ok here is one last one...kinda a joke
this is to shut up all the sprint guys about their 4g (although it really isn't available anywhere worthwhile anyways)
However, I do feel sorry for all the sprint guys. Sprint has had the WORST phone selection from day one. They didn't have any bluetooth capable phones until 2004, even Cricket had them covered until the evo came out.
Welcome to 2010 sprint!
(note. not really 4g, just replaced the 3g .pngs)

looks good, maybe make the clock background square?

^ +1 on the square clock background suggestion. Well, maybe more like rectangular. But it looks really good! Flashed it already. =)

if you want it more square than that let me know

whats the power control widget you are using

hmm totally square would be great
and is it possible to change the black to the real desire status bar black?
because when i install it it's only black, not the colors like on the desire where the color is a little bit changing?
like at this status bar for android 2.1?

Thanks OP for the immediate update.

has someone the original status bar just to have a chance to revert this?
edit: looks nice.. the downside is only that i can not read any status messages now (new mail.. sms preview text)..
Is there a way to remove the clock completely? i have a big widget for this so i do not need the clock there..?

Launcher Pro removes the entire notification bar for you if you like. When you press Menu it brings it down for you to see your messages or time 3g status etc. Pretty neat.

you could try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6043123
but i'm pretty sure you need the source...

This topic is great and now I can use froyo. The clock was the only thing we can't change until we get source code. How again do we change the notification icon colorsin froyo?
This is a very nice trade off to use in the mean time.

ogdobber, thank you so much for this, i can now enjoy froyo as my full time ROM!

Home++ is a replacement Lancher.apk.
I believe the message here is that if you have Home++, then screenshots come out clear on the n1; as opposed to the garble we are all seeing.

I dont think you can have home ++ as the only theme. It runs on top of your default theme. If I was you I would root your phone and edit the default theme so you dont slow down your phone with a addon like home++, ahome and open home.

Actually home++ makes my nexus a lot snappier.. and the scrolling is a lot more smooth. I'm just worried that having one theme on top of the default theme will drain battery faster.
my screens
Started out with all 7 screens, now down to 3.
Organized the screens as: 1) web/games/media, 2) main/phone/camera/frequent apps, 3) system/control
The Big icons with the glass borders are "launcher dock" widgets, each holds 8 shortcuts. The battery widget is "vizBattery". The volume control widget is "Audio Manager"
I know the the weather widgets look ugly and I the launcher dock icons are too large. (need to try another icon pack)

Here's a quick sample. It'll prob be released with flipz's next kitchen, so all parts will be available seperately as well.

Thats beautiful widgets small home widget.
Yes its beautiful widgets small home. The icons was anotherr thread sorry. All u have to do is go to the market and buy bettercuts($1.99) then the android 2.0 icon pack(free). The bettercuts app lets u use whatever icon pack u want tio use its pretty cool!!
p.s. just type icons in search in the market there are TONS of different icons u can get BUT U HAVE TO get bettercuts to be able to change them. And it will only change the icons on the home screens not when u click all programs
I have attempted to flash both of these over fresh 1.1 through recovery as well as through fresh's pre-kitchen and I get stuck @ boot every time. Neither of them will take at all for me. Ideas?

Yes mate - it's native functionality, so you don't need a cab or 3rd party app.
Go to the settings tab, menu, all settings, clock & alarms, more (tab).
There's an option in there to display the clock in the title bar in all apps.
Hope that helps
Thanks for the replies
Never knew about the built in clock feature but that gives the problem that you can't see the battery, which is kinda annoying cause there's plenty of room for them both!

The BattClock can do all at one time!
You can additionally add the date/free memory in a third row, give various colors for battery states and so on...

Transparent?
I was thinking... can you make it transparent in edges? or something.. Its not a problem when you use the phone, but if you lock it(turn off the screen) and open it again(in lock mode) you can see the edges of it.. a bit sad but anyway nice app!
Use the config (icon in main start menu) and use X (horisontal) Y (vertical) to move it
..
well its not it... THe background when you are in the start menu and such, is going up to the screen edge, not to the edge where the clock, battert etc are.
Not sure if I know what you're talking about or if you even made a try, it works fine here and does not overlay anything after I moved it using the config.
This is such a great thing, not turning back now.

Okay, that's working well... but I use DJC Taskbar Leo 6.5 with this very nice round battery icon... and I would like to have both - battery + clock, but this battery icon + clock... any ideas?
Are there any alternatives to using Battclock and Dutty's taskbar mods? I don't like how battclock has a background that masks over the stock icons, and has to adjust to the changing colors. I also don't want the icons sets used in Dutty's mod. I just want to see stock batt icon and stock clock in the taskbar. Like this:
{

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
Is it possible to add this mod to stock ROM? Or is it only availible for custom ROMs?
There seems to be no way to put both clock and battery unless you flash a ROM so can someone please make a toggle switch instead for clock and battery? It will be useful to have clock when using apps and you know you have a charged battery. It is just too many clicks to get to the Clock settings if you want it to show.

Hey, does anyone know what the "do not disturb" mode actually does? I still seem to get notifications from Google Voice about texts I get. Does it only block the calls?
Edit: It also appears the linked Google Voice isn't the latest version. Do you happen to have a link to the original source so I can request one?
I'll dig up the link and repost later this evening when I get home. Also, it turns out credit should have gone to XSoldier2000 who did the theming utilizing some of Benny879's resources.
That said, here is the latest version 0.4.1.26. I didn't realize I had both versions on my comuter and, therefore, posted the older one. I change all of my icons and it can be a pain in the @$$ to keep my folders of apps maintained.

How to remove black bubble around app icon names ?

Here is a pic of my home screen, nothing too different than stock, I like to keep it clean and simple. But would like to know how to get transparent app icons names, without the black border ? Right now they have the black bubble under each app, is there a way to not have that black border, and just the white icon name only ?

[On Topic] If your using ADW Launcher (That's what it looks like to me), there is an option to turn off the background borders. Not sure, i think its under user interface.
Download Desktop Visualizer free in the market. Use it to place your icons on the desktop and you can do with or without the background, with white text or black. You set each icon up and a widget.

This may vary depending on your launcher but for mine ADWLauncher goto ADW Settings > UI Settings > Icons > New Icon Settings > Icon Label Color. Bringing it all the way to the left makes it transparent I believe.

Any chance you can share the line(s) that need to be hex edited and what they would need to be changed to? Visual desktop was a no go for me. Thank you. I'm on virus' my touch 4G rom and hate the charcoal translucent backrounds behind all the apps.
I am not sure anybody cares anymore, but I posted a reply on page 3 of JS's mod showing the changes in the code. I got rid of the bubbles just by changing
res\values\colors.xml
line 4 from <color name="bubble_dark_background">#b2191919</color>
to <color name="bubble_dark_background">#00191919</color>
It seems to be working fine on my stock ninjawolf's 4.53 ROM with a few other mods that I threw in. I'd show a screenshot, but it's my boring desktop minus the bubbles, and you can imagine.
