a nandroid backup in TWRP just in case. Simply reboot into TWRP recovery, make a nandroid backup, then install your chosen flashable zip and reboot.

Fantastic Work! Only issue is I can't get the sound to work. I know the sound files work on the phone cause I opened them in the media player. Suggestions?

You can search the root partition of your phone and see if those files are anywhere else, then replace them. I know they are in system/media/audio/ui and the carrier/cust/ folders.....I can't remember if they were in system media with the bootanimations as well......
As long as they are in the right places with the right permissions they should work.
Sorry btw, I just saw this.
EDIT: Just realized this was the one I posted in the general forum. I'm on Sprint so I'm not sure where the other carrier's boot sounds are. If you find out which ones they are and what they are named exactly, let me know so I can update the OP.
You're a hero. I just got 2 people to drop their plans to get an Iphone 6 when they saw my phone turn on. Thanks a bunch!

Update - tardis lock and unlock sounds!
I've added Tardis Lock and Unlock sounds in a flashable zip file to the OP as well as a "Return to stock sounds" flashable zip in case you want to revert back.
