Instructions on flashing this rom. And most others as well:

when prompted with the white screen press volume down to highlight recovery and press power to select
now using volume buttons to navigate and power to select go to wipe data/factory reset

click on choose zip from sdcard
now find the rom on your sdcard and select and it will start flashing (do not mess with your phone while its flashing)

Sweet, another ROM to test. Get it up on Rom manager!

Awesome, I'll give it a shot once DL links are up

So wait, with this custom kernel you are talking about, overclocking is working???

Nice, cant wait to try it.

Nice do you know if the fps issue could possibly be fixed in the custom kernel

Eventually probably, but nobody has figured it out yet. There is a good discussion about this in the general section with a few people working on it.

no the kernel will not fix the 30fps graphics cap. also im just finishing compiling of a overclocked kernel to test.

edit: also auto-rotation is broken in kernel as well. just checked. and when screen dims touching it does not renew brightness settings

Really looking forward to this [email protected]_OVER: you made some awesome ROMs for the MT3G and Nexus.
Do you have an EVO or are you cooking blind?

Oh baby I got one. Best decision of my life

I couldn't agree more. I switched from T-Mobile 's horrible service and that was the best decision I've ever made. I do miss my nexus though. Looking forward to loading your ROM onbmy Evo. Did you optimize rosie at all yet?

That sounds amazing. I don't know if I'll flash the custom kernel just because the 8MP camera is one of my features...but maybe I'll try it if I'm feeling dangerous do we have to wait for source to be released for camera to be fixed or what?

Very nice, will give it a go..

yeah i figure i will just make the boot.img for froyo now. and rosie is optimized of course. but only stage 1 optimization

;-P love the optimization. That's the problem with stock Rosie, too slow and sluggish. I hate accidental clicks. Looking forward to trying this. I may just have to try it with the custom kernel to see just HOW fast it is. If I get sick of not having the camera then I can always just flash the ROM over it without the kernel.

+1 I love my EVO and Sprint. I switched over from T-Mobile's super sketchy 3g coverage. I loved my nexus One but hated T-mobile!

HAVS what is it :
The purpose of HAVS is to minimize the power used by the CPU by determining and setting the optimal voltage. At the same time, the maximum voltage by which HAVS can scale to is fixed to a specified voltage depending on the CPU frequency in order to prevent scaling to a higher voltage than what is normally used at a specified voltage. The optimal voltage is actively determined for each frequency and temperature. HAVS actively adjusts the CPU voltage as the CPU frequency and temperature changes.
Interactive governor what is it :
This governor is designed for latency sensitive workloads, UI interaction for
example.
Advantages:
+ significantly more responsive to ramp cpu up when required (UI interaction)
+ more consistent ramping, existing governors do their cpu load sampling in a workqueue context, the 'interactive' governor does this in a timer context, which gives more consistent cpu load sampling.
+ higher priority for cpu frequency increase, rt_workqueue is used for scaling up, giving the remaining tasks the cpu performance benefit, unlike existing governors which schedule rampup work to occur after your performance starved tasks have completed.
Existing governors sample cpu load at a particular rate, typically every X ms. Which can lead to under powering UI threads when the user has interacted with an idle system until the next sample period happns.
The 'interactive' governor has a different approach. Instead of sampling the cpu at a specified rate, the governor will scale the cpu frequency up when coming out of idle. When the cpu comes out of idle, a timer is configured to fire within 1-2 ticks. If the cpu is 100% busy from exiting idle to when the timer fires then we assume the cpu is underpowered and ramp to MAX speed.
If the cpu was not 100% busy, then the governor evaluates the cpu load over the last 'min_sample_rate' (default 50000 uS) to determine the cpu speed to ramp down
to.

Loving the fact the battery icon has the percentage in it...Although the percentage is very small!

I think the battery icon in the notification bar is faulty. It hasn't moved from 80%. My battery is currently at 78% in settings.

Yip, display is showing 62% after 20 minutes of uptime. So I'd say that bug is still to be sorted!
I'm getting linpack scores of 41.01 and It's not overclocked, so that's good!
is it the display bug, is your display high?
Also did you full wipe before you came to this rom? i did a logcat of the system on 0.7d and there was many errors generated, i think this is whats causing the problem, but getting a answer out of richard is like waiting for a solar eclipse

I wiped using the new recovery in the rom manager. My brightness is set to auto, which is fairly low, and granted the display has been on a fair bit as I set it all up again!
I suppose a few hours will tell more. Considering this is based on richard's kernel I imagine the bugs will be here too. I have to say though that this one is a fast wee rom!
The display issue has nothing to do with excessive power drain, it's just the status software reporting an incorrect value for display.
So please, leave it be, and concentrate working on i.e video recording (720p any1? Wanna leave the iPhåne 4 in the dust! )
All respect goes to trip for his hard work, I prefer him working on the DeFroST rather than discussing all kinds of crap, wheter the cat should be neutered, or whatever

I'am a (little) source. Before the desire i've had a milestone (stock android, no special interface like sense or something else). I've had the same batterypower like the desire but there were always display around 60 or 70% battery usage. so it seems that this is a wrong (or maybe right?) fact of the stock android.
you have to excuse my bad english^^...but i can the german language much better

Notes about Battery Saver script
Can be used with HTC or custom kernels
It completely eliminates the need for SetCPU or Overclock Widget
Easily customizable if you use a text editor(scripts located in /system/etc/init.d)
It will set Max/Min CPU speed to 245MHz(384MHz if a VDD kernel) and governor to powersave(if available) when a sleep
If SetCPU or Overclock Widget are detected, the script is ignored, so it will not affect them
Preset profiles are:
1.075GHz(custom kernels only) - 100-90%
998MHz(921MHz for VDD kernel) - 89-51%
844MHz(uses -50mV less) - 50-16%
768MHz(uses -100mV less) - 15-0%
Script is specially tuned for kernels that can set VDD levels(Ziggy471's recent are the only ones that I'm aware that can do this), so you will get the best battery life from those kernels
If you want the best battery life from a VDD kernel and your phone can handle ultra low voltages, try the -100mV or -150mV zips in the FAQ section
v1.8

long time viewr first time poster..
so if i change kernel to get 8mp back can i still over/underclock?
"Also, current kernel is limited to 3MP on the camera, so if you would like 8MP, use the stock kernel zip attached but know that overall performance of the ROM will suffer"
Netarchy kernel displays 3MP for camera but it seems the pictures taken are still 8MP... at least for me it is

Netarchy's kernel only changes the wording within the camera to 3mp...if you look at the properties of the pictures taken they are still 8mp. This has been covered in excess over the past couple days.

There are ways to get 8MP using the kernel, that's just there to stop people from posting the same thing over and over. But if you try to change the resolution, it will take only 3MP pics and unless you switch back to the stock kernel, your stuck on 3MP from there on.

if you use kernel in the rom, it will give you 3MP, not 8MP. I tried by taking the same picture with rom kernel and stock kernel, stock kernel gives you 3264X1952, and rom kernel here give you only 2048X1216. I did this test by click on picture detail with these two kernels.
loading this as soon as it downloads, sick!
Going to try this after I get back from class. CM6 has been nice except the battery life has been vexing to me.
I'll post what I think about this ROM later tonight.
How could I just get that splash screen it looks very clean
I loved your work on 2.1. I'm sure this will be just as great if not better. Thanks!
So this is 2.2, right?

Yeah, there are a couple things hinting towards this: in the thread title it says 2.2, also if you look at the build number in the OP you will see that it is based off Sprint/HTC's most recent build.
Thanks for this Calk! EViO 1.xx was sick! Downloading now.
I saw that, but i just wanted to confirm before i wasted my time..
Thanks Calk! I am running your 2.1 right now, and its the fastes rom i have ever used.
Great, thank you very much! Excited to run this.
the perfect rom!!
Thanks Calkulin...this is by far the best rom out there. It will be daily driver for a long time (or until you update it...haha) Although, what aint broke, don't fix!
DLing now...will report back w/ any problems or concerns. Thanks!
It this is anything like your 2.1 rom, I'll be rockin' it for a long time! Or... until you update anything
Anyone know where i can get the Friend Stream apk?

This should be compatible with all GB roms. With the module overclock ive managed to pull 1.4Ghz stable and its lightning quick. Please post your highest frequences and benches with what rom your using too please. It would be good if anyone could help me implement my to add list too.
Big shout out back to bedwa too, thanks mate.
Notes & Important Details
NOTE: Install The Correct Version For You Through CWM.
NOTE: *This may not work correctly on roms which are using multiple/hybrid rom libraries. It should almost certainly work on pure 21A and 21D roms, your milage may vary on anything else.
NOTE: **Although The Gpu Is Overclocked Im Quite Sure You Wont See Any Performance Gain. Ive Tried At 450 & 512 Mhz Similar Frame Rate But With Artifacts On Screen. So This May Go Back to Stock In Later Updates For Stability Reasons. But at Least I Know What Im Changing Works In Some Fashion.
NOTE: ***These Read Ahead Values Do Affect Benchmark Scores For SD Read Speeds. But This Hasnt Really Made Any Other Problems That I Know Of.
IMPORTANT! Please tell me what rom and kernel you are using if your having problems so I can test, dont just say its not working and like i said above hybrid roms may not work correctly until i find a way around multiple kernel versions.

error wifi: Συγχέεται:
yep wifi problem on acura 21D rom . i think this also happens when you use thaiz rom with acura overclock or vice versa , so i believe a patch of some sort would be needed or two different version to fix wifi
Apart from that seems to run smoothly but took ages to boot up but it was the first boot after i installed, so BIG THANKS samno , hope you are successful in getting everything on the "to Add" tasks
Great stuff flashed v21D germany baseband earlier today so will try on it.

Downloading 21D now to test. Definately should work on 21 A and B.
@kampfbestie What rom are you using, does everything work for you?
Hello everyone, I would try this kernel and be helpful for development. I would like information: I have to follow a special procedure to install flash or directly from ClockworkMod? I had problems when I flash the original or other modified by ClockworkMod, or should I install it all over again by KDZ?
ludell; install in clockworkmod
You Samno best ...! The only worldwide that has managed to activate the RADIO. That is teachers. Is the master.
Thanks for your work.
With TeamAcura rom the V21D wifi does not work.
Quiet xafalo that is arranged with the appropriate initrd to our machine.
OK Acura
As up to 1.4GHz?
Wifi not coming up so what's the solution? Am on stock v21D germany
Current solution is to use 21A or B based rom at the moment until i can download roms to test. So will probably be the weekend before anything happens.
This kernel was compiled from 21A sources so we may have to wait a little to ensure compatibilty with other Rom's.
@xafalo you need to use the overclock modules these should be in most current roms.
Type this in terminal
su
echo 1400000000 > /proc/opperator
As up to 1.4GHz?
and to return to the original kernel as I do? and where can I download?
thanks
Flashing it on ThiaiZ 2.6 now, will feedback shortly.
Tested on Thiaiz 2.6: wifi working fine here!
Tx!
Working fine on ThiaiZ 2.6, first boot took ages but it's ok, wifi is normal.
Overclocked to 1.4 with script manager - phone froze instantly.
Overcloked to 1.3 - doing fine so far. - only 3.604 (got over 3.500 with 1.2)

[ROM][GB][KQI]Ginger Revenge v 1.3.0 [dev-paused] - 18/Jan/13 -

INTRODUCTION
Because the poor little Gingerbread man is completely snubbed due to the fever for ICS and JB...
... I decided to "create" my first custom rom ..
I want to clarify: I'm not a DEV and the kitchen is definitely not my world, what I'm proposing is nothing new, the thing that I've done is to pick something from a place and something from another place and put together what for me is best.
So, the big amount of functionalities of Shadow0 and performances/reliability of Gigabread+ ROM (this one based on QKE kernel).
(Obviously before to put "my ROM" here I've asked to kingsonwongs and Texten the permission to do that)
______________________________
Since I've bought my SGS+ I've tested all available ROMS, and in my feelings the best are the two I've named before, I've alternated the use of both for long time, and some weeks ago I decided to try to mix them in way to have the best of both.
I think I've done it or at least I think to be quite near to have done it
... it's up to you to judge

KERNELS
1.Stock tweaked KQI Kernel <--- click to download
This is the Stok kernel of Ginger Revenge ROM, supports custom boot animation, init.d scripts.
It works very fine with good performances level and good battery
2.Feacore Kernel sOCL <--- click to download
This is the Feacore kernel with overclok capability up to 1800 MHz.
It features more governors and schedulers than stock KQI kernel.
I've done a mod so that it's default clock is 1400 MHz instead of 1800, you can set higher or lower frequencies using cpu control apps.
3.BroodKernel 1.3 sOCL <--- click to download
This is the BroodKernel 1.3 with overclok capability up to 1800 MHz.
It features more governors and schedulers than stock KQI kernel, Virtual RAM (SWAP) possible, No JPEG compression (HQ photo's)
I've done a mod so that it's default clock is 1400 MHz instead of 1800, you can set higher or lower frequencies using cpu control apps.
4.SkyHigh Kernel 1.4d <--- click to download
This is the SkyHigh Kernel with overclok capability up to 1800 MHz.
It features more governors and schedulers than stock KQI kernel, Virtual RAM (SWAP) possible, HQ photo's, it contains by default a lot of tweaks like V6 Supercharger, Tunderbolt, Zipalign, Battery and SD Card Improvement etc.
For this reason no tweak scripts ar loaded on init.d folder, because apply tweaks twice can produce strange behaviours, so be careful to load additional (and in some cases unuseful) tweak packs with this kernel!
The main advantage using this kernel is UNDERVOLT capabilities, that permits to improve battery life maintaining a good performances level.
See 3rd post a guide and suggestions to apply good voltage values.
REMOVED APPS PACKAGE
1.Removed Google & Samsung Apps <--- click to download
Removed apps: like Talk, Adilko, animated wallpapers, Samsung apps, etc... (Install package from recovery)
SkyHigh Kernel Voltage tweaks
A good way to improve battery life is to apply some undervolt to CPU.
On stock kernels is not possible to change the voltage, to do this kind of operation is necessary to use modded kernels like SkyHigh or Vitality.
Personally I prefer SkyHigh because there's no issues with SD cards (but if you like you can follow this suggestions also for Vitality).
To set voltages you need to use apps like, IncrediControl, SetCPU, AnTuTu CPU Master, etc... search them on play store
Looking on the following graphic, you can see that SkyHigh kernel does by default (red line) a little undervolt on high clocks compared to stok kernel (black dotted line),
on low clocks the SkyHigh kernel voltage is equal to stock kernel.
My Idea is to try to use more lower voltage values, and based on my esperience using Castagna's Kernel on ICS roms I've seen tha my device works very fine with Extreme UV version.
So I've applied the Castagna's EX-UV voltages values to SkyHigh with absolutely no failures. (See green line).
As you know no all devices are identical, some are more low voltage friendly, some with too low voltages does not boot or not works properly.
So maybe instead to use EX-UV voltages you may try Castagna's standard UV values (blue line) that on high clocks is equal to standard SkyHigh.
Or maybe using intermediate values between SkyHigh defaults and Castagna UV / EX-UV.
Hint: after setting voltages vaules prior to stick them @ boot, do a normal usage of your phone for some hours, play games, run benchmarks to do some kind of stressing, verify that the phone is able to wake-up from deepsleep etc... If in normal usage yor are facing to some problems try use less agressive undervolt values, find right UV values is not easy but I think that playing with values between red and green lines of previous graph can be a good starting point.
Hint2: If you're not a gamer and your primary goal is battery saving, limit the clock to 1.4 GHz if you're using SkyHigh kernel.

Thanks for your effort
Some screenshots would be good..
looks pretty cool, good work
Good work. Working smooth and battery friendly!
Could you add OTA update next version??

This looks nice, I'll surely try it
Dowload link is disabled now. can anyone upload to another service, please?
another location is in upload, it will be available in about 1 hour.
Hello! I want to test your ROM, but you have a problem with download link:
This account's public links are generating too much traffic and have been temporarily disabled!
My advice: use a torrent link!

I've used stock KQI kernel... the only *improvement* is init.d support.
If you want, you can use custom kernels, I suggest witality or Feacore with OC, and why not also Broodkernel 1.3 that support OC also.
____
In any case it seem's (at least to me but maybe I'm wrong) to that stock KQI kernel is a bit better thant stock KQI, specially for how it concern battery consumption.
In fact I'm waiting comments about battery drain from who decided to test my rom.
"stock KQI kernel is a bit better thant stock KQI"..
.. dafuq i just read?? @[email protected]
ops... I mean KQI is better than KQE
