The Best Case? Which case? - Nexus One Accessories

Which is the best case for the Nexus One that provides decent protection without the added bulky feel? Also isn't a dust/lint magnet, with a good grip.
So far I think Case Mate provides the best protection but it adds a little bulk, Seidio Innocase II might provide good protection without adding too much bulk.
Any recommendations?

That's a little too shiny for my taste, I'm looking for matte finish.

How is the Google Nexus One Barely There compared to Seidio Innocase II?

Case-Mate Google Nexus One Gelli Case
Innocase™ II Surface - Black
Google Nexus One Barely There Cases
Which one of these 3 are the best? I had 2 cases from ebay, one was like the gelli case and looked like it was too tight made it difficult to use the power/on/off button. The other one came and cracked from the side and broke off. So I'm looking for a reliable case.

OMG there are like 10 threads similar to this already. Use search.

I got the Seidio Innocase II and its great! Amazon had it for 16 or 17 bucks.

I have the barely there and I really like it a lot. at first I was skeptical as it looks like.....well it looks like it's barely there . I stuck with it though and I've had it on as my only case for about 2 months. Dropped the phone about 3 times and never had a problem. Granted I never dropped it on cement or asphalt, but hard wood floors aren't forgiving either.

seidio innocase II!!!!!!
Id say otterbox. They're beastly to protect that $600 phone. ONLY problem is they bulk it up. But if you want to throw your phone across the room it's the way to go.
Id say otterbox commuter its not to bulky. Wish they had colors other than black.

Well either that or case-mate i guess. i was looking at both and it looks like they sell the same type of stuff. just case mate you can buy a different color gel skin. i wonder if the hard shell would work with a skin bought on ebay hmmm...
Your missing the best case, Innocase II, I've had them all and this case is so much better than the rest I actually feel sorry for the folks wasting money on the other cases much the same as I did prior to finding it. There are so many shoddy cases for the Nexus one, including the casemates which I actually thought would be good, but ended up being extremely disappointed with it's a shame really.
it was a mistake not to include a seidio innocase II on this list...
+1 for that case
My vote is for Case Mate ToughCase. There's another thread on here where I posted some pics too.
I received a Case Mate Tough Case this Saturday to replace my Seidio Innocase II, and this is a very very nice case. I like it much more than the Innocase I had. I was worried it would add too much heft to the phone, but it does not at all. It feels very solid and well made and it looks great. My girlfriend ordered the pink one this morning and she hasn't even received her Nexus yet!
As an aside, the Innocase II was a pretty nice case, but I had some QC issues with mine. It was a little too large, and when I pushed the lock button on the phone or plugged the phone into the charger, I could feel it slide up and down inside the case. Also, it's nearly impossible to use the Innocase with a screen protector.
I have the casemate which is basically 2 cases in one and I must say that my phone feels much safer in my hands. I also dropped it accidentally last week and was not worried. The sound that the fall made (dull like a plastic slap hitting the floor) reassured me that my phone was really safe.

Thats exactly what I did, got the case before the phone. However I ordered the case mate tough case black/black.
Tough Case.
What's wrong with the free neoprene sock that the phone comes with?
I went for a FlexiShield Skin from Mobilefun.co.uk (bleugh.. new users can't post links)
Having looked at others it now seems expensive, but I like it. It doesn't add much bulk (the phone still fits in the neoprene sleeve), and I've dropped it three or four times (that I can remember. I've had a lot to drink over the bank holiday weekend ) and there's not a mark on the phone...

Not a lot, it's pretty useful. The problem is it leaves an edge completely unprotected, I dropped mine and guess which bit ate tarmac? Also it seemed to be getting a bit looser with age, the phone didn't feel quite as secure in it as it did in Jan.
Innocase II not my favorite.
I like the Innocase II, but am going try Case Mate or Otterbox.
I tried a Zagg with the supplied neoprene case. Two days later I acquired nicks to the top resulting from a drop. I then bought the Innocase II, which tears up my Zagg at the edges. Too bad, I have two batteries and the Car Dock, so I'd like a solution that will allow me to slip on/off.
Fits OK in the neoprene case with the Innocase II, a little tight.

TPU cases: Cruzerlite vs. Diztronic vs. Mercury

I want to get a TPU case for the Nexus 4, and there seem to be (at least) three pretty good choices:
Cruzerlite:
http://www.amazon.com/Cruzerlite-Bugdroid-T-Mobile-International-Carriers/dp/B00APKGE3W/
Diztronic:
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Matte-Black-Flexible-Nexus/dp/B00A55Q2HA/
Mercury:
http://www.amazon.com/Mercury-Flexible-Google-Nexus-Black/dp/B00AOW8ICQ/
Lots of folks seem to love each of these, but do any of them have a dealbreaker flaw? Or is one head-and-shoulders above the others?
Thanks!
Cruzerlite has some awesome designs, the Diztronic is a tad slippery, and the Mercury feels a little too thin and sparkly. I would go with a Poetic Atmosphere, Cruzerlite, or Ringke Fusion.

Get one of each - all have their pros and cons. BoxWave are good too.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GGBDF4/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have the Mercury case and I find the fit is pretty snug, grip is good, cutouts are perfect, and the styling is minimal.
I've tried all 3. I'd go with cruzerlite then mercury then diztronic. That's just a personal opinion

Does the mercury is the same case as this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-GOOGLE-N...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item19d96ba8d2 ?
and I'm doing a lot of sport with the phone on me so it's possible it will get hit a little, does that case offers a good protection, in case of falling also?
and it protect's the back of the phone or also the front?
or there's any other tpu that offers good protection that's not looking like a brick?

That is the same case. I've dropped my phone several times with the case on and no damage was caused to the phone or the case itself. It protects the back and has a lip around the front of the phone so the screen will not touch the surface if you lay it face down.

New case suggestions

So I am looking to get a new case for my GS4. I had a Nexus 4 previously and had the Poetic Slimline bumper. I loved it. It fit so nicely in my hand. So much so I got the Poetic slimline for my GS4. Its good but it doesn't feel the same. I think the reason is because of how rounded it is on the edge. On the nexus 4 rather than round to the back it angled.
So I am looking for a thin and light case that angles to the back rather than rounds or at least isn't a smooth transition. I do want it to offer some protection though. The poetic is nice for this because it has the hard and soft. One other thing is I love wireless charging and don't want to lose that (I have an insert).
In my search I have seen a number of things and am leaning towards an aluminum bumper right now. I am willing to consider othhings but this seems to do what I want best.
I haven't been able to find reviews on the ones I am considering.
Really like this (1) one. I think this (2) one is the same but without the back cover. Has anyone used either of these?
I am also considering a Spigen Neo Hybrid. Might make it too iPhone-esque though.
Any other suggestions would be nice.

I have the second one you talk about, I love(d) that case. It fit well in the hand and felt very premium. Unfortunately the service went from -94dbm to almost -103dbm, and I would constantly get failed text messages in places i would have normally 2 bars.
The neo hybrid is deffinently a sweet case, the back is a little slippery in one hand though.

I think that most if not all Aluminum cases with an aluminum rear cover will experience signal loss. Not a good thing under most circumstances.
I sport a UAG case which I'm very happy with.
I started a thread about the UAG a couple of weeks ago:

I've also looked at the Speck cases online which seem pretty intriguing.

I have the Otterbox Defender & Commuter cases, as well as the Cygnett WorkMate Evolution case, but I don't think those are the look you're looking for.
Hmmm.... 4 cases in the last 3 months for a guy that never used any cases for years

I have the Neo Hybrid, some things to consider:
1) The plastic bezel is awful, the paint will start chipping within a couple of weeks (I have chips all over the bezel), then you will see the unpainted white plastic underneath and they aren't cheap to replace at $9.99.
2) It looks nice, but if you drop it I highly doubt it will offer much protection, I did once and where it did drop I saw the frame's paint chip, luckily it was on my hardwood floor and not concrete.
3) I contacted Spigen's customer service and they are down right awful, you won't get a response for weeks and if you do they will say it's your fault. I understand that if I drop it and chip it is definitely my fault, however the bezel should not chip just from it being in my pocket.
I have moved on from the Neo hybrid to Obliq, the one linked below. It does add a little bulk, but man the case is built with high quality and looks great.
Good luck, I hope you find a good case.

Honestly I think the best combination of both protection and slimness is going to come from either the Element Atom, Otterbox Commuter, or one of the Spigen cases.
Incipio makes some nice cases as well.

I got rid of my SPG Neo Hybrid Neo 2 days after getting it a couple of months ago because I saw the 'writing on the wall' regarding minimal if any drop protection, sagging neoprene after 2 days, cheap construct, etc.
With the above being said, the case in your link looks to be of protective construction, although it looks like a UAG knock off, but at half the price and nice selection of colors.
But I have to do more research on it.
I've since got a Speck Candyshell case which seems pretty cool.
I need some protection, but I also like some colors, more than the standard black cases available. I just ordered a 2nd Candyshell[/QUOTE]
Edit:
I read some reviews on the Obliq. They were general but positive, then I read a review that I'm linking to. This guy seems to be very meticulous, and he is comparing the Obliq to the UAG, which he has both owned:

Well that is odd, I have the gun metal and the black Obliq case and the buttons work as smooth as butter, right out of the case, no break-in period required. Also I have the UAG and the Obliq does look like a knock off but I think it looks better. Also the UAG ones are $29 vs $9.99 or $14.99 for the black Obliq case.
UAG is not better or worse than Obliq in my opinion. UAG also looks a bit worse with those fake screws in the back that are just part of the plastic, those make the case look cheaper, I wish they had just left those out of the design.
Go with whatever makes you feel better, but for 3 times the price you aren't getting a case that is 3 times better.

Best case

what do you guys feel is the beest case and why if possible leave a link to the sale site and list why you like that product

You're gonna find dozens of different opinions on this. Everyone has different needs and preferences and few people will have used more than one case.
I've had the Diztronic TPU case. It's not bad. But being a TPU case, it's fairly bulky and I wouldn't call it pretty. I got this one a bit later: http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10001933/1138601-protective-pc-matte-case-for-lg-nexus-4 Looks and feels better in my opinion and is less bulky. Definitely offers less protection though, but I'm okay with that cause I just like using my phone quite a bit more with this case compared to a TPU one. Doesn't mean you will, though. There is no single best case.
I personally like the S line TPU cases found on ebay, there are only a few bucks and they provide the best overall protection + grip on the sides. Cant complain about 2 bucks.
I'm using this one and love it.

I have used a black S line TPU case from ebay since I first got my Nexus 4 a few months ago. I have dropped it on a couple of hard surfaces over time and it's faired out pretty well and I would recommend them to anyone, also great value for money.
I just got my triple armor hybrid case today and I like it a lot.it feels very comfortable in the hand. The edges aren't deep like the eagle case. Its perfect. Still waiting for my damn mybat tuff case. Its taking forever to get to me. One ended up from Cali to Chicago??? I'm the other way....in Hawaii. The other is just sitting and waiting. Absolutely love the Ringke Fusion case. It's got a plastic transparent back so you can show off the unique glass back of the Nexus 4 (which is one of the only truly unique and beautiful things about this phone.) also offers a solid amount of protection. Have dropped it a couple times.

For me this cover is one of the best available for nexus 4, there's only one defect it doesn't offer a perfect grip.
Poetic's SLIM case is also pretty awesome, and it leaves the whole screen exposed so you can swipe from the edges (e.g., in Play app). $6 at Amazon...

LOL there is that, ut I am use to the old motorola nextels. Just doesn't seem that long ago to me.
I have always preferred tpu or hybrid cases, the hybrids for the nexus 4 were lack luster at best, and out of the tpu cases I found the cruzerlite a2 to be the best. I had the driztroic but I found it to be a little to slippery with its matte finish and the buttons were a little hard to find and push.

Verus Thor is the best case for the Note 4

there I said it.
-fits perfectly
-protects, like seriously
-not too thin, not too thick, just right
-not slippery, adds hand fitting design, holds well
-not fugly too thick for the sake of protection
-doesn't cost an arm and a leg
-isnt a lint or dirt magnet
-nothing crazy like waterproof or seethru
-protects your camera too, and front screen
-won't scratch your bezel
I just have to share this as many of you are still wasting time and money trying out diff cases. I suggest getting yourself a Thor first then knock yourself out with experimenting with all the others if you must. but for now, Thor is the best.
other companies really failed us on this one. they just wanted to release cases faster than they can test them out. turning us into guinea pigs.
Im sure that it doesnt have tech21 material on it. Tech21 cases are probably better than any cases out there and it has evidence with videos..
Pics?
I have to agree about the Tech21 case. I have it and it is light years away from the others I tried. Very nice case for the Note 4.
lol so superb
Agreed with LeoNote4 100%. I haven't removed the case since I got it. Much better feel than the Spigen cases. I have all of the Spigen cases and UAG Scout. May try the Tech21 Impact Tactical.

at some point, a company has to find the perfect balance over one perfect feature. tech21 major design flaw is it's design. it prides itself and rightly so on total protection of the device. this comes at a huge compromise in design. in addition to that dull appearance, the case also creates a lot of smudge from your hands and fingers. it gets annoying to clean up everytime and it looks too gross to show others.
users would find themselves looking for a case that still provides decent protection, maybe bulletproof is overkill, but just enough safety feature and still covers all the other points. nobody said its perfect in all areas, but what Thor provides is that reasonable balance in design, protection, grip, price without compromising so much on one or two features.

Umm except you forgot the fact that its thick and ugly lol. Rinkle slim is my favorite one so far. I mean I got a beautiful looking phone and I'm not gonna put that kind of case on it. But that's just my opinion.

I have the Tech21 Impactology wallet case and the OEM charging back; regrettably it does not fit but it's my favorite case with the normal back cover.
Can anyone using the Verus Thor case recommend, ideally from experience, a good car mount? In part because of the curved sides, it's difficult for me to judge the case's effective width use in a car mount.
TIA

I'm still a fan of the Otterbox Defender and the UAG cases. I have used both on my Notes. I don't mind the additional thickness in exchange for protection. I have dropped my Note 3 from chest high onto my concrete driveway with each case and the phone has survived just fine. I have gotten out of my car and forgotten that my phone was in my lap, only to have it drop onto the concrete. No problem!! I have seen all of the video's and listened to the claims of other cases, but I can personally attest to the fact that the 2 cases I have mentioned will protect your investment should you ever drop it.
