Question about Flash games - Nexus One Themes and Apps

I had a question in mind regarding future flash games...will it be possible that dev's would be able to pick games off the internet and make them into apk's for our froyos? games like stick cricket etc etc...can they be made into apks?

I think Adobe already have tools for exactly this sort of thing.

great! so we can xpect 3d flash games made into apks? cant wait

[Q] Why Some Xbox Games (harbor master etc) dont work ?

I tried deploying some of the Games from XBL title range some examples are Harbor Master, Fruit Ninja, Parachute Panic etc.....
They get installed fine but when i launch them they just comes back to the games menu and does not start.
I am doing this on HD7 using MS "XAPDeploy.exe".
Is anyone else having the same issue, if yes do we know of a possible solution.
Normal apps are DRM (Digital Rights Management) protected. This protection is the same for every app and so it's easily removable.
XBox Live Games are not only DRM protected but also use special protection like XBox Live Services for example. There are some guys out there who can still rip off this protection but to do so you've to decompile the app, throw a look into the .dll files and understand the code ^^
thanks a lot for the information, but myself not being so dev sevvy cannot do it. i tried XAP dll signer but still it does not work.
Any other help

Buy the games...which im guessing you may not be able to do
ask these questions where you got the games...they should be able to help you more since there should be people running into the same problems as you
Find a different/better source to get the games

new capcom emulator CPSEmu

Just tried Super Street Fighter 2 and it works flawless on my play. The biggest plus is the save state feature. My play just keeps geeting better....

xmen vs street fighter seems to work perfectly.
will probably purchase donate version.
is there gamepad support for this app?
Hi guys , sorry for sounding a noob lol , I have got myself this awesome phone and love it ,
See that your all using emulators on your plays really want to get this working on mine sorry for asking how ?
Again sorry for asking
All the best
Chris
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
trying to get this to run on the leaked ICS rom , I guess it isn't compatible yet , keep getting an error when I try to open a ROM , ERROR: File not found or CRC32 not correct "GFX1"
Im downloading the roms directly through the app, and no joy.
EDIT: Just got it to work, grabbed the rom from another site , had to double check the size of the file and it worked.
yeah you must not give up. you have to find the right rom that works with this emulator. some roms are just clones. Has anyone found a working copy of street fighter 3?
So far I got Marvel vs Capcom, Street fighter Alpha 2, Xmen Children of Atom, Xmen vs street fighter, and Alien vs Predator working

What you need to do is get an emulator (an application that does what the original console/system would do, "emulating it") from the Android Market or grab some of these ones (they work well): http://apps.tigerplay.info/, copy the APK ("installer") to the phone's SD card, then use a file explorer to navigate to and install the emulator.
The other thing you need is the ROM, which is a dump of the game/content for a system. It's not legal to post them here but google can help with this, SNES ROMs end in .SMC for example, CPS (the Capcom games mentioned here) have a lot of files and the emulators just open up the .zip they come in (keeps things more organised), Gameboy Advance .GBA, Nintendo NES .NES.
Try googling "Super Mario World ROM" for example (being wary of dodgy sites) or if you know BitTorrent then you can usually get packs containing every ROM for the system.
Generally what you'll do is put the ROMs in a folder on the phones SD card, open the emulator and browse to the ROMs folder and open a ROM. Because the Xperia Play has hardware buttons you should turn off the on-screen overlay/buttons because you'll have actual buttons you can use, then go to map the buttons to the buttons on the controller.
Some emulator's you'll need to play with the graphics or frameskipping settings to get them running smoothly.
Good luck and hopefully you'll get it going!

[Q A700] why stock games are crashing under CM10?

Hi, I have re-installed some stock games, Zem Pinball THD, HW Solitaire SE, Glowball (oups no, it's not a stock game), but all this games crashes under CM10.
I know that CM10 is under development, but it's curious that all this games, that need the powerfull CPU and GPU Tegra 3 are crashing!
Any idea or comments?
I have tried to delete the cache, but this does not help in my case.

You pretty much answered your own question "it's under development".
Although a lot of the "features" work in CM10 releases, there are still issues that will eventually get sorted out over time. In the case of games crashing, it is most likely due to memory leaks which is pretty common with new development. You can see this happening in other device forums. Eventually they get straightened out either by new source from Google, Acer Drivers, or the folks at CyanogenMod get something going.
The best way to help any development, is when you have an app crash, and you can repeat it, then start ADB and do a Logcat. After the crash, attach the logcat.txt to your post.
This way, Devs can look at the logcat, and hopefully find what's causing it, or what's failing. Without a logcat, for most issues, there's really no sense in trying to fix something, when you don't know where to start. And most Dev's are not going to install a lot of apps just because the users have problems with them.
Here's a nice guide put together by one of my counterparts on how to logcat.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726238
You can run ADB via your PC by way of Android SDK, or by installing a Terminal app on your tab, or, you can get a specific logcat app from the market, like "ALogcat". It's not difficult, and it ain't rocket science
Rock On!

[Q] Compatibility of games

Hey I was just wondering, some of the really cool games like iron man 3 and real racing 3 isn't compatible with the tf700. Would these games work if I were to root it. Or is there any other way for these games to work. Thanks a lot
Iron man 3 works, playing it now.
Rooting it won't make a difference. It won't suddenly become compatible in the play store.
Iron Man 3 plays fine, can't speak for Real Racing, not my type of game.
You have two options:
- Sideload it. Buy it on another device and transfer it to your TF700.
- Alternatively, there are thousands of websites who offer the apk. That's all I can say about it as per the rules on the board, I'm afraid. I know it's not ideal, and I don't particularly like the solution myself, but the developer doesn't provide another option, it's their own fault. If you want to know more, let me know (send me a PM).
I saw the option for side loading on my recovery and wasn't sure how it works. Would the function be similar to backing up an application in say, titanium back up, transferring that file to another device, and then running titanium again to install it? Or does it run the apk from there? Either way, these options may not work for games that connect to a server and check the compatibility of your tablet. That would require build changes in your system. I think Gameloft does this type of check. I was unable to transfer one of their games from my phone to the tablet for this reason.
I downloaded from the play store onto my Acer A500 and then backed up the app with ES File Explorer. Then copied the backed up apk to my tf700, installed it, and it downloaded all the needed files. Runs fine.

The former -- TB backups work fine for most cases.

That is correct.

Correct again. As far as Gameloft goes (I haven't played that many games on the 700) that would suck even harder because they a) make AAA-rated and popular games, and b) they are the main culprits in not properly identifying compatible devices (I believe most of their games run just fine when sideloaded, however).
I was unable to transfer one of their games from my phone to the tablet for this reason.

Obviously, you mileage may vary.
Compatibility of games
I've come across this problem a few weeks ago when trying to purchase Machinarium, which also identifies as incompatible.
I'm thinking it would be in ASUS' interest to have developers correctly identify their apps/games' compatibility with the TF700. Could we perhaps start a list of incorrectly identified compatible games from the Play store, and then could someone forward it to an ASUS representative?
My contribution:
- Machinarium
I side loaded the Real Racing 3 .apk
And its HORRIBLY broken, textures all over the place and sub 20fps to almost stuttering at times.
