[Q] Cannot Flash Back To Stock, Boot, or Mount

First of all I apologize if this has been covered, I have been trying to find a solution for 3 days straight. I have a Rogers Wireless HTC One X I managed to unlock bootloader and root as well as having access to TWRP 2.1.8. recovery.
My problem is when I tried to apply the 3 dot removal mod my phone suddenly would not boot past the first screen, and a message would appear for developers use do not distribute but just stay on that screen. I have tried numerous things to no avail. I can boot in recovery and mount sd card from there (but have not found a successful way to restore from within recovery mode) otherwise in fastboot etc. the computer does mount the phone at all. it will not mount as a device properly so I cannot run the RUU and flash to stock.
So I am left with a unmountable and unbootable phone (brick) and have no other ideas on how to fix it if possible. BTW the device does show in device mgr and the computer gives the connect and disconnect alert, but it will not mount. Also, I have read the bootloader has to be relocked to flash back to stock if I relock the phone I cannot access recovery therefore an endless nightmare. Also, within TWRP recovery I try to reboot and it gives an error saying no Android OS found, install a rom or restore from backup (which I have neither) so I have to hold the power and dwn volume button to reboot each time to switch from recovery to fastboot. I think its toast.

There's a link in dev to unofficial twrp with usb mount support install that by following the directions in the thread. Then you'll be able to copy a rom to the phone for flashing.

Or you can install HTC Sync on your computer and that may allow you to use a RUU to flash back to stock. HTC Sync has the required drivers to make a Windows PC recognize the HOX.

i ran into a similar situation about a week ago. hard shut down the phone by holding down power button for like 10 seconds, then boot into bootloader. hit fastboot. connect your phone to computer, and fastboot oem lock bootloader. now you can ruu. Download Rogers RUU utility and follow steps. Voila! Phone is just like new! but first make sure you still have your old unlock_bin code in case you want to reunlock bootloader.

Yes, thank you I have HTC Sync installed and it does not recognize the phone when it is connected either. I will keep searching. Thanks.

Yes, I have tried relocking bootloader, it did not help with the phone being recognized by the computer also when I oem lock I cannot access recovery and such. I will have some more time to poke around with it, I have downloaded the RUU utility although it sends back error with device not found. Thanks for your reply, I will keep at it I know the phone can not be bricked, well I am hoping not!

Contacts Recovery. No Screen (smashed), No Root and no USB Debug enabled

Hi, I have a friend who has just smashed their Desire S whilst out on Sat.
Unfortunately, as the title says, they have no screen (touch doesnt appear to work either but no real way of telling!), not root, no USB debug and I have already checked and they didnt have their contacts set to sync with their google account but with the phone! :-/
Can anyone give any suggestions other than a screen replacement? They have already got an S3 on the way today so just want to be able to restore their contacts.

I think this is definitely possible, but it may get very complicated.
Do you have adb in recovery (you'll have to boot into fastboot and blindly navigate to the recovery option)? Is the bootloader unlocked?

I have just been given the phone today from a friend to try and help them out so im not sure on either? Do you have a desire s and would be able to tell me the button sequence to get into recovery to find out? As for the bootloader being unlocked, i very much doubt it as the phone was running a stock orange rom.
Any ideas?

It is unlikely indeed that you will be able to recover the data as the phone is. If you're in the UK (possible as the phone is on Orange) and fancy posting it then I can stick my LCD and touch panel on it for you so I can recover the data.

Also if u r in the uk, try a phone repair shop that has jtag, they should be able to pull any data off the phone.

Then you probably don't have adb in recovery either.
We can try the easy way first: from the Google Play website (on your computer), download TalkBack to your phone and see if you can launch it blind. From there on, your phone will read to you what's on the screen
If you can't manage to do that, I have another option in mind but it's complicated and you may not be able to recover your contacts:
Unlock the bootloader via htcdev. This will wipe your data, but if you don't allow the rom to boot after the unlocking, this is OK.
Immediately after issuing the fastboot oem unlock command, HOLD DOWN THAT VOLUME - BUTTON. If the ROM is allowed to load, your data will be significantly harder, if not impossible, to recover.
If you held Vol - correctly after the unlock, you'll be in fastboot (if the phone vibrated, quickly pull the battery before the rom starts writing to the data partition).
From fastboot, boot a custom recovery ('fastboot boot recovery.img')
In this custom recovery, you have adb. Pull the data partition and run file recovery software to try to reconstruct the data that was on it but was wiped by the unlock process.
Purposefully not giving any clearer instructions than this, because if you don't know what you're doing the chances are very high that you're going to do it wrong and won't be able to recover the data.

Yup, everything i needed off it worked.
I left it for a while as a last resort because of the risk of total data loss and bought a replacement screen which was DOA!
So you plan came into play and it really worked. It wasnt so hard as the steps you gave just helped me get the order right in my head rather than trying something and mucking it up even more!

[Q] [HELP!] Xperia Z3 D6603 Flashing/Password bypass.

Hello everyone, i have tried to recover and bypass my password on Z3 D6603.
Cannot remember the password/PIN Code at all, so i cant turn USB Debugging or anything else ON. I have tried to flash custom roms and new firmwares and unlock Bootloader with FlashTool/Emma and any attemps dont give results. Also IMEI Unlocker what comes with Flashtool doesnt work. Tried multiple times with code what i got from Sony's site,
My warranty is gone so i cant give my device to them for unlocking or master resetting, so i need to do it by myself, are there any tips how i can bypass my password or master reset whole device without USB Debugging? I really want get access back to my device, its too expensive to leave it because i have bad memory.
Attached a .JPG with this thread, that picture tells my phone information what is possible needed for unlocking this.

You will not be able to enter recovery unless you have installed one. The info on this site is incorrect.
It also says it if for the D6633 not the D6603 which this user has

I have tried it on my D6616 variant and was able to boot into recovery. Here's the step to get into it, Power off your device while it's off hold both volume up + down then hold power button after 5-10 seconds it'll vibrate and load the sony logo the moment it does release the three buttons and press and hold the camera button until green android guy shows up, that should allow you to factory reset your device.

That would work only a locked bootloader
The OP here has not confirmed that the boot is locked or unlocked. He says he has no warranty (Suggesting it is unlocked) so this will not work.
The best way will be to flash a FTF with flashtool, there is no need for USB debugging in order to do that

Well, this does not work for me, and its the first I ever heard of an accessible stock recovery on an xperia phone...
I would love to see some video or screen shots of it

Its not a real recovery, no chance to flash anything there, update or use ADB. It also seems it is not available on all devices. It is not on my phone. (D6603)

Ah you meant custom recovery lol yea sorry us t-mobile users are stuck until we get root exploit. Hopefully this will work for OP so he can reset his device.

No I meant a stock recovery,
All my xperia devices have never had a stock recovery, whilst other devices do that allow updates and adb and backing up user data etc.
The one you showed me is basically just a way to reset the device or enter safe mode.

Failed to flash stock image (maybe full bricked?)

Hi all,
Today I tried to flash an older version of the stock rom (v1.2.1) and thought I didn't need to flash userdata.img. That was a big mistake..
Now the tablet stuck at a bootloop. After that I thought I could simply flash twrp over the bootloader to peform a /cache & /data wipe so that I can fix the bootloop.
And now we come to the other BIG problem. I can't access the bootloader. It directly boots up the tablet with the Nvidia logo. Is there any solution to fix the tablet?
I tried at the bootloop to enter via adb into the bootloader but my PC isn't recognize my device (probably no usb debugging).
There is no way to rescue it? No apx drivers out there?

Your message seems to be unclear about one very important thing:
1. Are you able to successfully access the bootloader? I don't mean your custom recovery. I mean the black screen with very small font words with your serial and shows whether your bootloader is Locked or Unlocked.
From where I'm sitting, it looks like you flashed v1.2.1 without using "flash -w", as well as forgetting to flash ALL the stock img files. Next, it looks like you're expecting a direct boot into the bootloader, which is not possible. You need to hold down the Vol_down button and then hold the Power button until the screen comes on, THEN you need to let go of the Power BUT KEEP HOLDING the Vol_down. If done correctly, you should be at the bootloader.
From the bootloader, you will not be able to run adb commands. Instead, the bootloader takes "fastboot" commands. All this is assuming you've installed the latest nVidia Shield Family drivers from the nvidia gameworks download site.

Thanks for your answering. I flashed all .imgs, the blob file and the .dtb file . Everything but not the userdata.img. I can't access the bootloader with holding down the vol down + power button. I only can access the apx mode with power + vol up.

I notice in your sig that you do in fact seem to have a fully working new replacement tablet. That got me thinking along the following:
1. new tablet is fully functional, old one is not
2. both tablets have the same hardware spec
3. pull firmware from new one, and somehow get it onto the old one
4. hopefully old tablet should work!
The biggest problem is step 3... I only know of nvflash that might be able to help here, but I've never used it myself so I'm completely useless here. Maybe someone more knowledgeable could help out here, but otherwise it seems like you might be out of options.
If you do want to take a stab at nvflash yourself, THIS PAGE has a nice writeup of what some commands do, BUT BEWARE! It's not for our device, so don't just copy-paste commands! As long as you're not writing things to the new tablet, it couldn't hurt to try stuff, right?

It wish someone could help me with NvFlash because I have no knowledge with it.
So it's possible to make a copy of the system of my working tablet and flash it on my old tablet with NvFlash?
I hope someone helpful with NvFlash experience could help me out.
Btw I need to have an un-blob'd stock rom version to get it back alive? Afaik is there no public version.

NVflash is only useful if you have backed up using it BEFORE you brick it.

I have a replacement tablet. I could make a backup from it and use it with my bricked tablet. Do you know how this could work? (As I said I don't have experience with Nvflash yet.)

Okay. So it seems that there is no way to rescue it. Btw is there no accessible bootloader in OTA 1.2.1 because I flashed the boot.img without any error and I don't understand why I can't access it.

Indeed - I was just talking about nvflash use in general. I haven't seen it used since tegra 3.

S10e Literally stuck in bootloops after 2020 Update

So i updated my phone automatically yesterday from the latest update, after it was done, i haven't been able to access my phone in anyway, it keeps on looping samsung logo and a window that says "This phone's bootloader is unlocked´and its software integrity can't be verified" and so on, ive tried to enter either Download mode and recovery mode, but none of the methods seems to have an affect on the phone at all, please help, thanks

Hmm if u have PC download Smart Switch and do Emergency Firmware recovery. That should fix it totally.

The phone was rooted, then flashed with custom ROM, then flashed again with stock firmware. I kept the bootloader unlocked because I read it was risky to re-lock the bootloader.
So, is it now hopelessly bricked?

Thats a good question, far as i know, my phone is unable to get any form of connection to the pc, not able to start up in recovery or download mode either. What i know for sure, there is a way out, we just have to find the way

Never attempt to update if you have rooted and made any changes to the system, deleted or added system apps, modified kernel, changed boot logo,etc.

So, here's how I put the phone in download mode.
I left the battery to drain completely, then without pressing the power button, I pressed the volume down and Bixby button; and only then I plugged the cable. Without pressing the power button, the phone started straight into Download mode.
Now Odin sees the phone, I'm about to flash it with the stock firmware and see what happens.

It's probably Samsung's vaultkeeper that caused the bootloop.

I just wanted to give an update of how I rescued my phone and kept all the information on the phone memory intact (this was one of the challenges, as I had some photos on it).
I put it in download mode by draining the battery, then tried to flash the updated firmware. It didn't work, leading once again to boot loop and all I could do was boot to the stock Android recovery - not helpful.
So I got it to download mode again and flashed the stock firmware it originally came with (prior to the update). In Odin, I put HOME_CSC in the CSC field, to keep the phone memory from being erased. This solved it.
Hope this info can help someone having the same issue.
