App to show upcoming appointments on HS? - EVO 4G Themes and Apps

The EVO is my first Android phone, coming from a WinMo 6.1 HTC Fuze.
Is there a way to get the calender app or either of the two calender widgets included with the EVO to display your next appointment on the main home screen, like the Fuze did?
I know there is a tiny calender icon at the top of the screen if you have an appointment coming up, but I was hoping for something right on the home screen.
For instance, with the Fuze, if you had an appointment in three days, it would show that as your next upcoming appointment, allowing you to keep it in mind.

Let me take a screen shot and you tell me if its what you are looking for.

I would love to know what that agenda widget you've got there is, as well as the one that shows batt/phone/microSD storage. Please

I ended up finding the Android Agenda Widget last night on the market. Didn't have any luck with the other though so thanks!

Umm. The stock android calendar widget shows the next entry in your calendar like it sounds the Fuze did/does

I’m not getting any of mine. Is there a setting to add it?

I use smooth calandar

Windows 6.5 Picture Gallery
Summary of points noted:
* Most likely to start appearing in Q4 of this year
* New lock screen, The idea behind the lock screen is that there's a notification box for each type of notification -- email, text messages, voicemails, and so on -- and dragging the appropriate notification with your finger will take you straight to it when the phone unlocks.
* New home screen - Left and right swipes move between calendar events, for example. (pictured above)
* Still uses the X to quit apps etc
* New honeycomb menu/homescreen...scrolling fairly smooth
* New version of IE mobile, scrolls, renders pages better
* New virtual keyboard
* My Phone..syncing over the air
Personal opinion: Looks like the same old Windows Mobile youve come to love and hate. They added a today screen plugin and a new menu system and a cloud program woop de doo. Oh and they updated their SIP...first time in 5 years. Looks like HTC once again has to fill its shortcomings...
I really like the new unlock screen.

Someone should get his hands on that 6.5 build
Excellent job Microsoft.
Mmm... not sure about that...
A step in the right direction.
But it is nowhere near enough!!
I was really hoping for some Zune goodness here
Looking nice but not so much as expected.
Sure, it's not brilliant but it's only a stop gap until WM7 comes out. MS obviously needed to do something before next year and I'm sure it was at the request of the phone manufacturers.
I'm also sure that this will be another fantastically tweakable and skinnable OS. Love it or hate it you can't argue that WM is very customisable.
Agree, hopefully WM7 will be something really worth waiting for.
another crap

I like the concept. I like that you are able to quickly get an overview of messages, calendar, calls and you can adjust was you like it. It would be better if it had facebook, twitter intergration as part of all the other info panels also.
The only issue here I see is that the whole notion of android is the widgets...which I like. I'll keep it on for awhile to test it out. Maybe it will grow on me.
It's basically windows mobile homescreen.
I agree with archboy, great concept, but still missing some customization features. The ability to move an item from the top half to the bottom half is needed. This would be great if it could also be used as a fullscreen widget, so that I could still use the rest of my screens.
I wish this was a lock screen.
IMO, this information oriented approach instead of the action/application oriented approach is much better in terms of productivity.
The only drawback of this application? I cannot access to some widgets/actions and I do really want to be able to do things like enable wireless, 3g, change brightness... without the pain of going through the setup menus.
A good solution to this problem would be a light weight home screen app which could be launched from slide screen and load the the 4 or 5 widgets I need. I've tried aHomeMini but it forcecloses, any suggestions?
@iVisionX01: yeah, having it as a lock screen is also great but, again, I won't need the full featured home app.

2nd that
Tried it for a couple of hours, but missing customizability and getting settings too far out of reach made me uninstall quickly.
I wish it was a widget!
Try QuickDesk or PowerStrip with this, working great for me, very pleasing to the eye..
wow i cant believe i missed this home screen
should be perfect with QuickDesk and PowerStrip
i dont get it??? Whats it suppose to do??
It's a shame FroYo won't let you change default launcher programatically any more (you have to do it through the settings). I would love to have had Tasker set this is default when I was at work, then LauncherPro the rest of the time

Hidden widget gem: whiteboard pro - home notes

I stumbled across this app/widget in the Market and was amazed that such a powerful app had only gotten about 5000 downloads in half a year (evil circle - no downloads, no one sees it, no one downloads).
What the app is is a note app that has text, drawing and audio notes and a matching widget. What makes this special is the amount of customization options you have with it, especially the ability to scale it to full tablet screens without that messing anything up.
What I did was to dedicate an entire homescreen to the widget, set the background to fully transparent, activate the quick save button and set the main app to draw on homescreen which means that it uses an image of the homescreen as the background when you're in the main app. The result is that the home screen page doesn't show ANY indication of a widget being there, but when you click it, the main app launches which with the home screen background looks like some controls simply magically appeared on the home screen. I can then do notes and click and hold the save button, which brings me back to the homescreen and the widget gets updated with the note.
A picture is worth a thousand words so the below screenshots shows what I'm talking about. The first 1/3 of the screenshot shows the widget with some notes on it. The second 1/3 shows the main app which with the way mine is set up looks just like if some buttons appeared on the home screen. The last 1/3 is just to show one of the 4 tabs of settings to show how customizable this is.

The way I have it set up is just an example, you don't need to go fullscreen or transparent background or anything like that. I just thought it would be the best way to show it off as I've gone through literally dozens of note widgets on the 7.0 Plus with the same results; small widgets, not scalable, scalable but pixelated, looks like it's made in paint, etc. This is the first one I've found that actually works well on a tablet.

hahaha wow. this is legit!

I have a particular calendar need, looking for input

Ok so i need to setup appointments, these almost always happen 4 weeks apart. Would be nice to have an app that lets me set the repetition as 4 weeks. Google calendar on my computer does it, but i can't find a calendar on android with this option.
Here's to hoping somebody has seen this and can help me out, thanks
Try Business Calendar
I use that program a lot, it however doesn't suit this need
If you use Google Calendar it will allow you to pick the repeat intervals... it has an option to popup on your phone and/or email. Works great.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that looks like a desktop version, to use the desktop version on my phone is clunky at best, and the mobile version doesn't have that option. So what I'm looking for is an app with those options.
Thanks
Touch calender does what you want and sync to your gmail calender.

Business calendar does do this. When you create your entry at the bottom select weekly. Under that there is a box that you can select every 4 week's plus an end date if needed.

And thanks for showing me how to do this in business cal. Makes sense now but i would've never figured that out

None of my color codes are showing in month view.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
The new monthly view is simply retarded beyond anything imaginable. I hope the guys get their act together asap and fix this mess.

They're not supposed to. It shows you what day you're on. It will show you what day have appointments. That's all
That doesn't make sense, nor does it follow the desktop version which shows all colors. Why would I not want a quick glance to know exactly what I have going in each day in calendar view nose

It completely follows the desktop version
Top-left. It bolds the days with appointments and not the ones that haven't. It shows no colours.
Now there is another month view that can't fit in the app that shows more than colours and text but the whole appointments. That's not an overview though, like the app
What's a view nose?
A typo I never corrected. At one point my Google calender showed the color. So I'm not sure why 5.0 is acting dumb

Not in this view. You can do a maximum of 5 days using the menu in the top right corner. This monthly overview is just that. An overview of free days vs days with appointments.
Maybe the tablet version is more comprehensive? There are also other apps you can use.

The functionality got broken in the "upgrade" -- the only things we can do are wait for Google to fix it or switch to another calendar app.
My girlfriend's calender shows color fine, but I specifically remember a point where mine didn't, but somehow I fixed it. So maybe there is a easy way to fix this.
