Seems like his design's glass actually improves on the phone's performance, though.

Hi brother, this is one of the best HTC designs i've ever seen but there is only one thing i don't like about it (the track ball ) i think that you should remove it, it would look alot more better.
Very sleek design you got here. You should send it to HTC and maybe they'll hire you as one of their designer. When that happens I'll be drooling over every phone HTC releases. And yeah, a touch sensitive button for volume and camera would be great.
please remove the chin & when you do so it will be the best HTC i've ever seen.
u know, HTC should fire every one of the designers and hire you.
i think your concept design looks really nice, i also think the glass strip adds form and function
PLEASE, get a job as a phone designer (android) and everyone will benifit from your beautiful designs

that's how i think it should be, really lovely if you remove the chin.

Yeah remove the trackball and make it 4" and you're good to freaking go!!! I've noticed that 4" is the sweet spots for phones its not SUPER big but its also not really small.
If you want more specific I think the lock button should be on the right side because I've falling in love with my sgs's side lock (plus its fun to watch people try and lock the phone). A dedicated camera button would be nice like right above the where the soft touch buttons would be. The curve on the top could be flatter but then it'll start looking more like the iphone (except the iphone blows and this would be way better!).
I think you would be amazing at designing phones!! You should start your own phone manufacturer company and make this phone and make millions!!!!!
I'm looking at purchasing an Inspire. I'm currently using a dell streak. Love the phone, but I really like flashing new roms and there is only one developer for the streak.
So how's everyone like their Inspire? How is the battery life? How are the roms?
I'd love to hear any and all feedback.
Thanks!
well there's plenty of thread of peeps explaining their experiences so just browse on through a couple pages
me personally i love the phone and the price
i get 18-28 hr battery life on stock
i haven't rooted.... maybe soon but i dont see the need to yet
speaker is low, not a feature i use but test out the speaker
wifi is good
screen is awesome
phone was huge for me but ive gotten use to it... although u coming from that monster phone
i actually like sense 2.0 with the black chalk board
i played couple games (angry birld, cordy, pewpew, AirAttack, meganoid) they are off the hinges like a broken door
camera can produce good shots with some practice.. i aint no photographist nor do i expect any spectacular but here are my examples

video is nice, im impressed. some ppl complain but yall gotta understand it's a phone

LED sometimes doesn't light up... thats weird dawg dunno wassup with that
vibrates when i txt, i like that but maybe they should tweak it down a notch
screen orientations was not working at first till i rebooted then recalibrate (all good now)
headphones with SRS is sick wit it
HTC widgets such as the calender are way better than android version
StreamFriend sucks... took that off
Phone is fast, has not frooze, no lag or glitch. this puppy can multi-task
Again stock 1st android and smart phone experience
What a beautiful phone !!
Best phone of all time ?
Well not if you want a small phone or a keyboard, but it you want a bigger screen smartphone this has to be yes!
The main thing, or the sum of the parts, about this phone, is that HTC have put all their previous experience into the form factor and it shows.
For such a large screen device it feels small and light in the hand. It also looks smaller then it it.
The alu/plastic back is the perfect shape for holding and setting down. The front glass is lovely and the way you take the back off is the best way - no slide off shell that almost breaks everytime you do it, rather a release button and a smooth slide off. Even the slide-off is confidence building - the back encircles the main phone can curves round at the top. This ensures no rattling and also sealing the internals nicely.
The build quality is light and day difference from the Samsung Galaxy SII, for example. The Samsung is light and feels cheap. Worse, the last one I looked at in an O2 shop had a piece of velcro on the back slicking it to a small stand. Repeated removal meant that the thin plastic back was warped, one corner stuck off exposing some electronics and the middle had a nasty fold down it meaning it was hardly attached.
HTC Sense is the next jewel in HTC's crown. Sense 3D is no big upgrade but after some configuration it appears as jewel like as the body (I have a B&W picture background from the HTC collection) with dual clocks on the home screen, and a swiss watch skeleton clock on the lock screen).
Operation is fast and smooth. There are occasional jerks but I am sure this will be dealt with with a firmware upgrade (after all, multi-core CPUs are just introduced to Android).
The screen is a joy. Not so bright or contrasty as a AMOLED, but fantastic in its own right. The one criticism, if a bit picky, is that the contrast drops off sharply as you look at an angle. The extra 100 pixels either way over the normal high-spec android is really really useful for surfing and email (540x960).
Main gripes:
1. Not many apps using multi-core cpu
2. Not many apps using full screen resolution
3. Volume on ear piece could be a bit higher
All-in-all a great software effort for HTC's first dual core release but hardwarewise a mature and well thought out build with real ownership pleasure.
I think you could make the Moto Cliq sound amazing. You just made me so excited to have this phone.
What a phone.
Cheers

looks like a 1980s list
Sony xperia play -come on - no review says that ....
I would definitely own the Sensation over the iPhone 4, any day of the week. It's not even close. To me, that's a significant statement to make given how the iPhone has pretty much dominated.
Hey,
I've just come from having an iPhone 4(had it a year, and got bored), and this is my first Android phone. I must say i am happy with the phone, but the best phone ever? Not yet.
The iPhone has a great Retina screen and its build quality is great. But you have to jailbreak it to get some basic features, like bluetooth, customising themes, tethering etc.
The Sensation is great out of the box, not a snappy as i anticipated i think due to sense. But i has everything i need as stock.
Sound is a bit low, and crackly sometimes. But i am impressed.
Cant wait to root it and unlock the real speed of the phone

Yeah like the other dude said, this list looks... off a bit.
Sensation is beautiful but the best graphics?
3Gs the best phone ever? Really?
Nexus One, the best android phone ever? Maybe only to the dev community.
Fastest - Should read fastest data speeds, then yes I would agree with that one. In terms of overall responsiveness, then no.
Gaming phone - could be any Galaxy S1 (Power VRSGX540 is still a beast), GS2, or any tegra2 device out there. The Xperia play has an Adreno 205 GPU which makes it decent at best, physical controls and all. But it lines up with the rest of Sony's product lines - They make a lot of good stuff, just never the best.

I feel the same way but..... give iPhone 4.3" screen and T-mo bands and we'll talk again. I don't like apple, SJ or their nazi ways but there's something fascinating about having a device that just. works. out. of. the. box. Mind you, this is coming from Android follower since day 1 (Got G1 on the day of the release). I'm sick of rooting phones just to make them work and I thought that Sensation will be the phone I can live with. I mean it does sound great on paper but in real life - software on it is big heaping pile of ****. I truly believe that HTC is getting too comfy being one the biggest names in Android game and they are cutting corners left and right. Guess what - it shows.
Can't wait for S-off and CM.

Couldn't agree more! This phone has made, by far, the best first impression (and continued) of any new device I've purchased in years.
I'm not sure why the 3GS was brought up here - I went from the 3G to the 3GS and really didn't feel it was worth it (it was a free upgrade through work, so what the heck). The original iPhone can get a mention, but I wouldn't give any of the subsequent models anything special.

the galaxy s 2 is faster but perhaps new htc software will make it up
however the margin is not worth it compared to the terrible build or Fischer price os

That's a d*ck move you pulled there. Go back under the bridge from which you came. The OP didn't once claim that this phone was better than the GS2. He was merely stating that he's in love with his phone. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone already knows that the GS2 is superior performance wise. Now go back to your Samsung forums and leave us be.

Before you come out here looking like a complete *ahem* ...wait, too late... I was ABOUT to say that you should probably take into consideration that at this point in time this IS the best phone ever available in the United States. For any of us living here, it's a no brainer. As far as the rest of the world - can't people be allowed to enjoy anything anymore?

I agree about how nice it is that the iPhone works out of the box but I have to say I was able to get up and running in no time on my new Sensation just by entering my gmail account info...boom everything was there.
As for Sense I never liked/used Sense before but IF I got stuck with it on the Sensation I wouldn't be ready to kill myself. Frankly I think CM ROMs are waaaay overrated...so they are faster, great, but half the time stuff like GPS don't work. That said I will root this baby the second I get the chance.
......NOT !!!
ps: ok, maybe the best htc phone of all time.
GS2 is definitely more powerful at the moment. But after software update, hopefully the Sensation will show big improvement. I mean Sense 3.0 runs very smoothly on EVO 3d, so there's no reason why Sensation couldn't.
Sound and camera quality on HTC, however, need to be a lot better. Samsung have this, as well as sheer power and speed covered. But of course, HTC have an upper hand in the aesthetics of the phone, both hardware and software.
While I long for GS2's unstoppable power, I really cannot stand its big, non-matchingly-colorful, unpolished interface (I don't mind the plastic build). Same with the Sensation - unbelievably beautiful look of the device and UI, but things like dust under screen, dim screen (compared to EVO 3d), whispering speaker volume and average camera quality turn me off quite a bit.
So, I'm gonna stick to my good, old blackberry and wait until HTC or Samsung
address their weakness.
I was expecting it to suck, given the new OS, 512RAMs and 1GHz processor .. But holy ****
It's like, the smoothest and fastest gadget I've ever used (Faster than the S2. HD7, iPhone 4 and whatever gadget/OS), I've used it for half an hour (Got caught up in heavens and 'till I felt the cashier was pissed off he waited so long lol) and not a single lag in sight, didn't even feel like it was gonna lag. The UI is godly, everything is just a swipe away, swipe left or right to leave the app open and swipe down to close it (Or via the task manager which is a part of the homescreen). I opened a lot of apps and it didn't feel the tiniest bit slower at all. It was a shocking experience.
And the design was sweet minimalist, it sure looks like a plain rectangular in the pictures but in reality it looks very luxurious, and the curved screen (From the outside, not from the inside like Nexus S/Galaxy Nexus) is a beautiful touch.
I seriously considered getting that device right off the market, until I visited the app store, it isn't even above 200. Sure, it has all the basic apps from Angry Birds, Skype, etc. But the need for exploring won't be fulfilled with this one (Beside, no Fruit Ninja).
I wonder why did Nokia give up such innovative and revolutionary OS? I mean, if they kept using it, they'd be one of the best brands out there with an OS that separates them. It's the best thing ever.
Of course, it might have an Android Ice Cream Sandwich port since it's open-source and button-less (It's a very high possibility actually), if that thing happened then I'm switching.
Stephen Elop is by far the worst CEO or president ever, even worse than Gaddafi to be honest.
My experience was a bit different. The hardware amazed me but the software was a downer. I'd already tried WP7 so I had the smoothest and while Meego beats out Android in terms of speed ten times over it doesn't feel like it competes with WP7. That and the OS just sort of looks cheap to me.

When Alien Dalvik is released for the N9, and if it proves to work well i might buy one. I'm in love with it.
nokia never try android os???
I just picked up my N9 less than a week ago. I have tried most OS except for new winOS. Meego is a killer I really hope Nokia will change their mind and keep Meego alive and going. This phone is so sleek and smooth, no lag nothing. Only downside is the App store but who really needs all those apps. Nokia already integrated your standard apps. Its worth the money.
Thank you ,, very much
may got somebody port cm to it like pre3, then it'll be a "usable" phone
I was praying that they would keep the MeeGo and instead they completely went WP. I was working hand and foot trying to solve the N9Seconds contest they had this summer just to get one of these bad boys with meego on it, but never won
I still see no hope for nokia now, I held on to my N900 for as long as I can waiting for an N950 and just died waiting.
I just want to try N9 so badly. It sounds so sick
But iv'e actually got lots of different kinds of feedback from people who have tried it.

Just try it when you get the chance and keep an open mind. Remember, just like anything else, it's nothing like what you're used to.
I came from Nokia to Android and after a slight hate for anything non-nokia, I freaking love my gear! But I will go back to nokia if they up their support of apps and product for meego
Meego was cool, and it'd be nice to see it continued, but wp7 is still a step up from it. I do like that in it's first iteration it's already easily the smoothest open source OS.
I have to say that after having owned lots of android devices (milestone, Desire HD, Galaxy s II, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 5) I've seen how things got a lot smoother starting with jellybean, but people swear that the Nexus 5 its buttery smooth (even the nexus 4) but that hasn't been the case for me, and after trying the developer preview of lollipop (which is super gorgeous) I have to say I'm disappointed, yes I know it's not the final version, but I doubt it will change that much, lollipop just like every version of android before it fails at doing basic things like keeping the launcher in the memory, it reloads it quite a bit , it stutters while scrolling on it and I pretty much gave up on using a browser on the phone, chrome reloads the tabs like there's no tomorrow, tried firefox and the scrolling it's choppy , I've tried also dolphin, opera , next browser and they're just ok .
The whole point of this post is to see if there's a solution, I thought art would solve this for once and for all , but it looks like it's not the case, maybe I'm just idealizing iOS , because I've only used it for short periods of time , when I borrow it from friends, but I want android to be just as smooth and looks like no matter how many cores and many ram google uses it's not able to match that smoothness , even on custom kernels, roms, franco kernel, cyanogenmod, aosp, aokp
Yes I realize that it's easier for iOS to have a smoother launcher since it doesn't use widgets, but apart from that there's no excuse now for google to match them... :crying:

You didn't have to say anything else other than this.
There are also dedicated Lollipop threads.
Some developers are fine tuning as we speak....
Nope, it isn't possible
This phone is like a bucket of grilled chicken. You can eat the wings with hot sauce and miss out on the true flavor. Or you can take a heaping bite into a juicy thigh that's been freshly prepared with all natural flavors... Both are good options. Very good options. But doesn't fried chicken just sound like it belongs in your life? You see..APPLE is like fried chicken.. It clogs your arteries with its "innovative" "intuitive" flavors of disaster which feeds you the illusion that its looks and tastes better than grilled chicken. iOS is great and all. But you can't live your life from only eating fried chicken.. Like everyone needs a healthier alternative. The nexus lineup is gorgeous. Sure, the hot sauce of true experimental, innovative, features on android bogs down the OS..But its not like it's DRASTICALLY noticeable.. This baby is quick and phenomenal. Imagine those thick, juicy thigh bones covered in a lemon and pepper seasoning providing us with custom ROMS that burst with CUSTOMIZATION and FLUIDNESS that you obviously aren't experiencing due to the greasy and tasty blindness of Fried chicken. Fried chicken LIMITS life on planet earth.. Grilled chicken...grilled chicken SUPPORTS life on earth..I am a healthy carnivore. And this phone satisfies me more than a bucket of deep fried skin with macaroni and mashed potatoes on the side. (ITunes, Genius employees). I wish my bucket of grilled chicken had a side of mashed potatoes..

Erm...
You do realise that iOS is far from perfect and stutters occasionally too... have you not seen the amount of people complaining about how bad iOS 8 is?
My nexus 5 stutters too, about once in a blue moon. Considering its a computer, it is almost impossible to stop any form of lag. Even my PC with an I7, RAID 0 SSD's and 16GB of RAM "stutters" sometimes. That combined with the fact that, like you said, lollipop is not even out yet matters.

is just hilarious. Try installing a ROM for an S5 on your nexus 5 and see how well that works out That's what flashing the developer preview is like.
The only reason iOS seems "smoother" is because
A. People like you dismiss the fact that it actually does stutter, either due to ignorance or denial.
B. iOS tries as hard as it possibly can to hide any form of loading/lag/crashing from the user, when behinds the scenes it is crying.
iOS is hilariously bad with multi-tasking, you think android reloads stuff often... try using more than 3 tabs in a browser on an iOS device... yeah, it might always keep the launcher in memory (can't say I have ever had my nexus 5 reload the launcher but hey, experiences differ), but that doesn't mean its better when you switch tabs and have to wait 30 seconds for a page to load again. That combined with the fact that iOS launcher is just an app drawer.
Like you said, you barely used it for any period of time at all, so you can't possibly make a well informed decision on just how good iOS is compared to android.

You do realise that iOS is far from perfect and stutters occasionally too... have you not seen the amount of people complaining about how bad iOS 8 is?
is just hilarious.

Like I said, I still hope the stutters, jankiness, wonkiness will be gone by the time the OTA rolls out, maybe ART will be our long awaited solution, but i'm still a little bit skeptical .
I don't think I'm asking for too much, but something like keeping the launcher ALWAYS in memory, should be a priority, we have phones with 3 gb of ram!

Why is that a bad thing? :/
Guess I have to buy an iphone to really be able to compare, guess using an Iphone 2 times a week won't cut it, but I refuse to buy a phone in 2014 with a 720p display (instead of 1080p, I can skip the 4K display ) 1 gb of ram and a 8 MP camera for such a high price , my bad I know.
