i snagged this link from the samsung galaxy section and was wondering if anyone would be able to port over the touchwiz and samsung specific apks?

i feel u on that i installed there launcher on my evo and it was rough i didnt like it at all

I'm not sure this install includes the apps, like Allshare. After reading and then searching,i didn't see any references to it. It looks like its just the shell. Can anyone confirm? I would hate to add any more bloatware if I don't have to. I only want Allshare.

Correct its basically just the launcher shell

Its the fully working launcher, if your saying it does not have widgets your correct but no launcher comes with widgets. I know the guy its working on getting the widgets working as well.
I like rosie and the widgets the best my self, but the launcher works well but way to much like a iphone for me.

I can't install any of these without getting an application not installed warning.
Is there a work around?

confirmed... the launcher works fine on the evo. kinda plain with just the message and app icon on the bottom but the app drawer is nice. time to jazzy up the home screens a bit

Any way to add more than just the message and app icon?

yea i really need a link to phone if im going to use it at all. exited for the widgets though.
note for anyone switching between this and other launchers, make sure you close this one when switching back if you dont reboot your phone, it will drain resources and battery.

Yeah its easy to add more icons to the bottom as seen in these pics, just while app draw is open hit menu/edit and drag the icons down and also you can re-order the apps as well.

Anyway to get the Calendar, Contacts, & Dialer working on the Evo I ordered 2 of the Epics for coworkers and set those up really liked the those apps, would love to see them on the Evo.

Wonder what damage it will do to the battery though!

So they caused the delay for 2.1 release. Probably they put hours in making this one and thought that it will all be wasted/
Now we all testing the battery.

There's a download link on the same page, just scroll down a bit and look closely

Besides the animated wallpaper I don't see any other reason to choose this over ADW. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the wallpaper without having to run this launcher? In other words, can I use the live wallpaper with ADW?

I thought live wallpaper is only supported by 2.1 and not by 1.6 ?
Anyway the "one and only" big reason why I´m waiting for 2.1 is the change of stupid lock screen on 1.6. Doesn´t work sufficient enough for me. I tried some lock-apps too, but no app was "much better" than the original one. On every call I have to hope I can unlock the screen. But this one in this pack works perfekt. Thanks for sharing.

Only good point is live screen..ADW is far better..

Yup, I got that too.

When I'm receiving a call it reverts back to the old lock screen, and when I'm done with the call I'll have to first unlock the default screen, and after that the AmbientTime one. Is there any way to force the AmbientTime lock screen to be used when receiving calls? If not, I guess I'll have to stick with ADW.

In the first post the wallpaper is very colorful but mine is simple! why?

If you have adb working try taking a screen capture from the ddms.bat file in the SDK tools folder!

you can install droid explorer and take screenshots from your pc. plus do alot of other things.
it will even install the sdk for you.

you might want to add this in...
Droid Explorer is the #1 open source Android device manager. Currently only for rooted devices.

Mine is rooted and I use an app called Drocap2

It's a combination of two really awesome apps I discovered. One is called Desktop Visualiser, and the other is called SiMi Folders. Both are really impressive. Having all of the tiles (which are actually widgets) does use a lot of ram, but this phone easily handles it.

It comes with custom skins but you can also find and install customs.

I've been trying the betas for quite a while and agree its the best one around. As long as you turn off predictive text, it doesnt lag at all. It's only getting better with updates. Will purchase it too if it ever comes out.

I purchased v3 not so long ago (but before the beta came out).. am I gonna get stiffed and have to buy v4 all over again when that eventually launches? I know its only a few quid but it'll be a pain if I do..

The cursor keys work on ssh terminal programs like connectbot, but the tab key does not.

it's a beta, let them know and hopefully it's something that can be fixed before the final release.

I had to reboot to get it to show up on mine.

I cannot figure out how to change the buttons....I picked large buttons and now I want to change it to small ones and see the difference...it said that you can change but did not say where to do that. I looked in settings and could not see where to change it.

Thanks for pointing this out. Absolutely brilliant - have to say one of the best features is the option to instantly switch between split layout, full screen and half screen keyboard. Plus, none of the lag or missed keypresses, even with prediction on...

Launcher Pro on Droid Charge

I have a Thunderbolt and I am considering switching to a Charge however I hate Touchwiz with a damn passion. I mean, it's the most god aweful thing I've ever seen. To that end I went to the Verizon store to play with a Charge and I installed Launcher Pro to test it out. I uninstalled it before I left but I thought someone on the fence may care to see it.

Yeah Launcher Pro works really well. I go for a very simple, clean setup with only 1 homescreen, and put my most used apps on the 3 docks, and each dock icon also has a swipe shortcut, so that's 30 quick access apps without the visual clutter.

You're welcome. I am probably about to go pay full price for it actually.
VZW wouldn't do anything for me since I've had the TBolt since launch day. First month I had it I was working till 9 nightly... like I would notice battery life or have time to fix it. Whatever.

Actually, it's pretty healthy

I use adw ex launcher...i prefer over this one

I found ADW to be easier top work with, and the themes better.
Launcher Pro was smoother and snappier though.
