Now Incubus26jc takes the source directly from DZO for his build (same thing for Kallt_kaffe) : you can make your choice between the two builds... I think after It's just "cosmetics" for what you prefer !

I use it now with my contact and calendar in csv mode (export by gmail directly and at the first time by outlook...) not simply but the only solution for me because I haven't data connexion in my phone (I use wifi...).

Rls1 was a bit slower than vanilis eclair and slower than incubus eclair(but wifi settings fc)
Rls2 will be testet now ;D

Hi guys,
Just tried Froyo RLS3 on polaris from NAND (latested DZO kernel). Installation went OK, but then my keyboard is gone... Keyboard does not popup when selecting a text input field nor with a long press on home button. Am I the only one ?
Also noticed the APN list is empty per default, but new entry can be added...when you have a keyboard ;-)

In addition to the keyboard, you'll need to manually add your APN ... if you have not already come across this.

UPDATES: this ROM is working for me on T-Mo, HTC dialer, HTC "Exchange-support" mail client, which is awesome. Full mail / contacts / calendar support, as mentioned. However, I'm unable to get the wireless to connect to my home wifi (WPA), which was working with Cyan 4.0.4 just prior to this. Also, doesn't look like it is allowing my T-Mo data plan, or something

Will allow allow for full T-Mo + data support? If so, oh man... it'd be sweet
Ok, so I went ahead & zip'ed them up for you & made sure they stated HTC Magic instead of a T-Mobile G1. If you look @ the xml files, you'll understand what I meant about saving you some time editing them. You might need a wipe after re-flashing your new build. Hope that saves you some time. You'll see everything is layed out as it should be in the rom. The only other suggestion I have that might help you out is, if you're using Cyanogen's kernel & you want compcache, & all the other great stuff he adds to his kernel, you might want to add his modules directory from the same kernel build. Then edit your boot.img's init.rc accordingly. That's all completely up to you. If you extract his boot.img you'll understand what I mean. Again nice job. Take care.

Hi yipcanjo,
First thing, if you came directly over from a Cyanogen build w/ out wiping first, I'd recommend that. The build design of the HTC/Rogers builds are quite a bit different, use different versions of the apps/frameworks. Now, if you're comfortable w/ adb, you could easily push these files into allla's current build. Make sure to do an adb remount, & then push the files into place. Reboot & you should be able to be on the T-Mobile network. The apns file that comes w/ the Roger's Dream/Magic is very very minimal to say the least. lol. That's why I figured I'd throw that in as well. Hope that gets you up & going. Take care.

The HTC Magic/Rogers builds don't include that. That's part of the hero builds. I'm sure it'd take some work to get it working on this build. It'd be easier to just rip Rosie out a Hero build & run it like the Magic/Dream builds. I don't claim to be an expert, but that seems like the easiest thing to do. The issue with wlan/dhcp is the following: I'm not able to get a IP-adress. If I set a static IP, wifi works. So there is a problem with the dhcp. I'm trying to get
some logs.

If I could make one more suggestion. I don't want to try to take anything away from your work. If I were you, I'd use the Rogers HTC Magic or may be hotweiss's HOFO build as my starting point & then mod that. I think you'll find it a little easier. His builds are based on the official update for the Magic. There's some differences in the apk's/frameworks between the Magic/Dream releases. You'd really only have to include the kernel, wlan driver & make what other changes you'd like to do. When I was using the HTC Magic updates for my mod, I noticed some problems & once I went back to the "Dream" update, everything was fine again. I'd still use the files I provided you if you choose to use the stock rogers update though. I'll check back & see how things are working out for you. Again, nice work. Take care.

1. Not all of Cyanogen's features are meant for a Magic (some actually slow it down). His ROM is designed for a Dream with less space and keyboard.
2. If you incorporate all of his features you'll end up with his ROM, so why waste your time duplicating his ROM?
3. People should be given the chance to create their own custom ROMs, this will create diversity so people can choose.
We've found a solution for the wifi problem. I'll upload the update tomorrow evening.
Tried a couple of installs of this - each time it just hangs on the Vodafone screen and won't go any further.
Anyone else seen this issue with any ideas, would be appreciated!

This is not a HERO rom though? This mean you've isolated the bits required for Full Exchange Support? Possible to add these to a non-hero ROM like JACxROM 1.4r3?
To answer my own question: This is an HTC ROM so it includes the required framework and other bits. Google ROMS do not, and I've been told would take too much work to port. HERO ROMs are ALSO HTC ROMS and so they too include this feature.

Thanks go to damage for the boot.img with the latest .29 kernel, toast and quietcblongs for getting sensors on 2.x builds back in january (we would be no where without these two devs) gbhil for the inspiration to make roms, ffolkes for hooking me up with an ftp server, raiderx303 for letting me incorporate some of his work in this rom, Toast for a second time suggesting resigning my whole entire rom with testkeys to get VVM to work, and Toast (+phhuson) for a 3rd time for Overclock. if i missed anyone please let me know.
What Works/What Doesn't
Everything. Only thing to note is you need to use LWP's from market, or the grass ans polar clock live wallpapers. also, you will get a text message for every voicemail if you are using sprint vvm. Deal with it until my next release please. Also, you may notice better results with Mms if you use handcent. Mms maxes at 300 kb on default app

Lol, i haven't really given damage's rom a shot yet, cuz i've been busy as hell for the last week. Whatever should be working for the actual legend device that our phone can handle will be on this rom. Other than that, i guess aesthetically its not much different
This is not my work, I am just posting a ROM I came across in my searching for 2.1 ROMs. I have only been playing with this for about an hour but so far I like it a lot! The only issues that I have so far is that the keyboard layout is not quite right (Spanish) and that you will have to enter your APN. This rom is as if fura one OTA, was created from 0 to the source code.
WIPE recommend from this version because if you come from the CSDI everything changes
When you ask pin wait a few minutes doing nothing, then put pin and set up the account.
You will notice that slows down when entering the desktop is because this update and other accounts, once finished restart couple of hours and you will see how the rom starts to go smoothly, since it generates little by little dex which he is asking from the system.
You have to tell you that Eclair has just started and do not come saying that if this program will not or perhaps because we have to wait as long as developers catch up, just like me I had to adapt a little SupSetup.

To see better browser: Get in settings and change the text size to large and the default zoom to close, leave the browser to go into settings and set default text in normal and middle-distance zoom. Desactivar tercera opcion y ya esta. Disable third option and now this.

I would suggest you try each of the ROMs, the original and the tweaked versions, to see what works best for you. After playing with all three (so far), I prefer the original by superatmel with the english keyboard and Helix launcher pushed as I have had no problems with it but YMMV. Please remember that XxKOLOHExX's mods are a work in progress. Enjoy.
All versions of this ROM currently do not use the ram hack but do have all files in place to activate JIT. Directions on how to do so are below.

my linpack MFLOP score went from 2.2xx to 3.5.
normally i would strongly recommend using the AutoKiller and Cachemate apps whenever JIT is enabled, but this rom already has some type of built-in aggressive memory management and cache is cleared whenever you reboot.
still testing whether or not the AutoKiller app would help or hurt on this rom.

Yeah, pretty much. I started off looking at some of Lazlo's ROM on the polish board and the Uneek ROM that was the first I know of to use a switch to turn on/off (unsuccessfully, for me) the RamHack and JIT.
From there I decided to see what else was out there that was not on this board. I came across a number of ROMs but this was the first Eclair ROM that had good speed (without the RamHack, btw) and that played video (a must for me), so after playing with it for a while, I posted it here.
All I need now is to figure out a way to change the keyboard to english.......

dude this ROM is smooth, 3D works perfectly, I even got the camcorder to work!! it looks a bit different at first, but this is what we have been waiting for in terms of a 2.1 ROM. Flash Away!! its pretty good so far!
Yes - it slightly slower than Laszlo Donut. Is stable and has a lot of pro settings - minus the lack of Polish language.
Hmm... can't you just switch out the LatinME.apk with something from the English rom and then it'll have an English Keyboard... i'll give it a shot i'll report back

I have yet to find an eclair that can match the speed of the donuts, but this is the smoothest and fastest eclair I have found.

I saw from the pictures it's again MoDaCo r3.1 based and has the new untervoltet and overclocked kernel from Richard from Version V14. Guessing with the same problems reported in this kernel thread, but seems to be the best for battery life, will see the reports by jolaren.
Still very curious what's else changed from V1 to V2? Can you tell us the secret of speed?

It's 17.26 now and I have 56 percent left which I find impressive. A few calls, a few mails, an hour of Spotify offline and some fiddling with apps etc. I'm not home yet and I will use the battery until its really low and come back with the results
Hi. First of all, great rom. Fastest 2.1 rom I've seen so far. Small annoyance from my side, my phone is always on "vibrate", I never use ringtones. But when I enable "vibrate" the icon that appears seems to be the icon for a ringtone on full volume. When I enable a ringtone, the icon disappears and there's no icon or whatsoever. I've included a screenshot when the phone is on "vibrate"

mount your SDcard on PC create folder named "android.tether" copy and paste the bcm.bin from the link on android.tether from your SDcard, download the apk in link after desinstalling the older wifi tether.than connect and enjoy!!!

How can I remove the older tether???
Down to 34% now. Started using my phone at 10.00.
I am satisfied considering all that is synced on my phone and my useage over the day. At some points the phone can "lag" for a sec or two, might have to do with setcpu.. what settings do you reccomend?
I have a rooted unbranded Orange phone. Will the Radio in this ROM cause me any troubles?

This is a Gingerbread ROM using the system.img and ramdisk.img from the Google SDK before you ask.
This is HIGHLY experimental and there are still a heck of a lot of bugs to be worked out but I will try to fix the majority of them as time progresses.
I would also like to add that this is temporary until Google drop the official code, which of course then I will update Oxygen.
