Hey Everyone,
My mom recently purchased the Inspire and was using it just fine for about 2 weeks until today when a very odd issue occurred, her phone began sending out and forwarding every single message to contacts on her contacts list example:
I had 10 messages to and from her all of them were forwarded to me and as a result I received a spam of messages that basically replicated an entire line thread of SMS messages. Furthermore, when we rebooted her phone every single contact she had was missing and all of her messages were gone and began to resync from either Google or HTC Sense which I'm not sure she even set up if it even requires it for that matter, anyways once again the phone began to send out messages again and replicated entire threads. If anyone has experienced this problem and possibly knows a way to fix it it would be very much appreciated
I had this problem when I used Bluetooth to transfer from my black berry bold. Going into the messaging app and force closing and clearing data fixed it for me.

Of course it is! It's always RIM messing things up for me...thanks a ton
Hello,
If this is in the wrong forum please move to correct one. i didnt know where to post.
First I would like to say that I have searched google and forums for an answer to this question and have found some fixes, none fixed mine. So here goes my first post.
I have a LG Genesis
Stock froyo
Rooted
Supercharged by ZeppelinRox, with sd tweak and 3g turbocharger.
2 days ago text messages wouldn't send, they just hang on "sending..."
That day it fixed itself after a couple hours and sent the messages out. Without doing anything. I couldn't try to fix it because I was at work.
Yesterday it stopped sending messages again and is still not sending.
Things I have tried:
Reinstalled gmail (I uninstalled it weeks ago because I never use it).
Cleared messaging app data ( on both stock messaging and handcent )
Wiped caches
Dialled *228 on us cellular this updates the phone somehow.
Pulled battery
Checked all apps for startup issues (few weeks ago I disabled startups on certain apps)
That's all I can think of that I have done.
If anyone has any answers or anything I have missed pls all input is appreciated.
Thank you.

Re: Help with text messages not sending.
Some past text messages that were "sending" for 24hrs just went through(but not all). I have a log saved but I can't figure out what it means. I am hoping someone is able to help me figure out what it means. If anyone can help.
here is the logs
Also, mms messages are sending , just sms messages are stuck on "sending..."

Okay, I figured out the problem.
I had disabled the boot completed receiver on the stock messaging app. I use handcent instead.
After I reenabled then messages started sending again.
D'oh!

Hi. I'm not sure if I'm posting in the wrong section, but I need help.
My girlfriend is using an old Huaweii Ice. Just this evening, she told me that she can receive sms from me. The sms shows up in the notification, but when she click on it and open the messaging app, the message does not show in the conversation list.
I tried guiding her through the whole clearing data from the Manage Applications in Settings to no avail.
The phone is is Gingerbread.

My one m8 is not rooted or modded in any way and I am having texting troubles. It doesn't matter what app I am in, sms texts take about two minutes to send and I sometimes receive duplicate texts from whoever I am texting. I have 4g with three bars and I dont know what the problem is. I can temporarily fix it by restarting my phone but after a couple minutes it goes back to normal. I have tried using hangouts, the htc default messaging app and verizon message and they all have the same problem.

Not sure whether this is the same thing, but my recipients are complaining about getting two of every text message from me. It doesn't matter whether I let Hangouts take over SMS or not. I've disabled the Verizon messaging app; I'm thinking of deleting it altogether. Wondering whether this is an artefact of the Sprint messaging app that is flashed with the extreme powersaver mode zip file.
First off sorry for bringing up this old thread but didnt see the sense in starting a new one.
Just wanted to add that recipients of my texts seem to pretty frequently receive duplicates. For awhile I was using Handcent but completely removed that and am using the stock messaging app with the same results in both. I have not flashed to extreme power saving mode referenced above as a possible culprit.
So with that said just curious if anyone else is experiencing this or has any possible solutions? I hate calling verizon but I may give them a call this week on it if I dont get any responses here and see what they say.
Bump. I came here to post a thread on the exact same problem. My texts almost never go through. I've googled it extensively but can't find a solution.

I know this is an old thread and I hate bumping something so old.. but as no one had posted a fix in here (and I'm sick of seeing failed to send messages in my sms app) I know of one workaround that has worked for me. In the default (messages) app, if you go into settings for sms and mms and change priority to High sms and mms work much better. I no longer see failed to send messages and they send in a few seconds rather than 30-60. The only problem is, within that same app, you see a red exclamation point next to every message you send. It's an eye sore but it's the only fix I've seen. I've had this issue on every sms app I've tried and just about every rom including stock. Hope this helps someone...
Edit: I tried finding that exclamation to just delete it from the message.apk but it's pulling it from somewhere else it seems. If anyone happens to know off hand please let me know. I'm going to keep looking for that icon to remove it. I wish this want an issue. It's these little things that drive me crazy.
Edit 2: I found it in the htc framework. com.htc.resources.apk for anyone interested. I'm removing that icon from my phone now... Hopefully it all works smoothly.
Hey guys. This is by far the least technical issue I've had to look for assistance with so bear with me. I've recently noticed that with my galaxy s6 (and possibly my old s4 but it was rooted and modded so I never really checked) when I go to an individual contact in my contacts list it not only shows their picture and info but also a complete text message history for that person. In the name of privacy for privacy's sake I don't really like there being any number of places outside my texting app where my text messages are also visible. I have not found any settings that allow me to prevent this from happening and I'm wondering if any of you can help.
Thanks.

Good call. Just noticed that, thanks. Not an issue for me, but I can see how it may be to others.
Yep. It bothers me that it exists there and I'd have not known except that I realized I had a few contacts with 3-4 old numbers attached to them. I see no reason why my contacts needs to be accessing the content of my texting app. Hoping someone can figure something out here. I did notice that if I delete the messages in my text app they also delete from that contact's history as well but I should not have to delete texts just to prevent my contact list from accessing them. This needs to be fixable or at least something you can toggle.

I don't use sms messages. The only one I saw that had messages listed in their listing was my mother-in-law who is one of the few people I text to. I use hangouts for most everyone else but don't text that often..
Thank you for pointing this out. Hope there is a fix.

In call settings there is an option to enable or disable "Show Caller Information", which is supposed to be the communication history. I tried disabling it to see if it would stop showing texts in the contact list, but it did not. It may prevent future messages from showing, but I won't know until I get another text.
