Hello,
I tried skyfire 0.85 and 1.5... for WM.
Is it possible to go online via WLAN?
Every time I start skyfire it wants to connect via data service (Locating...).

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, I'd say you have your terminology a bit messed up.
Regardless, as far as I know, it is possible to connect to Skyfire both through WLAN (i.e. WiFi) and your data service (i.e. UMTS). I don't think I've ever attempted to connect to Skyfire through WLAN, but I'm sure it'd be a bigger topic if it wasn't possible.
Maybe skyfire is not the best browser for such an old pocket-pc like x800.
I've now tried a cracked firmware from HTC with windows mobile 6.1 (legally not available for x800) without all the glofiish stuff - and now it's working
Thank you.

Yes...You can connect Skyfire through WLAN. First connect ur PPC to WLAN and ensure that the internet connection is active. Open Skyfire and it will go to WLAN. In case if it searches for data service, you can cancel it and it will search for WLAN
Moved as not software release.

The old msn is in the ROM Memory, you cann't delete it, so just install the new one, it will rewrite the registry.
I can use it for the first 2 days, but now whenever I try to access WLM , it will connect via EDGE eventhough wifi is connected, when I connect it via activesync, it will say sign in failed.
does it work for you guys ?
hey my fellow r-tards.... does this work whith xda iq?

Same for me, connects thru EDGE although WIFI is avalible, really annoying
Also, I can't change display name, anyone else experiencing that?
I had to disable EDGE, and delete all EDGE settings before being able to connect via WiFi
I will update the live mobile to the latest version soon.
It seems to work with some caveats:
messenger can't send messages. Presence can be seen, but no messages.
Push email sorta-works. It did in my early tests, but later I think it might not be. May need to be "logged in" to live to fix this. Also, I noted a setting on when to sync (manually/as needed/15 mins / 30 mins / etc). "As needed" is not selectable..
Thanks for your work though - very promising.
it works fine on my phone, a bit slow gotta get the omap clock again.. didnt like it cos of the warranty stuff but whatever.... only tried it through bluetooth > computer >internet though
EDIT: Damn! all my msn contacts is in my contact book, i dont want that, hundreds of mails, anyone have a sulotion?
hello!
I own a HTC X7500 with WM6 official ROM and I'm having a problem with pocket controller.
I mean, I think I have... You tell me..
I think it's pretty slow, I mean, when I use the remote controlle to install or to browse or to do anything remotelly on my HTC the connection seams pretty slow. Seams for real, that I'm remotelly connecting, not local.
I'm using ActiveSync, if it matters.
Notice that I've tested on the same PC on another PPC (QVGA Screen if it matters) and It works perfectly!
Please, tell me if its normal, or there's something I can do about it...
best regards

Controlling VGA devices will ALWAYS be considerably slower than doing the same to QVGA ones because of the amount of information needs to be transferred. It can't be really helped.
BTW, are you using the new, WM5+ connection model, or, did you try switching back to the old one in Settings/ Connections? Do give a try to the latter to see whether it helps (if there's a problem of, for example, a really remote connection).

Hi,
I couldn't find a program that i had on my last rom... as far as i remember the program is "internet sharing". where can i find it? i used to use it to share my universal internet connection over bluetooth pan and surf from my laptop... can anyone help me?
Noone around to give me a link?

With Windows Mobile 6, internet sharing should already be part of the rom
However. Otherwise it's Modem Link, which in wm5 you'd setup via the laptop as it's seen as a serial port.
I've found with wm6 roms and the built in internet sharing you can also use a program called Wifirouter, lets it become an 802.11 access point.
No link as i'm too lazy to find ti for ya, but you search forums and you'll find a few refrences to wifirouter
For all those who had in the last days problems with WLM, here I compiled a cab from the latest WLM files, version 10.6.33.0600 extracted from HTC Wings, thanks to Dr Gonzo to share those files with me.
Please, don't forget to install only in Smartphones devices
Download link:

Install instructions can you get here:

It works pretty well on my Tornado, I hope in yours too.
I think this thread should be better moved to "Smartphone general"
I also had some issues with Windows Live on my Tornado since several weeks.
I've just made a "Clear storage" of my Tornado (with the WM6 Phil's ROM, or Perfect English, I don't remember which one I chose when I installed it in August), and I installed Windows Live from the link you gave (this is the very first application I installed after having reset the phone).
Now I can synchronise my Hotmail account again, my Messenger display picure and screenname are updated, BUT I still can't connect to Messenger. I get this:
There is a problem with the server. Please try again later.

What's happening?
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!!
works great metanol...I didn't experiment any issue with messenger, works just like supposed to do
hotmail inbox on the contrary seems to work not so good, I'm only able to download titles of the emails but there is no option to download them...performing send/receive doesn't help
anyway I don't care about that

known issue..!!! there are many people experimenting that problem with PPC and SP WLM versionen, but i've found only an unusual solution. turn off your phone connection in Comm Mngr, just activate the flight modus, restart the device, the phone should be without radio activity, and then connect to MSN via WLAN.
There is not a way to connect to the WLM using the WLAN while the radio phone activity is on, I have the feeling WLM pretends to connect using GPRS, and i don't have any GPRS profile configurated (i don't wanna expend money for chatting with WLM)
Here is an older WLM version for SPs posted from leepriestenator at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1781429&postcount=182
Is an older version which mix the phone contacts and the MSN/Hotmail contacts on the same list, not good at all. But it works...!!

THX for the confirmation luchino san there are many problems withe the application, but they are so different that sometimes is no easy to give a forecast about every issue.
Thanks you

My experience with WML is totally diferent. I use GPRS, I also have Wi-Fi. It will connect on Wi-Fi at all times, w/o any troubles. However it will not connect on GPRS. It goes thrue 4 of 5 steps which tells me that it is in deed connecting to the server, and it stores the PW. But when it gets to step 5 (checking internet connection), there it hangs for a while and then says I have poor or no connection.
Funny.... I do want to use GPRS, as I'm on the road all the time and have unlimited data plan... Any ideas?

I'm not able to launch, too
try this....
Auto sync after a soft reset....
I have a strange problem... these cabs install on my device beautifully and things work perfect except for one thing. I have set up the sync schedule as items arrive... but the automatic sync does not automatically start on after a soft reset. I have to manually go and sync.... and then it works just fine... am I doing something wrong?
Is there an updated version for smartphones?

Thank you. This one really work on my Blackjack 2!!
I have a qtek 2020 and I want to use it like a modem. I saw a lot of tutorial and I did it (using the program USBModem_Dialer) but I can't connect in Internet with a sim that require a domain... For example... if I want to connect only my pda, in connection i have to insert user, pass and DOMAIN. How could I set my domain with USBModem_Dialer???
pass and domain if i'm am correct in what you are asking should be the same as your internet..... (you would need to pull them from your phone)
domain is (utenti), when i use USBModem_Dialer i have to insert it some where because it doesn't use pda config connections.... sorry for my english...
