Best music player? - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

What's the best music player for the hd2? Mine just hangs when I go to it! On the latest gtx energy rom
I left it for 20 min and it still hadn't loaded!

In my opinion the best one is POCKETMUSIC for FLAC and S2P for mp3

pocketplayer 4.0 / 4.1.
it roxx, and with SRS WOWHD even more.. u should try this
im audiophile, and i like it very much xD

Everyone's got their own favourite - there is no "best" one.
My fave is Nitrogen, especially since it can control bluetooth audio volume (which is pretty important to me, after spending £60 on some bluetooth earphones )

Yes, UR right... SRS WOWHD is very importand... combo with POCKETMUSIC roxx with of course good headphones (Crossroads Mylarone X3i, JBL 220, Phillips SHE9500 or JBuds J3 Micro Atomic)

Music Player
Pockettunes is my favourite as I listen to a lot of audio books and this has an automatic bookmark. Switch between books and it remembers where it left off. Has internet radio channels too. Plays with the unit turned off, bluetooth headset compatible. Give it a try

MP3 Playback on O2 XDA Exec

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i've only just ordered my XDA Exec. I'm a long distance HGV driver and take loads of bloody things on the road with me which is why I decided to get an Exec to combine them all into one. I was wondering what the MP3/xvid/divx playback is like on them? I plan on putting in a 4 gig SD card so I can play all my MP3's etc (and a couple of tv episodes I follow) and was wondering what the playback is like on them? Is it ok or do I still need to take my MP3 player etc with me?
Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to help.
I'm only using 1Gb here, but Media Player 10 happily plays all the MP3's I throw at it without a problems.
For DivX though you'll need something like BetaPlayer though (now relabed TCPMP) Just google it will find really fast.
Yeah, I downloaded that TCPMP the other day. Is the quality of MP3 playback (sound quality) on the Exec good?

Well I guess really depends what you're comparing it too
If you're playing through headphones it's fine and personally everything sounds great to me.
If you're playing through built in (stereo!) speakersit's certainly no worse than my previous BlueAngel (XDA IIs) and I think it's louder too. It's not amazingly ultra clear etc, but then it's not designed to be a super expensive stereo It certainly is good enough for me while getting ready in the morning etc. Othertimes just use the headphones and that's great.
Hope that's some help.
even old b&w pda's play mp3 just fine
it's not really that hard
and even xda1's play movies just fine in the res of their screen
Thanks very much to you both. I'll be playing it through headphones when i'm unloading my lorry. I always go to depots that are empty so I listen to my MP3 player to get through the boredom while i'm unloading and like good quality sounds
Consider converting your MP3s (or re-ripping them) to the new format AACPlus v2.
I have a 2GB Sandisk SD card in my Exec. Using the aacplus v2 I am able to have over 75 albums (yes, 75) at better-than-cd-quality bitrates, as well as everything else such as Tomtom, installed apps and a couple of films.
You would need to use TCPMP with the AAC plugin (which can be googled for pretty easily) to play them as WMP will not play them in high quality, but offers incredibly low filesizes - in some cases just over 1MB for a 4min song.
Cheers
Ant
I use my Exec as a MP3 player a lot, and with a decent pair of headphones the sound quality is great. I tend to use GSPlayer for audio more often, mainly as it has good support for Shoutcast radio too, although if O2 really do start charging for GPRS that may become a thing of the past.
Anton do you know of any good free MP3 to AACPlus v2 converters?
Chrispy, you may also want to consider getting a FM transmitter from Ebay or ordered from overseas (They are not sold in UK due to broadcast liscence issues), that way you can broadcast the Execs output to your Trucks radio.
I use the standard Windows Media Player for mp3 and it works just fine and sounds comparable in quality to my other mp3 players.
It's even better if you purchase Microsoft Voice Command as you can control WMP with one button press and your voice, and even use a BT headset - great for driving.

Any player for Tornado with full AVRCP Support?

Hey, I was wondering whether there is a music player for Tornado with full AVRCP support, i mean supporting play/pause/rewind/fast forward buttons on my A2DP headset. Windows Media Player isn't that bad but it really cuts performance (and battery) down, and A2DP uses much resources anyway and that 2 things together make phone really sluggish. Are there any other recommendations?
Coreplayer.. the commercial one, not TCPMP unfortunately

Best Music player for HD2?

Hi,
I would like to know which music player is best for playing music on HD?
I looking for someone good player as Ipod or as build on sence, good-looking and have good management also..

I prefer Kinoma Play.
Others you can try are Nitrogen, S2P, Pocketplayer, Mortplayer, Pocketmusic.
I use Kinoma Free Play. It's really good.
Nitrogen
Nitrogen is the best player!

Looking good but there you can play lot off thing's i wont only for music for rest i have coreplayer but picasa upload ets not bad too..
Big fan op pocketplayer here...
Kinoma Play by far....
I more and more like the built in HTC music player.
To my mind, mort player ist the best. wvga is supported by many skins it's got mp3 alarm (that works), mp3 and ogg support and it is freeware.
here is the dl:
http://mortplayer.softonic.de/pocketpc
I found S2P and this is not so bad..
I used to use Nitrogen but started to get pauses in the playback for a couple of seconds at a time. With Nitrogen installed these occurred in both the built in Music Player and Nitrogen itself. As soon as I removed it though these pauses also disappeared. Now I use the built in Music Player until I find something better that is also finger friendly.
I would like to ask, which player can support AVRCP on HD2?
Nowadays i get back to buld-in music player.. I didn't found any player to be better..
Probably a stupid question but can I still access the built in htc music player if I have SPB shell installed?
Also, why is Kinoma player described as Free? I thought it was a program you have to pay for?
If you want the best equalizer (you have to pump up the low frequencies in order to get a good bass), best bass level (the best for Rock and Metal music) and a very good UI, you should go for Pocket Player. It has tons of functions (playlists and a lot more organizing functions) and it's the most function oriented music player. It works perfectly with the headset (its buttons) when you install the WMP plugin (something you don't get with the other players) . If you use it combined with the AudioBooster of the phone, the sound will be perfect.
But if you want something simple to use, use PocketMusic (the equalizer is horrible, but the bass booster is very good) or Nitrogen. MortPlayer isn't bad. But it can be difficult to use and it's a heavy program.
So there you have it.

There's a free version called "Kinoma Free Play". It works great for music with no real limitations (except for upgrade ads at startup).
nitrogen is very basic, but does the job. PocketPlayer is without a doubt the best player out there though.
Thanks Nsider
I've tried it now and kinoma keeps hanging when it's scanning through my media on the storage card so I've not actually been able to test it. It's the same video it gets stuck on so I could remove it I guess but not much use if that happens whenever there is a file it doesn't like.
Tried Pocket Player and while it looks like it'd do the job ok it seems REALLY slow to run & respond. Any reason why this would be?
Pocket Player is slow at the first time you run it. Because it searches for your MP3 files and it makes an index of them. Therfor it is slow only for 3-5 minutes. After that, it's very fast and smooth. If you have a class 2 memory card, install Pocet Player on your device memory.

Builtin HTC media player in my books, could do with a few tweaks tho, like search/letters down the side. On Coverflo the albums should be ordered alphabetically. Other than that its perfect! I have about 14gb worth of music and it handles it perfectly.
Other than that, I would also go with PocketPlayer, its really good, loved using that on my Diamond.

BlueTooth controls in Music works in 2.1 ROMs

hi all...
i dont know if this was posted before...But I know there were many others like me that was looking for a way to fix this.
I am running DC 2.07.2 ROM...with Plantronics Stereo bluetooth headset:
I am running Meridian Player, and I can control the play back with the controls on my bluetooth headset.
Next song
previous song
pause
play
This might work on other music apps too!!
It does not work (bluetooth controls) with internet based music apps like: Pandora and TuneWiki.
before it would only control the HTC Music player. If I tried before while listening to music in any music player; it would start another playback in the HTC music app. I would be hearing 2 songs at one time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is great!!!
THanks to Damageless and his devs!!!
I am running Fresh 2.0d and I use Mixzing Lite connected by bluetooth to a JVC BT-1 headunit. In the past I would have the same problem where using the bluetooth controls would start a new instance of TC music and I would have two songs playing at once.
With Fresh 2.0d the bluetooth controls work with Mixzing with one catch. when I press skip it will skip two tracks. I'll here 1 second of the first track adn then the second will play all the way through. Now sure if it is a 2.1 issue, a JVC issue or a Mixzing issue. Not a big deal though. Just happy I can play and pause.
That's really good news for me. I had given up on ever being able to control a 3rd party music app. Thanks for posting this!

I use Phantronics Voyager and it only skips 1 song at a time.
You should download another music app and try that. I recommend Meridian Player

Edge? What is the ultimate music listening/management suite of apps for the S7 edge?

Folks, I have a pretty large non-DRM .mp3 music library in iTunes. I have used ISyncr in the past, with my Galaxy s5, to bring down playlists and music and synchronize my Android phone to iTunes. Lately it hasn't been working well, probably because I have well over a thousand playlists.
I am also looking for the best music player, and wish to add Lyrics, and am intrigued by the Viper 4Android sound app, but I don't want to root my phone.
What do you all recommend as the best music player, the best app to sync iTunes, the best audio effects suite of apps to a music lover? Thanks so very much in advance for your help!
I've used all the free and paid music players over the years. Neutron is truly the only professional solution. It literally has every feature, where most players offer half of what neutron does. Poweramp is good for consumers too. Idk about iTunes syncing, I organize all my music in folders. Neutron has the most full featured non-root EQ, but if you're rooted eXtreme beats is coming out with a new revision soon.
for a regular user i think poweramp is the best music player.. nice sound and controls plus skinning. you can import playlists and export them as well.
Neutron is widely considered the best by audiophiles followed by Onkyo player (unlocked).
personally i leave the mp3 tagging stuff off of the phone. I havent found any apps that will properly list and tag mp3's as well as i can do it on a computer.
Assuming you're on windows, use MP3Tag to manage all your tags. it works on way more than mp3's, but it is by far the best solution for media library management.
For playback, i jump around on windows. Musicbee looks nice and is full featured. Winamp is nice. Foobar is very spartan and quite ugly but it works well and you can make it look more or less however you want, though it takes a lot of effort.
On the phone itself i use poweramp for music playback (though i do find the interface a bit clunky, and i dislike the "queue" thing it does). Neutron always gets good ratings. I had a horrible time with onkyo hf player. winamp is OK at best.
For audiobooks, i use SmartAudiobook Player. there are some weird bugginess issues, like when my head unit automatically starts the audiobook app instead of music, and refuses to play nice with it. Like if i stop the audiobook player and start music, sometimes the music will immediately stop and audiobooks will play instead. but my car is so damn loud that i use headphones while driving most of the time anyways.
I think JetAudio plus does a great job.
Where do I start lol...I have slowly turned into an audiophile and always look for the best audio on my phone so I have tried just about all the most popular music players / audio configs i could find on my phone,
I have also tried external DACS / Amplifiers and to be honest with my setup did not do much for me..I am running SOL Master Tracks XC headphones which are amazing with this phone and would totally recommend Neutron or Poweramp they seem to give the best sound from all I have tried and are also very customisable with the sound...
ViperFX is a must!! and the options / tweaks are just insane and what a difference it makes with a simple change of Convoler and EQ,
I use ViperFX with Dolby Atmos and Beats Audio which seems to me the best option and I flick between Neutron and Poweramp which i am still not decided on
What do you guys think of PlayerPro Music Player v3.7 ? I think it has the most features but I don't know how it compares to others, so I need your help to decide .

Rocket Player Pro is great! Using it for years!
Been using Timber for a bit now. Mostly use it because it looks really slick. I like the material design it has.

Player pro amazing app, I switched to Neutron which I am currently using and was using Poweramp before that, I find Neutron to give a more Natural better sound than others but Neutron / Poweramp / Player Pro and Jet music are ones id recommend
I'm a Poweramp fan myself.
There's an option in the app to opt into the beta, which let's you try an overhauled new version which improves on a lot of the old usability issues.

I use this. I've used it for a few years. I love it. Plenty of skins, downloadable DSP Pack for additional audio controls, has it's own lock screen. :good:
Thank you for your replies..
So I guess if I stick with PlayerPro Music Player ,I am not missing any other features and the sound of other players is not greater/nicer than this ?!
Stock, because there's no real difference.
the best is power amp beta version try someday
