I've been working on a Youtube modification which is supposed to add some sneaky features. What's working right now is enforcing high quality videos and download videos to your sdcard.
The modification can be installed without removing the original youtube app

Download folder can be set in the settings
You can choose between high and normal quality when downloading videos.
I'm going to release this once I finished the downloads activity where you can see active/finished/error'd downloads.
Maybe one would like to give me some ideas for other features.

Nope. You don't need root to install the modification, however getting rid of the default Youtube App requires root.

Only thing that it's lacking right now is the download activity where you can see finished/error'd 'n downloads in progress.

Right now only the next level above normal. I'll adjust the mod for the Evo Youtube.apk once I finished this. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Me? No, I wanted to check this app out and it took me <5 secs in Google to find it.
Looks good but still missing a few basic features. App also force closes a lot on my Droid X.

These are a few gripes I have with the app, the first one being the most important:
When going through the library of artists, once you pick an artist you are taken to all songs by the artist and not to a list of the albums by the artist. Sometimes when pressing the back button, the app closes to the homescreen instead of showing the previous screen. If you're playing a song and are browsing your playlist, album list, etc. there's no quick way to return to the player screen that shows the current song that's playing.

I agree, that's a biggie.
I just upload a video of the app to youtube. It is my first video so dont expect pro stuff Just a video of fingering around with PowerAmp

I picked this up and I really like it so far. The ui is great even though there are a few oddities still. When selecting an mp3 from Astro it goes to the player but it doesn't play the file I just selected...the player comes up with the last song that was being played. Still messing with it though and it looks great so far.
i think one feature that would make this a killer music player... that if its possible to restrict musics off one folder (eg. "Music") in the root of SD... this way i dont have to listen to machine gun and other android game sound fx on my media player... veryyy annoying..!!!!
Shoot Me came out with an update a couple of days ago that brought screencasting. But only at 3, 5, and 10 frames per second.
I then saw Amon RA post a YouTube video of him screencasting at 30 fps.
I wanted it, so I baksmali'd the app and started poking around and found it was an easy mod.
I'm including the modded version I'm using which screencasts at 20, 30, and 40 fps. I found that the higher fps value, the crappier the quality video you got.
Yes, even at 9001 frames per second.

I have been using ShootMe for a couple of months. Works really nicely.
BUT I read that it was removed from the App Marketplace, and I don't see it available anywhere. I am still using it though without issue.
I have Googled regarding the Missing App issue, But have not found any info about it.
Does anyone know why ShootMe was removed from the App Marketplace??

This mod completely useless - I've tried it back in January and found that it doesn't actually offer any benefit over the stock app. It doesn't change any fps when the file is generated - it still remains 10fps or w/e. Video looks exactly the same as the stock app.
Close this thread - it's confusing and pointless. The author of the fix and I talked on Twitter and reached this confusion.

I second that. I feel really stupid but i cant figure that part out untill i saw this was an Evo thread. Other websites say to press the top right icon and select continuous...but I do not have that option. Just option to activate the screen shot...shake, shout, and light. Seen the screen shots. Just doesn't exist on my phone running this app. Mod or Original.

I need a new phone The fact this doesn't work on mine and is on my market is frustrating. Any help or advice on to making it work would be cool. I was excited to use this to make videos for my wife who lives in Korea right now while in the military. This would be a tremendous help teaching her the finer points of Android from 6000 miles away.

It's been an incredible journey since me and Liam Spradlin started this project. We set to create the best gallery for Android, providing the best user experience with the best design inspired by Material.
I speak for myself, but I'm sure for Liam Spradlin too, we're incredibly proud of this first production version. I can finally use a gallery that doesn't suck and I can organize my media files exactly like I want to - and I don't need to be signed in to a cloud service to do so.
We're also incredibly happy about the features we were able to cram in. I can't wait for you to try them all and have a pleasant experience.
There's obviously much more to come and I look forward to integrate Google Photos support for Focus 1.1 and much more!

I'll be downloading and trying it on a WiFi HP TouchPad that's still running 4.4.4 for a small amount longer. As soon as a new computer happens I'll try it with Evervolve MM build too.
Upon trying it for music of mp3 format I found it smoothly playing and the only things I can come up with are the desire for slightly less round but sharper control icons and the question of whether there's any possibility for a visualization during playback. Video played smoothly on mp4 format files downloaded from YouTube and despite laughing that the Idiocracy file was a shot of Terry Crews for an icon representation, it played well too. Any possibility of a darker theme for the player?
I want to know about this app,is it applicable in wearable technology?
Google play says my device is incompatible. I have a sprint Samsung Galaxy s6 edge+.

Probably won't, but as you would be moving from 1.15 to this one, it is recommended you do a clean install. You can have issues otherwise.

Yes sir i dit it. From 1.15 to 2.10. So far no problem. And the annoying thing got fix. Such ass proximity sensor and finger print is snappier.

Trigger Bug
After update I'm experiencing that while playing pubg trigger suddenly stop working in between the game. Although when I open the trigger button option and save it. It starts working again but you know it's buggy. Also Red Magic Time has been introduced to record highlights but if you get last kill in pubg it's not included in the highlights. However the recording quality is nice. I hope Nubia solves it by next update.

In Game Mode (GameSpace to be Exact) you can find Red MagicTime after update you just have to click it. It will record automatically when match starts. Also you can just record either highlights (default) or the whole match. If you wish to choose it in settings.
Do the triggers bring up playback controls in YouTube still?

Yes, for me it still does this, unfortunately
It does the same thing in Firefox and Chrome when I watch a video.
It's silly, the triggers should work only in Game mode...
