Please note, I've switched to having the MENU and Trackball keys to unlock your phone. Since they're not prone to being pushed while in your pocket,
the displays stays off like it should during standby, thereby helping battery life! Please comment on how you'd like to see this being done for the next releases.

ShadowFrost FULL ROM: ShadowFrost 1.4 HERE.
ShadowFrost kernels:
1. BASE kernel
-CFQ Scheduler
-EXT4 module
-BLUE led actually working
-TUN/TAP
-no OC or UV
-HQ CAM FIX.
2. OCUV kernel
-CFQ Scheduler
-EXT4 module
-BLUE led actually working
-TUN/TAP
-OC until 1267 Mhz, UV for about 50 mV per clock step.
-HQ CAM FIX.
Changelog:
1.4 Updated to FRF91B , HQ Camcorder (800x480), Colored settings
1.3 Updated to FRF85B , Camcorder FIXED!
1.2 Fixed BLUE led, verified with Handcent SMS. This now actually works. Basekernel v5 included. HTC_IME moved to sdcard for easy install, read instructions above.
1.1 Fixed status bar notifications color. Basekernel v4 now included, see changelog below. Removed Google Goggles (stupid thing keeps on FCing).
1.0 Fixed for real now. Verified, both Mic and Sensors work perfectly.
0.9 Fixed mic and sensors, didnt work
0.8
-Update to FRF83 fully deodexed.
-Black theming updated ! See screenshots
-Re-added LauncherPro.
0.7
-Wifi fix (module), also available by installing kernelpackage.
-Switch to NexTheme statusbar theming, modified for FRF72 by me.
See screenshot for details (circle battery mod was dropped due to no percentage).
-USB debugging icon transparant (this bugged me! lol.)
0.6 Gravity sensor + phonecalls fix. Black statusbar update with circlebattery (no percentage yet). 2.1 Apps2SD included, you need a EXT2 or EXT3 partition on your sdcard for this to work, after the FAT32.
0.5 Update to FRF72, Fully de-odexed and black statusbar update.
Replaced Launcher Pro with ADW Launcher, removed dropbear (didn't work).
0.4 Added Dialer One as a replacement for the stock android dialer.
0.3b Updated the BASE kernel to be smaller.
0.3 Removed Richard's OCUV kernel. Own base kernel with light sensor and echo fix. Will release kernelpackages seperately later on.
0.2 Removed SwitchPro 1.7. Moved htc_ime mod to /data/app for easy reinstall or remove.
0.1 Re-added Launcher2.
This will automatically wipe your dalvik-cache, to make sure you have the correct files. First boot means generating cache, so that takes a while.
Kernel Changelog:
-v6 Camcorder fixed!
-v5: BLUE LED actually fixed now.
-v4: Using latest kernel_msm checkout, Blue LED fix, optical trackball fixes.
The OC kernels do not need SetCPU to work, the ondemand governor for cpufreq switches on it's own, to max 1267 mhz.
My advice for now is -not- to use SetCPU.
(This is a modified small kernel, should also work on people with /boot partitions that have bad blocks.)
I would like to thank:
-Google for giving us FRF91
-Paul @ modaco for the BASE FRF91 ROM (MCR r21)
-Kali- and defer for providing their awesome 2.6.32.9 kernel that makes all of this possible.
-liamstears for the modded Settings icons

Re: [ROM FRF50 De-odexed] ShadowFrost 0.1
Been waiting for a FroYo rom with a black status bar, but any chance of a .zip of launcher2 to flash or will any launcher2 .apk end up like with the new FroYo look?

Yeah, I re-added Launcher2. Seems it was a requirement for initial setup.

Nice App will try

Opps Never mind,

flashed and works like a ferrari
Yo, very good rom you made, but it would be amazing if you could add adblock too.

HTC IME error
Htc Ime crash: the applicatiion HTC_IME mod (prosess jonasl.ime) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again.
I wipe everything and flash several times, still got the same error.

A de-odexed FRF50 has got to be a good thing! I'm gonna give this one a go. I liked the cyanogen rom, but I miss the market auto installing all my apps, and I have kind of got used to froyo now!
Thanks for this rom.

SwitchPro 1.7 should be removed from this ROM. It's not free.

That's not good I used richards defrost rom, and I had nowhere near that kind of battery drain.
I take it you have tried all the usual things of starting fresh, no apps etc?

I have not tested battery use with a fresh ROM.
I flashed it after doing a factory reset/qipe option using ROM Manager recovery and then flashing and restoring apps using mybackup-pro.
Do you think thats the issue?
My display is using 69% atm. and boot animation is using 3%.

Very nice! I was thinking to create a mod like this myself, but you already did it haha

It could well be some app keeping the phone from going properly into standby. The display issue is reported to be unconnected. Apparently it's just reporting a high display usage but it's a fault in the battery statistics.
On a side note, this rom seems to have solved the issue with the led turning green at 90% charge. Mine is at 99% and still orange. I'm waiting to see that it goes green at 100%.
Facebook sync with contacts works perfectly, and it's a fairly fast rom with linpack scores of 45.49 when overclocked.
It also is de-odexed so it's a fair bit smaller than a normal froyo rom, and it has the dark notification bar with white font. Definitely my favourite rom to date.
Edit: My led stayed orange at 100%. It went green once I unplugged the charger and then plugged it back in. I prefer this anyway, because, at least now I won't unplug it at 90% when the light had went green!

Also thanks to Firerat, Aeltrius, meltus, ts0cha0tik and Dominukk
Original thread .... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673452
I wouldn't even really call this a port, maybe a bastardization is appropriate ... but, with a little help from the kitchen, I was able to put together a workable version of CR's MyTouch Slide BETA rom.
This port does have working Browser and Gmail which was missing from Binary's version.
- Give it some time (10-15mins) to load
Full wipe ... then flash this port ... that's it
I'm not held liable if you don't know what you're doing and muck up your phone

- 3D gallery has been removed as it was causing the system to lag due to it constantly opening itself in the background
- Camera is fixed, preview is B/W... i have an idea as to y and will release a patch... but the pics r in color
- Dark video problem, driver issue... is now fixed, videos should be bright again
- Removed pdf viewer as u can replace on the market
- Removed IM app due to mem issues... i suggest Meebo from the market

- Removed Faves/Faves Widget as it wouldn't function properly (if i can get it fixed u will get a flashable zip update)
- Battery drain issue should be fixed now... let me know ur personal experiences....
- Flash 10.1 for G1 is something im looking to patch for G1 users, try the included Skyfire Beta browser as it has its own flash...
- Removed Stock and News apks as they were causing some sort of lag issues on G1... remember, the market is ur friend
Not working (the usual)

which rom do I have to flash before flashing this port. I cant find firerats original build which im assuming is what I need to flash. Thanks
Just do a full wipe and flash this port
hmm weird, I did that and it didnt work. maybe I didn't wait long enough? or I just had to flash again. Thanks. And sorry for the stupid question. A lot of people post things that you need to flash something else first and never make it clear of what it is that needs to be flashed.
Does that include the sd wipe?
If you're already partitioned then yes, do a SD wipe
It's like a 76' Ford Fairmont ... You have to give it a while to load.
Run logcat while loading and you'll see that everything is working just fine
haha, thats a good one. Thanks for the info. greatly appreciated

I've been running it a couple days now and haven't really noticed any major battery drains.
It also comes stocked with SetCPU, you can set your profiles and throttle down the processor once your battery surpasses a certain temperature.
Sweet looking build, but It keeps freezing on me while syncing. I also got the reboot issue when selecting theme.

I've noticed the frequent freezes especially after installing apps and the reboot issue reoccurring is also prevalent in the original build. CR should address it in the next update.
What I did was went ahead and partitioned with ext4 & swap and it seems to run a lot more smoother than before.
Yea I wiped and flashed again. This time I selected the advertised theme and just went slower than before. No random reboots and everything is now working fine. It is a little too slow for me right now but I love how it looks. I also like to remove contact photos in my address book view and cannot in this build.
On a side note, does anyone have issues with Nandroid restores? I can perform a backup and restore but when I boot up after a restore it never gets past the splash screen... kind of annoying and defeats the purpose of the backup.
props on this rom/build man. Its awesome. I think its funny that the rom is out before the phone is. haha

Im skeptical here, no offense. haha
Under what circumstances? Logcat?
I just went through every instance I could.
Added event, synced unsynced calendars, agenda view, week view, month view, settings, scrolled through the calendar for a while, closed it and opened it again and repeated. No force closes for me. Let me know.
Some files don't play nice optimized, so that very well could be the case, however I can't replicate.
No offense to you. Contributions is what makes this site what it is. If I were capable I'd contribute too but there are a lot of sense roms. What is the pitch for yours?
For example, I can switch from Fresh to Calk's EViO and it's fundamentally the same rom.
Again, I must stress, I appreciate your work, XDA is great because of the generous, passionate devs.

Fresh ROM has expresso rosie and is deodexed.
Calks rom is slighty themed and is deodexed.
This is stock. Stock looks, odexed (so in my opinion a bit faster) with the same improvements. Like I had stated, this ROM is for the user looking for a completely stock looking rom, but incorporates the goodies that everyone else hands out. In other words, it just works, and works well.
PS my site appears to be down. Anyone looking for this can follow this link

Sometimes I just like stock sense...thanks for the rom!
Just a quick question. Since this rom is Odexed, does that mean that we cant theme it? I dont care for big themes, but I like the smooth sense mod that just changes the notification icons. Is this rom incompatible with themes?
You know what, I've been testing the odex and deodex versions today and notice no differences. I'm gonna upload a deodex in a while here when I finish a few more things

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a stock sense guy myself, but most roms come with a modded rosie. I use a stockrosie.zip that you made on Fresh, but I'd rather cut that step out when upgrading ROM's. Thanks for your work.

Notes about Battery Saver script
Can be used with HTC or custom kernels
It completely eliminates the need for SetCPU or Overclock Widget
Easily customizable if you use a text editor(scripts located in /system/etc/init.d)
It will set Max/Min CPU speed to 245MHz(384MHz if a VDD kernel) and governor to powersave(if available) when a sleep
If SetCPU or Overclock Widget are detected, the script is ignored, so it will not affect them
Preset profiles are:
1.075GHz(custom kernels only) - 100-90%
998MHz(921MHz for VDD kernel) - 89-51%
844MHz(uses -50mV less) - 50-16%
768MHz(uses -100mV less) - 15-0%
Script is specially tuned for kernels that can set VDD levels(Ziggy471's recent are the only ones that I'm aware that can do this), so you will get the best battery life from those kernels
If you want the best battery life from a VDD kernel and your phone can handle ultra low voltages, try the -100mV or -150mV zips in the FAQ section

FAQ
Having random reboots or freezes?
Try flashing the Calkulin's_Remove_Undervolt_for_EViO.zip attached or flash a different kernel
Want to raise the undervolt to -100mV or -150mV?
Flash the Calkulin's_Undervolt_*mV_Settings_for_EViO.zip attached
If you are getting FC's or slowdowns using the -100mV or -150mV undervolt zips, flash the Calkulin's_Undervolt_50mV_Settings_for_EViO.zip to revert back to the one that is included in the ROM or if you want to remove the undervolting completely, flash the Calkulin's_Remove_Undervolt_for_EViO.zip
If your getting FC's trying to use Footprints or Stock widgets
Be sure to install the corresponding app apks from the Removed_Apps folder location on the SD card through ADB, root explorer, etc.
Ex. ADB command
Code:
remount rw
cat /sdcard/Removed_Apps/HtcFootprints.apk > /system/app/HtcFootprints.apk
reboot
How to bring back the hide button on the HTC_IME mod keyboard?
Settings/Language & Keyboard/HTC_IME mod settings/User Interface and uncheck Smiley Hack
How do I revert back to the stock Android Lockscreen?
Flash the remove HTC lockscreen zip attached
How do I revert back to the stock splash screen?
Flash the stock splash zip attached
How do I remove the Sense Launcher?
Flash the remove Sense zip attached
Want to see advertisements again?
Flash the Stock Android Hosts zip attached
So what exactly is different about this coming from your other ROM?
This is based on the Shift build, which has Sense 2.0 framework with 1.0 apps, so it's a little different
ok cool, I'm gonna have to try this one out. I gotta say, I love the rosie you use already but it would be even better if the app drawer button was the middle part (like the stock android launcher layout).
will the EVO ever get to have the "Sense 2.0 UI" with "2.0" Apps??
Officially? No one knows for sure
Calk i been using ur roms for a while now , and i must say great job . now ive been a part of the android work for a short time so forgive me if this is a stupid question but what is the difference between sense 2.0 and 1.0 ??? are there noticiable differences ?? i just loaded ur 1.8 but im gonna give this a shot when i get home

I know for definite, it has the flip clock built in already, but most roms do now. But stock/unrooted sense 2.0 comes with it.
as far as anything else, I dunno.. I think there may be a few icon changes too, and widgets, I could be wrong though.
So how does this compare to Evio 1.8 that just "dropped"? Is the ability to have landscaped Sense home screen now working in this rom? If it is Sense 2.0, but 1.0 apps, then I imagine the only standout difference would be the skin changing on the fly, moving home screens, and the flip clock.. Correct me if I'm wrong
so every sense app is available in landscape?? assuming the shift has to have a landscape for every app becuz of the KB. (dialer/music/mail/sms/calendar/people/app drawer) thats the deal maker for me.
download links not working
is there a proper way to flash the undervolt files with ziggys kernel?
i downloaded ziggy 1/21 CFS HAVS kernel, flashed that, then flashed the -150 undervolt. booted that up and gave me system not responding. Flashed the 100 undervolt booted, and same thing. did that with 50 and remove totally but same thing. Am i doing something wrong or using the wrong files?
I'll try this out. Been waiting to get landscape made.
Not all sense apps have landscape that I I know of and this one is not like the desire HD/ thunderbolt sense , this one doesn't have themes but it does have a nice flip clock, and transition between apps and sense like the HD one, I know cause my sister got the shift and play with it a lot to see the difference. I'm happy with my evo, even tho no sense update I hope they do before April/may otherwise it means that we're probably never get official new sense, but thanks to developers like calk the make the impossible possible (unlike sprint echo phone lmao )
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Does this have the capability for the home screens to go into landscape mode like the Z or HD roms? Thanks!
This is nice, but it isn't like the HD or Z. Also, I can't seem to get sEnse to go landscape in this one. Am I doing something wrong?

I am. My experience through the day has been great. Seems to just run more smoothly than other sense roms.

[rom/kernel] di11is nonsense v1.0 light/FAST/stable

Inspire base with a lot of sense ripped out(almost all of it). Removed most sense apps and all sense widgets. Replaced some of the sense apps with the AOSP equivalent. This will hold some over hopefully until there is a true aosp rom, or for those who still want the inspire base, but without resource hogging sense.
This is getting its own thread since it will be maintained/updated separately from my other rom.
note- if you wanna flash a different kernel
not all kernels are compatible with fugu mods(credit to nikademus-i9000 forum for the initial find)- ask your kernel dev if the kernel is compiled with config_oabi_compat. if its not, it could cause issues and youll lose your bootanimation. FWIW, it will boot without that config, but its recommended for full compatibility)

Will this fix come in the form of a flashable patch, or a complete recompile of the rom? Only asking, because I'm at 80% download on my phone now, and I have no idea how to set these permissions as mentioned. haha.
How much of "Sense" remains in this ROM? The ROM looks slick and I'd like it try it but I despise Sense so I'd like to not be reminded of it.
Set them with root explorer(easiest way if you don't know chmod/adb)
It will be a flashable zip. It's a simple fix really, just didn't double check last night since it was 4am when I uploaded.
To change permissions with root explorer just long press on item/apk that you want to change, and click permissions and change.

Pretty much just a few default apks that I think are decent. Sense framework is still there, but nothing really visible.
A sense Rom is around 275mb or so, I've cut off over 100mb or sense ish, and ill find more to remove
As time goes on ill remove more and more, this is a good start though.
Just what I was working on last night lol. I will check this out later.

Any noticeable improvements in speed? I'll give it a try.
Any word on that patch di11? Thats the only thing holding me back from doing this. Screen shots look awesome btw.
Its coming in a min. Just got home. I'll put up a small update for those who already downloaded and flashed, and reupload with the needed apk.

Nice. Downloading now.
Out of curiosity, why did you make the changes to the GPS config? Does it help with the satellite locking issues at all? They have been driving me to insanity.

this rom looks awesome. just to have a clear understanding, i have the voodoo kernel, and all i need to do is just download through colockwork mod and and wipe data and flash right? Since it didnt update the kernel i wouldnt have to convert back to RFS system right? does mobile hot spot still work on this rom? have you notice a difference in speed compared to stock?
thanks

Just wipe and install. The only time you would need to convert back to RFS is when flashing a non-voodoo kernel. Otherwise you're good
Wow, this looks hot. Checking it out now!
I get a force close on the market when the phone first boots up. It force closes if I try to open it also. I'm able to sync with my google account manually, so it must be something with the market app. Anyone else seeing this?
I'm running imnuts kernal that isn't OC'd. Is there a market APK I can flash? Looks awesome besides not being able to log into the market, thanks!
Is there a 3g mobile hotspot?
