I can't get it to load feeds on the widget, or even within the app itself. I've tried using a data connection and WiFi, deleting the .apk and reinstalling, switching between Eclair and Froyo builds, and nothing seems to work. It seems to have started earlier today or late last night. Not sure if this is possibly a Google issue, or what the hell else it might be. Thanks.
Everyone is. Google problem.
Cool. Thanks for the reply.
same problem here since yesterday.
Add me to the list too.
+1, same here

I have a TF101 with dock, serial number C10 US, stock, not rooted. I did the OTA update to ICS two nights ago. I did not check GPS then. I just did a factory reset and after getting everything set up again I fired up Google Maps and tried to have it get my location. It could not. I installed GPS Test and it showed 0 satellites. I know that GPS was working on HC. Has anyone seen this issue? I think it is some configuration issue rather than weak GPS because I get 0 satellites so it seems like GPS is off. I checked that GPS was on in settings and it was and I toggled it on and off a few times. Wifi assist does work for location but GPS should work on its own. Anyone having this issue or know what I can do? Thanks in advance for your help.

Does that mean you did a factory reset and then restored all your apps and crap from HC?
Anyway, I just downloaded GPS Test and tried it. Works for me.
No I restored from the market and my Google account.
The backup system Google provides doesn't keep the apps individual settings. Those are lost the next time you restore them. The apps installed via Market is saved though and they get installed again.

The issue isn't really about settings of the apps. Most people use default settings anyway.
It's about the incompatibility of the app itself with ICS, which could be causing problems like rebooting, glitching sleep mode, preventing other apps from accessing GPS, and etc.
You should not be restoring every apps you had from honeycomb, especially if you are having problems.
After my update to ICS I tested the GPS with GPS test and it could see satellites biut didn't connect to them. It took several times clearing everything out and eventually it picked and locked on roughly 7-8 satellites and has been working since then.
But it was really slow initially and I didn't have any issues at all with HC.
You may want to edit your GPS.conf file. There are some GPS tweaks for android that I have found to be helpful. You can also download the faster fix app from the market and see if you have any luck.

Thanks randolphism for the helpful post, I will try.
I tested the GPS before I re-installed my apps and it still didn't work. I am not going to run without apps, the whole point of the device is to have apps. There is no evidence that this has anything to do with incompatible apps. The ICS OTA upgrade said it was converting apps to be compatible anyway.
Your advice may be relevant here, but again, your verbal abuse is unwarranted, if I were a mod you'd be on a vacation by now for foul language and disrespecting others. Officially blocking you now..

Yes, you do, it's called the FORUM RULES. If someone hurt your wittle fweewings then PM them, where your drivel isn't clogging the threads and your profanity isn't on display for people of any age to view. Back to ignoring you now- I came out just to remind you the rules exist, but I'm pretty sure jerdog is going to get to you anyhow.
BYE!
Hi guys,
I face the same problem where my Transformer GPS won't detect any satellite at all... Tried to update the GPS.conf under system/etc... but no luck to get it fix still.
Any suggestion to get it fixed?
if you have root try fasterfix app for your location.

was this issue resolved?
upgraded to ice cream sandwich xwlp3 on my galaxy s2.
gps seems to just endlessly search without ever finding anything. tried fasterfix with no luck.
gps test manages to see some but never says in use.

guys, please help me out, whenever I touch a notification, nothing happens, in facebook for android app, It worked perfectly till 2 days ago but now, since I don't have my PC, it is disturbing me a lot.
I have this issue too (similar)
Honestly, the only push notifications I ever see from fb are messages, and when I try to click it, nothing happens.
I don't know how but they started working on their own again, maybe it was a temporary problem at facebook's server
I can't remember the last time I had a facebook notification. I've got notifications enabled but haven't seen any for a very long time, I just assumed it stopped working since Facebook Messenger was released
try and see if you get same problem with 3g or wifi. I had same problem but with 3g only and that is because it can take longer to load.
They stopped working for a while for me too but now they seem to be back. I haven't ever counted on them working because it's always been pretty spotty
Same error here
Maybe it's going to be a update with facebook app.
I get those notifications too and they are anoying.
It just about time to wait an update from FB devs.

If they were to ever put any actual care into their Android app... :/
Notifications for Facebook never seem to work. I have tried to unistall/reinstall, turn notifications off then back on, doesn't matter. They really need an overhaul of the app!
Yeah i had problems getting the notifications to work on android 2.3.6 on my note. They opened about half the time. I'm trying out ICS now and hopefully it'll work better!
Guys, Im on ICS resurrection remix for a time now, and the bugs you refer are still there, to me the app's faulty. Its only useful when you want to share a photo
is better use a web browser alternative
has been happening to me for the past few weeks. doesn't always happen though, more like randomly
I have been on Sky ICS ROM for quite a while now, and it has the Google Now and voice search for ICS in it and it has worked up until a few weeks ago. When I voice search for anything, my browser will open and display an error saying "We're sorry, but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users we can't process your request right now." Strange thing is, it's not consistent. Sometimes it will work fine, then suddenly gives me that error. I have tried flashing back to stock then reflashing Sky ICS from scratch...same thing. Any ideas what could be wrong? Is it my phone, or is something going on on Google's end?
I've had this problem happen to me a few times, not exactly sure what causes it but only (statistically) happen when I update CM10 with the OTA updater. If I do it manually and include clearing the caches it usually fixes it self, then after that I just fix permissions after reboot.
But yeah I've had that notice popup while I was on data.
Just noticed new quirk with it. It doesn't error out when I'm on WiFi, only when I'm on the mobile network (AT&T). Very strange. I checked the APN settings and everything looks good. Can't think of anything else that could be wrong.
I am STILL trying to figure out why I keep getting this message. I've tried full wipes, flashing back to stock, flashed both bases of Sky ICS, and I am still getting same error message more times than not. I have tried searching online and in these forums for any answers but can't find any. Seems to be either working for everyone else, or the problems they have had are different then mine. Am I really the only one? Does anyone have any ideas?

It's a jb feature and your on a hacked up ics version. It's bound to screw up. Use a real jb rom If you need it that badly.

I was attempting to find the cause of getting this same message from google search. Same symptoms, works great on wifi, sporadically throws this error on data connection. Just so you know, I'm on an HTC Vivid, Holics ICS with Google Now, AT&T.
I am at least more confident that I am not infected with malware....
Still can't argue against you, xcrazydx.
Just FYI, not limited to your device...or mine it would seem....
Hello,
I recently discovered that my battery life had become very poor, and so I checked the wakelocks and it turned out to be RilJ Dialer, leading to a mspi and radio interface wakelock whenever my signal become low or gone( I get poor reception in areas of my school). I learned that RilJ Dialer is used when apps are requesting network location through wifi only, and the most common culprit is Maps. I froze maps and the problem was gone, so I set out to fix maps. It turns out that the background location settings is stuck at manually set location when I try to set it to not report location, it will always change back when I leave the menu. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, fixing permissions, and going online and changing all my map settings through there, and nothing has worked. Is this a bug with Maps? I currently have is froze, and toggle between frozen and unfrozen when I need it, because it takes way too much battery in low/no signal locations. Thank in advance.

I've recently started experiencing this problem as well. My guess is you haven't found a solution yet?

Hey Boojay,
Unfortunately, I was never able to find a solution. I was using Cyanogenmod 7.2, and just froze maps when not in use and unfroze it when I needed it. A few weeks after the problem arose, I had some time off, and so I decided it was time to upgrade my software, and so I flashed Cyanogenmod 10.2, did all the associated upgrades, set up maps, and the problem never came back, and maps is working perfectly as of now on 4.3.1. I'm not sure what Android version you are on, but when I had the problem I tried everything in the original post, but it still didn't work. I understand that your post quite old, so hopefully you have found a solution by now.

No worries and I didn't find a solution, but I'm using a rom now where battery life isn't an issue despite that little quirk.
It seems Google's goal is to use more resources and keep track of our whereabouts at the expense of battery. I'm not too thrilled with the direction they're taking with their apps and OS lately, but what can ya do?
Swyped from my Mi2S
I just flashed Gummy ROM Kitkat 4.4 on my sprint S4 and I am having a few issues. My gmail will not sync anymore. the generic email app gets my emails right away, but gmail app will not sync. Also seems like mobile data is not working right, its really flaky now, keeps cutting in and out....mainly out, the only time I can actually do anything that needs data is through wifi. Just wondering if anyone else had these issues or knows how to fix them, before I go back to stock. Thanks much.
Also, my battery is draining about 20-30% an hour. Could it possibly just be a bad install or something? I am fairly new to all this, so just wondering if it could be an install problem, or just bugs with the ROM still, or if there are any fixes for the issues I am having. Thanks again if anyone can help.
