changing all backgrounds and taskbards ??? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

after a hefty search which resulted in a big gulsh of info, has left me even more confused
all i want to do is make my taskbards (the black bar at the top and bottom of the screen) to either partly transparent or any colour i wish, and also this is something cookie tab already does well, changes all the backgroudns of all the tabs to whatever i want (Which i love, thanks cookie), but how do i select which backgroudns for which tab??
can someone answer this, im totally confused and frustrated right now
long live leo !!

Hi! You can download Cookie's home tab 1.8.5, install both the language pack and the program. Then you can press "menu" and change backround, from there you can change backround in the taskbars to mach your backround.
Sorry for bad explanation, but i'm not any good at english
You can get the files from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483

yes, cht 1.8.5 does that, but for anyone who doesnot want to use cht (why would any one not use cht????!!!...lol), you can use bwizard for taskbars and bg4all...for backgrounds

Several questions / problems

Hello together,
I'm playing around with all these apps, themes, roms since 2 days and I already changed a lot of things which are nice, but there are still some things which are bugging me and I can't find a solution for them. it would be really nice if you could help!!
I have installed MaxManila 2.5 V3.0 and the DKBlack theme and several other little stuff.
So now the problem is:
1. that my digital clock has a transparent background, is it possible to change this back to a white or something else? just transparant doesn't look so good in my opinion.
2. The icons on my home tab for the shortcuts are the old ones, how can I change them to new ones which I've downloaded and which are already working in the main menu?
3. Maxmanila produced a crazy flame background for me which is already not correctly centered I think, so at my phone the background is already zoomed in, so its not very sharp. Also I haven't found a way to change the background because it doesn't work with the normal menu. I don't want to stick with the flame bg
4. The Maxmanila Links for Last call,, calender etc. don't make any sense in my opinion, I mean I still have the same links at the bottom, so how can I remove them or replace them by something more useful, like a birthday reminder or something like that?
I think thats it for the moment.
THX for any help!!
Hm...is MaxManila really for HTC HD2?? I mean I realized that they don't have the normal HD2 menu at the bottom? I want to keep that, but now it makes sense that they installed this 4 icons for calender under the clock.
So is Maxmanila really for HD2 or is Cookies Home tab the better choice? Is there a way to change the clock also with the cookies home tab?
THX for any responses!!

Transparent top and bottom taskbars

Hello,
I'm trying to get my top and bottom taskbars transparent. But I have no success.
I tried the cab from smaberg, changed the manila files in windows folder and also removed the taskbar.png with transparent ones.
All this doesn't work for me.
Who has a solution for Manila 2.5.19211619.0.
Thanks.
For transparent taskbars you have to use "HDWall" - search for it
smabergs cab is only for the cutains behind the operator logo and the bottom slider
EDIT:

have fun!
But tbh, this is not a solution for transparency... It just replaces the black backgrounds in the top and bottom with slices of the selected wallpaper, meaning that as long as you can see the top bar, even if in a program, it will have the same slice of the wallpaper.
Real transparency comes for example when you press the windows hard button and get to that menu, that's a real transparent bar at the top... Although it might work in the same way, what do I know. I just find it too ugly that when you're in another program the top bar still has the slice of the wallpaper..

I tried HDWall. But the result is not satisfying. The bottom taskbar is now like the wallpaper. But the top is black. If I go to start menu the background is from the theme only the bottom taskbar is from the wall paper.
If I slide the menu I can't see the background. All is black except the bottom taskbar.
At the end this is ugly.

I played a bit around and deactivated Sense. So there´s the standard WM 6.5.5 homescreen - with transparent taskbar & softbar. Why isn´t this possible with Manila?

Beyond Frustrated!!! Transparency Cabs!!!

I was told that if I copied over the Manila File 4f914e0d with one that was edited to make the text on my home screen, "CALENDAR" go away but it does not. Does anyone have a cab file for this. When I use cookie's tab to "show when relevant" the date and alarm pops up with a grayish background. Also my clock has clear borders around it!!! I'm trying to get rid of this crap so I can have and enjoy the background I like. I've been up since 9AM EST reading through several posts and installing and uninstalling cabs and manila files to no avail. I NEED HELP!!!!

Yea those two threads do nothing for me. There isn't a cab that removes the "text" 'Calendar' from the homescreen. There is one that removes it from the lockscreen. And there isn't a Cab that removes the "clear frames" from under my digital clock. Also I've noticed where people can edit the word "start" on the top curtain...how can I do this?

Clear frames from under the clock??? Are you talking about the background for the calendar/alarm on the home screen? That would be the first cab.
and the no start text cab is the 2nd one.
If this isnt what you are looking for, please give us a screen shot pointing to what you need.
OK do you
see how this image has frames around the digital clock
Also you see the text "calendar" right below the date and alarm.
I want to remove calendar and I want to remove those "clear" frames around the digital clock. Also its not about removing the text "start" in the top curtain...I want to edit it. See the other picture...
EDIT: I removed the text/word "Calendar" from my homescreen by selecting menu/Edit Home Layout: Then I held pressed "Calendar" and it prompted me if I wanted to remove it and there it went.. Now the only thing ...those darn eyeglass frames around my digital clock and editing the top curtain.
That should remove the clock background fully. It is in one of or both posts I posted in post 3.

Didn't work. Most of the Touch X's i've used do not work. I'm running the new TmoUS ROM on my HD2. Also I do not want to remove that "start" in the top curtain as so much as to edit it. Also do you know of a way besides HDWALL and B4ALL to get the homescreen wallpaper to show on the top and bottom curtains as well...?
Are those "frames" not part of the clock itself and not a background. I think you need to look for another completely transparent clock. I'm not sure which one to suggest, but that's where I'd be looking rather than cabs for transparent backgrounds
Interesting

Try these, unzip and copy files to \Windows (backup the originals first ) and then overwrite the originals. You may need to use Total Commander or Resco File Explorer to do so.
For editing the name on the top I use CHT Editor, but you can also try MaxTTM (look in the Blackstone aka Touch HD section) if you don't use the Co0kie Home tabs mod.
EDIT: I see you also use the CHT Editor - so to change the operator name is very easy, go to - Menu\CHT Editor\Miscellaneous settings> and scroll down to Custom Operator text and edit to whatever you wish
I agree with Clyde. That cab should remove the BG of the clock all together.
I have a stock rom T-MoUS as well, and 90% of the Touch X cabs work for me. so they should work for you no probs. Maybe you have something installed that
does not get along with the cabs.
As for the start text thing.. I dont know if you can edit it. I know it can be removed. Not seen it edited to say something ells. CHT will allow you to change the operator text, just below the start text.
After looking at the second pic again. I *THINK* that is a personal rom that Antonio uses. If that is the case, he has that cooked into the rom like that.
You can also try this to edit the Operator name - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359563&highlight=personalizer

You can try this clock and then just use the Touch X cab to remove the clock frame/background - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=261685&d=1262103604 (Courtesy of Antoniomistretta)
Yea I like the basic clock...i'm just trying to find one without those clear borders. And I already edited the Carrier name right below the top curtain...I just didn't know that was built inside a ROM within the Top Curtain...I thought that was a cab...
Now just to be clear

That zip file contains files that will make my home tab top and bottom bars/curtains transparent so my wallpaper will show the entire length of my display?

No. it will only take away the shaded areas behind the Operator name and behind the sliders. To skin the taskbar and softkey bar you need to use something like HD Wall, or alternatively the volDeus tweak (link in my signature) but HD Wall is a little easier to use. You can also skin the bars using MaxTTM referred to earlier.
I do not

transparent top n bottom black bars

hi was lookin for a mod that makes top and bottom bar on hd2 seethrough or so you can see wallpaper but i got this gr8 cht(cookies) mod and want it to be compatible ,,,thx in advance, tried lookin myself but to no avail, btw just want a cab that i dont have to mess with the registry or change settings just want the cab program that i can install and its done........if this is possible i would be ever so grateful.THANKYOU
u need to install cookies wall paper patch and then an actual wallpaper cab. You'll also need the actual wallpaper image to use as your start menu background so it matches up. I dont think it actually makes them transparent just applies a section of the wallpaper behind.

General question's

I have some questions about Htc diamond 2...
How can i change the themes of my device?
Where can i find it?
Its possible to disable the internet acess?(sometimes, by mistake i turn it on and spend me money...)
If im posting in the wrong place, please tell me where can i post.
Thanks
Themes:
On WM6.1. Settings. Personal tab. Today. Select your theme, then press OK.
Disable internet:
On WM6.1, this is how I did it. Settings. Connections tab. Connections. There should be some options like My Work. You can either delete these, or just change the settings to something totally different.

Hi there...Thanks for the help.
In the internet problem i changed the settings and it seem´s to work nice now...thanks...
But in the themes i change the themes where you told me but, i didin't noticed any change...i mean, it seems that the only thing that changed was the color of the text...
When changing the themes, did you want to change the Manilla theme? As in, the whole slider/weather/clock?
If so, that is slightly different. You need to install CAB files that change each bit you want. So if you want a slider that has a transperant background, then install the CAB that does that. If you want different icons on each tab in the slider, then that is harder again. You need to unpack the CAB for a slider, insert your own icons, then re-pack the CAB, then install.
If you are just wanting to change the background in the home tab of Manilla (clock, weather [if WM6.5], calender), then slide across to settings, click Wallpaper, click on No, then choose your picture.

...i want to change first screen, the slider, weather, clock...but i dont know what to install...and what is manila??Is some kind of theme??
I look for manila in the search tryng to see something but i cant find a explanation about it...it looks that everyone knows what is manila and i'm the only one that dont...
Thanks
Manila is like a program running on top of the windows. go to Settings > Personal tab > Today, under "item" tab you will see "HTC sense" checked. HTC sense is the manila.
if you don't wanna use manila, just uncheck it (HTC sense) and you will have a empty today screen. Or choose "windows default" if you wanna use "titanium" that came with winMo.
if you wanna customized the way manila display, Co0kie's Home Tab is a good option. else if you wanna totally change the appearance, go for theme like Maxsense or anything else you can find.
if you wanna change the taskbar icon, find some cab over this forum will do the work.
