will these two work? - Nexus One Accessories

well i have my heart set on the case mate tough case (either red+black or black+black) but it doesn't protect the front of the phone incase i have something in my pocket. and i seen the thread on the full body guards here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618006 so my question is, do these skin add enough bulkiness for the nexus one to not fit the case mate tough case or what?

Well I applied a Best Skins Ever to my Nexus and while I liked the protection... I removed all but the screen, and it fit just fine in my tough case and body glove case with it all on!

okay thanks! i need my $600 investment fully protect

Black & Red???
I just saw that they now have the Tough case in black and red!? WTF? I just ordered my Otterbox too! I love the look of the color combo! Oh man, decisions, decisions, decisions...

Just saw that you have the option of buying just the skin insert rather than a whole new case. Translation- Ordered! Now I have an Otterbox and a red skin for my Case Mate on the way. I think I have an addiction to cases like Hah2110 has to battery life... ;P

Best set of accessories to protect the Nexus One

I want to buy the best set of accessories that would protect my Nexus One. I'm happy with my iPod Touch's current setup, which has a fit and sturdy silicon case and a decent screen protector. This way, I confidently put my gadget anywhere without worrying too much about it. I even have it with me in the shower. I put it in a place where it won't get wet too much. lol. I'm also confident in lending it to my 2-year-old niece.
For my Nexus One, I want a similar setup. I'm thinking of getting a Seidio Innocase II Surface - Black ( http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/csr3hnx1-bk.htm ) and a skin (probably an InvisibleSheild http://www.amazon.com/invisibleSHIE...6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1265125631&sr=1-6 because of its reputation in the forums).
I want something elegant too that's why I'm not considering this Silicon Crystal Case ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938811&pf_rd_i=507846 ) even if it seems durable because of the cheap-ish aesthetics.
What can you recommend? Should I go with the Seidio and InvisibleSheild to make my Nexus One baby-friendly?
It seems that the Innocase and Invisibleshield-type "condoms" don't match well. Check the Innocase thread.
Oh. Maybe, I'll just settle with a Seido and a screen protector. What do you think?
How about Ultra-Case ( http://www.ultra-case.com/product.php?pID=415 ) vs. Seido Innocase II?
I'm waiting for something with a bit more style to come along. The iPhone has some great looking hard cases, I'm waiting for the Nexus designers to catch up.
i have the crystal case and its pretty good and snug fitting! i wouldnt get the invisible shield because it has an orange peel surface :\ i dont know if its been fixed now but it was like that on my blackberry. the screen is pretty resilient so you can probably get by with a cheap static one. just look for one thats flat and clear and you should be protected! they are cheap enough that if you do scratch the plastic you can throw another one on

otterbox for Nexus One (strongest cases ever)

otterbox are the Sh*t when it comes to there cases as you can see on youtube when they run over a iphone with a car and drop it in the water
and otterbox are finally bringing it to the nexus one
http://www.otterbox.com/nexus-one-cases/
there are 2 cases
Google Nexus One Impact Series Case
Price: $19.95
and
Google Nexus One Commuter Series Case
Price: $34.95
it look like it dont have screen protection
what you guys think
it's about time!..i have the commuter for my bb9700 and love it...
**just checked and it's not for sale as of yet..
my field of work warrants an otterbox for sure but i want one that is waterproof.
cant have an otter that wont get wet.
cool stuff
I am pretty excited I have never had a phone that Otter made a case for, but my friend has a Defender on his 3Gs and it works for sure! I wish they covered the front of the phone though... I might get the Commuter series, but I already have a Body Glove case and Tough Case from Case-Mate lol
But I signed up to be alerted, because it looks sleek and much stronger than anything I've seen so far!
Edit: The clear film looks like a screen protector for the front! Click on the PDF at the bottom
I also already have the Body Glove for my N1...But that Otter Commuter for the N1 looks seriously kick-ass!

Just signed up for this bad boy
I'm going to need to see some reviews of this one before buying.
The reason i bought a case-mate tough case is because one person wrote that his nexus one survived a 35 foot drop onto concrete. If this otterbox could do the same and then some, its worth it and i'll buy it. I'll be looking forward to those reviews (and pics) guys. Peace
Whats the difference between them?
Looks like the "Impact" one covers more of the phone? but then its also cheaper?

I have the impact and the commuter for the iPhone. If they are anything like those:
The impact is a simple silicone case, a very nice hardened silicone that doesn't attract nearly as much dust and grime as your typical case.
The commuter may be one piece or it may be two, its like an impact case (silicone) with a hard plastic shell over it, this means that it slips out of your pocket much easier. It also has plugs to plug up the holes that flip out.
I just got a confirmation email from Otter Box that the Nexus One case is now available.
Just put a order in for a commuter case. Shipping was $4.80 for USPS ground. This code gave me 10% ($3.50) off of my order.
amcc0310n (found it here)
I'll post some pictures and a review when it gets here. Anyone have any experience with their screen protectors that comes with the case?
Have seen a few on Iphones they were bubbled. Maybe they didnt install them right. I'm sticking with my amzer screen protector. And using the commander case. I'll have ultimate protection best skin ever, amzer screen protector and otterbox commuter case. SWT
Well I will be ordering a Commuter on payday tomorrow, and I hope that 10% off works haha
Thanks

Has anyone found a holster that would work with the commuter case for the N1? I have the Seidio Innocase II combo right now and I need the holster for my line of work!!!

Otterbox commuter series case

Does anyone have any experience with this series Otterbox case? I don't really care for the size of the case on the iPhone, but i've only seen their defender series up close. This commuter series for our phones look nice, but until I can get some feedback I might wait on making the purchase.
Anyone?
http://www.otterbox.com/Samsung-Fas...color=20&start=1&cgid=samsung-fascinate-cases
I don't have any experience with Otterbox cases, but I can tell you that more than a few people around here were "patiently" awaiting their arrival for our phone.
I've been waiting for a solid case as well, but something that doesn't add too much bulk and weight to the phone like the Otterbox Defender does to the iPhone.
I saw that it was available yesterday and almost ordered it.
I had one on my incredible and really like how tough it was, however it does make the phone seem much larger, after my wife wanted the inc she wanted a pink or purple case so I sold the otterbox and gave her a Seido active purple case, wich does not seem as protective as the otterbox, but is also thinner.
I have a cheapy <$3 amazon rubber case on it, and I am very tired of it being hard to get in and out of my pocket and the case being so stretchy....I kind of like those "Breeze" mesh snap on cases on ebay for $13 because of how slim they are, I am torn on one of these or the otterbox....my only worry with the otterbox is how much bigger it will make the phone.
Justin
Zagg...case free...not one complaint...there are others like zagg that do the same job but zagg is very reliable and you can get a new case whenever you want for the shipping cost of like $4...
Sent from my rooted 1.2 voodoo Fascinate
I had a Otterbox case for my Droid 1, and it was nice. Added a lot of bulk to the phone, but I was confident it was safe. Waiting to see what the Fascinate case will be like.
My buddie has the Otterbox case on his iphone 4. Its well made but very bulky. Too bulky imo. Personally I went with the kickstand case from verizon. There is already a discussion about on here so I wont go into the details. Slap on a screen protector of your choice and done.
Heres a link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812410&highlight=verizon+kickstand+case

Just got the case in the mail. I think it's great. It does make the phone a little bulky, but no too much IMHO. The main problem I have with it is that the hole for the speaker does not line up and actually covers up half of it. Not really worth returning it for, but it irks me slightly.
@CouchSpud, Any way you can post pictures? I've been looking at this case, but it looks like the pictures on Otterbox website are of a silicone only case similar to the Impact series for the Captivate. Then when I click the link to PDF specs, the spec sheet shows a Commuter case for the Captivate instead. Curious what they sent you?
If I understand the difference correctly, the Commuter case should be a polycarbonate cover over a silicone sleeve, while the Defender case is silicone over polycarbonate. Or does the defender case have silicone on both sides of the polycarbonate (3 pieces)? Not sure why the Defender would be better...

No problem. It's only a two piece case and it has a silicone interior and a polycarbonate exterior.
The first picture shows the silicone interior to the left and the hard exterior to it's right. The second picture shows how thick the case is compared to the phone by itself. The last picture shows how far off the hole for the speaker is.
o man thats a deal breaker for me... I really loved my otterbox on my Droid 1 it was amazing in terms of protection and I was going to order this too before I saw that pic of it covering half the speaker. Thats ridiculous... how could the mis-align the phone with the case.
I just received the case yesterday and It does add bulk to the case but feels very solid and will keep the fascinate very safe... i thought the covering of the speaker would be a problem but I don't notice and change in sound. Could be a little cheaper ~$40 with shipping.

I can't believe they didn't check this before running them.
On a side note, do you guys prefer Zagg invisible shield or wrapsol http://www.wrapsol.com/en_US/Home+Page/Products/iphone+_+mobile/samsung/Fascinate.aspx
I ordered a Zagg, but after watching a few youtube videos it seems people say the wrapsol has a smoother touch and less of the orange peel effect?? What do you guys think?

[Q] Help needed in deciding which case to buy!

Hey guys I ordered my N4 about some time ago and it's gonna be here soon. Meanwhile i was going through the accessories thread and i found many cases here but I'm unable to decide on what to get. Need your help.
Firstly, should i get a full case with a front screen guard or a bumper with front and back protection? I really want to show off the back of my phone but then i don't want to screw it up either so i need your help in deciding for a case combo that will offer good protection. I really don't want flip cases or pouches so that's out of the question now. I've found a few i like and if anyone is using any of them currently, a small review will be appreciated! Here are the ones i liked
Cases:
1. Poetic Bumper Case

Screen Protectors:

Please help me decide guys! Also, if you can find any coupon code it would be much appreciated! Thanks!
I bought XO skins for the front and Xtreme guards for the back.
Also bought Poetic Atmostphere for more protection.
And bought the Ringke Slim and Nillkin cases for a slim and good feeling/looking case.
So IMO, I recommend those.

no trouble at all. im just lazy but no doubt you will get more responses if peeps can just click.
edit: i got a thing for the robot and i am not ashamed to admit it.
what i would like to see in a case is a way to allow for the sound to come out. my att gs2 speaker is slightly curved to allow for it to bounce. everything i see does nothing but smother that which is already smothered. i think i am going to do nothing more than stick a couple of milimeter wide and tall lumps on the bottom corners and call it good.
I bought the Ringke White Slim Case and I love it! It looks awesome and feels awesome. I also just purchased 3 full body xtreme guards. Total was 6 bucks! So i recommend those! :good:
All of them!!! lol
I got BSE, x-line case(i think), a Rearth case, and a Poetic bumper case but I know I will be getting the official bumper and hopefully a curved screen protector from SGP in the future to replace the front BSE if they make one. Same goes for the SGP Bumpers too. I'll be posting pics of Rearth and BSE soon. Someone should make a thread with a first post containing only user submitted pictures of accessories.

Looking forward to it. Does BSE have cutouts for proximity sensor? Which is better BSE or Xtremeguard? Considering either and which is better among diztronic and rearth?
Xtreme guards are pretty good. But you can tell the quality difference with that and XO skins. XO feels much more premium and smoother. And little to no orange peel effect. So I would suggest XO over Xtreme if you don't mind paying a couple more bucks.

I'm waiting for tech21's Impact Band Cases to come out for the Nexus 4. They replied to a PM on Facebook, and on their official facebook page, that cases for the Nexus 4 are coming, and check it out for yourself, those cases will be better than anything out so far; a good amount of protection from drops, and a detachable clear backplate for showing off the backs of our phones. Here's a link to their Impact Band for the iPhone 5.
I've been using the Ringke Slim as a stopgap for the time being and while it's very good for the $10 total that it cost, I've been wanting to show off the beautiful design of the phone and it's a shame to lose that with the cases out now. The best of both worlds will hopefully be here soon! If you guys agree, pester them on Facebook and their customer service so that they know we're waiting!
Here are pics of the Black Rearth case, its really thin but pretty hard. If your looking for drop protection get something else. On a scale of 1 to 10 for protection with 1 being no case and 10 being something like Otterbox, I give it a 3 almost a 4. I'll be using it for now until I get adjusted to holding this bigger phone but I can imagine myself taking it off soon.
Here is my post on BSE screen protectors as well.

Poetic Atmosphere or Diztronic. If you're looking for a slim hard case, I'd go Nillkin
I wanted an otterbox commuter but since that wasn't possible, I just ordered a diztronic. My wife got one for my vivid and the quality and fit our perfect and it adds a much needed grip to the phone and adequate protection without sacrificing the phones good looks.

Yeah from the pics I would go with Diztronic. Rearth didn't cause the protector to peel but it did cause these two small creases on the bottom back BSE that are slowly going away. In the inside pic you can see two lines that go from the top edge to the bottom. That's what caused it.
Oh yeah, my BSE doesn't have a cutout for the proximity sensor but it works just fine.

God I was hoping iwouldbt see this. You do realize when you say "sexy" in reference to a phone case it immediatelymakes me think of glasses and a pocket protector right? How about cases are not sexy....ugh
This is the Black Otter Box Symmetry
Dont really like it. The power button is sort of hard to press, and the bottom ports are not covered.
However it does fit snug, and feels good in the hand. Edge screens are fully in view, and easy to access.
I'm waiting for the clear case to arrive next week. The only way to show off its attractive, premium design.
One of the BEST cases (maybe it is actually the best)
After shopping around almost all day yesterday and checking out a lot of cases I have
found that only one case meets my requirements.
I wanted good protection but did not want the case to look like it's made for a war zone!
The other cases were either flimsy, hardly any real protection and some of them were not precision enough
to allow the usb cable to plug into the phone easily without having to wiggle/jiggle the usb cable connector.
Also I did not want to get a two piece case which adds a lot of bulk without adding a lot of extra protection.
So finally I found this Otter Semmetery case which alleviated all my concerns. ($49.95)
This Otter case does not interfere with the phone's Edge panel at all, not even
slighty. (which was not the case when checking out a lot of the other cases.)
It's a one piece case but it is a lot sturdier than any of the two piece cases I checked out.
The material it's made out of is not the easily bendable TPU but it's no where near as stiff
as the hard plastic cases. It's somewhere around half as flexible when compared to the TPU.
Another plus is that the inside of the case feels like it has a soft rubber coating.
Here are some pictures of the case:
Have a great day!
