In Myn's Warm Donut I'm trying to receive files via BT with this application, but at the very start, it states that it doesn't have root access, so my device cannot receive incoming files.*
How could it be that? my Polaris has always been rooted by definition. Is there a way to give an application root access?
I have ask myn with the same problem you have.....
here my thread for that..:

and he says:
Great question.
I have a feeling bluex is using nat/iptables which our kernel doesn't support completely yet. This is the same reason why USB and Wifi Tether apps don't work either.

It's a pity, but I think we'll have to stay until they develop a compatible kernel
Thanks for the information!

Sorry, but you are looking for something that is not here.
Do you know where can i find it?
Not working with my chinese device
tried and failed with it.....any solution ?????
I checked few more posts about wpa_supplicant. It looks like the generic or posted files works on some device models. May be It depends on device configuration as well. wpa_config is associated file which may also need some change relavant to the wpa_supplicant or need modification for specific device models.
I am dont understand the code fully. I hope someone will sort it out
it's working on samsung galaxy s and many htc phones with
2.1 / 2.2 / 2.2.1 ( some 2.3.3 also if )
Hi.
I've just set up an Ad-Hoc network so I can use the connection in the kitchen, and whilst my PC finds it fine, but my HTC Sensation won't even detect the network.
Apparently this is a problem with Android?
Is there anyway to enable the ability for Android to detect Ad-Hoc networks on the HTC Sensation.
Have the same questions. Searching the net for a couple of hours doesn't give me any answer please help

Hey, best way I have found to use my Sensation in an AdHoc network is to create the AdHoc network via your phone. As long as you have root access, install Barnacle WiFi Tether and run that. It will give you an AdHoc network discoverable by your laptop

this Problem occures because Android filters the ad-hoc networks from wifi search results , means Android discovers them , but not showing them to you !!!!!!!!!
there is a patch for Desire HD that i used on my Incredible 2 ( working 100% ) called ( DHD_Adhoc_Support.zip ) link in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1386601&highlight=AdHoc+Enable+Networking
there is another one for sensation called ( Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip ) . i don't remember from wher i downloaded it . i don't have sensation phone to try it , but i am sure it will work . Update link http://www.multiupload.com/A6AGJVX7A0
this patch will replace your original file in your Rom , so do a nand before you try
All sense Roms i tested have problems with wifi ???
there is a small yet powerful Software Called Connectify Pro that does three things :
Acts like an actual hardware Router ( Not software networking )
toggle wifi with a single click for either ad-hoc or hotspot
automatically does all complicated configurations for all types of network to fit with your firewall and windows
And more , i can't do without it
hope that would help , Please hit thanks if you found it useful for you
Enjoy

Thanks for your explanation. Unfortunately the patch for DHD does not work on ICS. Do you have another link for Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip cause the one you gave is no longer available. And I found other links but also not available.
Do you know if the Ad-hoc Sensation-Ad-hoc.zip work under ICS ?
Thank you
I had exactly the same problem and after many hours of testing and failures i manages to find a solution that gives me what I want, connect my HTC Sensation 4g with my Ubuntu's 12.04 ad-hoc network!!! (I thing it can work with other platforms too)
Since i have posted the solution to another thread i will give you the link of the thread.
Look at post #6

Hi i've got root access but whenever i open up a tethering app it keeps saying sorry but your kernel does not have the necessary features for running this application.
If Im not mistaking, I thought I read somewhere that some ROMs dont support tethering..
Cross posting is not receommended here or any other forum.
Hi! This is my first post, so forgive me if I'm not following proper etiquette. I would post this in the specific thread regarding this ROM, but I'm not able to post there yet.
I flashed xenon92's Resurrection Remix ROM, the latest version (Resurrection_Remix_KK_v5.0.8-20140411-s2vep.zip), which I found here
HTML:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627413
. Before I flashed it I was running stock Touchwiz (4.2.2).
In the week I've been using it, I have had no issues, except one which I have found no solutions for... I can not use Wifi-Direct as I used to use it when I was on stock ROM. It does not show up in any "Share With" context menus. I can connect to other WiFi-Direct capable phones, but when I try to send files from them, no notification appears on my phone asking me to accept these files, or showing that they are being sent to me.
Is there anything that could be done for me to regain WiFi-Direct capabilities? I have very limited data, and tend to share large files between my friends and I, which Bluetooth is no good for.
Thanks for any help. If there is any sort of way for me to show my issue in a log file or something, please let me know how to do so

WiFi-Direct should be working fine. It is a technology that can be utilized by apps to transfer data.

Use an app called "Superbeam". It utilizes the WiFi-Direct technology to transfer files.

Hello,
First of all this is an online TV watching app here in Belgium provided by my provider called Telenet link.
It works fine when I'm not rooted, so no SuperSU installed and no su binary. I did some testing and tried "RootCloak" and "No Device Check" but that causes the app to force close after logging in. What can be the cause of the app force closing with RootCloak or No Device Check enabled? I think the app only checks if SuperSU is installed because I'm using systemless root. But again I'm not certain.
Thanks in advance

Hello, looking for the same solution for my android tv sticks. Anybody checked 'Magisk' ? Hope to hear good news
I hacked a version for my personal need (pretty easy to do, but every time telenet comes out with a new app I need to redo the hack because of the update policy) and it is working on rooted devices but it is only for Lollipop roms (5.0 and 5.0.1) and lower.
You can download here, if in the future Telenet updates the app I will try to release a new hacked one.

Thanks civato, this works on my Huawei Mate with Android 4.4.2 I had to uninstall the original version first, update only resulted in streaming problem.
I am interested how you managed to crack or is this a secret you don't want to share?
What is the problem to make it work on Android 6.0?

Android is open source to me so no secrets here.
It is a older yelo play (4.3.0) that I changed. I just change the build version (matching the new yelo play app so it doesn't wan't to update) Then I recompile and sign it.
As 4.3.0 only supports up to Android 5.0.1 and doesn't have the DRM stuff Telenet put in the 4.7.1 and higher , but it was from 4.7.1 that it started to support android 6.0.
Maybe if I got more time to look into the smali files and try to get around to detect method for rooted phones I can get a better solution for this problem.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I will try to use suhide on my new phablet with Android 6.0
I just don't understand why Telenet refuses rooted phones, on a PC you are allowed to be administrator with much more possibilities for "misuse" than on Android.
