Ok I just got the HTC Touch Pro as you all know it comes with Opera Mobile. I cannot get the Opera Mobile to display the desktop version of the internet. For instance I go to Yahoo and get Yahoo Mobile!! I went to menu>settings>display>and unchecked the mobile display option. I got pissed off and downloaded the Opera again and the new version went to the desktop page! However with two Opera's on the phone it locks up and does not work right at all. So....I uninstalled the Opera I had installed and the left the default opera on the phone. Does anyone know how I can get this thing to quit displaying the mobile fing internet!!
Thanks guys any help is great I appreciate all the cool programs you guys come up with btw!
called alltel and they dont know why either...lol
well I downloaded skyfire for now.....it works, but if anyone could help me fix this problem I would really appreciate it. Thank you
I have this problem with opera and opening links, using like 5 different rss readers, ive used spb, sbsh and a few others.
The problem is i cant open any links because opera keeps putting file:localhost/ in front of the url. I dont know if opera thinks the website is located on my phone?
strange,,, can anyone help me?
thanks in advance
This was happening to me when trying to use push page bookmarks with an old version of Opera. I upgraded to version 9.5 16xxx and the problem was fixed.
thanks a lot, the update solved the problem. I found this version of opera a little faster but also a little less stable.,
I´m sure soon we will see it for WM

Man I want this for WM as well; looks very nice! We're closing in on desktop browsing on mobile devices.
This looks great! But from the features demonstrated, it seems to act very similar in many ways to Opera Mini 5 beta, so you can pretty much try it out now from the look of things.
no way close to desktop browsing until we get full FLASH content...

Seen live today at friends Nokia 5800 (or whichever number was it) and I first thought it is Opera Mini lol.
Yea, it runs nice on that device. Hope we get WM version very, very soon.

Ah, bit of a bugger the latest version doesn't work. Come on Opera, pull finger!
Slight problem is I don't have an install file for 9.5 (as it came built in on my Xperia X1). Can someone be terribly kind and post a link?

anyone know? Does Opera Mini do this?
is there anything in the registry or opera:config that would enable this feature? I've been searching through both but I haven't found anything... *someone* has to know *something* about this??
Hi there,
I am a complete noobie and just looking for advice and help to understand certain aspects of my smartphone. My main question is - why can't I view video footage posted on facebook and other websites? A message appears saying I need a more up to date flashplayer to view them. I thought as this was a new device it would have up to date software already installed.
I have installed flashplayer 7 but nothing has changed and i don't want to start downloading everything I read about as I not too sure what I'm doing. The funny thing is I can watch videos on youtube which just confuses me even more and i wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew with this phone. Its fast becoming like my wife - its very complicated and I love it and hate it at the same time!
Please help
Thanks Nick
Flash 10 maybe?
Hi Nick,
From what i have heard, it is only the windows explorer (not the opera browser) that supports flash on the HD2.
I have also heard that there is a new flash 10 from Adobe that is available for mobile devices.
Sorry I can't be more help. But I would recommend that you place the thread into the HD2 (HTC Leo) forum. You will definitely get the response you deserve.
Pm me if you get it working
flash 10
im having the exact same problem, and flash 10 doesnt work..... Its pretty damn annoying!!! anyone know what to do???
due to my research I've find out that the only web browser without any problems in opening flash sites is skyfire. Here is the link for that enjoy...
Ups I can not post a link so try to get it from get.skyfire.com
Skyfire
How do you turn the phone to landscape in Skyfire. Watching BBCi, as it would not work in Opera, but would not rotate as the web does in Opera.
Cheers
opera mobile 10 beta 3
I actually tried the new opera beta and it plays flash movies pretty good (simply enable plugins from the advanced settings menu)

HTC HD2 Flash
I have the same problem, i even downloaded skyfire and different adobe flash software
But nothing works..
Sometimes it says: install failed, no matter how many times i try
And sometimes nothing happens at all
Now i've read a post about a tool called FixOperaFlash
I followed everything but still when i try to open a radio stream
It shows a flash button(this time bigger, so something has changed this time)
But still i cant get it to work
So what i need is just a flash player so i can listen to this stream radio
If you have found a solution and u can get this stream radio to work: realhardstyleradio.nl/player/
Then plz tell me, coz im running out of options
Thank you very much in advance!!!!
I am also pulling my hair out over this flash issue.
I have the ATT Fuze and I have been going to Talkstreamlive.com for a long time and now all of a sudden, I see they are catering to the Iphone users and when I try to listen to most any of the radio streams I have used for many many months now, I get the dreaded Flash player not installed or incorrect version error, and it just sits there showing the Adobe icon.
I have emailed TSL but as of now, still no answer to my questions...
What else can I use to get around ths adobe 7 issue? I keep hearing about adobe 10, but as far as I know, that version is not for WM devices, right? If not, where can I get it to try out?
Thanks for any help and please hurry, as I am running out of hair!!

sounds like there are corporate wars being waged over this and we are in the middle. Only if Adobe wants to give in to the rest of the world OR everyone boycotts them to force sites to abandon Flash for something else-will we ever get access to all our favorite streaming video.

HELP!
Yes I have the same problem. Had a look at several "fixes" around the web including the ones on here. None have worked, and the "fixopera flash" one may as well be written in Chinese, as I have no idea how to perform the fix, even following the idiots guide!
Any simple help would be much appreciated!
Bump! please help!
Answers to all your questions
I've read all of your replies and I researched on Flash Player for HD2 and I got result. Answers to all your questions are given below:-
Does HD2 Support Flash Player?
Yes
Can we get flash player of HD2 from adobe.com?
No
Which Browser Supports Flash Player?
IE Mobile- Flash Player Lite 3.5
Opera 10.1- Flash Player 7.0
Skyfire- Flash Player 10.1
How can I get Skyfire?
Skyfire is available for download from WM Marketplace, Omarket, and other App store Markets.
Can Skyfire be easily Installed?
Yes
Will Flash Player work after installing Skyfire?
The Answer to your question is- 'NO'. And the reason behind it is- Skyfire has started developing things for Android and Iphone and currently they have changed their servers. So every time you open Skyfire Browser, it shows connecting but it says 'connection error' or makes any other excuse. Skyfire is No Longer Supported for Windows Mobile.
Get android, seriously
Skyfire substitute
Hi all,
I don't have a HD2 but i do have a HD that has been flashed with WM6.5 and I've recently discovered uZard as an alternative to the Skyfire internet browser.
It's at beta stage but lets you watch flash videos etc like on a desktop and considering it's at beta stage, seems to be really fast. There are a number of posts here at xda but you can just Google "uZard Web P Beta Ver.2.0" to download it from the official website.
Hope this helps some of you
hiho
i have ROm 1.48 on my phone, and IE + Opera 9. The most time i surf with Opera 9. But i hear, there are more browsers for the HD2.
What is the fastest browser for the HD2 at the moment, and where can i get it?
How can i upgrade the IE, if a update is available.
Can u post plz the URLS for the Browsers. I hear only about the IE, opera, Fennec and Skyfire. But could not find any URL.
Last but not least
how can i uninstall Apps like (Bing, Windows Start, Alc Copilot etc.)?
cant find them in the Program deinstallation.
thx
Skyfire download page. It supports flash but I can't say it's the best browser I've ever used. I use my Opera...
ok thx. try this out
i use the Opera 9.7 i think. Is it better to upgrade to Opera 10? What is better in Version 10? Faster browsing? Have V 10 Flash support?
Skyfire is great for its Flash support (it even handles Silverlight) but is annoying otherwise. For anything that doesn't require Skyfire, I stick to the built-in version of Opera. The Beta version of Opera Mobile 10 isn't bad, but I don't like the whole only-two-levels-of-zoom thing.
I really begin to hate opera, it has problem with more and more sites. for example tvrage.com I can't even login. I send my u/p and I'm back at the login page but not logged in. lastpass.com doesn't work, it just goes nowhere. but I get a lot of those annoying layer-ads.
really, opera mobile 9.7 is a big ****-up.
I'll have a look at skyfire until ff mobile is out.

Opera Mini still is the best!
By the way: You can use the attached file to get a signed version of Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 so you no longer have to allow data connections everytime you open it... Just place the zipped file inside "My Documents" and "install from storage" (or whatever your version of Java says) and it should work!
Thank you
MAMeingast
Just put that into my phone, great not having to keep allowing net access and permission... just one question, is there a way i can make opera mini into a shortcut onto the quick links page? I can make Jblend (which handles java programs) but i cant seem to make a program inside it become a quick link?
Hope you can help or anyone else please
Opera mini 5 supports flash ?
Opera Mini is better than Opera Mobile?
Browers HD2
Opera beta 10 is brilliant
isnt this thread for flash browsers, and as far as i know is skyfire the only "full" flash supptoring browser, which dont just load YouTube videos. sadly it doesnt support tabs...

Yes! It has pretty much exactly the same interface and is A LOT faster, even if you enable Turbo in Opera Mobile!

depends on your point of view, opera mini (4, 5 or 5.2) has always been much faster to load up web pages, Opera (standard) is fine if you have a hsdpa signal, but its way to slow to be useful in just 3g speeds.. Opera mini still battles on and makes it not that annoying.

No, I'm sorry, I have no idea!
The strange thing is: On SOME ROMs (back when I used my Blackstone) installing Opera Mini DID create it's own shortcut. On others it doesn't... No idea, what the critieria is...
EDIT: If you find a way, please let me know!
EDIT2: Just found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258141 Should be helpful! Since I use Esmertec instead of JBlend, you have to check for yourself!
I installed Opera mini 5 by going to the offical download page in my phone browser. It couldnt identify my phone. Does that mean it dosent support hd2?
I could install it anyway but when i try to log on facebook i cant write in the login box.
