scrren protectors - TG01 Accessories

Anyone heard of these
Bedifol Screen Protectors
im buying some and was just wondering how they faired

I've found the following review:
Cheap, but not so cheerfull, 11 Jan 2009
By S. McLachlan
This review is from: Bedifol UltraClear screen protectors (quantity: 6) for Samsung i900 Omnia
I have used screen protectors on various devices for a number of years, in the past I've always used more expensive brands such as Martin Fields. This time I thought I'd try something a bit cheaper... That was my first mistake.
The screen protectors are cut to size, and are easy to apply if you follow the instructions and I was quite pleased with the results, however, after only two days of use it peeled off in my pocket, I applied another, and again the same thing happened after a few days, I figure that the six screen protectors will last less than a month.
These may seem cheaper, but in the long run, you'll have to buy the more expensive screen protectors anyway.
OK. Just a review, but I've already lived this situation in the past: When we stated with my former XDAIIs (great device!!) I bought cheap protective screens and I replaced them once a week because scree was literally unreadable if I didn't...
I thought that this was normal, and I did the same with my next device, an Xda Flame....
Then I had the TG01 and at the beginning, the first and only protective screen supplier was Martin Fields.
I though (and still think the same) that Martin Fields was (is) too expensive but as I had not any other chance, I bough it...and I realise that all the previous years changing the protective screen every Sunday, had been a waste of time!!
Martin Fields remains as the first day for months!! I replace it just every half year!
Anyway, my goal is having the SAME quality as Martin Fields, with few price.
But please if you try this one, use it during a Month, and give us your opinion.
And if any of you know a protective film able to remain unscratched more than two months, please tell us the trade!!
Best regards.

temporary screen protector?

ok sorry to start a new thread here but am desparate, to get a temporary screen , for my desire, before i scratch it. i ordered one on line from play.com, but heaven knows when it will be delivered, so please, arcoding to you guys, what is the best alternative, that i can buy in the shop, for this phone, in the time being, obviously, bearing in mind there isnt one for the desire yet, but what alternatives can i buy, that are proven, to have worked, based on your experience, i want to buy one preferably, this morning before i fly.thanks.
play will deliver the screen protectors i think sometime next week. Its pretty hard to scratch the screen but have you tried going down to the local camera shop and getting a generic plastic cover which you can stick on and remove when your genuine arrives? failing that just look after it.
I'm using a htc hero protector for now, fits over the active screen but not the whole area if you see what I mean. I have the play.com ones on preorder, they expect them on Tuesday I think.
The Desire ones I believe are out towards the end of April :/
I've got one for the HD2 and cut to size of play, its not ba, you can sort of see its on because of my poor tuctting, touchscreen still effective, but seems more reflective.
I'm still waiting on an official with a HD2 one on my phone
I really wouldnt worry so much, the screen is glass, its pretty hard. The screens are very scratch proof. My HD2 is now 6 months old but hasnt got a mark on it, despite being dropped onto gravel more than once.

Martin Fields Protectors

Just got the email from them saying they're in, ordered a twin pack. £24.99 isn't cheap but I want the best for my beauty...
http://www.martinfields.co.uk/GB/MFOP-HTCDesire
I've always found the MF ones to be highly overrated for their price. I've seen far better noname ones for only a few $'s.
I've seen cheap ones too but have had bad experiences with them, only one I had any good was one for my N97 so thought I'd give them a blast - failing that I'll look at the Zagg ones...HTC ones are poor, had one on my HD2 and it didn't even fit properly!!
I always used to use Martin Fields but my Hero came with HTC ones and I found those to be fine and at £5 from Play for two you cant really go wrong.... (if they ever get them in stock).
Got mine yesterday, amazing fit and you wouldn't know they are they - definitely worth a look (you get a camera lens one too)
Well when mine arrived i first thought it wasn't any better than some random £5 protector i bought off ebay for my Lumix TZ7, certainly at first glance you would tend to think that.
However if you do need to reapply it then the Martin Fields is just as effective as if you were putting it on for the very first time (no bubbles and a really smooth experience). Considering you will be using the phone everyday i do think its worth getting something that will last. Not knocking any of the other high end protectors out there, im simply saying that the Matin Fields protector is better than any i have had before.
I would stay away from the really cheap bundled ones as in the long run you will be paying out more as they aren't up to the job IMHO.
Hmmm, well I ordered a Martin Fields protector from an eBay seller and what arrived... well, I'm not convinced it's authentic. For one thing, the paper sleeve looks like cut down printer paper, and the text has typos. Additionally, having now applied the protector, it doesn't quite cover the screen - it's about 1mm short of meeting the length of it - and having cleaned it *once* there's now a scratch on it. Only small, but a scratch nonetheless on a supposedly scratch-resistant protector.
Oh, and every time I touch it - with washed hands - it smears like a bastard.
Probably should have ordered directly from Martin Fields, do you think...? Or is this the same with all of them?
Mine is slightly smaller than the screen itself but I wouldn't expect it to fit exactly as removal would be an arse - can't say I've got an issue with it smearing but if it does it seems to clean itself, which is strange but nice!
I got a 2 pack in a blister pack, each was in some oxygen-sealed plastic...all a bit OTT but work great

They do smear but i've found mine (ordered off the offical MF site) fits fine (yes slightly, but ever so slightly smaller than the screen itself) and certainly hasn't got any scratches on it, feels like it's up to the job aswell.
That's the trouble with ebay, sometimes you gamble on a cheaper price not knowing if it's the real deal or not. Going off what you are saying i'd say it's not offical, espcially if you say you have scratches on it already.
I've actually had a check, and the protector was in fact from Morpeth Mobiles, an online shop (I actually bought a USB cable from eBay). So it looks to be genuine. The packaging was a sealed hard-plastic type, and the protector was in a thin poly 'sheath' with "This is a Oxo-Biodegradable Bag" written on it. Still looks cheap though.
Meh... I'll stick with it for now.
That's the jobby (Oxo-Biodegradable Bag) - at work so couldn't remember!!
Seems to be correct, I assume you have it the right way up!!
Definitely on the right way up... I think! The side that was against the plastic backing is now against the screen, and the curved end matches the curved end of the screen.
I think I might try taking it off, washing it (or scotch taping it) and reapplying it.
I have got a little scuff on mine from when I went a bit OTT with a credit card to get a bubble out but you can only see it on an angle under light...bar that it's a very good purchase, and I got a spare incase the worst happens to one of them
Not to butt in or anything but i'm using a cut down iPhone screen protector that cost me 50 cent and it does the job perfectly. No fancy oxygen sealed bags or £25 price tags
The Martin fields protectors art ace. I used them for years, but the only thing that puts me off is the smearing. It can be very noticeable. So this time I've gone for a pouch (got a great diesel pouch from the Apple store). So far not a scratch under heavy daily use so its been perfect.
buy them from WWW.mobilefun.co.UK. they are £18 for two and free postage this weekend.

Yea ordered mine from mobilefun yesterday got it today, and i have to say the quality is perfect and it fits properly, i bought two and it was worth the money. Highly recommended.
Had a martin fields for a long time, not sure it's worth the price. Maybe a tad better, surely a lot sturdier and reusable, easier to apply... but not so much as to justify the price. 1€ screen protectors are sometimes ok.
One last thing about martin fields is that (seems to me) they attracted a lot of fingerprints, while cheaper ones are more oleophobic
Well the first time to try such expensive one out to see what difference is with the HTC ones I used in the past...

Screenprotector

Hi all,
Even the fact it is going to take a few weeks, i already ordered a screenprotector.
Brando Ultra Clear Desire HD for 9 euros. I can say Brando has good screenprotectors, so I think this will be a good one
After a year or so, i will remove it. Does the protector affect the touch/feeling/screen typing btw?
screenprotector
If you look at the film at http://www.pdashop.nl/product/61611/brando-screenprotector-htc-touch-hd.html, you will see (towards the end of the Iphone part) that the phone seems to respond very quickly
I've used a few kind and my fave is Marin Fields - good screen protection but screen is still vibrant with colour.
There are four listed here:
protectionfilms24.com/screen-protectors/desire-hd-29798.html
Not sure about the quality of any of them, does anyone have any ideas?
There are so many products on the market at the moment, very hard to filter out which are the best products/brands for the money.

ordered these get very good comments here

"I can say though that the fit is perfectly cut and covers the whole screen which includes the touch sensitive buttons. It has 2 sides to peel which I liked, she used a credit card and it scratched the top of the protector and then we went....fhew..the top layer peels off and it looks perfect, one bubble on the edge that came out easily and it doesn't dull the screen at all, very impressed with it, so much so I order one..."

They do have them now. I ordered one last week and got it deliverd yesterday. Haven´t had the time to put it on yet. From what if seen you realy have to take some time to apply the protector.
As soon as it´s on for a few days I´ll post a review with my experience.
Yes, I know. I ordered a couple last week.
I ordered my brando ultra clear yesterday, got them today. 2 for 16 euro's. So a little cheaper then 9 euro's. Now I only have to wait for my DHD, what will probably be next week
Zaggs are in!
Zaggs are in stock for DHD..

[Review] DevDef HTC Desire HD Full Body Protection (with pics)

I got my Desire HD just yesterday and before I make the big switch from my trusty G1 and wanted to install this protection that I have had for a good few weeks now.
The full body protector set I got consisted of one for the screen, a main back part, sim card slot and battery slot. It came with a spare set too.
To be honest, I'll cut to the chase. The installation was like any other full body installation in that you've got to keep your hands wet with the sopy solution (I had a spray bottle left over from a Bodyguardz set I had for my HD2 I once had). You must ensure you peel the parts off carefully making sure you don't stretch them. Bearing this in mind and being experienced in fitting this type of protection, I found the 'cut' of it to be poor.
The protection isn't "full" in my opinion. It doesn't stretch round the edges and corners therefore the most vulnerable areas to scratches and knocks is not protected. But worst of all, the deal breaker for me, was the battery cover area. I first realised that the main back part wasn't going to fit correctly when trying to put it on. The design of the protection have wrongly measured the battery cover slot and they believe it to be smaller than it is. This means that I had to cut a little bit away from the main back part. Consequently, the little piece of protector that goes on to the battery cover was too short and again means it does not provide "full" protection. The screen protection, I would of hoped, could of covered the whole thing right up to the earpiece grill but it just covers the screen.
Whether or not the screen will be less responsive, it tints yellow after time or shows any other aspect of poor build quality, time shall tell and I will edit this review accordingly.
So it is in my opinion to wait for another brand to release, InvisbleShield is in my sights as soon as its available.
Any questions, Ill be more than happy to answer
Thanks for the review but it'd me much better If you could share the front screen as well.
BTW you can purchase bestskinsever (BSE) DIY size and cut out any shaped as you need. Especially for that battery cover, you can solve yhe problem with BSE

Hi there, sorry yeah I'll upload a pic of the screen tonight. Kinda rushed the review earlier today just before work!
Thanks for the tip about Bestskinever though I think Im going to wait for Invisibleshield or hope that Bodyguardz produce one soon. I really like that for my old HD2
I bought mine, arrived today, it was awful, do not buy, it's stupid. I scrunched it up, do you want a picture of that? £10 down the drain.........oh well, it happens. =D
Zagg Invisible shield
I believe the Zagg invisible shield is already available. when you go to the Zagg web site, just search for HTC desire HD, and it should bring you to the site. I just ordered Maximum protection for AUS $18 (including shipping), but that's after 50% voucher. You can look for it here, and maybe post a request (im sure someone will be nice enough to share.) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=664386
I do believe the Zagg quality is better (including the cut).
Ive contacted ZAGG about suppliers in Europe and this is what they answered me
Thank you for contacting ZAGG, where we are zealous about great gadgets! My name is Dez G and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
We ship to most places all over the world, I see no reason why we would have a problem shipping to your area. You can find a list of local re-sellers in your area via the following link. My best suggestion is to contact these re-sellers for prices. Please note that we can not offer refunds on ZAGG purchases made outside of our website but if you need any of your items replaced under the lifetime, or 1 year replacement warranty we would be happy to assist you.

Edit: Ive just emailed them asking how much protection their best product offers. Heres hoping thatit covers the phone entirely, edges included!

If they make it like their iPhone 4 full body protection - don't bother . The size is wrong by 1-2mm, the cuts for the speaker, button, etc, also don't match the actual size (see the attached picture). I installed just the front and back protectors on my wife's iPhone, because seeing how wrong they are on the plain flat surface, I don't want to know what they did with the curvy edges... I ordered some original HTC protectors for my DHD because IMO they are the perfect cut and with some luck I'll manage to install one of them without any bubles (it's not impossible - I did it on the Touch HD).

Why cant you just ordered directly from their official sites? dont need to go through their resellers. Dont think it's much cheaper to get from their local resellers. Considering you can also get discount vouchers from nice people in this forum. Shipping is not expensive (only cost me $5).
Stupid me! I bought 2 pairs before you! I got my phone about two weeks now, so I decided to have some temporary protection until something better comes out.
And after installing the first one I really felt like I was fooled its so ugly and it doesnt fit well so I decided to sent the 2nd one back the morning after... but too late my mom had already throwed the 2nd one in the recycling bin...
Now Im searching for a cheap but good quality silicone case and a cheap look a like the default HTC leather case, cause I think Ive spent enough on screen protectors!
btw my phone has still the devdef protection on it and I have to admit, it has 2 pros
* No sign of condense
* Stretchy protector
but its 100% NOT scratch proof

I hate silicone cover more than anything, but try this mate, only £2.95, but I promise that this is the best protection out for the Desire HD so far, await the case-mate barely there if you want a metal, as I am doing, I got conned by this stupid DevDef protection!

[Q] I need to order a new screen protector for my HTC Desire

Mod edit: This post looks like spam, but I won't remove the thread as it has useful discussion in it.
It could die. But seriously... screen protectors? Why bother wasting your money? To be honest, you might need it if you have say keys in your pocket, but who's stupid enough? I don't know but screen protectors are a waste of time and money.

To be fair, I use screen protectors. Just to be on the safe side, and they are non-obtrusive. And a waste of money? I have to disagree with that. I got 6 screen protectors off eBay for 99p UK seller- UV protection, anti-grease, anti-dust, anti-scratch. They last for about 3 months.
I think if you want to be safe, get a screen protector. They might protect your screen from damage one day, and for pennies its a worthy investment.
I disagree with Screen Protectors being a waste of money. My phone was in mint condition until I bent over and my phone slipped out my pocket.
It landed face down, on stones. I now have a scratch going right across my screen.
You get really cheap ones. But don't waste your time with those. You won't be able to see very well through them.
Go with Martin Fields protectors. Way more expensive, but worth it. I have one now.
I've used a Martin Fields one since day they were released and, combined with my HTC pull cord case, I've not got a mark on my handset. Small outlay for piece of mind IMO
I got some of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Desi...UKGK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1305831209&sr=8-1
Crystal clear, cheap as chips and doesn't interfere with the phone in any way.

exactly the same as me since i bought my desire. perfect combination and my desire still looks like new.
I'm using Martin Fields atm. I like the fact that it comes with camera protector as well. On the other hand I find it more "scratchable" than Brando Crystal Clear I've been using before. After a year it's so scratched I gotta change it. I'll try either 3M Vikuti or Writeshield Crystal now - these are are said to be among the best.
I do recommend to buy a good screen protector and apply it properly - this is a really good guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015394
You'll never notice it's there, it'll serve you a long time, you won't have to bother with several ****ty cheapos that require frequent changes and worsen the overall user experience (worse screen clarity, bubbles, don't fit to screen properly, don't stick on the edges, unpleasant in touch etc.).
This is my take on screen protectors.
I've been using a Zagg protector for the last 6 months. Excellent protection but find the screen isnt 100% responsive or smooth.
Tempted to try another but worried that it wont go on and fit as well as the zagg...
Has anyone experience with the original HTC-Ones (HTC SP P360)?

I have purchased an HTC Desire from Electronics a week ago. Their services were great and shipment response time was awesome. I am a frequent user of any cell phone. This is the reason why I need a new screen protector. I have also purchased an Iphone 4g unlocked from Electronics, but their protector is the best. HTC guys are bad in giving bad quality protectors and we have to buy protectors once each month. I just want to ask you guys one thing that what will happen to the mobile phone if rain water goes inside?

I had a Zagg and hated it. It distorted my screen and was not smooth to touch and drag on. I have the Vikuiti (3M) one mentioned in the "perfect application of a screen protector" thread and I couldn't be happier. I've had it on for more than a month. If I didn't know better I wouldn't even know it was there. It's VERY smooth and crystal clear so it doesn't interfere with the screen at all.
I just ordered a Brando anti glare one from there site, after watching some video's of it on youtube it looks very good.
