Do a little bit of search, there's an app that's called "market enabler" lurking somewhere on the net, it enables you to get access to paid apps

Well I got rid of alot of the stuff that I dint really want and I got to install certain things I couldnt before!!

You need to kill Market using a Task Killer and the re-open it for the changes to take effect. Or just reboot your device!

Guide:
1.Install Market Enabler application to rooted X10 (you can find download link in my previous posts)
2.clear cache(Settings/application/Manage Application/market and clear cache ) of the market and click force close (just in case )
3.Open Market enabler and go to settings list
4.Long press on any item and select "fake this provider now"
(you will notice operator numeric change)
5.Go to actual tab and click save current settings and close app
6.Open market and check as below screen it works.
Note:
In the steps 4 & 5 you will be prompted for superuser access. allow it.
If failed, try other providers, Im not sure this have 100% success rate.

doesnt work. market place is still extremly slow and still cant see paid apps tab.

OK One more thing:
Pls see my previous post and screen one. this is the first screen you will get when open market,
IF any one got successful on this and once your go to applications or games tab in the market "Top Paid" might be missing.
I had the same problem before
Fix for this: (only need to do one time on the phone)
1.Go to /data/data/com.android.vending/shared_prefs/vending_preferences.xml
2.Copy this vending_preferences.xml to SD card and mount your phone and open from notepad (you can do this within the phone itself)
3.Find {boolean name="metadata_paid_apps_enabled" value="false" }
4.Change it to {boolean name="metadata_paid_apps_enabled" value="true" }
5.Copy this file back to SD card
6. replace the original vending_preferences.xml with the modified one on /data/data/com.android.vending/shared_prefs/vending_preferences.xml
I used root explorer to copy file from data to sd card and over-right the modified file from sd card to data folder.
Im sure any developer can make a dos command for it. but this is the best I can do.
PS:
When I got my phone from SE, I didnt had market even in my phone.
Even im not getting 100% sucess everytime I try this. but for me 3 providers working its [de]O2, [au]Telstra, [ie]Meteor.
Good luck

Does anyone know the settings for Canada (Rogers) ? Thanks.

i tried with all the list and i can´t find tapatalk pro and appmundial....
Im from spain, and i used to have this aplications.... :-(

@elgorgon,
Do you see other paid apps in the market except tapatalk?
This is the QR code for Tapatalk Forum App (Pro)
try if this works.I searched this too, market says its not available, only free version showing in the market. hm....
@synlar,
For Canada-Rogers try any US provider. it should work.
But Canada by default have paid apps support. Source

same as you, it doesn´t work....i can see paid apps, but not all of them, like tapatalk pro, root manager, and there are some free that i cant see also....

Some users have reported that at the time of clearing cache, market was automatically update to 2.2.7. if your one of those lucky users, this installation is not required
Even this is posted on X10 forum, any 2.1 android can have this update.

Go /Settings/applications/(remove filter and select all) select market application/ select clear cache
Go /Settings/applications/(remove filter and select all) select market application/ select uninstall update
Open Market and see if its auto updated. (because now market update is already rolled out to all the 2.1 users) if not redo the step 1 and go for step 4

You dont need to play with root system directory. this will install on top of stock market as an update. (if you followed the method I mentioned. when you dont want it simply click uninstall update.
This kind of behavior you will find in google maps, stock facebook application.

The news was for 3.0.26, and this is 3.0.27, which fixed the apps description showing in other languages (Maps description showed in Russian for me, and I was not the only one). This one fixed it. There are sure others threads about v27, but the only one I could find after this was in the EVO 3D section and with this thread I know now there is the newer version.
Oh, and sorry for the thanks I gave you, I pressed the wrong button (small netbook). Also ironic for what you said about "thanks" button.

create a backup before doing this using any backup soft like titanium
Did all of that, backed up the old market. New market FCs constantly, cleared cache and data, full battery pull, nothing. Could not restore the old market, Titanium said it did, but the new one still tries to load. Uninstalled and reinstalled vending.apk for the old market, still FCs like crazy. So I'm wiping and re-flashing Liberty now, F it. Guess it was worth a shot but I'll be fine with the old market.
I still have that stupid missing "Update" button bug.
Lol, you could just install it over old Market and then go to Applications/Market/Uninstall updates and revert to old Market.

this is something related to your custom rom maybe not suitable for new market
WTF Even This Version FC's on me
so ever since installing the new market on Evil Fascination on two phones I get FC on them. Here are the steps. Open market, then go to apps, then select any application that has screenshots, then without clicking on an image to make it larger just try and swype through them. FC's on two Samsung Fascinates both with various modems and both running Evil Fascination which has no problems with older market app. I truly beleive this is a bug in the market app.
Is any one else having to issue so I can confirm it is the app and not the rom i'm using?
Thx

[App] Market Version 3.3.11

Here is the link for the newest Market, Version 3.3.11. It brings a lot of new options, like All Apps Auto-Update, or update only by WiFi. I've confirmed that I can purchase apps, and this (edit: should) install over your existing Market with no issues.

This link was pulled from Android Police, so head to their site if you want more details.
Please note that this has been known to function improperly on Honeycomb. Tip: Clear data on the new market before opening it. This seems to resolve some Force Close issues for some.

If a direct install didn't work, here's a work around process:
1. Download the file from above ( Market-3.3.11.apk) to your SD card.
2. In Root Explorer, find the file you just downloaded and copy it.
3. Move it to /system/app and hit the R/W button to enable writing privileges, then paste the file.
4. Find Vending.apk and rename it to something like Vending.apk1.
5. Long press on Market-3.3.11.apk and rename it to Vending.apk.
6. Afterwards, long press on it again and choose“"Permissions".”
7. Change the permissions to this:
8. Press“"OK", reboot your phone, and enjoy the new market.
For Apps not showing in Market, do the following:
While in Titanium Backup, press Menu, Market Tools, then Market Doctor. Select the Apps you want to reconnect to the Market.
Alternatively, you can search for the App in Market, then simply Uninstall, then Reinstall. You can then restore the App data with TB.
Cool, works and new options are nice

First Browser with the new layout that actually runs smoothly. Thanks a lot! It just runs so much faster then the previous version.
works great for me, glad to see a market update that i don't have to flash and doesn't need root to install and run.
Just got the update OTA on both my phone and tablet, however the version number hasnt changed on either, even after a reboot (although I'm sure clearing data/cache might fix that)
So lets get this straight. Its November 1st, and we have a brand new Google+ and Market. Can't wait to see what else crops up in the next few days. All ICS style apps? dying for the new Gmail!

[App][4.0] GNow Handlebars [Google Now][Downloader][Installer][Remover]

GNow Handlebars
Purpose
Are you tired of flashing Google Now zips only to find out the flash did not work or messed up something unintentionally?
Are you tired of manually installing Google Now components over and over again to find that you some how made a mistake
and need to start over?
Do you not fully understand how to flash zips or manually add files to your system folders?
Well fear no more.
Introducing the first application that can download, install or remove Google Now and restore Google
Search to your phone without the need of flashing zips or manually adding and manipulating the files.
There have been a lot of users with issues installing and uninstalling Google Now for ICS. This is my second solution for those users.
This is only an application that deals with the many different variations of Google Now that were created in this news worthy thread: The Google Now for ICS Project
This application allows users to quickly install Google Now to see if it works for them and if it does not, it allows these users to restore their original Google Search.
This thread is not and will not be about issues with specific modded Google Now apks, go here: The Google Now for ICS Project for that. I have no problem incorporating new apks into the installer. But I will not attempt to deal with issues outside of the installer.

The play store cost $25 to open a developers account and for a free app, I just don't see that happening.
I need it up on a market that gives me stats on downloads and other info. I'm looking into SlideMe right now.
Unless someone wants to donate the funds to get it up and started.

It seems you do not have access to this page. Do not worry, there are ways to fix this.
If you believe this message to be an error, please tell us what happened when you were trying to access http://slideme.org/application/gnow-handlebars.
You can always hit the back button of your browser to return to the previous page or go to homepage. Maybe you were not supposed to be here in the first place."

This is a great solution...if we could access it. Why not host it and place a link here? Email me the apk and I'll host it.

Link doesn't work right. Says denied or something like that. Can you just post the apk here

Let me look into that right now.
Update!!!!! Available on Amazon.com
Do you have android terminal or equivalent? If so can you run command "df" in root mode and tell me what you get for "system" under "free"
I can't get it installed. I have tried installing all of the different versions. It downloads successfully and says that it installed successfully, but it doesn't show up anywhere. It's not in my apps list or anything. I have restarted my device and I still can't find it. Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: found the cause, the program caught a NumberFormatException, if you check your logs you should see this message
freeSpace(): Could not parse
The program is unable to parse decimals. I'll need to look into changes this part of the code to work with them.

Version 1.1 should address your issue and it is up on SlideMe.org via my signature.
Great Share... Thanks soo much! I had no problem downloading and installing from amazon.
Now are there any thoughts, on the best version of google now?
or which is the most recent/feature rich version? Or is there no difference?

Check the OP of this thread. It has most of the information pertaining to what each offers.

Download Google Play 3.9.16

http://www.mediafire.com/?c667cb8ijmcz9cg
First of all, the updated Play Store (v3.9.16) brings with it expanded notifications for Jelly Bean users. Now, the Play Store will notify users of the name of the apps for which updates are available, instead of just saying “x Updates Available”. The notification bar logo has also been changed to the Play Store logo, which looks neat.
However, the most important change in the update is that the Play Store *finally* keeps your position in a list, and does not scroll back to the top, after you check an app description and come back to the list. After the low resolution Google Contacts syncing issue, the Play Store not retaining a user’s position in a list was among the most frustrating bugs plaguing Android users.
Finally, users can now remove apps from the ‘My Apps’ section in the Play Store. You can select multiple apps by long-pressing on them, and removing them by pressing the Trash icon at the top.
Changelog plz
Edit: Got it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32682053

I've tried on CM 10. Perhaps this is the reason?
I'm hoping someone can help me before I throw my nexus 7 out the window I'm on paranoid android 2.2 with gapps ending in "26". When I install this apk for the new play store I get "app not installed, there is already a similar app with conflicting signatures". Now, under downloaded apps in settings I don't even have the play store listed, it's under "all", but not under downloaded where you would normally see it. Someone suggested that I change the apk to "phone sky" and copy it to system/apps....I don't see phonesky anywhere on my nexus 7, but I did rename it and copied it over, it didn't work.Does anybody know how I can install this simple apk? Why it's coming back with a conflicting signature error message? I install apk's all the time, and others that I know on custom roms are not having this issue. I would appreciate any help at all. Thanks!

I havent used a nexus7 or paranoid, but i am pretty sure this method works everywhere..
After pasting this apk into system/app you also need to change the permissions of the app to rw-r-r
something like this-
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And Reboot.(I don't recommend renaming the app, just paste as it is)

Thank you very much! I did end up renaming the apk to "phonesky" since the one I replaced was named phonesky. All is good. Still don't understand why a simple apk wouldn't install, but I'll figure that out later Thank you.
