Yeah.. I'm not paying extra on top of my subscription. I used to have free online XM radio. Now they have a special music right's group tax, online listening fee, and I'm hearing more and more commercials. Sorry XM.. no.
to clarify, if you already have the $2.99 internet premium access, you can use this app without being charged or having to sign up
free 7 day trial when you first use the app
and sirius is offering a free preview for 30 days on 50 of its channels for listening in the car

No, the internet premium allows you to stream from where ever when ever you want.
I use SiriusXMStreamer on my PC to my 360 via TVersity thanks to the internet plan, CD quality audio
I had the iPhone app for my ipod touch before it died, now i have the Incredible and have the Sirius app on it.
no extra fees and i only pay $23 a quarter
I get a-la-carte thanks to the Starmate 5 receiver - $6.99 a month
then $2.99 for premium internet.
I pretty much save by going the quarterly plan

keep in mind if you use the official app on two different android devices, you can't be logged in at the same time.
this only works if you log in to an unofficial program like SiriusXMstreamer on PC and on an official app. The official app has log in measures in place that keep track of when your signed in.
so just a heads up on that

are you using the trial account? or the account you paid for?
Try loggin in at Sirius.com since XM is the provider of the online component now you should be able to log in
try to see if you can access your account atleast online, if you can't sounds like a log in issue

no not the trial. already called xm and added to my account but they never said how to log in or where. tried the Sirius.com but the online player doesn't recognize my account log in. of subject remark its been a year why are the platforms divided cant they merge and get there act together. ok sorry for rant guess ill sirius in morning.

if you haven't already, when you talked to Sirius XM, did they give you a log in? when you sign up your supplied with a login,
but you can create one if you already don't have one too

once thats done, you can register for your online login info

Already have a online account... but i dont have a online at sirius.com when i tried to register over there it didnt recognize my radio id.
Crazy cool just xm they forgot to update account so all is good thanks for all the help.

Sure thing, sorry i didn't post this late, i was in the middle of a PC format and i'm getting everything re-installed.
glad you got it working, thats great to hear, sometimes account updates or additional features depending on how the system gets refreshed takes a few hours to a few days to get it working.
now on a side note, when i first used the Sirius XM app on the incredible, i noticed a weird bug. If you listen for about an hour or so the feed seems to either cut off or restart with a low quality sound then the CD quality would kick in a few seconds after. after which within a few mins it would play "catch up" to the live feed again. Has anyone noticed this on theres?
i don't know if its the incredible switching from a cache to a live feed when switching connections or not, one other thing i've noticed is, when the lock screen is on, wifi is not being used, 3G is used as default when you unlock the screen, it uses wifi again but then sirius app says "lost connection, retry" then it re-connects.
hopefully this bug will get fixed unless its just me

I've been using Mobile Defense since it first went public last year. I haven't had to use it yet except to beep my phone to find it if I misplace it in my house.
I wanted to try Wave Secure but I thought I read something about costing minutes or something so I just left it alone.
Can you install it as a system app like Mobile Defense so it runs hidden and can't be uninstalled? Can you enable the GPS remotely from a web page?

Nah wave secure doesn't cost anything I don't think, had it for a while now, never had to use it yet though.
The first time you install it and open it, it prompts you to go into the marketplace and download a specific app which makes wave secure immune to being uninstalled.
Can't enable gps either, if your gps is not on when you lose the phone tuff luck. When I tried it without gps being on it tracked me to the nearest cell tower (which is about 5kms away from where I am) good luck finding your phone then.
Does mobile defense offer the option to remotely turn on gps? I have yet to give it a try
May be good to note that wavesecure is international whereas mobile defense is only available in america for now

Texts from WaveSecure webpage to your phone are sent from Singapore. (Check out the WaveSecure webpage screenshot in the middle in red text.)
A few days after I first was playing around with it, my T-Mobile account did indeed note texts from Singapore. Luckily, they didn't charge me extra, but other carriers may be different.

WaveSecure though the website can tell you where the phone is.
WaveSecure doesnt send text's etc without you knowing, i.e. when you want to locate phone, wipe it, lock it. These are done by Text so I dont think it would matter if you get charged as it's only if you lose it...

Exactly, why choose? They provide the best and some services are unique to each program. It would be in everyone best interest to get both.

Sonuva... I didn't see the whole singapore deal... since you mentioned it I decided to check and Tmobile definitely charged me for it. It's kind of bogus, too, because the number doesn't use country codes.

I think I might jump over to mobile defense... I'm not sure what I was messing with, but wavesecure managed to send out 25 SMS messages from my phone. I can only think of one incident where it should have done it... I got a new SIM card and it sms'd my buddy list that they should notify me that my sim card was changed. Other than that, I haven't tooled around with it.

WTF? Who pays to receive texts? What does it matter where they come from? Mars as far as I care.
Can WaveSecure/Mobile Defense activate GPS if it is turned off if they are installed as system apps? I thought I read it could somewhere but I don't remember.

Mobile Defense when you track your phone it gives you the exact street and house number of where the phone is.......Wave Secure dont!!!... Wave Secure has other tools to maximize security but at the end you just want to know where the hell is the phone to go and get it....

I'm wondering why people like WaveSecure so much? I think Mobile Defense looks better, cleaner, and helps you find your phone easier, and doesn't have the Singapore texts. Maybe I should have named the thread differently asking why people like WaveSecure so much

I have an Android phone, Samsung Galaxy S and searching for an Sirius XM app for my phone like SiriusWM 6 or SXRadio2. I can't download the official android app from Sirius, can't find it in the android market and the download link Sirius emailed me give a 'not found' error. I hope someone can help me out maby with the .apk file? Thanks.

Even if you get the APK you need your account num to get it working...
Yes I have an account but on there site you can try it with a 7 day trail period but nothing works in there download link they emailed me.
B.t.w. I'm outside the US so I don't know that's the problem? Maybe someone have an .apk file for me or have a location to download it?

I have it and use it all the time. Just send the app link to your phone from their website or call them and they will send you a link. Since it is a paid service nobody can/should post the apk, it would be warez. But if you have service, it's easy to get it. You need to make sure your settings have the "allow non-market apps" thing clicked. Once you get it you sign in and it works just like the radio but you can pause/play the current song up to 30min. There is a 3 dollar per month charge, well worth it IMO. Happy trails and good luck.

Where can I find the "allow non-market apps" option?
Maybe it's because I'm outside the UK the US Android market is not working but I need this app here. I send an email to the Sirius support department. I hope someone have a direct .apk download link for me.
Or there is an unofficial SiriusXM Android app available? Can't find it.
Ok, solved. I found something.
The app is 100% free and you do not need to be a current subscriber to get it and I do have it as I am subbed to XM and yes, there is a free 7 day trial and you can sign up right from the app then after the 7 days is up you must subscribe to there service to continue to use it. I will post the app if you still need it when I get home later tonight.

The app is free but the service is not.You are required to get a $2.99 a month subscription (online) even if you have a normal radio (car/home) subscription. This service use to be free if you had a normal radio subscription.

I also have a lifetime US sub, but I can't download the app to my cdn phone.
Can you tell me where you were able to get the 1.1.0 version of the ap? I tried the one in the mediafire link but it is ver 1.0.0.

When I answer a call the app keeps playing so it is hard to hear the caller. The caller does not hear the XM. Is it my ROM or is there a bug in the app? Thanks.

I have not noticed that on mine at all. I would think it would stop as it needs internet to work and as far as I know you cant be on the internet and a phone call at the same time. I cant on my Hero anyways.
Is anyone here part of the beta? I got my invite the day after I got my Xoom. It works fine on my Xoom but I can't sign in using the (Google) Music app on my phone to retrieve my library from the cloud. I'm wondering if at this time it's only available on select devices?

LOL...I'll be lucky as soon as I can get it working. As of right now it will only upload half of my library, saying the rest are unsupported file types (they are all the same file type), and I can't access my cloud library from my phone...thus defeating the purpose all together.
I haven't had any issues with my Inspire or my Nexus One. It's working fine on CM7 and Android Revolution 5.1.7 on my Inspire. Can't say much about MIUI though, I haven't used it in a while since I could never get Swype to work properly on it.

I know this pisses me off. I signed up like VERY shortly after they put it up and told my friend hours later and he already got his invite while I'm still waiting! Damn Google!!!

I got it working last night. I can't say for sure what the problem was. I tried wiping the application's cache a few times with no result. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times until I finally got the "settings" option to show up in the menu in the app. Anyway, Google music is sweet! Strangely the music streamed off the cloud using my phone sounds way better than the music I had stored locally on my zune. Same files and everything.

Supposedly you can cache the tracks you want to listen to offline. I haven't figured out how to do that yet, though. I don't see the option anywhere so far.

Longpress a track/artist/album/whatever that you have in the cloud and there's an option in the popup menu to "make available offline". There's also the option to cache streamed music, which is temporary and would make buffering the track much quicker, obviously.

I'm in BFE Il (non-Chicago), so even though I signed up within hours of the announcement, I don't expect one anytime soon.... Just as with the Chrome CR-48 announcement. In addition, I ported my home phone to a cell, just to port to GV? Not supported in my area... No love for Central IL.
Oh well, I'm still supporting and waiting.
I requested an invite the day it opened up. It shows up in my Google Accounts management page as one of my products and has been there for a week. But, it won't load a page. Haven't received an invitation. Figured I'm being screwed with.
I ditched MS 6.5 for Android and have a loathing for Apple. Hell, switched the whole family to Android and am buying a tablet this weekend. Come on Google, throw me a bone!

I can understand Samsung's motivation to block this. Even though it seems like a somewhat trivial app to this audience, in the marketplace it would be positioned as a differentiator, and you can be confident that at least part of the idea is to blunt the impact of Siri on Samsung sales (and there's no need to debate differences between Siri, S Voice, the eventual advent of Majel, etc - just commenting on today's motivation for Samsung to keep this restricted to S3).
Another possibility: Vlingo has been evolving their product, and if you go to the Play Store you'll find the Vlingo labs version - which is essentially the same as S Voice with a smaller "vocabulary" of functions you can invoke. It really appears that they're gearing up this new version of Vlingo for ALL phones, but my guess is that they have an agreement in place with Samsung to hold off for a while so the S3 can enjoy having this functionality exclusively at first. Also possible that Samsung and Vlingo have a licensing agreement that restricts the phones that the app runs on for some period of time.
I can easily imagine business execs at Samsung and at Vlingo getting more than a bit stressed over this...

Seems to be a few threads going on about this. I'm getting an error when I say post to facebook. It loads a browser window but then goes right back saying check user name password. Everything is logged in on my phone correctly though. Any ideas?

Same problem here, I can't update the facebook status, it opens the window and says the username/password is incorrect..

YEP! Sadly, I'm glad I'm not the only one lol so it must be a problem with the app. The following thread mentions maybe it is because of touchwiz apps or something that other phones do not have on them, idk I'm at work so I'm half paying attention to the threads, I just want it to work!

It was working wonderful first hour, then it started giving me server error. Before i used to get network error now im getting server. So do u think they blocked the wholr server??

Doubtful try rebooting, clear data or uninstall reinstall, mine still works. Honestly Vlingo works for all the problems people are posting, I just hate the skin on Vlingo lol. Dear Devs where are you in our time of need!

No problem with the app. I'm running the modded version (posted on one of these S Voice threads) that doesn't require modding build.prop -- works perfectly. I send text messages, emails, check the weather and just posted to FB. Re: FB - I do NOT have the app installed right now (older version ate battery - no idea about 1.9 yet - may try later). Anyway -- I tried it this way: I told S Voice: "update Facebook". It then show the FB login dialog and noted that I had to be logged in so that it could update FB. I filled in username / pswd, and it's been working fine ever since then. Just needed login credentials.
Try just saying "update Facebook" the first time, it should prompt for credentials, and then remember them for future use.
EDIT: also just logged into Twitter the same way -- said, "Tweet" and it prompted me for twitter credentials. Now that it's got them, I'm good to go. Almost too easy!

Thanx Man. Now it is working it was on flight mode. So when ur mobile is in flight mode it will not open even if ur wifi is on

I recently was thinking about something, I decided to test it out.
On the Play Store app, you can choose to add a pin number, and make this pin be required to make purchases.
This is a good idea, as we don't want anyone charging our credit cards or carrier bills if our device gets lost/stolen.
However, there is a flaw in this. The aforementioned pin number is stored locally on the device, whilst the credit card info is connected to your google account, and obviously your carrier billing options are stored online.
All someone has to do to be able to make purchases on a supposed secure play store is go to Settings>Applications>All>Google Play Store and click clear data. No more pin.

Good find man! Definitely opens up my eyes, as my little brother has a phone with my google account on it, because of all the apps I've bought-en, and I enabled the pin feature on it.

I notice this a lot when I update my ROM. Because it doesn't come packaged with gapps (well it wouldn't, it's illegal to do that), the data gets cleared when you reinstall the play store, thus no more pin. As I update daily, I never have the pin for more than one day, which is a major security flaw IMO

Thanks guys, added that in a comment on the google code page.
Actually, I believe that function is more of a "Child Lock". The screen lock/wipe is supposedly what prevents stolen phones from being used. In most cases, someone that usually knows your password (Of course, adb enabled phones can have their screen lock disabled). That's usually your kids that use your phone for games, watching videos, etc. That's what the pin is for - blocking them from downloading paid stuff without your knowledge. I suppose Google doesn't think that they would be the ones who will be hacking your phone, and of course, not be the ones who steal your phone.
