Step 1: Go to Settings, Applications, and check download apps from unknown sources. This will enable you to download third party apps not found in Market. You can download all these apps from the Internet Browser directly on your phone.
I'd recommend getting a Dropbox account and downloading Dropbox & Astro File Manager/ES File Explorer (any other file manager should suffice) on your phones.
Here's my referral for Dropbox (You and I get extra space!):
https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTkwNzUxMDk
When you download the apk's use dropbox to store the apk files in the cloud. You will use the file manager of your choice to direct Dropbox where the file is located. This helps with having to re-install apps and avoiding having to search for them again. Dropbox is handy for a grip of other uses such as storing your class papers, pictures, presentations, documents, resume, etc.

Is there a way to print to a WiFi printer?
That depends on your printer brand. Most companies have an app for their printers on the market. I use the Canon app.

What is the application called for Canon? I have a Canon printer I'd love to use, but don't see anything but "printbot."

Thanks. Now I need to find the app.
PrintShare in the market, I think there is a free version and a paid version (PrintShare Premium).
I use the paid version an it works well with my HP printer.
Sent from my Thunderbolt using Tapatalk
Would this also work on a printer connected to a PC via WiFi?
If you have Dropbox (which is one of my favorite apps) install this. Works great.
I have installed PrintShare on my phone and printed the test page without any problems. I purchased and installed the key (PrintShare Premium) and PrintShare still ask for me to purchase the key. How do i get past that message?
I have version 5.5.0 installed i have tried to install 5.6.0 but get a signature error.
Need some help.

Google Cloud print!
Surprised nobody has mentioned Google Cloud Print. You have to have the latest Chrome version installed on your computer, but I've used it with my rooted Nook Color, and it's pretty cool.
You download the android app from the Market, and then there are instructions to be found on the web on how to set up Chrome.

as the tittle states im looking for the indycar mobile app, you can only find it on the market or have it texted to you but only if you have verizon. I do not so please help

Sprint User - Sucessfully downloaded Indycar App from Market
If you have root, Install Market Enabler: This will allow you to temporarily set your phone to appear as a Verizon phone and download the Indycar App. Just did it and it works.
Description of Market Enabler:
"A SIM Tool application to change the SIM issuer code in the running system (not permanent, will be original after reboot or flight mode)
This application is ad supported, please see my other applications to get a donate key that will remove the ads ;-)
Precondition to use this tool is
- Rooted phone
- su app
- busybox"
Works for download the app but after the app seeks for Verizon network to authenticate.
Yeah, I've got a rooted Cliq that I downloaded the IndyCar App with, but it needs a Verizon data connection to enable the app. I think this is probably a similar check as my girlfriends Evo3D's NASCAR app, which needed a Sprint connection.
1. Any way to fool the app into authenticating?
2. Any way to transfer an authenticated app?
Perhaps someone with a verizon connection could create a backup after it authenticates the first time so that others can restore?
Would that work?

I did this by downloading and running the app on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus, then copying the backup to my Transformer Prime (non-Verizon). It bypassed the check, but alerted me that I was running a non-supported device and closed. I looks like not only does it do a network check, but also a device compatibility check. So no-go for me.

Hmm, that stinks. I 'downloaded' the app on my Dad's iPhone. It looks like it was just a web page that added an icon to his home screen. It was originally open in safari, and in the menu, there was an option to add the page to the homescreen. After that it seemed to work like a normal app. On the iPhone, it seems like it was just a link to a webpage.
I wonder how hard it'd be to decompile this thing and take out these checks?
Also, if you want to stream IMS radio from the webpage on an android, it looks like you need to set your useragent to the desktop. The streaming audio didn't work on racecontrol.indycar.com until I did that. I used Dolphin to change the user agent.
I would like to run it on my Galaxy nexus.
Zulucap - any chance you can share your backed-up app with me?
I have a backed up indycar mobile apk that installs gets threw the network check but fails because my device is not supported. If anyone has the knowledge to figure this out I would make it worth their while. Let me know and I can send the back up files.

if you have root change the name in the build.prop. use adb or ROM toolbox pro app, there is a setting called build.prop editor. pm me if it works. i would do this with netflix app back in the day. you have the find the name of the phone the backup came from, and change yours to that. ---this is how devs change the device name when you see a crazy ass phone name ex DARKSIDE Galaxy it is cap sensitive. ex. to get netflix on my nexus i would change Samsung to samsung. hope this helps
Did anyone ever get this to work? Would be nice for the 500!

It's easy enough to get it installed on a non-Verizon phone, but when you open the app, it still complains about not being on a Verizon network. I'm wondering if the initial load has to happen over a Verizon IP connection to "verify" the app. If that's the case, I wonder if you could launch it with a data connection shared via a Verizon hotspot? I guess if it can force the initial connection via the cell radio, this wouldn't work.
To install it on a non-Verizon device, you can go to the webpage play store and push it to your device.

Ok, I understand this probably doesn't pertain to many other Fire users, but maybe it can help a few of you in the same situation as me.
I have my own Amazon account, but my wife and I share kindle and mp3 since buying books and music twice is just dumb. On our phones this is fine because each app allows you to log in as anyone you want. The Kindle Fire combines log ins for all Amazon services, and even puts your name up in the corner. This sucks because I would rather use Joe's Kindle, not Heidi's, and I shop Amazon a lot, but we use my Wife's accounts for books and music. So I was having to live without my music while having my wife lend me books over and over, which then stopped them from being available on my phone... I know, first world problems. Anyway, after rooting (not necessary for this, though, you can just side load) I noticed there was an update in the Android Market for the Kindle app, which I instinctively downloaded. It allowed me to install it over the system app and log in as my wife, without affecting the rest of the accounts on my Fire. Only down side is I no longer have access to the books tab (its empty), and have to use an alternate launcher to use the kindle app now since it doesn't show up in the native app list. Oh well.
After that worked, I decided to try it with the mp3 app, which I pulled from my phone and side loaded, since the one on my Fire didn't show as needing an update in the market. This time, the native tab didn't go dead at least.
Sent from my Digital Brick
Edit: After a reboot the music tab works again, updated post.
I have been working on this for a while and just figured out that if you rename the system app com.amazon.dcp.apk to com.amazon.dcp.apk.bak it will essentially seperate the amazon apps from the device allowing different logins for the apps.
Edit: Here's a link for anyone not familiar with renaming apps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385301
Sounds good, my mp3 player app reverted back to linked after a second reboot. Just one question, does this kill the tabs in the native launcher? No big deal if it does since I've switched to ADW, just curious. Probably going to reroot my Fire tomorrow and use your suggestion, and disable the Amazon Appstore redirect, too.

I just checked and all the tabs seem to be working fine.
Ok, that works, but it stops you from registering your Kindle. Don't know exactly what that means, but it's a little concerning since I dropped $45 on the warranty. Does yours just say "My Kindle" in the corner? I tried registering it in settings and it won't go through. Oh well. Think I'm just going to copy all the music over to my account.

Unfortunately I bought mine used and have been having trouble trying to get it registered so mine has always just been "My kindle", that was my driving force behind trying to figure this out. Sorry I was unaware of that issue.

The only IR Remote that is on my Note is the Peel.apk. Haven't seen any other ones in the Samsung Market either.
mine had the peel Smart Remote and Samsung WatchON.
from the app: "What is samsung watchon? a new way to enhance your tv watching experience. transform your tab into a universal remote control, receive personalized recommendations, and switch effortlessly between different screens"

It does crash though, searching for dependencies.
Just caved and flashed the rom. App launches but is stuck at setup, at least for Canadian users, I did update app from play store with us account I have. Canadian account says not available in your country. I guess that's what's stopping the initial setup as well.
Oh well!
Btw, watchon app is also available in us play store free, but since country dependent... Same **** samsung always pulls, with smart view app and now with this.

WatchOn is made by Peel
I was under the impression that the peel app was to work as a universal remote, whereas the watch on app is specific to only working with Samsung TV's. I set up the peel app and it works great with my Vizio tv, Cisco cable box w/dvr, and my sony home theater system.

are there any other apps in the play store to work as an IR remote and if possible works offline.?.
The peel app needs internet to initiate everytime, rather than just once for setting up the database containing the iR codes for the device needed.
It could be perfect to post the latest all of the pre installed watch on app, I have checked on play store and is not available for my device thanks

Yes, this is what I want. A simple, non-internet connected IR app that will just let you configure the blaster to work your devices - maybe even with macro/scripting the way the Harmony remotes work.
