I've seen a lot of people move over from the Hero to the Evo within the forums. I'm just curious how they would be upgrade eligible? Sprint says I'm not eligible until October. Are these folks paying more money than the upgrade price? Just curious.

I'm with sprint for another year and I don't want to upgrade and sign a new contract.
The good thing is that my bill is only about $30.00 a month for 3,000 minutes, unlimited data, and unlimited text. (Radio shack employee plan)
I currently have an HTC Vogue and I've been using Jamezelle's android builds. I would love to get a new phone though, my girlfriend just got a HERO and I'm in love with it. I wouldn't mind having one, but that would mean buying one off of ebay, which I don't have good experiences with.
If I could get a HERO for about 250-299 I probably would, but I was wondering if their were any other CDMA phones that work well and play nice with Android.
Does anyone have any suggestions? (and prices)
I have the Hero, but now drool over the EVO. My next upgrade is not until October. I read somewhere on XDA that there is a way to avoid Sprint's ETF. I would like to start a new line with the EVO at $200 And then cancel my old line with my Hero. I can't afford the $600 price to pay for it outright, and the ETF would hit me too hard right now. I searched the forums for the info about avoiding ETF, but went through 10 pages without any luck and thought I would go to the people who know. I have one other question. If I did cancel my original line, would I be starting out with Sprint all over again? I mean, would I loose my Sprint Premier status? Thanks.
anyone else hear this rumor? sorry if this has been posted else where [tried to search for it] It says from a trusted source within tmo that its an 80% chance iphone will be sold with tmo. Tmo in europe are already selling iphones and since at&ts contract with them ends this year as apple does not want to be "exclusive" it only makes sense, right?
cultofmac.com/iphone-is-coming-to-t-mobile-usa-in-q3-exclusive/39870" [if you havent seen it] cant seem to post links since im new.
anyway, if it were to come in the Q3 [july - september] which is halfway over with no advertisement? and just weeks/months prior everyone said its less likely it would cross over to tmo and verizon.
cultofmac.com/iphone-3g-comming-to-t-mobile-any-time-soon-dont-bet-on-it/2083"
Now my only concern is that tmo does not have 4g and will not move onto 4G for a while because its confident on the HSPA+ network having 4G speeds and even high speeds down the line. Which iphone will they sell if it comes to tmo? why would they sell a 4G phone and only use 3G and less? At&T and Tmo also work on different bands.
All in all a rumor is just that, a rumor. And i dont know why i want the iphone to come to tmo when i already love the android os [still using my g1 and love it] maybe i guess its because i was playing plants vs zombies and angry birds on the iphone..lol and since my contract is about to end sometime soon i guess ill see if those games will make me move over to the iphone or if my love for android will make me extend my contract with tmo or move to verizon.
what do you guys think about the rumor?
I'm considering the TB but I need some sound advice. I have an AMOLED Dinc purchased on release day last year. It is rooted and I have enjoyed the various roms. I live in an area where LTE is live. I am not due for an upgrade until Nov at the soonest so I would have to buy the TB unsubsidized and sell my Dinc to offset some of the cost. Do you think this is worth it? Thanks.
Word is after tomorrow you will not be able to get in on the unlimited 4g...not sure if it's true or not........just a thought
I was not aware they would be ending the unlimited 4g so soon. Did someone hear this through a vzw rep or is this online somewhere? Thanks
They are not ending the unlimited now. Someone just started an unconfirmed statement. Officially verizon hast stated they are looking to get tierd pricing around early to mid summer..
So quick question. I have a Iphone 5 under contract in AT&T from April 26th. I might go for the HTC one or S4 in the Future, like in the upcoming months. How long before we can use a early upgrade?( I am talking about the one with the extra $250 that you pay for getting a different phone).
Thanks
