I'm looking to buy a spare battery for my Desire and I'm wondering if there is any difference between the "official HTC batteries" or the spare batteries they sell on ebay? The ebay ones are about $5 whereas the official HTC ones are $40, but they have the same specs.

Whoa that's interesting. So an ebay battery ( for example this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/1400mAh-Replace...ewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a5b3663dc ) would probably be even worse?
most probably - yes
yeah dont trust ebay batteries, buy form a reputable place

buy a second oem battery from htc
although the Seido claims 3200 mAh and the testresults "only" got 2691 mAh, it's still twice as much as the standard battery...
Nexus One, OEM 1400mAh -> 1357mAh (97%)
N1, Seidio 3200mAh -> 2691mAh (84%)

How? I've been looking around on their site all morning and haven't found any link to buy an extra Desire battery.

But doesn't the Seido one come with a back cover that sticks out? It's not the same size as the regular batteries.

UK company BMC Digital claims to have a 1600mah battery for the Desire HD... for just 6.50 UKP. That can't be right, surely?
They also have a 1230mAh battery for 16.95 UKP, which seems more believable.
Sorry that I can't post the links yet, as I'm a new user.
The typical capacity of a battery is one thing but what they print on the label is another thing! I think, it's impossible to improve the original battery 1230 mAh about 370 mAh to 1600 mAh and sell it for less than the half price.

Well I just bought one for the hell of it, will let you know it's performance probably this time next week.
I got 2 of them 1600mAh with a bundle from good old ebay. I've been using them and they last at least as long as the original but not convinced they last much longer....
At least they work! so far
Cheers,
hey do you think it will be possible to make extended batteries (with cover) for dhd? because it has unibody

I don't think so, the battery have to be relatively the same size as the original battery, especially when the battery cover is used as antenna too.
try here for batteries - including extended one...
here is the link...
go to mugen-power-batteries dot com and then to the htc-desire section...
There is only one in the list.
its 1300mAh for 45$.
Very expensive and not very usefull.
Only 70mAh more -.-
So I used the one that was delivered for a couple of days, and let me tell you it is utter 'DOG-EGG' it doesn't last anywhere near as long as the original, but £6.50 for a spare ain't half bad.
Hi
Seen the following battery on ebay:
1600mAh Standard Replacement Battery For HTC Desire HD
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1600mAh-Stand...AU_MobilePhoneAccessories&hash=item20b7cc5ca5
Has anyone bought this, and what do you think of this. I know its very cheap
Please give feedback, thanks
personally I think its a bit risky especially at the price they offering..
i still think the stock batteries from htc are the best

Hi,
I'm looking for an extra battery for my HTC Sensation.
I was just looking on ebay and I saw these 2 products.
Is it usefull to buy 1 of these? Or is it just crap?
this one and this one
Greetz
I'd get this one if you can find it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-1900m...ZJMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314363804&sr=8-1
Apparently ones like that off ebay don't have the true mAh they state.
You can get the Anker battery on ebay here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anker-Batte...Accessories&hash=item20bb6b2873#ht_500wt_1156
I found these

Do all the batteries on here fit in the phone with the stock back?

From what I have read here on the forums yes they do... The Anker 2300 is 1mm thicker and makes the phone a slight bit heavier, but its not unbearable.
Thanks everybody ;-)
Where did you find the 2300mAh Anker for the Sensation?
Both the Anker and Chichitec batteries seem to be getting good reviews, especially for the price.

I ahc the chichitec batteries and they are great. 1900 though. If the ones you showed are legit then they could be interesting
Alright so i was looking for an extended battery for my sensation 4G and it looks like there are plenty of 1800mA battery out there that are very cheap! here is the link to one of them:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTC-SENSATI...&otn=5&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=4052291442312785527
and here is another one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X1850MAH-B...821248?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5890953b80
So i was just wondering, are these too good to be true? or are they actually safe and sound?
Stick to anker or chichitec if you want cheap.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G
Or the OEM HTC Evo 3D battery.
But this one is wayyy much cheaper than anker or any other batteries. Its 1/10 of the price!
these ones won't break your cellphone but their performance is even worse than the oem battery. Someone on youtube prooved that some of these are only 1000mah underneith the label. Oh and also if you find the anker battery being too expensive ($20 including shipping) perhaps you should rethink owning such a high end smart phone.

Thats a good reason for not buying it.

what i meant was u cant compare anker with this cuz its a lot cheaper. Otherwise there are even better batteries out there which cost like 100 bucks so...
If you want high-end, go for the 1950 mugen power EVO 3D battery

Listen to these guys, if you dont want to take from our experiences than go ahead and buy it and see how bad they are.
I'd buy it except I hate ebay. But I just bought a 1900mah battery from amazon for about $20.
Cheap will end up costing you in the long run, I use anker and i wouldn't look else where.
Anker is powerfull !
Anybody have any luck with extended batteries? If so what is a good brand to get and where from?
I bought a generic 1800mAh battery on the cheap through eBay. It has worked fine for me.

Yes, but is it better than stock? I highly doubt it's actually 1800mAh. If it is, then the Chinese have turned into wizards.
I am currently using these. I just started using it, so not sure how different it will be. I will let you know.
The reviews are kind of hit and miss
I seen one on ebay where you remove the battery cover, and it was a case too. with like a 3500ma or so.
But I like my Otterbox to much.
I'm using an Anker 1600mAh from Amazon. It's noticibly better than the stock battery, but it takes a week of overnight charging to get the most out of it.
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1600mAh...NRRQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1329521650&sr=8-1
I bought an Anker Slimtalk external battery for mine. Going pretty good so far. I can top up my battery when it goes too low in the evening.
I bought an Anker 1600 mAh and actually performs slightly better than stock battery.. maybe It's the Rom maybe not... Because with ICS I got 23 hours with stock and 18 with Anker..

are the really cheap batteries on ebay any good? How do they compare to the original?
I have a Dynapak(I think that's the name) from Amazon and I notice a difference compared to stock. I think I paid $16 when I bought it for two. I believe it says they're 1600 mAh or 1650. I'm happy with it.

If it fits inside the stock battery compartment then it will never be more than 1230 mah.

While there's no way to prove or disprove your statement without bench tests, many people have confirmed that the Anker batteries last longer in an apples to apples test.

Might just be temporary. Even on ebay the seller laptopmate USA (same authorized seller from amazon) raised the price to $67 to keep people from bidding. But they did not remove the auctions. So they will be back.
Hey goat, still got your Eternity? I use mine as an MP3 player now. Just put a new digitizer on it and its like new.
Never actually had the eternity. I had the impression. And yeah I still got it. I had to replace mine also.
Hi,
I'm looking to replace the stock 1500mAh battery in my nearly 2-year-old Galaxy S. I've had a look around a notice their are some high capacity ones available. However, I'm not looking for those "extended" packs, it needs to have the same dimensions as the stock battery in order to fit into the case I use. I have no idea which manufacturers are reliable, can somebody help me out?
I've heard recommendations of Anker batteries of 1800mAh. You can find them easily on Amazon.

In one of the big battery threads here on the forum 3 1800mah batteries are compared: anker, polarcell and samsung. The samsung is the most expensive. The polarcell and anker are more or less the same price and most users said the polarcell performed the best. I have one of these and it's much better than the stock, so i sugest you buy a polarcell of amazon

You can't trust the mAh-specifications of most batterys anyway so I'd choose Polarcell since they last longer than the original ones.

Hello everyone,
i have a SGS+ with the stock battery of 1650mAh. I am wondering if it worth to buy one of 1800mAh such us the Polarcell you mentioned.
Which is the (average) difference on hours?
Thanks in advance!

I would say if your battery needs replacing anyway then yes buy the anker or polarcell, but if your battery doesn't need replacing then its not really worth 'upgrading'.
