I'm trying to use metamorph and titanium backup but these apparently require busybox. I have been looking around everywhere on how to install it and what it is bit have had no luck.
Could someone point me to the correct forum on a tutorial or something that could help me out?

instructions:
Just plug your phone in (DO NOT MOUNT IT !!!!!!!!) run backup_restore.bat and it will guide you through the rest.
i have also inluded it as a text file for those who want to edit it (e.g. moving where apps are backed up to)
Bugs:
when backing up apps it shows lots of errors ignore these and navigate to sdcard/app and they will all be there
other than that bug it works fine for me, i just thought i would share it with you guys

you can choose to do each of those individually? or does it do them all at the same time?

Good job. But Backup for Root users does a lot more than this and it's easier to use.

I understand. I am doing some stuff like that just to learn. Next, you should look at what Backup for Root users does and see if you can recreate that functionality on your own. It's mostly just copying specific .db files to and from the right location.

do you know where to find out the locations and their specific jobs? Thanks in advance.
It is a lot easier and learning-wise for a person to do it themself, rather than them seeing a script and/or person make it for them. Sorry but its true. Besides that, cool stuff

I know some of them. I looked into it when I was using Backup for root users all the time. mmssms.db stores all of your messages. It is located in /data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
browser.db stores all of the bookmarks and stuff for the browser /data/com.android.browsers/databases
alarms.db stores all of the alarms. It is at /data/com.android.alarmclock/databases
If there is something specific that you are looking for let me know.

I believe the market is assets.db located in /data/data/com.android.vending/databases
Test it out to make sure I'm right.
Is app data backed up as well? Or just the .apks?
Hello all :=)
Thought i would give a small quick guide for you hehe.
Ofc root your phone before this :=)
Step1.
Install Titanium Backup from market.
Step2. Start it.
step 3 Firstly, after you run Titanium Backup you need to tap on "Problems?" and accept to download BusyBox.
Step 4. Keep your finger pressed on the app you want removed.
step5. On the bottom of the options that comes up you find force remove app.
That simple it is
Im aware of some people have posted this in threads and such, but i thought i would make a simple straight forward guide for them that did not know about titanium backup
Warning
This will stop the OTA updates for your phones.
You will need to download the ZIP for the update when it's released here to update.
Or the RUU
The guide is incomplete. Firstly, after you run Titanium Backup you need to tap on "Problems?" and accept to download BusyBox.

Cool... But I must be doing something wrong... Got the Busybox and did as above, but after the restarts the removed app is still there

You need to have the newest TitBackup 3.5.7.3 to do that. Then remember not to use Uninstall option but you need to keep your finger for a little longer to see full list of options and then select force to remove using Paul's recovery.
Thread stuck.
Works great!
Got it working now Is it true that if there's a new ota we need to flash this rom from scratch to be allowed to get the update?
/CK
Thanks fir this update.
So you guys removed which apps?
Other threads have reported that you may not be able to download future Android updates (OTA) if you remove apps. Is this confirmed?
Maybe issue a warning in first post to avoid problems later?

I was only asking, because this thread which has been made sticky does not mention this issue at all.
Others may use this guide and not be aware of this fact.

I see no point in having apps that I don't use. I prefer to have this space for things that I use. It's simple. No one is forcing you to remove anything.

Apps you install cannot use the space freed up with removing stock apps so it's useless. I rather freeze them with Titanium Backup and they're removed from the launcher and don't use system resources.

You are right, I forgot that they are on different partitions. But anyway - I prefer to remove them. You prefer to freeze them - fine. It's everybody's choice.

I use Root Uninstaller. You can also uninstall system apps (be really careful) through Titanium Backup and a number of other file managers with root access.
Thx ! =) tried and successed
I know your question has been answered, but, you can also freeze stock apps with TitaniumBackup in case you're hesitant in completely removing them.

You don't need one. Just connect your phone in MTP mode (or whatever your device calls it) and use the standard Windows Explorer. To backup an Android device you need a custom Recovery installed so you can take a Nandroid backup.

Search and read mate. You have a lot of learning to do if you don't know what that means, so you should start now.
I think his asking for something like Samsung Kies. I am also looking for a desktop application similar to KIES because once u flash a custom ROM you cannot use Kies anymore

Exactly I am asking for the application like kies. And the backup manager to backup my entire android system not just apps and settings without getting into rooting
Google "android commander." I think it needs root though.
Any other suggestion for the backup program that dont require root and create the system image of my android device??

Seeing as you haven't even bothered to mention at any time what device you have, it would be fairly pointless for anyone to try suggesting that. Any application like you are looking for will be hardware specific.
You can't backup apps and app data if your phone is not rooted. Take a look at My Backup Pro from Play store to view the list of items that can be backup with root and without root. I recommend Titanium Backup if your phone is rooted.

Incorrect. Samsung KIES does not require root access to carry out a backup. It's also possible to back up non-rooted with Helium, although I haven't used it so am not sure how simple it is.

Sorry, I have Note 3
Backup app
So no suggestion about the backup app??
After many difficulties, and thanks to the support of the forum, I finally managed to upgrade my L29 from B180 to B368 ROM (kangvip).
Later I had some drawbacks trying to restore my apps I got them with titanium backup. TWRP restore was not successful and I don´t want to try it again on phone, to avoid havind to install all again
However I lost some documents that are backed up on twrp, so I wonder of there is a way to open twrp data files on my PC...
If you know how to do it please let me know
many thanks
