Hi,
Please help me finding the registry value to remove the clock on the top-right title bar.
I tried to google but found nothing. I also search manually on the HKLM but don't have any clue what should I change.
Second thing is can I change the battery meter to display battery status on percentage other than 4 stripes?
Thanks.

You need to delete the reg key entry for the startup of the clock.
You will find the key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\init
In it u will find an entry with LaunchXX when XX is a number and that entry has a value of ClockOnTop.exe
Delete the entry LaunchXX or just the value. Reboot, clock wont load at startup. Carefull not to delete anything else here, this were ur system files load at startup.
As for battery status, no u can not change into percentage. It is not a reg entry it is a hardcoded BMP in a DLL file.
Thanks for the help Sir! Yes, it works.

I've been working on a theme, but now I'm stuck with a problem that may or may not be related. Changing home screens certainly doesn't fix it. I was also experimenting with VJbasehue but changing back didn't help there either.
My problem is this: in the Start Menu the menu that you bring up with the soft keys now has white text on a white background. How do I set the text back to black?
Kermit
hard reset
Oh yeah, that's REAL funny.
Actually, just as mysteriously as it happened, it stopped happening. I have no idea why. (cue spooky music)

Maybe this methode works ? -->
Synchronize your tornado via Active sync and goto application data/home find the xml of your theme and change the value of colors police the restart your phone;
Sorry for my bad english
Use this program to change the system colors of your choice. You can install the file to your SD card if you want. To make the menu text black, tap sys. colors, scroll down to menu text, tap white customize box, slide all 3 color guides to far left to show "0"..Soft reset.
Here's a screenshot of what to do to make the menu text black or any color pattern of your choosing.

I found the cab file for instant installation of the program. You don't need the zip file now.
Yea....but how to tweak a Phone with an PPC app...
Yah, that's kind of hard to use a PPC app on a Smartphone. Although the concept is cool. I think PPC/Smartphones need a 'Display Properties' app like Windows itself has. Plus a way to automagically change icon sets. Plus lots of other neet goodies.

...and the colors are FUBARed again. BTW, this time around I'm not altering color settings in the home screen file, but I am working on new icons. I didn't change the background screen, so why these colors are changing is a mystery.

Ooops, sorry. I thought I was at the Wizard forum
Quite all right - I finally just set all the colors in the SCHEME in the home screen and that stabilized things.
I'm still wishing I could figure out for once and for all how to change the color of the text on the start menu.

I've searched for a registry edit to turn off the program name from always displaying in the title bar up top. I can't seem to find it -- does anyone know what it is? Thanks!!!
Do you mean: Start - Setting - System - Task Manager - tape&hold on a particular program name - "add the exclusive" in the pop-up meny ?
(the program then will continue to run in background but will not be visible)
Um... no... I mean when you're running something, anything, the name of it shows up in the upper task bar, to the right of the Start Menu. It shows as many letters as it can up to where the icons display. I used to use a program called WISbar Advance that had an option to turn this off, but no longer use it -- was hoping to find out how to achieve that setting through the registry.
I have the "Display Message On Screen" unchecked for each of these, but the left softkey still changes to "Notifications" when I have one of these. I would like to disable that.
When I use Manila, it appears to be disabled, but I also know it uses its own reg keys for those softkeys and not the built-in Windows soft keys.
When I use Titanium, I don't need that notification message since I can tap in Titanium to get the message.
I just think its kinda redundant and I'm not sure why Microsoft wants both.
Nobody has any ideas?
I found notification settings under HKLM\System\State\Shell\Notifications.
There are 3 keys in this tree that I think control the display of the Today SK.
I haven't played with the registries but possibly setting Active to "0" would stop the notifications.

Active is a key, not a value you can change (like a string, dword, etc).

Sorry, mine shows Reg_DWORD = 1
I did some research and found that for missed calls (the other types of notifications don't really bother me) one can delete - with resident Mortscript for example - the following reg keys/values (while the notification is active):
HKLM\System\State\Notifications\Active\
"CLSID={A877D660-239C-47A7-9304-0D347F580408}"
and
HKLM\System\State\Notifications\{A877D660-239C-47A7-9304-0D347F580408}\
This effectively removes the "Notification" from left soft key, but leaves the taskbar icon (and skin items / alerts for Phonealarm) intact - which is perfect to my mind.
Using Vodafone v1520 (rebranded Asus P550) with stock WM 6.0 ROM.
I try all settings in control panel, many tweak programs, registry settings and etc, but none hide this icon in my WM 6.5 firmware (I use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524032 ). In WM 6.0 and earlier tweaks works good, but in WM 6.5 the battery button shows all the time.
I use line indicator for display battery charge and this icon waste my space
How I can hide (remove) the battery icon in Windows Mobile 6.5 series?
Hi,
I hope I'm not late - anyway - let's have it here for other people interested in solution...
I have changed the reg key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TaskBar]
"LimitedClock"=dword:00000000
After soft reset, th battery is gone and the clock is always shown (whenever you see the taskbar)
Cheers,
p.s. -The strange thing happens - I saw the "TaskBa r" in my post and I wanted to edit and delete the space, but when I go in to edit message mode - the space disapears ??? Anyway - the "TaskBar" in HKLM registry is one word without space...
thanks to this.!
This isn't help me on WM 6.5 (CE OS 5.2.24001). The registry entry was 1, I set to 0, but the battery icon is always shown left of clock
Most grateful.
Worked for me on my TD2 (OS 5.2.21887).

Dear friends

so what I did next was to uncheck this option and restart the device and now the sound icons sometimes comes on and sometimes not but the battery has disappeared. I sill can access the battery settings when I press on the tilte bar where the battery icon supposed to be..
see picture
please help
It's looking that some newly installed program caused it. I suggest HardReset and then installing them one by one go to see what will cause this problem.
If you have a list of programs you installed since the moemnto what was working and then it was bad we can best help!

I foun in this forum a registry tweak wher u can change the value and get the time /date/or both in the title bar (of course after soft reset). I kina like it. now I have the time in the title bar but not the battery.
Well, I wonder if I reverse the registry value to defaults, will this bring the battery icon back?
it happened when I enabled the option of (show the time in all programs in > clock & alarm settings in >more. (but I didn't resatrt the device and then Igo Primo froze for what ever the reason and then I reset the device and it came back with missing battery icon
if I do hard reset, will this delete everything on my phone?

Yes, absolutely. Except what you already synchronized and / or backup
