Hello there!
I am looking for an app that will let me enter the URL for an online radio station (.pls format) and supports the wma audio file format. I have tried searching on google for a while, but i can only find players that do either one or the other, never both
Might anyone be able to help me out?

Hey Guys
I wana be able to listen to the BBC websites audio feeds on my WM6 device but, having tried WM Player and Real Player, i'm not having much luck. Can anyone else think of a player/method of doing it?
(i want to be able to stream the cricket commentary)
I've used both WM and real player to listen to bbc radio. It was just a matter of downloading the *.asx or *.ram from the website, and running them on the pda.
tried that, didn't work for me :-(
For cricket commentary you could always stream a radio station (BBC Five Live etc). I use this site:
http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/pda/
Navigate to it on your device, choose your format and select your station. Does the job nicely and you can save the .asx file to avoid having to visit the site each time.
thanks mate, i'll give that a go tonight at the cricket
I am trying to stream my premium account with a special url from www.di.fm My preferred audio format is AAC+ because at only 64k it sounds beautiful on my car stereo
Thus far, after googling, trying several apps, I am still unable to find a solution. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks

Try renaming the file to .mp3

Thanks tho
streamfurious does, but you need the pro version to add an url. I think I tried DroidLive lite in the end.
Well being a total newbie to Android this is probably a basic question, but ,i need to be able to play WMA files , it appears that there is no native support in Android , probably a licensing issue i guess , so are there any apps that can play WMA files that i can download for the EVO ?
thanks
Dan
The Evo will play WMA files. Sense music player has built-in support for it. Vanilla Android does not.

when i try to play the WMA file it says "unable to play this type of audio file"
these WMA files come from MS Office Communicator via email , they are my work voice mails... maybe they are a different version or something ?
any ideas ?
Dan
Not sure to be honest. All of my music is WMA format and the phone plays it fine. My Nexus needed a mod to play them.

Hello. Can anyone recommend a video player that will play mms:// video streams other than yxplayer? yxplayer just locks up on my stream. I am trying to hit a surveillance stream that I have going at my house. The only way I can currently pick up audio is off of my mms:// stream. I'm on wifi when I'm trying to view it, but yxplayer will not play it for anything.
Hi,
I am using xperia x10. But not able to play all video formats on it. Pls help me by providing which player to be downloaded??????
I use Vplayer Alpha for most videos that the default player won't play.
No one has any other option for mms:// video streams other than yxplayer?

Real Player for Android supposedly can do it, I am getting the info from a CSR now.

I see no option in real player to load a stream. Also myplayer...I can't find it in the android market place. It just says not found.

Well, after following this link (couldn't find it in the android market), searching and downloading myplayer's apk from another location, and side loading it.... it is not what I am looking for. It only streams from some BBC feeds and other live TV stations.
What I need is a program that will let me play live streamed mms:// asf video streams and actually let me select the url for the stream. yxplayer lets me start it, but then it just totally locks up If yxplayer actually worked I would buy that, but I am not having any luck getting it to work with my stream. It's a valid address and the stream works on Windows PCs. I've seen other requests out there too for something that does this, but I haven't found anything that actually works.
hi,
can you find any solution for your problem
I search everywhere I can, but not able to find a real solution
yx player is not stable i guess
Nope. I still have not found anything out there that works to stream mms:// streams. It is amazing to me that there is nothing out there that does this. I was hoping Vplayer beta would do it as they just put out an update with the ability to open a URL, but nope. I am still waiting and looking. If anybody figures out a way to do this let me know. None of the above suggestions work.
Hallo I have an IP camera that does not stream mjpeg but streams only .asf video. the camera is a Linksys WVC54GC.
I've tried about 10 players but the only one that let me stream the video from everywhere (means both from lan and from internet: i.e. 192.168.1.115/img/video.asf and my-ddns:115/img/video.asf[/url])
is VPlayer.
hope it helps...i've fighted a lot before find it...
the only one 'compromise' that I had to do is to make a free access to the camera (no username / no password) because the player is unable to manage usr/pwd access...I hope they will add this feature in next updates...
Hi,
Have you found something what can able play mms streaming ?
Hi, as I wrote before, the only one i've found Is Vplayer...
Have you tried it?
They give one day of free full use, then you have to buy it.

I am looking for a solution to the problem mentioned below. I found this question on another forum but it was left unanswered so I thought that someone on XDA could help me/us out.
Hi,
I just got an Incredible and am trying to see if I can use it to play my podcasts (so that I can drop my iPod). Some of my podcasts use AAC/M4a files, which are chaptered and have embedded images in each chapter. I've noticed that the chapters and embedded images don't seem to work in Android. I've tried moving existing podcasts over from iTunes and downloading podcasts directly to the phone, and I've tried several players -- Astroplayer, MortPlayer, etc., but I can't get the chapters or images.
Is this an Android limitation, or am I doing something wrong? (If necessary, a specific podcast I'm trying is The Naked Scientists Enhanced podcast.)
Thanks.

anyone else found this out? My chapters on video's aren't transferring across on the tab. I can play the whole video without a problem on the standard player in most cases but there's no chapter markers despite handbrake putting them in and playing with chapter markers on my mac.
You can
Akimbo Audiobook Player 1.5... support chapters with Images. Now you can listen m4a podcast of Roger Sanchez!!!
