DINIK STyle Action Screen
I edited your cab to my needs and combined with dinik's icons, Marcdu81 HD2 connections cab, a little tool from lyriquidperfection's Touch Tools for HTC cab and renaming of actionscreen.exe to endkey.exe, i came up with a nice endkey replacement cab.
I'd like to ask you if you know a way when changing the orientation to landscape to also change the action screen in landscape.
here is a screenshot of the result
thanks a lot
BT73, this is great, thanks a lot. I want to try to make my own action screen.
But I have trouble downloading from rapidshare. Could you please post mirror links for these two files?
I didn't know something like this exists! I guess I know what I will be doing later! Thank you for sharing.

GTX Metro Style
This is my version based on GTX Sense and the Dark Square Metro Icons Set.
I got everything working but I was wondering if someone could help me make a cab that does all the steps, in case I flash a new rom. Also would be easier to share that way.

Here are the 2 BT73's files they are both inside the attached zip
Here are the details:
1. I deleted everything i didn't need from the original cab like *.brn files which are the icons that show up when you press a button, and all executables except from HTCActionscreen.exe and PowerOff_Warning.exe which i renamed them to EndKey.exe and Shutdown.exe.(leaving the dll's)
2. I edited AS_Bkgd_1.png from BT73's brnconvert.rar to the picture i uploaded in my previous post using Dinik's icons and then converted it to bmp and then to brn.
3. I extracted Marcdu81 HD2 connections cab that has some very useful executables and injected them in my cab in folder Actionscreen under windows.
4. I also extracted a little tool called Snatch Screen.exe from lyriquidperfection's Touch Tools for HTC cab which i also injected in folder Actionscreen under windows.
5. I edited the registry to change the shortcuts of each button to match the executables shown in the picture as buttons.
6. Saved the new cab and installed it.
In short this was the procedure if i forgot something or you have any question feel free to ask

Ok, to call it a skin is said to much. But because it's part of a skin I like to advertise it this way, because maybe others, the real graphical experts on this forum, will be triggered to make a real opera skin.
To the point, I made the launch button of Opera 9.7 (all builds) transparant, in order to improve the visability of the pages loaded in Opera:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I'm not a graphical genius, but I think the button will do. I invite other, more proficient graphical designers to make a better one and to modify more element of Opera.
(The skin file is located in "\Windows\Opera9\profile\skin" and it is called standard_skin.zip. I have attached the png file I've modified from this skin file to this post)
Happy browsing
(btw, this button goes really nice with the virtual screen size of Opera set to 1024.)
Update
A transparant zoom button is added to the installation cab.
Thanks for this.
Its also nice, if you can make from the Zoombar-Icon the same.
The best way is, this two icons in one .cab ;-)

Hang on. I agree with you. But how can I install the two png's apart of the zip file in the skin directory of Opera? Do you have any idea? Ok, I assume that when i put these icons in a subdirectory WMPlatform Opera will read them as well. But will it not be overwritten by the same files in the zip file? (You know I am a pragmatist and I don't wanna invest to much time in these sort of things.)
I'm thinking of making the zoombar-icon transparant as well for the near future.
Ok, I found and change the skin.zip ;-)
Ddriver said:
Is this Zoom-Icon not also in the skin.zip in?

Ok, now i know what you are talking about. I thought you had an idea to install just these two modified icons. Now, the complete skin zip-file is installed with all untouched png's as well. Because the skin-zip is in rom this will cost some memory (although on the HD2 this is really neglectable).
Anyway, if chefs want to cook these modified png's (one png for this moment) in rom, go ahead...
Maybe I skin the other elements as well. Maybe I make the button bar and adres bar transparent? Maybe someone else can do that

Why?
I got tired of seeing my HD wallpapers blurred by manila, so I hit maranell0's HDWall.
There are various other threads containing HDWall cabs with some trully unique and wonderful contributions.
The thing that motivated me most to make my own cabs was that I found each poster has their own preferences; transparent taskbars, transparent softkeys, tweaked sliders etc.
For me, I wanted simply the HD wallpaper. I have customised softkeys and taskbars and I didn't want to mess with them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Testing
The attached HDWall cabs have been tested on a HD2 (T8585) with:
- Stock WWE ROM 1.66
- Manila v2.5.1921
- Co0kies HT 1.7.1
- [Manila Patch] High Quality Wallpaper for Home Tab & Manila Start Menu by Co0kieMonster
- BG4all
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
There are two options for installing these cabs:
Option A - direct
Simply choose the cab you prefer and save it to your device.
Using your prefered file explorer, browse to the cab and click.
Option B - via HDWalls
Transfer the cab AND the associated '*-P.jpg' file to your nominated directory on your device where you store HDWall cabs.
Open HDWallS
Browse to the thumbnails until you find the new image.
Click and install.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Notes
Uninstall before installing
Before installing one of my cabs, be sure to uninstall any previous HDWall cab you may have installed.
BG4all
Co0kie recommends that you avoid using BG4all and HDWall together.
I have BG4all running smoothly with these cabs and have experienced no problems. The HD image is displayed on all tabs.
Please be conscious of this if you experience problems.
Images for lockscreen
Attached is a zip file of all original images should you wish to manually change your lockscreen pic to match your wallpaper.
Uninstalling
These cabs are all uninstallable.

Requests welcome!
If you would like a wallpaper made for you, please do not hesitate to ask. Simply post your preferred image and I will endeavour to create your ideal background.

Images are generally found online. I take no credit for the original images. Thank you to the talented people behind the camera.

Endkey replacement replaces the Endkey long press function with a more options one, having the same looks.
The cab below works out of the box possibly on any WVGA, HVGA device and doesn't need anything else to be installed (just install and soft reset)
Changelog v4.5 23/07/2010
-Added support for themes. (Details below)
-Themes are in zip format and only the files needed are extracted (less space).
-When changing theme all previously used brn files are deleted.
-Pressing on the top left corner will bring up the changing theme process.
-Pressing on the top right corner will bring up the configuration options.
-All text written on the dialogs are contained in a single file (easier to translate).
-Added setup.dll which will run the process to apply your theme when installing and will delete all brn files from your windows folder when uninstalling.
-Customization dialogs are replaced with choices menus.
-2 functions to select for 3 buttons. (1st, 2nd and 4th buttons)
-2 themes in the cab (default and GTX)
-There's a shortcut now placed in start menu thanks to alesscam.
Changelog v4 17/07/2010
- Added a user customization wizard. (accessible anytime by pressing on the right top corner).
- Added confirmation window for bootloader.

THEMES
There are 2 themes in the cab one is the default and the other one is GTX.
You can keep as many themes as you like and change them whenever you want.
I you want you can grab the "theme.rar" file from the attachments and start building your own theme/translation. In the rar you'll find all the photoshop png's needed to be edited/translated.
Skinning Process
1. Edit all the png's (8 backgrounds and 10 buttons) in the rar or create new ones with your favorite editor (I prefer Adobe Fireworks)
2. If you create new ones don't forget to give the files the same names as the originals.
3. Convert them to bmp's.
4. Convert the bmp's to brn with brnconverter. (attached below)
5. Add all the brn files you created in a zip file.
6. Copy the zip file to your phone. (You can copy the zip file anywhere in your device as when you change a theme you'll be asked to find it but the default folder is "\Program Files\EndKeySkins\")
Translation Process
1. Make a skin using the above process translating everything you see as text on the png's (very easy if you are using photoshop or fireworks).
2. Translate the "strings.ini" file attached below and place it in windows folder.(You should translate everything that's after "=")

I have been trying to find a nice black dialer skin to complement the rest of the phone window in the latest Elegancia ROMs but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for anywhere so I decided to create my own, and here it is! I have based them on the original HTC dialer but swapped the skins around so the keys are black when unpressed, turning white when pressed. I have also centred the key symbols to make them more uniform, and coloured the voicemail symbol in HTC green. The background between the keys has then been recoloured to match the background in the rest of the window (call history) and here is the result.
I have also enabled my dialer to autorotate using the following registry edit so I have also skinned the landscape dialer files as well:
1. Navigate to HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
2. Add a new string with the name 'Dialog' (without the '')
3. Give the string a value 'Dialog' (again without the '')
4. Save and soft reset
This will allow the dialer and active call windows to autorotate from Portrait to Landscape and back again whilst active. It's not perfect because if you switch from the dialer screen to active call screen (making/receiving a call) or back again (ending a call) when it changes window it reverts to portrait and won't rotate until you move the phone LS>P>LS. I've been trying to find a way to get the two windows to call for orientation info from the sensor before opening but noone has given me a solution yet - any help would be greatly appreciated
The cab file below (Thanks to Steve0007 ) contains both portrait and landscape skins and is uninstallable through Settings>Application>Remove Programs
The zip file contains the four bmp files if any of you want to have a go at editing them any further to your own taste. Just unzip, edit away then copy the files to your Windows directory and overwrite the existing files (I suggest you make a backup of the original four files first!)
Any questions just ask. I hope you like them

Hey Matt, this skin is just for the phone keypad not the rest of the dialer which as it says in the first post is a workaround of the original HTC dialer keypads (which I found here) The rest of the screenshots are what was already there in Steve's Elegancia ROMs

Mike, just check in \Windows that you have Assets_dialer_Normal/Pressed and Dialer_Normal/pressed_L. If these four pngs are there then it should be fine. They are the only thing that this skin changes (the actual dialer keypads) - the rest of the dialer mods in the screenshots are Steve's from Elegancia.
from where you get your taskbar icons, please post it

Ok Dunc,
i have these files and i will test it right now. And thank you for the info. I was to lazy to look for myself .
Black buttons on BLACK background
I love the look of your dialer, almost perfect.
I would just ask for a version of your dialer where the black buttons are on a black background.
I really like it.
Thanks anyway

Here ya go buddy. I edited the images within dunc's dialpad cab to give you your desired black background. I compressed the cab to save memory so if for some reason it doesn't work I'll recab it for you without any compression. Let me know how it works out..

Thank you Inando,
But check attached,
I never been able to have the Background of the "Talk" button in Black,
Neither with your cab nor the original one at first post !!!
I first thought this was in the post cab, but when i re-checked the image on the first post, it was in black background !!!
I am really confused !!!

Oh i see what you mean. That didn't change because dunc's cab only skins the dialpad itself and i thought thats what you wanted black. The images to the area your referring to are located within the dialer .dll. I'll try changing it up for ya but I'll need you to go into your windows folder, copy and attach the following file for me "phcanImages.dll"

For installation of .cab files:
1) Copy the .cab file to your storage card
2) Run the .cab file
3) Restart Sense or do a Softreset
--The Skins are fully uninstallable--

If these (...) Skins already exist, I am sorry I didnt mean to steal your idea, but I can assure you, that these Skins come out of my mind, because I wanted my (...) Lockscreen to look like that. Plz PM me on that concern.

Hii.
I install the Target Slider and works fine.
But if I desinstall, the "original" lock screeen has disappeared, he has no image at all.
I can unlock because I know where I put my finger, but I don't have any "image" of the "original lock screen".
I install the Target Slider until I have the "original"...
Anyone have the original files (png or manila)?
Thanks...
NB =)
oh i am so sorry
i tried my sliders on my hd2 and everything worked ...
did you make a softreset ?

Yes thats a problem, but that happens often, if you install softkeys etc and uninstall them, the space for the parts are blank
I do have a hd mini slider file. it is not the original file, but then you have the manila file and maybe you can edit it, or use the slider
just copy the manila file into your windows directory^^
Well, I dont know, but if your icons have disappered to, you might wanna install copy the file in the second rar file to your windows directory.
I know, that this is not exactly what you were looking for, but it might help you, for the time being
Hii.
Thanks for the files.
I try to edit then and this is my "work"
NB =)

This is a problem with your sliders form You could make the icons blank and then just leave it at that, but you will not see anything, if there was a missed call etc. So you should edit the slider you did to make that fit, or just make the phone icon smaller by editing the files^^
