Volume control program - Touch2 Themes and Apps

Hello.
I need a program which can control my phones volume but control screen have to open by taskbar icon.
One good example is VolumeX but this is only trial.

Just checked the Volumex website....but could not see if it opens from taskbar (in 6.5 ofcourse). Can you confirm?

You must set it up on the 3rd tab at Start > Volumex Settings

Yes, I confirm that I can open it from taskbar

Thanks....than I need to get Volumex....

Well the Volumex thingy really sucked for me. First of all, it's too complicated. A volume control program should be up-volume up, down-volume down and two other buttons for vibrate and silent profiles. I don't need the default volume and interval checking features. It's like programming your day once more for using the volume control program on your smartphone. And that's dumb. And it has some sort of fade-out feature that is really annoying because it runs so slow that you can actually see the steps of it dissapearing and when you want to actually change the volume it doesn't check for idle state because I was pressing the volume keys and the app was doing it's routine of fading out even as I'm using it. Paying 10$ for this app would be a serious waste. It seems like it's the easiest thing in the world to write an app for controlling the volume, yet there is no good one out there. Too bad as I'm stuck with the 3.1 look on the default 6.5.5 package.

I find the default volume and timer feature useful for work, I use min volume at work and max when I listen music with headphones... but when I end listening I always forget to restore it to min and my boss gets mad... Volumex reminds me to switch to default (min) volume.
Btw it costs 8.90 not 10

why dont just asine a mini prog on the one of the hard keys, like volctrl.exe ie,got one uploaded look @ me pfile

Popup Clock when button is pressed?

Does anyone know if there's a popup clock that would display for 1-2 seconds when a button is pressed and would shut of the screen after that. Like the one found in Palm Tungsten T's?
I know a tool that does the reverse - ae button plus has a function to display a clock for a few seconds when switch on.
HI, this sounds pretty simple to me, just having a clock program, (i do have on I made on my phone (actually very simple c# script) but i am at work at the mo, will upload it when management leave )
But with just this simple clock, i could easily add a timer, which would close the app after a couple of seconds. Job Done?
I'll get on it later tonight, when i get home.
Hmm, just loaded the app on my new phone, turns out you need the .NET compact framework, maybe i will remake a similar app in C++ when i can be arsed , but for now i will modify it to close after a couple of seconds. and if you dont midn the fact it need .net then it will work for you just fine

Very easy to do with MortScript http://www.sto-helit.de/
Code:
utime=FormatTime("h:i A")
SetMessageFont(24)
SleepMessage(5,utime,"Time")
ToggleDisplay(False)
Plus you can customize it to suit your style. Be warned, MortScript can be addictive.
cool. can anyone create this small program?
Something kinda like S2U2, spb Time, or spb Mobile Shell's Now Screen... They all have a clock display on device wakeup.
yeah but what about when im just checking the time? I dont want to press powerup and power off just to check time. just press 1 button and it will auto shut off after 2 sec is better
I think vijay did something like this

You can see the time displayed in the taskbar in every program by tapping start menu/settings/system bar/clock/ tap "more" at bottom, check box. or you can install this zip, and map it to a hardware button. Mine is mapped where the messaging button is. You need visual basic runtime installed before the clock will work.

You control the clock talking by tapping anywhere in the center. To close the program, you need to tap the ok button in the taskbar.

Or you may want to install this zip file and map it to a hardware button. This is actually an alarm clock, but does'nt have to be used as one.

Clock shows the actual time with sweep second hand movement. Like wearing a wrist watch.
thanks but not quite the solution im looking for.
would be nice if we can check the time with 1 button and will shut off the screen after 2-3 secs

Volume adjustment on Kaiser using scroll? Help

I have been using dutty's roms for a while and love them.. I have not tried any other roms.
Is there a program or a way to easily adjust the volume.. perhaps
using the OK button on the side to bring up the volume and then the scroll wheel up or down...
Maybe this exist's? or maybe its just a reg tweak of remaping the OK button to bring up the volume slider.
If this is possible your input would be appreciated without grilling me... for asking a silly question.
i usually hit the speaker icon with my stylus... and then use the scroll wheel.. on my HTC wizard it worked like that. I dont use the ok button. so this would be great..
I would like also like to know this.

Ditto. I'm left-handed and hardly ever use the jog wheel for selecting because it is uncomfortable. I would be satisfied with reassigning it completely to volume control.
glad i am not the only one..
I was wondering if i was the only one who wanted this feature.. but i guess I am not... It seems there must be a way to remap the ok button to the volume slider.
One the volume slider pops up, the scroll wheel works already. Its hard when your driving top get out the stylus or even use your thumb to hit the little speaker icon which is tiny..
I dont use the ok button or the scroll wheel very much so this would be great.

I Dutty's ROM's if you disable the large start menu then the jog wheel will once again control your volume.....as far as remapping it to a different button I do not know the answer.
I checked v1.1 info on this rom:

# Unable to change incall volume (with scroll wheel) due to HTC Large Title Bar, which can be uninstalled now
So maybe it's because of HTC Large Title bar?
We want to be able to press a button to make the volume/phone box pop up, just as if you had pressed the speaker icon in the title bar. Just wanted to clarify that. The jog wheel works for volume you control when you select an app FIRST that has volume options to it, but the point is you have to select that first (i.e. volume sliders on title bar).
Right now if you are on your today screen and use the jog wheel, your scroll through today options (whatever plugisn you have enabled), not volume control
what is being asked here is if you can map one of the buttons to display the volume/phone pop up box. THen we'd be able to control via jog wheel.

Ohhh very nice, good find. Thanks
Ahh to bad, breaks on kaiser.
you can see the volume controls pop up briefly and incomplete but then they pop right down.

dang.. I just tried it and it works on my trinity. Apparently it was extracted from wisbar advanced, so perhaps you can find a working version of that and extract the appropriate file.
It is sort of working actually. Just sometimes it doesnt. better then nothing though
Still hoping for solution!
thanks for the input. I hope this thread does not die. It is one of my major gripes. The Wizard did it perfectly but the Kaiser does not.
Hopefully someone can change this. even if the ok button does not work, than maybe we can get the scroll wheel button to do it. I did not realize that the scroll wheel was a button also..
cool i am going to try as well

I copied the exe to my phone, but how do i map it to the ok button..
It runs if i use file manager to locate the file. If you could tell me what you did would be great.
If you create a short cut for the .exe file and place it in the "\windows\start menu\programs" folder you will see it then when you go to map a button.

Hey guys I assigned this app to the ptt button on my Tilt and it works perfectly!
One push and I can use the jog wheel to adjust volume, another push and it's gone.
Great find thanks!!!
Ok I just upgraded my radio from 1.27.12.11 to the recommended radio for my rom, 1.58.26.20 and am now seeing the problem being discussed here.
The balloon will pop up, but only momentarily, then closes. If you hit it enough times though it'll actually stay open.
Maybe this is an issue with radio compatibility? It seemed to work perfectly with the 1.27.12.11 radio.
[edit] Soft reset and it seems to be working again.
PTT button

I got the program working but could not assign it to the OK button under the jog wheel. I was able to assign it to OK on the front panel.. I use the PTT button for Voice Commander... It still would be nice to assign it to the ok button seeing that, that button is useless otherwise.

Good idea for backlight control

Alright.. as we all know looking at our phones in the bright sunlight is a pain, so I was trying to figure out a good way to control the backlight without having to do too much work. I was thinking that we could assign a hard key to launch an application, and then from there our volume controls or scroll wheel could adjust the backlight. Is there a program that does something similar already?

Why not use a plugin?
Or, if you want a hardware button assigned, create a shortcut, .lnk, name it "Backlight.lnk", throw it in the "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs", and there you go!
Edit: Here's the shortcut attached, just make sure you change it from ".txt" to ".lnk"
That didn't work for me.
Oops, forgot to delete the first few words, here it is, should work.
I kept searching around and I came across this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379270
This worked just fine. I mapped it to my Voice Record button. Now I can just hold the button, and adjust the backlight with my scroll wheel.
Thanks for your help!

Adjust volume with keys without pause/stop/break video playback in full screen

Greetings.
I want to share what i discovered with this subject and help people to finally use their HD2 as it was suppose to be from the beginning. You are probable all very annoyed by the fact that it is not possible to adjust volume in any video player using volume keys and not to break video playback, especially in full screen mode.
Well, that's history. I found that VolumeX ( http://volumex.jdbp.mobi/default.htm ) can do just that. You can adjust volume in any video player with volume keys without pause/stop/break video playback even in full screen mode...
To activate this ability you have to, of course, install VolumeX and after that you have to alter one registry entry.
Go to HKLM\Software\JDB Pocketware\Volumex\EXCEPS
and there you can add app that would be able to use this ability of VolumeX (you must add class name of the application, it can be found with dotfred's TaskManager on window tab; http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm).
Here is what i add in exception list:
1|HTCYOUTUBE;1|FMRadioMain;1|WMP for Mobile Devices;1|MunichWinClass;1|PlayerFullScreenWindowClass;1|AudioBoosterClass;1|wCorePlayer;1|PocketMusic;1|MYFSPLAYER;1|FspVideoDispWnd
Thankx JDB for this app...
I'm trying volumex, and your tip seems to work great. I actually don't understand why this is not standard (and the whole of Volumex idea)...
Thanks.
Working well, but now I can't get the "volume screen" when I press volume buttons even outside the exception programs. Any idea?
Here are my exceptions:
1|wCorePlayer;1;1|PocketPlayer;1|PocketMusic;1|HTCYOUTUBE;1|FMRadioMain;1|WMP for Mobile Devices;1|MunichWinClass;1|PlayerFullScreenWindowClass;1|AudioBoosterClass;1|FspVideoDispWnd
Thanks
BTW, I'm using and HD2 with Miri's 6.5.x v16 ROM
Solved by JDB, thanks.

Taskbar customization and volume manager

I finally customized my mega the way I wanted it to be when I initially bought it. I'm also running a 6.5.5 rom. Unfortunately I still have some issues with it and I was wondering if someone knew anything about them. First of them is if it would be possible to remove the start soft key in the bottom left corner of the screen. That would be nice since the mega already has a hardware start key and the one on the screen becomes redundant. It would be nice if we would just have two soft keys in the bottom corners
Also, I looked for a solution for the ugly volume manager in these last builds but couldn't really find one. I tried other volume managers like setvolume but that one is buggy even with answering phone calls. I find that unacceptable because most of all, it's a phone. So maybe if we could restore the default one or use another one without so many bugs that would be great. I saw somewhere that a solution was already available but for vga phones. Maybe that could be ported to qvga
I am with you on this. Would love to see these fixes.
I need theses fixes too!!! WM 6.5.5 has bad interface...
Why does the volume control must be so fat and ugly??
The most important thing is volume control in the youtube app sucks!
I wish someone can fix the volume control to use back the original HTC one.
Erm ok, the problem is even when the default HTC Volume control is implemented in the ROM, for some reason WM 6.5.5 overwrites that. I tried a few times. I think that sucks cos I'm a student , and my phone needs to be on silent. But the new volume control can be activated on the lockscreen so I'm afraid it would turn silent off. Any suggestions for this?

There's a nice app called SetVolume that does the trick quite nicely. Also, there's a cab that can remove the start button. I lost the cab but there's a registry tweak that does the job. You can search for it.
