Hi guys, I am Markla709 aka Spencer. So, I am running a droid eris 2.1 un rooted un leaked and I tried rooting today. A dev told me that I have a new bootmenu or boot version so it wont work. I was curious, if you havent/not doing so already, if one of you geniuses could root android 2.1 on the new droid eris. I could pay you, possibly. Post here and I will get back to you ASAP.

there is no 1.6 roms for the cliq, there is a beta port of a cyanogen rom, but last i checked it was just useable(telephonicly, if thats a word) but lots still didnt work, moto has stated they will just do motoblur updates then jump to android 2.1

not really an answer
I am running the same HTC version as you and used unrEVOked3. I would like to hear why you didn't want to root that way again. I just recently rooted my friends phone using unrEVOked3 too. email me at bobbyoftulsa @ yahoo.com so as not to crowd the thread. I haven't had a problem yet.. just want the opinion so I might start over.
I am going to trade in my Droid A855 for a refurbed Droid X at Verizon. Assuming it has the latest post 2.2 build on it, what would be the best way to root it once I get it, assuming it can be done?

z4root is probably your best bet, which can be found here on XDA.
Do it
z4root.apk is the best and easy way of doing it. also official firmware is 2.2.1 but there is a leaked gingerbread 2.3.3 running amazing way better then 2.2.1. you will hate 2.2 but moto did a really nice job on 2.3. its very easy to root and flash
Any possibility of gingerbread on the Kyocera Sanyo Zio? Or A hacked version of froyo? I am already running openZIO 2.1 on it, which I flashed from the stock 2.2 rom that came preloaded from cricket.

If Im not mistaken, ZIO production has been haulted, so I truly dont think you will be able to find a 2.3 for this device. Sanyo is Sprint exclusive, so I dont know if you could port a ROM from another device and make it work!??!! GOOD LUCK THO!!
Hi everyone out there!
I NEED A HUGE FAVOR!
i am new to this.... is my first time and i am stuck!
i just flashed my motorola defy into a gingerbread 2.3.6 and i can't root it, googled it and no one seemed to have 2.3.6 yet?
anyone can help me? pleeeeesssss......
i've tried many ways...for 2 days!
I wanted to let you know that I have the Motorola Milestone x2 and we are in the same situation. I have concluded that zergrush does not work for 2.3.6 motorola handsets.
Below is the thread for the Milestone x2 2.3.6 as we try to figure it out lol.
