What about My Friend Book http://www.androlib.com/android.application.droidmatic-android-myfriendbook-xAAm.aspx

Thank you, any idea for a good dialer app out there?

Handcent for SMS/MMS is great, can "tag" from a contact list, im not sure if there is a limit, as i have never encountered one, but that's not to say there isn't.
And cant you mass email with the generic gmail app? Id check before i posted, but my phones in the middle of something. If this thread doesn't have an answer for that by the time i can get back, ill update this answer.

NULL for email body text???

Hey guys I'm running into a problem on my Infuse. For my emails that are like a day or more old the body just says "null" however I can still view them on my computer. This is a really bad problem because I do a lot of emailing on the fly. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it? I'm using the stock app, not the gmail one.
On another note, I'm looking at my gmail account on the computer and ever outgoing message seems to show up twice in the threads and the sent folder.
Thanks
Tommy

[Q] Send emails with NFC tags?

Hello, I apologize in advance if there is a thread about this... But i failed to see one after an hour of searching...
I've seen that you can send text messages, place calls, etc with the NFC tags.... and also that emails can be pre-filled... But does anyone know a way where you can SEND an email with an NFC tag?
I send emails daily from multiple phones (to a test email), and it'd be nice to be able to make the NFC tag automatically SEND the email so all I had to do was place the phone on it and wait for the test reply.
if anyone could help with this, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!
There is a forum specifically for NFC stuff under the 'General' forum. You might find a much enter response in there as not many people as actively using NFC yet.

Forwarding an SMS and Manual

Two questions really.
If I knew where to get a manual (can't find one anywhere) I'd not need to ask the first question:
OK, I've received an SMS which I want to forward to someone that isn't in my phonebook. I can hold-press the message and select 'forward', but instead of being able to put the number in to send it to, Hangouts pops up (which is the ****tiest text app I've ever seen, btw) and makes me select a contact. Because there is no contact for this number, I tried creating a new one (although I don't want a contact for this number) but when I put the number in, it won't let me save it; I've tried pressing enter but nothing happens. This is the single most frustrating thing I've found with KitKat so far.
In fact, I have another question:
Can anyone recommend a decent SMS app? Really, hangouts is truly awful.

Thanks, Dirk. I appreciate it.
EDIT: Sweet, MMS.apk appears to do everything I need and nothing I don't. Have a thank you point

Email app that allows scheduled sending

Quite a few years ago I used a default emailing app that came with my phone. (Could've been Samsung Galaxy S3 or S4...can't remember). The thing I really enjoyed was the ability to set a time when you wanted an email to be sent.
I haven't found anything like it since so was hoping XDA folks could recommend an email app that allows me to have multiple accounts on the app and whereby I can choose the date and time those emails get sent.
(Currently using TypeApp on my Android phone but that doesn't have the ability to schedule sending).
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Try this

Or, do a Google search for:
"How to schedule email on android"

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried Boomerang before but it doesn't work for personal emails hosted on own domains. Seems that it only works with Gmail and Exchange type set ups.
Also, the fact that it is a separate app from Gmail defeats the purpose of using it with Gmail.
Having one app that I can do all my emails is the preferable route.

I searched for you and found others that also wanted it certain ways but in all cases they never found a solution, all they got was a suggestion to use boomerang.
You can probably try using google assistant or some other assistant type app along with your calender app or even Tasker to get this to work however choose. Other than those options, I don't know what else to say, maybe someone else has other suggestions.

Way back, I tried backing up that Samsung built-in email app and restoring it with Titanium Backup but I don't remember having any luck with going that route.
I use Handcent Next SMS as my go to app for sending texts because it can schedule sending e.g. yearly, monthly etc. Great for when you send someone a birthday text overseas and you're still sleeping. :good:
Now if only these SMS apps can figure out how old the person is from contact information and the message wished them a happy 39th birthday instead of just saying happy birthday.
I'm surprised there aren't a bunch of these scheduled type apps as it's so handy to schedule a message ahead of time e.g. for someone's birthday.

You could always try porting that app to work with what you have now or get someone else to do it.

I don't remember what phone it was on but could try and find out.
How would I go about porting the app to work or is there a forum to ask someone to do it.
If I remember correctly, I was rooted at that time so could hopefully copy the APK but not sure if there were any other linking files to copy with it.
Thanks.

I don't know what you need to port the app, I'm just saying it can be done if you prefer to use that app. Porting that app seems to be the most likely solution to what you're looking for. There doesn't seem to be any other options that will work in the manner you want or with just one app like you want.

SMS Gateway solution needed

Hi, so we are 5 people with the same number, but only one person can send and receive SMS at any given time. If another person wants to take over, he needs to use #133+ and is then the only person being able to send and receive.
Sadly, we must use SMS, and we need to continue to use the number we already have. The main problem we have, is that it is not possible to see all SMS in one place. Each of the 5 of us only got some SMS. We checked with a gateway provider, they could send SMS as E-Mail then and everyone could see those and reply by E-Mail which would be great, but they would have to assign us a new number, which is not an option.
Do you guys maybe have a good solution for me? I have seen Rest SMS Gateway on AKPPure which might be a solution but no update in 3 years and I cannot really find any further information about it. Thanks for any good tips.
