i have a problem with the HTC Sense SMS tab (when jou tab on a sms and the the history) the screen doesn't switch to landscape.
some ideas what i can do?

edit: i have the latest t-mobile rom 1.72.
have you got BSB tweaks insatalled? if so, make sure rotation isnt turned off
i have BSB installed, but i habe no option for ratation
Hold on a second! You just pointed out an issue that I didnt even notice until now! The buggers have actually removed the auto-rotate from the SMS client. I found it annoying anyway, but they have removed something that other users may have liked, and within stated that fact!
but i haven't update my HD2! everything works fine yesterday, but today...
Really? That is interesting, because mine isnt rotating now. I have the o2 version of the 1.72 ROM, and I cannot remember the auto-rotate feature working since the 1.66 Stock ROM I had.
So maybe mine has the same issue as yours and I didnt realise it.

but what can i do? can i install sense new? i won't hardresett my HD2!

I installed HTC Home plugin v2.0.814.722 this morning on my Orbit 2 and much to my dismay it works just fine except for the backlight adjust tab.
Has anyone else got the same problem or does anyone know the tweak to solve this problem?

I have the same problem on Cruise... After instalation new HTC Home Plugin backlight setting from icon doesnt work My ROM is WM 6.1 from bepe... I think with original ROM it works, there is problem with WM 6.1...

NEW HTC Home? Bepes .58 ROM uses 2.0.1812.2525 which by my understanding is considerably newer than 2.0.814.722. Right?

I have a very strange problem... I have a german MDA Vario IV (Raphael) and I recently flashed ROMEOS 1.12, then HTC StockROM and after a couple of days it first happened, that my camera viewfinder is completely black. The camera, however, works, i.e. it takes pictures which I can view in the album.
When I tap the screen in camera mode, I see the 3 symbols, but when I tap the preferences-wheel, nothing happens.
When Romeos 1.40 (German) came out, I flashed it - and I still have the problem. I don't quite understand it, as it worked first with the HTC Rom and after about 14days it stopped working.
Do you have any help?
I just had the same problem. Fixed by doing a hard reset...
did you flash a new radio?
I just registered to report this same issue.
I just picked up my fuze today, and was going through the steps in the noob guide before I decided to stop and just let the phone install the regular software so I could at least activate it before a new bill kicked in before the account got cancelled.
Right before I stopped going through the noob guide, I got as far as doing a soft reset right before the installing ATT bloatware and was removing some options in the guide and restarting. Then, since I just wanted to activate the phone (I had no SD card to safely try out all the steps in the noob guide, and wanted to wait for it), I did a hard reset.
After I activated my phone, I've been trying out my camera and it just shows a black screen. If I touch the screen the three buttons show up and clicking on the buttons don't do anything. Though, if I hold the enter key it clicks and takes a picture which shows up in my album.
I'm going to wait till my SD card comes in before I do another hard reset to do the install again. Hopefully the hard reset fixes the issue.
Still no one else with this issue? I have flashed NATF 4.5 as well as energy 2.0 . I have changed to two different radios and this problem has persisted. Everything works fine at first, but then within a couple of days it goes black. Everything is exactly as others have reported. Pictures take, the touch screen menus work ( selecting any setting ).... its just the viewfinder that is acting goofy. Soft resetting it will occasionally make it work again. It makes me feel as though some of us have some software somewhere that isnt acting as it should. I googled the issue to no avail.
Any gurus able to shed some light on this matter?

I am running Shep's 3.0 rom with the new 1.12.25.19 radio and I have just recently had this viewfinder problem arise as well. I am about to flash Shep's new 3F and will check the camera after hard reset.
Is anyone running additional programs when this arises? I had thought there was a conflict with freecaddie as I was on the golf course when I noticed the problem but maybe this is more widespread?

It must be as I dont play freecaddy. I can post all of the addons I have used...maybe theres something in common?

Of the programs you listed, Skyfire is the only one I am also running. I just completed my flash and turned the camera on prior to installing any apps, cabs, etc... and the viewfinder worked fine.
I am in the process of adding my customizations back on, doing a PIM restore, and installing cabs and will edit my post later to report whether it continues to function correctly.
After setting things up the way I like them and a full day of use, the viewfinder still works fine. I am baffled as to the cause but as long as its works I won't complain.
To those still having the problem, I would recommend a hard reset at a minimum or perhaps try a new rom.

This was an issue with RRE's roms a while back. Not sure what he did to fix it but I know he tweaked a flashed new versions about 100 times in one day! I would post the question in your respective rom's threads and see if the cooks have a better idea. I would bet that there is a file or setting common to all of the roms listed here that is causing the problem.

The Black screen happens to me, if too much sunlight gets thru on superfine settings. (i hold it facing directly into the sun) It seems to blow out the picture (goes all white) -then theres no display at all (black) unless i exit camera and restart.

there is a fix for this on the htc asia site, if you go to the support tab and look at the downloads for touchpro, I am not sure its for all phone as it asked for my serial number and told me it was not for my phone, on this site at least it seemed to be for hong kong, singapore & china, Perhaps check the htc site for your location.

I've had my HD2 for 3 weeks now - it's got HSPL installed and I've upgraded from the stock 1.48.x rom to 1.66.421.1 (official rom).
Whenever I'm typing out an sms, either in landscape or portrait, for some reason after +-5 seconds, the text area that I'm typing in loses focus and the last sms above the input area is highlighted.
Is there any way to fix this? It's getting rather annoying albeit small. I don't recall having this issue on 1.48.x, could be mistaken though.
Its an issue I had with my old HTC Touch Cruise. It was related to an issue with the sms dll on the cooked ROM I was using. I'm suprised that HTC would put out an official ROM with this issue. Maybe its something you installed, have you tried a hard reset to see if its an issue with the ROM?
I've a problem, during the call the proximity sensor don't work... How to fix it?
i have somthing similar... the sensor works most of the time... but too many times it doesn't work correctly... like in this...
i dial a number and press talk... sensor covered... the screen goes off.... when it actualy starts to ring in the earpiece the screen goes on.... i take it off my ear and put it back and the screen turns off again.... when the call is answered on the other side the screen goes on again...
is there a fix to this?.... it happend on different roms and it doesn't happens all the time... and usually i have at least one number that always has this behaviour and at least one that works correct all the time....
Happens to me too. By far the most important problem of the HD2.

What ROM are u running? It may have something to do with it.
I use Clean EX UDT (2.16 version) i will try to upgrade it after download is finishing!
But this problem comes last month on Official ROM 1.66
i've had it on several roms...

I also have this problem since I've made an update to O2 ROM 1.72.207.0 (o2 Germany branded ROM).
With the previous 1.48 ROM (also o2 branded), I've had no problems with the proximity sensor.
Is there any fix for it, or has HTC built a new bug into the new firmware?
No beacause i actualy use a 1.72 ROM (lastest from HTC .:.) and i've this bug

I think the answer is : No because it's maybe Phone.exe who have this bug!
Do you have installed the lastest camera app? This is the problem, when I install, the sensor in call don´t work.

I haven't install the camera update too and have this problem.
I have installed the same apps than before the update from 1.48 to 1.72, so apps shouldn't be the issue.
I have realized that the call menu goes to landscape mode, when this problem occurs.
i too encounter this problem. im using the stock rom 1.66. hmmmm...
Do any of you lot use BsB tweaks? Im asking because i realised that when i use BsB tweaks, i get the bug and also sometimes advanced config aswell.
Try it without BsB but the only thing is you may need hard reset first to ensure all BsB tweaks are gone.
May not be the solution,just a suggestion.
Also, you should try Dutty's Roms as i have never had any problems with his roms.....but mind u, i havn't installed BsB in his rom yet to see if i get the bug as most of the tweaks can be done individually.

no BsB... just cleanEX hyperrom 6.5.x... when i'll flash next i'll try to keep for at least a day only the rom and no program installed... i don't know if i'll can....
Yes, I have also installed BsB Tweaks. Will try to uninstall it and that look if the problem is still there. I don't want to make a hardreset, because my phone is finally configured after 3 days after firmware update.
In ROM 1.48 I also had installed BsB Tweaks, so it's very strange.

today i installed Flinnys CM10 build 129 für HTC Desire-Z / Vision and im verry happy with it.
Its runs very smooth and is super resposible, even in multitasking stuff.
But i have one big problem where i cant find any sollution and hope that some of you guys could help me out.
in Camera-App Autorotation of the Display dont works, it still hangs in portrait mode, no matter if i tilt the phone or not...same in Gallery.
and in Messagers like Whatsapp the Display rotates to landscape mode if i flip out the harware Keyboard but dont rotate back to portrait mode if i close the Keyboard.
the only way to get it back to portrait mode is closing whatsapp.
I tried switching auto-rotate on and off, do full wipe, clean caches and installed rom and gapps again, tried different camera and gallery apps but nothing helps.
please coult any of you guys help me with this problem ?

Edit: I downloaded a sensor testing tool and it shows no reaction from the rotation sensors.
also no reaktion in games like coine dozer, where the prices in the price-view had alwas rotate.
My hardware should be ok, cause a few minutes ago on my old rom (CM9) it all worked perfectly.
