docking / desktop charger - Desire Accessories

Hi,
I've just ordered a desire. It was a tough choice between this and the nexus one. One the the reasons I favoured the nexus one was because of the car mount and desktop stand. HTC are just about to release a car mount, but does anyone know of a desktop mount that will also activate the desktop 'mode' when inserted?
Thanks.

What do you mean activate desktop mode? I use the apk released on here that auto runs the desktop clock and that works a treat every time I put the desire into its dock

thanks for this, of all my years of using WM I didn't know this app was capable of doing this.
thanks for pointing that that out i forgot of that
but...is there anyway you can connect through usb instead of bt? i dont have bt on my pc or laptop and just want it going thru usb so it wouldn't kill my battery life
so no app to connect your phone via usb to use as a touch pad ;(
why not using wireless lan?
works like a charm for me..this app is just fantastic =)

Just bought this app. And I am using it to reply to this thread using my phone through the computer.

I paid because I get paid for the work that I do, don't you?
Besides, there are so many poor apps out there, when someone does something this good I am happy to pay/donate.
yeah you're right..maybe you missunderstood me. i dont use the pro as a crack. i just use the free one
and i would also donate something..but damn, i'm a student only 16 years old...i havent got that much money

i need it charged hd2 battery life isnt long u know using wifi to connect to the laptop reduces both the laptops and phones battery life on the go...
How to connect phone and PC with wireless? this app is awsome, and i would like to have it.. i have wireless router tp link on pc..
download the program from their site...connect the phone to the laptop install the app on the phone...open cab and press connect...it will bring you add menu screen and press add computer and detect (make sure your wifi on)
then you will see your computers name come up after scanning press add and connect...
though i still dont think the app is as good as it could get...
the gpad app on android can connect through usb though...just think the wifi signal is inconsistent...and scrolling down is a pain in the ass cause once you scroll down it goes the whole way down...very hard...

Car dock with official froyo

Anyone try the audio out with it yet?
[xda premium]
SCH-I500 - EC01/EC10 ComaVolt Voodoo/Crysis Revolution/Zeam Launcher
I know the audio jack on the desktop dock doesn't work still after 2.2. Tried yesterday..
I have both the car dock and the desk dock and they both work now, but the only problem is that you have to go into the dock mode for that dock (desk view for the desk dock) and click the little speaker button. It would be super if we could just get a shortcut so I could auto activate it with locale our something similar...
Same here, but what's weird is that the jack on the car mount works fine.
use Galaxy Dock Sound Redirector...

yeah, i felt the same way when I found this (and expected many more similar reactions to the news of it here in the fascinate forums). It's simply indispensible for regular audio-out usage with the car or media docks.
please go thank xcaliburinhand - I just felt compelled to help spread the news...

This is just flat out amazing. This really should be included in the Community Rom. I have been looking for this since 2.2.1 released to the dev community. Thank you so much for pointing this out!
::Edit:: I also found if you hit the icon that you think would mute the sound in the car dock, it switches to the dock audio.

View and control phone screen using PC via USB cable

Hey guys,
I used to stream my iphone screen to my PC and was able to control it using keyboard and mouse. Is there a similar way to do this with the skyrocket? It makes it convenient here at work. Thanks!

Try this. It is what I used when my screen was broke. Make sure you have adb running, else it will not launch. Another thing is it is not working anymore on my particular ICS Rom. Should work fine on any GB rom, though. Hope this helps!
Here is the link to the google code page for this project. I take NO credit for this helpful app whatsoever. Devs and further info can be found here- http://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
Note- It is a bit slower than your probably use to, but it is the only app I could find for our device.
^^ Thanks. Testing it now.
Our new app, VMLite VNC Server, should fulfill your needs, it does exactly what you need, to control android phones or devices from a PC, so you can use the external keyboard/mouse, etc. We app has fast responses, and works on rooted or non-rooted devices.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vmlite.vncserver&hl=en
so far our users like it. You can simply click a button to do USB connection:
more info here:
http://www.vmlite.com/vaac/#usb_connection
i use a program called MyPhoneExplorer and the corresponding Android app is in the store.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 AT&T and I also have a busted screen. I am trying to just pull my pictures off of it before my replacement arrives. I downloaded the SDK package you linked to but lack the knowledge to just get it to link to my phone via USB. To complicate matters I had it pattern locked but since I can't get the screen to work at all I can't unlock the phone. If I could my computer sees the phone as a portable device but won't show me any of it's files. Any pointers would be helpful.
Hmm
Well, I have a HDMI IN port in my rig . And with a MHL adapter, works perfectly fine on Windows 8.

I use an MHL adapter as well but will matter if the screen isn't functional? As far as I'm aware you still have to direct it via the touch screen....

HDMI For Sensation

Hey I'm looking to get my phone screen to show up on my tv and i was just curious if this HDMI cord is compatible with our sensations, let me know, thanks

Don't think so
What you need is a MHL cable or a craddle that includes it
I bought one from a seller in EBAY... and it worked flawless.
It's a craddle from KiDiGi, you can find it in it's home page. Can't post it here because of the rules of the forum
:good:
Just remember that a MHL cable needs power to function
Sorry to bug but could you perhaps pm me a cheap good one, so I know what I'm looking for exactly, greatly appreciated

Any MHL adapter should work... I bought a cheap one off eBay and it works great.
Has anyone used MHL with a de-sensed ROM? For example I am running Elegancia 3.6 with Nova launcher. Should it work ok and will the screen rotate to landscape on my TV? Just wanted to check, as any videos of MHL that I have seen for the Sensation show portrait orientated Sense launcher.

Just to update, went ahead and ordered an MHL cable from ebay (under £5) and it works great. Didn't work with my 40" Samsung as its nearly 5 years old, but worked with my smaller led tv.

Be carefull wenn using cheap MHL-adapters in a moving vehicle.
The switching between 2G and 3G network can cause serious interference (white snow/flickering)..

Thanks for the tip, but I doubt it will make it outside of my house!
No problem.
I'm using one in my car with my Appradio (Pioneer SPH-DA100). Found out the hard way...
If (IF!) you're getting any interference at home, try putting network-settings in HSPDA-only.
You'll probably just fine, but maybe this info is of any use to someone else who reads it.

It is a beautiful system IF you use ARLiberator. That app lets you mirror the full phone to the radio with touchscreen!
It's like having a 7 inch phone in your car.

im interested in the cat5 especially as i cant use wifi at work, sadly so my options are limited...

The screen is matched only by the Retina display. Best Android screen on the market. We've had 4 or 5 updates so far, including JB as one of the first non-Google companies.

I have some friends that work for the government and their in the same boat as you. They aren't even allowed to use wireless when their traveling and it's available.
Thanks for this, sounds good. Only thing left to work out is line in then i guess, if someone could test this for me it would be really helpful. Its the last piece of the puzzle i think.
One other question, i take it the only "pairing" the tablet does with the keyboard is just being plugged in? The reason i ask is that if i buy a couple of tablets and keyboards (me and the mrs) can we just swap the keyboards round without any pairing faff?

As far as I know, you can interchange the docks. There's a driver for it installed in Android from the start. There's no personalized settings or anything stored in the dock itself. Plug and Play.

If you are located outside the US in Europe this would be your answer.
If you're a US user then your stuck with the complex USB adapter scenario it seems.
perfect, that actually looks just what im after, simple easy and with cat5 in built. shame it doesnt have line in then it really would be ideal!
edit: just need to find someone that will actually supply it to me now!
